Eight Orthodox rabbis made the 10-hour trip from New York to Woodburn to harvest wheat crops this afternoon. Every year, the rabbis purchase wheat for baking matzah from local farmer RexKummer. But to make the crops kosher, the rabbis first inspect the grain and equipment to make sure they measure up to their strict standards to cut to harvest. The wheat should be dry, should not be uh damaged, should not be uh sprouted, not water is allowed to be with the wheat cuz it could grow. A in a continuously supervised process, this wheat will eventually be made into flour and mixed with water to make kosher matzah eaten across the world during the Jewish holiday of Passover. Over.
