It's Snow Coincidence

Life doesn't always go according to plan. But sometimes when we look back, we realize that what we thought was a detour was actually a shortcut. I have a friend Duvy Hon who experienced this firsthand. Duvy is the founder of an organization called Parnasa Network. It helps people with the connections and resources they need to succeed in business. And a lot of the networking takes place at the annual Parnasa Expo. Last year, a very large center in New Jersey agreed with Dubbie in writing to host the expo on February 4th and 5th. Dvy began making preparations. He invested a lot of time and energy preparing for those dates. But when it came time to sign the actual contract, Dvie received an email from the head manager of the center with an apology. He explained that they had to back out because there was this old customer who wanted to have a furniture show on those same exact dates. When those dates were cancelled, we were devastated and it was very, very, very depressing. It was very hot on us. Dovi had no choice and he was forced to reschedule the expo for the end of March. Deep down in my heart, I was waiting to see what Hashem had in mind and why it happened to us. This is a special weather report. Well, as it turns out, that year on February 4th and 5th, there was this huge snowstorm. It was illegal to drive on the streets. The airports were closed. There was maybe 12,000 flights cancelled. New York, New Jersey was shut down. The furniture show was all set up, but nobody showed up. I was so thankful to Hashem for showing me why he took those dates away from us. Every year, Duvi prints signs of a particular garra and suka nunal from that really captures the theme and the essence of what the expo is all about. Some are plagued with disease and illness. Others are fractured by broken relationships. And with every passing day, the world is becoming a more hostile and dangerous place.
