almost every one of the actions that we perform in life are for one of two reasons the first reason being we have no choice it's a responsibility it's a law i have to make a partner so whatever it might be i have no choice i've got to get it done and the second reason is because you love doing it you want to do it for example i love to go play sports or hang out with my family or go uh have a good time with my friends i love that i'm excited to go do it you can't compare a person who does something out of havoc or a person doesn't have a hero or being forced and it could even be the exact same action imagine this for a moment you're about to walk into your house your mom who's done everything for you says don't forget to take out the garbage you're excited to go do something for you run back you tie off the garbage you bring it outside now imagine a different person you're leaving their house and it says please bring out the garbage for me like they're really you're gonna make me bring out the garbage for you and you do it you do it because you have no choice you feel like okay i was i spent the day in your house and you go bring the garbage out for them you can't compare it even though it's the exact same action and this is often the case when it comes to mitzvos a person some it could even be the same itself might be serving asham out of just pure out of fear i have no choice i'm forced to i'm nervous about being punished my reputation whatever it might be and then someone could do the exact same thing out of pure alba love wow i have such a good relationship hashem i want to give it i want to give back to you i want to do it for you and you cannot compare those two people those two actions even though they might be the exact same and this is exactly the gemara and sultan says in default it explains that somebody who does emits out of avada love it lasts up to a thousand generations more than if you did it out of europe of course getting the mitzvah done is important even if you're not feeling it yet even if you don't have that love but at least that direction we should be headed in is a person who's serving us this past week a lady on my block passed away she was over a hundred years old and it was somebody who had a little bit of relationship with i see her walking up and down with her aid every once in a while she loved it when my kids walked past her house and i went to go pay her shiv a call and at this house her kids are talking about how amazing life she had she lived over a hundred years but there was one person in the corner who could not stop crying and i turn over to take a look to the corner and it's her aid a filipino lady was a sweet lady but but the cultural differences were through the roof and it was her job to take care of her why is she balling like she lost her own mother figure to herself and i realized she gave so much to this woman so much taking care of her day and night for seven years that even if it's a job even if it starts off shalolisma not out of pure intentions but you give so much a person you left with nothing but a close relationship and therefore she feels like she lost something that was so close to someone that she loved and therefore even if we're struggling with doing things out of love for hashem keeping shabbos out of love dapping out of love because i want to do that what we should do is it might sound counterintuitive but actually give him more give more of our time more of our effort get there five minutes earlier and if you give more you're going to feel that close relationship and now you're going to show up to dabbing not dragging your feet but running and excited to have that relationship with hashem serving is not comparable to any other thing that you could do every single day we say yeah chose us from every every nation in the world that's pure love he pam picked us how many of us could say i'm choosing you hashem not because i have to because i love you and that should be our goal everyone have a fantastic day
