Iran, Jerusalem & the War the Bible Predicted - Rabbi Tovia Singer

Therefore, all this is happening so the world will know, and this is the critical point. Listen like you've never listened in your life. The text says Tovia says is not [music] important. The text explicitly says that the nations, the world will see the destruction of Israel's enemies, then they will know I am God. Why does scripture have to prophesy [music] this? Cuz very important for us to go, well, there were another conflicts in the world. Why not them? So scripture has to tell us this is the conflict you need to pay attention to. You got that? Text is saying that the Jews [music] must return back to the land. Jerusalem must be in the hands of the Jews, and then Persia is going to attack Israel over Jerusalem. So the Gog Magog war is this is this people are pointing that out, too? Like is this is this it? Is this potentially a sign of things to come? You and I have been on air together now going on a dozen years. So we we've been talking about this. Um and yes, absolutely, where it is Persia. It is Ezekiel 38 and 39. It's not the only place where the end time war is discussed. Um famously it also is found in the book of Zechariah, the end of the book of Zechariah. Uh copiously goes through the details um of this end time war, and we're told also why does there have to be a war altogether as the precursor event to the coming of the Messiah. I emphasize precursor event uh because when the Messiah comes, there'll be no more wars. See, right now the uh the Gerald Ford, America's uh aircraft carrier, its largest, is right off the coast of Israel. Another is very close to Iran. None of this will be needed in the Messianic age. But we're told explicitly in Ezekiel chapter 38, there is a place whose population has been relatively speaking to other places has been stable, relatively stable, and that's Iran. That's modern-day Iran, which is Persia. We Their genetic makeup is very stable in that a considerable number of people who live in Iran today are the very people who lived in Persia let's say 2 and 1/2 thousand years ago. And we have an sort of an appointment with destiny. The oracles that Ezekiel pronounced, as an example, Ezekiel 38 and 39, were counterintuitive at the time. Persia wasn't a problem for the Jews. It's so clear this is a word of God because it's not like something that anyone would have ever guessed. They're not Arabs. And one might say that the Arab world, the the Bene Ishmael and the the children of Isaac, would have a tenuous relationship. Given that Isaac and Ishmael had a a challenging relationship. Isaac didn't know what was going on. He was only a baby when all this was going on. They ultimately resolved it all. And in our tradition, the Arab world and the Jewish world resolve it at the end, which I'm very much looking forward to. But Persia, where where does that come in? What's very striking about Persia and why it would fit perfectly, and this is what I believe it We don't have a text that explicitly says this, but Persia is very big in this, so it's very clear. You know, we do a lot of shows, a lot of stuff that comes up about Islam and so on and so forth. And I'm interviewed on a lot of Islamic shows. I get a lot of emails from people who live in the Islamic world, understandably. But as it turns out, I get far more messages from people who live in modern-day Iran expressing a fusive love for the Jews, a fusive love for Israel, and I get I get that from all over the Islamic world. There are people who are very famous who I will never betray, but the people who are well known who have a deep love for Israel. But I get more from Iran than everything else combined. So there's something very intriguing about why Persia is mentioned so first in Ezekiel 38:5. And then it comes up again. Now, Khomeini has been killed. Haman has been killed. I mean, how someone cannot believe in God is be beyond my And all of his uh his whole leadership has been completely obliterated. It is very clear that once Iran's leadership is taken out and its the regime is removed, the people of Iran will feel a tremendous love for Israel more than any other Islamic country that I'm aware of. So therefore, Persia, Iran, is exactly the kind of country that plays this very important role in the Messianic age in that uh with the regime destroyed, you then have a people that rise up and then uh bless Israel, and that's a relationship that's made in heaven. Ezekiel 38 and 39 tell us very clearly that what triggers what what triggers this battle is that and I'm now talking about verse uh 9 10 11 is that they see cities that have no bars and no gates. And that so much describes the south of October 7th. The kibbutzim, these little communities, they for the most part, they were not right-wing or conservative or militaristic at all by any measure, not It's a general statement, but it's really pretty much true. Moreover, with Jews that were murdered at Nova music festival were out in the open. So, what what what it comes into view is that the enemy sees this and goes in and just destroys. And this, the Bible says, will kindle the the ire, the rage of God, and then God is going to destroy them all. In Ezequiel 39, Hakadosh Baruchu, through his prophet of blessed memory, uh goes back and explains why why they war a necessary event in history. So, we're told that God wants this war in that he will harden the heart of the enemies, like Persia, like why would they do this? Ezequiel 38:4, God's going to use like a hook to draw in the enemies of Israel. And even though, like why would you do that, you know, Iran in 12 days was shattered by Israeli forces. Like, why? So, they're acting in a way that this should immediately spark Pharaoh and God hardening his heart in order that his glory might be displayed throughout the world. And here, this is even more so. In Ezequiel 39, uh verse 18 to the end of the chapter, it's very clear that God is going to this war is necessary and that all the