How to Properly Give Tzedaka - Rabbi Menachem Penner

i remember years ago going to heihal by the great synagogue and running into one of my older members at lincoln square synagogue happy to see he had retired and that he was there in eretz israel and i saw that as he was sitting davening chakras so we had a whole bunch of uh shkulim single skull one shekel coins lined up in front of him um and i was kind of wondering what that was about and i saw that as people came in to collect stukka throughout chakras he would just slide another one of those skull into each person that came and it was very wonderful on many levels it didn't really bother his tv so much he knew that there were a lot of people that were going to come through and he used that as an opportunity to continue davening while just nudging a shekel towards this person but it also meant as i learned later as i understood that this money was set aside for its dhaka and stucco is much easier to give when we set it aside when we determine that this many shkalam are going it's not that when the person comes to us we first decide if we're going to give and how much we're going to give we set aside a certain amount of money and that money is going to anem i'm going to tell you a secret i have a lot of money in my tallest bag maybe i shouldn't say that too loud but i get every couple of weeks 100 single dollar bills and i take out five at the beginning of davening that's not a lot of money i'm not a big stalker giver but i take out five singles at the beginning of chakras and i leave it in front of me and one by one not five dollars at a time one by one i give that to people that come in or i place it over the course of davening and stuck a box that has changed my chakras i look forward to having that money available so that i can give it out as i dive [Music]
