July 4, 2026, #1: Historic pre-revolution house in Flatbush, today Chabad House - RC Dalfin

So I'm here at 1681 East 22nd Street in the Midwood section of Brooklyn Flatbush. This is the Kabad House of Flatbush which is directed by Rabbi Zalman Liberov. Today is July 5th 2026. Yesterday was July 4th, 250 years sealed since the Declaration of Independence 1776. And it's no coincidence that Kabad bought this property donated by Elliot Stav as you can see on the building back in 2024. This was the barn which is now turned into a Hebrew school and other functions that Kabad provides the community. If you look over here, that's the actual original house. And according to what we know, it's one of the 10 houses still in the greater Brooklyn, New York area that's pre-revolution. The exact year is not known, but it's definitely a very old house. Kabad did the neighborhood and the government a big favor because developers were going to buy this property and put up here massive buildings. It's off of Main Street on that side and they saved it.
