Kollel Shorts: The Purim Story As A Pattern For Jewish History and the 3rd Temple

[Music] I want to talk about porum and I want to talk about how Hashem is running this world and how we should also look at how our role is within that now there's a a Biblical verse that Tana Rabbi UDA points out in midrash 449 and it points out 72 letters within the verse of dam 434 and he's pointing out these particular words to understand how Redemption for the Jews and how Hashem is running things for Jews that are going to be following the way of Hashem he's pointing out these words for this statement from darum 434 he says Hashem miraculously came to take for himself a nation with challenges with signs with wonders with war with a strong hand with an outstretched arm and with great awesome Deeds this 72l statement is a profound idea to try to understand how Hashem is arranging things we get into the porm story and we're kind of reading the porm story backwards in a way we're starting the porm story off with a great feast and we're looking at this big party and we're trying to make sense of it but to understand Hashem hasem gives the name of Hashem to Moses as is was and always will be other words for whatever has you know forem it's a being that we can't conceive of that is Sim mously existing in the future because the future has already occurred From hashem's perspective and the past and the present we can't understand something like that right so Hashem is when he's taking the cim the vessels from the temple and using it to make a big party to show that the temple is done and Hashem takes that guy as the puppet because he knows there's going to be second temple because it already happened From hashem's perspective and that's the guy he takes and he's making the party with the events that come into play where Esther will be taken as a wife and and who ends up being the big fundraiser for the temple it's aash faros because at the end of the story he's raising taxes and that tax money is given to his son from Esther and that money is going to go pay for the temple in other words Hashem arranges the universe where the guy who's saying that I've destroyed Judaism it's finished forget about it it's done and that's the guy with the actions that he's trying to take he becomes the big fundraiser for the temple that's how things work you have a story and and in the promises uh to Abu by hasem says oh when when they come out from Exile there's going to be great wealth they're going to have great wealth and you have the Egyptians sort of some consciously coming and saving money to give to their kids they're working they're working they're saving money they're saving money and in in the plague of hosek in darkness they they they come and they give a bunch of the wealth that they have to the Jews by the way am midrash says it's measure for measure that they're paying for the enslavement in other words it's helping to pay for the enslavement because you know they were they were forced to work like tending sheep and making bricks and uh tending Vines things like that in Vineyards working the fields and they were measure for measure says a midrash that they were paying for the labor but what happens is they they come they they think they're saving all this money and turns out they give it to the Jews Jews go out of Egypt with it and they come the Egyptians change their mind they come they chase the Jews at yam so at the Red Sea and they they come and and they get even more money and that money is fulfillment of that where they come out with great wealth and what is that wealth being used to do it is used for the silver and the gold that is going to be for the mishon in other words subconsciously these people that are like ah we hate Jews and we're destroying the Jewish people and we're enslaving them and everything else they the ones are saving to to give the money to the Jewish people to go build the Mishka that's where the gold and the silver comes from so Hashem arranges it where it looks like the very one who's trying to destroy it is in the end paying for you see this also in the establishment of the state of Israel where uh the Israeli Army in 1947 was losing badly and this guy yoseph Stalin gets a thing in his head that that oh well you know the British are going to end up taking control of the Middle East and and maybe you know I can get some sort of Leverage in here by supporting uh the Jews here because a lot of Jews are attracted to socialism and maybe communism and uh let's start sending weapons so this very guy who's at the same time thinking about make making pograms and and destroying uh Jews and making some sort of crazy plan where he wants to convert a third of the Jews kill a third of the Jews and and and jail a third of the Jews at the very same time this guy is thinking about this in 47 he's now sending arms that tip the scale in the battle in 1947-48 for the war of independence and and he's the guy who's going and and giving the arms and doing it and you see another story going to kill all the men he's gonna whatever I'm going to destroy it and he talks a relatively benign King Hussein who doesn't want to go to war with Israel calls him up every day every day hey you got to go to war with him you got to go to war I'm at war with him you got to help you gotta help gotta help and talks this guy into it it ranges it where the guy decides to do it and the Jews come and they take back the Western Wall hebon and a lot of Judea and Samaria yosef's tomb things like that and here you are you have the the Jew who's coming on to the Temple Mount who's the who's the here and this other guy named mosha Diane Diane which means judge says no don't do that Jews are not ready basically Hashem is saying no no Jews are not ready for that you can have the Western Wall you can pray there but you're not ready for this yet but point is that the guy who sets things into place to come and destroy the Jew people he's the guy that's arrang that through him is arranging the set of events that's going to restore where Jews can show up to the wall and go and do in that's how Hashem is doing things that's how Hashem is arranging things so everybody's so paranoid about you read chapter 39-45 there's going to be a third Temple there's going to be Jews that are observing things and a lot of the setting into place of that does occur in the month of Adar so Adar is a very special time because it's really in the tradition going to be the setting into place for the really the establishment of the the Third Temple and the operation of it and uh we see again back to these 72 letters that this Tana is referring to that Hashem is has a nation it's a Jewish people those people are holy those people have Purity those people are doing the laws that Hashem said and they are they are the children of Hashem and when we're not listening we're referred to as the servants ofm but you are always responsible to do Torah in its vote to learn Torah and the idea is that