world will see. The chapter, and I want to highlight this for you, repeatedly points to Israel's indiscretions and sins, and that's why she was exiled. This is very important, and it's important for the Tucker Carlsons out there and and all the replacement theology people out there, who their chief claim is that yes, Israel was once chosen for a special place with God, but because of their sin, therefore they're done and they've been replaced eternally. So, this can't be [snorts] the case. This is very important because the text goes out of its way as though the text anticipated this and is saying, "You need to know that uh the Jewish people, while there were always a remnant of the Jews that were faithful, of course there always were, but the Jews went to exile because of their sins." And the text is um does not hold back, but rather, on the contrary, is enumerates it all. I mean, just However, God is going to have mercy on Jacob, on Israel. They will be restored back to the land. Now, we are told explicitly in Isaiah 1:27 that ultimately that the children of Israel will be saved through uh through charity, means social justice. In that case, you could say justice is better than charity, and repentance openly. This is not a passage that makes it into Christian Bible because in Christian theology, that's not possible. I'm not trying to uh make this in a Christian thing at all, but in Christian theology, this doesn't work. And the destruction of idolatry, which is very, very clear in in Isaiah 27. So, therefore, all this is happening so the world will know, and this is the critical point. Listen like you've never listened in your life. The text says, "Tobias says is not important." The text explicitly says that the nations, the world will see the destruction of Israel's enemies, and this then they will know I am God. This is very critical. And also, you don't need a commentary for Ezekiel 39. You don't at all. And if you read the whole chapter, everything I tell you read in context, but the text is very plain. When the world sees the destruction of the enemies of Israel, the world will repent. Now, there'll be enemies who'll be destroyed, for sure. In fact, the passages that precede and introduce these passages describes the destruction of the enemies of Israel. Their bodies will be strewn where the birds will feast for years on their bodies. Whatever that means, it means that the enemies of Israel will be utterly destroyed, and it'll take years for them to clean up the mess. So, we're very much observing this, and one of the things that we we never do, William, is we never look at an event and go, "Aha, let's create a theology." Like, since we've been on air together, we'll be going on a dozen years, we've been talking about this regularly. Why? Cuz my Bible the prophet said so. They're not There's nothing they could have known at the time that could have extrapolated this. Scripture says Iran. Iran has no border with Israel. Means for me to go to Iran, I'd have to travel 1,000 km due east. We have no border with them. They're not Arabs. They're They are the head of Shia Islam, which is a sort of a strange It's sort of a There are no Shia Muslims in Israel, incidentally. There are in Lebanon, but not none of them in Israel. But their eschatology would certainly put them at odds with the Jews in more ways than Sunni Muslims. So, if this really all is if anyone is watching what is happening now, right? This is the headlines, this is the top of the fold, everything. Headlines, largest font size. So, if anyone's missing this, then you're you're just blind. It's period. This is happening. Scriptures prophesied this and why? It's very important to know like why does scripture have to prophesy this? Cuz it's very important for us to go, "Well, there've been other conflicts in the world. Why not them?" So, scripture has to tell us, "This is the conflict you need to pay attention to." You got that? So, like why do you need the scripture? Why don't you just have the war without the scripture? Like why do I need to know it? Cuz it's very important that we are we look at the Bible and we are not distracted Genghis Khan or whatever, you know, who you know, the you know, whatever. I'm not going into world history. But the point is the text is saying the Jews must return back to the land, Jerusalem must be in the hands of the Jews, and then Persia is going to attack Israel over Jerusalem. And Jerusalem is stated explicitly in Zechariah Zechariah chapter 12 verse everything. Verse 3 as an example, we have a heavy burdensome stone to all those who come against it. So, therefore, listen carefully. There are many wars going on in the world. Many wars right now. There's nearly 30 wars going on in the world according to the US State Department. And I don't need to tell you about the wars that 100 years ago or 80 or 90 years ago. I don't The key is that the reason why the text must be baked into Tanakh. In this case, we're highlighting Ezekiel 38 and Zechariah, the last third of the book of Zechariah, is so that when the events occur, which are again highly falsifiable, You know, it's not like I don't mean this in a negative way, but it's not like Matthew 24, there'll be wars and rumors of wars, very vague. Like, what does that mean? No, this is a very specific country the Jews must return. The church fathers never imagined the Jews would ever return and frankly no logical person would ever think that was possible. And that's what we are observing right now. So, our hearts are with those who are in hospitals right now from that direct hit. Also, three American servicemen were killed in very recent hours. Our hearts and prayers are with the families of those servicemen. We do not yet know the circumstances of what happened. There are a number of who are injured in whatever happened there. I'm sure we'll find out soon, but our hearts are with the with the with the families of those who were killed in battle. And [music] so, that's where we are right now.
