one of the stories that I like to share President George W bush writes about it in his autobiography how Israeli intelligence found the nuclear reactor in Syria and Israel tried to put pressure on the United States to deal with the reactor President Bush responded that they were not going to act militarily and they're going to try and deal with it through diplomatic channels two weeks later Israel bombed the Syrian nuclear reactor in his autobiography President Bush says that it was his most proud Mo moment as a supporter of Israel the fact that Israel did what they had to do to protect their citizens even though he said that he was charting a different course it's important to remind our friends and our supporters that we share the same values that we have the same goals I think that most US presidents respect a leadership that's able to tell them where our red lines are so it is a balance the relationship is important but we need to be able to stand up what we believe in
