Hello everyone and welcome back to
Inside Arts Scroll where the books you
read and the people who write them come
to life. Today I am privileged to be
joined by Rabmoi Burkowitz in honor of
the release of the brand new biography
about the ribba. Thank you for coming
out to art school. My I'm welcome for
that. It's my pleasure. It's a pleasure
to have you here and I know it's a
unique to have you here because
you knew the ribbon in a very very
personal way. Uh and tell me if I'm
wrong but I think you knew him in a way
that maybe many people didn't know.
Yeah. Uh who wrote this book did a
magnificent job as he always does
painting a picture for us who didn't
know the so that we could gain an
appreciation for who he was. But today
having the to sit with you, we want to
get your perspective on who the Reb was,
what he meant to you, and maybe certain
perspectives that you have of the Reba
that other people didn't have. So again,
thank you for being here. Um, tell me a
little about yourself just as a
background before we get into how you
got to know the reba. Where you where
you from? I come from Bora Park. I grew
up in New York, New York City. My father
actually was
named and he was a town of
the green
belt and we and also my father took us
to many many
sadikim before the arrived to America.
So I got to know many many
Mhm. It was a different time. Now you
grew up in Barak. Where did you learn as
a I learned I learned in
I learned to to um to America to Bora
Park. I learned in Bab. Mhm.
I that time he lived first he lived on
46 streets on near 13th
Avenue between 13 and
14 and then actually we he dabbed every
day was across in the school in Borak
big school he was the man
ram there it was almost half a year in
that place and then he got invited was a
very rough he called the linder. He was
the
cloenber
dian and he invited the rim to come to
his bismdish that time he didn't have a
mikvah and he invited him to come to his
house because he goes to the country in
the summer he has a whole bdish for him
he can stay in his house and that's why
when the reb went to his house he moved
from 46 to 43rd streets on 15th Avenue
now how many years after the rebba came
to America Did you first get to know
him? Oh, I got to know him the first
mozzar shabas when he arrived to
America. Yeah. I was the age of 14 years
old. 14 and a
half. My father
heard came a
big
miracles. Everybody told him his friends
that is a good idea should go meet with
him. The first master
Shabas we went to Williamsburg. Mhm.
Yeah. And then we I met him and we sat
down. We talked to him. He was he was
unbeliev all this think what he's going
through in life and told him that you
don't have to worry anything about
it to help him. Everything he just told
me you're going to be answered. He's
going to have all the brahas and all the
and before he finished the conversation
he told us by the way the next week I'm
going to burough park and it's like this
people going to come to Davin and the
weekdays I have no problem during Shabas
they're not going to come because they
want to be with the family and his
mother was late he's begging my father
me and my brother if my father can bring
a little bit help do the minion He would
appreciate it. And he
said, "I'm gonna help you with my so if
you can do me a favor to help me out, it
would be a
he said, since then, since then Shabas
1974 was it?" 1974. And he told
me, "You're going to be very happy. I
going to do mine and you're going to"
And we start to come to Davin. Uhhuh.
Just on Shabas. Just on Shabas Friday
night. only the first few weeks and then
by me I already the minute I had time I
ran over to him it was like I felt like
home it's like uh even though you were
young Bak you were young you weren't
intimidated at all by the rabbi no
because his man was late although I saw
everything he's hiding it's like
governing with veas everything on the
side it took me like I would say a week
or two then I got the I got the the
picture very well Everything is
dominating. You were talking about the
Reb's manum. He had very interesting
manum. Yeah, very talk about that. Yeah,
I'm going to talk. What what happens is
sometimes late because he didn't feel
he's ready to to put out film or because
you have to
give like the says you have
to 3 hours before
that's the way he was taking that. So
every day he ded at a different time.
No, sometimes he was able to d not that
late. Mhm. Sometimes sometimes he was
ready to d even in the morning his that
came from the minion that used to come
late he's now he's used to say now I'm
waiting for them they minion sometimes
he was ready early although he didn't
have the
now as time passed you you spoke to the
reb on a regular basis a regular basis
very very close what were you what would
you speak to him about he told me about
the main thing he spoke he needs a
minion for Dominic that
And you you helped arrange that? I
helped arrange and not only that he was
very makers Friday night after he
finished the
meal making his stage was 2:00 in the
morning. Not that many people showed up.
Right. And he, you know, he was to have
10 people
after the after the and he told me at
the this guy is coming that person is
coming the first few few weeks and I
told him how many more people I have to
go bring him to this week. you don't
have to go and every time he told me
another two people would eat the most
impression thing I had with him most
inspired spiritual what I saw at the
table he tells me he was making kdish he
was like making a whole to the kesh was
he was saying he was learning the whole
mishn all the paracum and Friday night
after he finished ding till we went to
the meal he went to the meal was like
1:00 in the
morning cuz he was s for 3 4 hours and
then
he and then he
started to the to coming to this you
know to the table. So you're saying he
learned Mishnay as learn and he learned
otherw
is uh I was learning from together with
him is I remember when he start to learn
the
settle his mom is feeling that alone is
learning with you with the fire. Mhm. He
said you felt like he'sing he's coughing
away in the land was the same way and
they both promise give a promise if you
learn that the Rambam rings on every day
once a
week and Satan says al I think in
the capital he has like and he says that
also if you learn the settle couldn't go
over you is going to be
helping the boat. So everybody say where
the MS coming from that's more one of my
ideas that he was like in them and they
said you know so how how old were you
when you were learning these things? 14
and a half years old. A young B. A young
B. Yeah. Wow. And you would then stay
for the suda for the tish. Yeah. I was a
tish. You stay for the tish and the tish
would end in the wee hours of the
morning. Yeah. It's like he was m before
before. Yeah. He didn't ask us to man.
He knew the
in his in his because he was seeing
sometimes they were not he asked Gaba
and that not in Gab people what time is
now and they gave him a little bit they
want him to eat and he he knew right
away you're not saying what did the Reb
do for those hours during the tish he
was giving he was from the kdish he was
shik like with fire he wrote he was
standing on a whole time by kdesh kdesh
is given unbelievable
those because he was Mik he
was before the kesh he was also I looked
very between the I saw he was
also like we do night he's the king of
the whole world he was like giving us
that's unbelievable unbelievable and
then would the reb go to sleep after the
tish uh he go to sleep for an hour and a
half two hours with stops not more than
Yeah. And then get up and stop of the
morning. He went to the mikvah. He
called the
and he went to the mikvah. And after
that he start to say tillum the whole
tillum had to
beus and if he was mafik let's say won
this he started from the beginning was
unbelievable. What I want to bring out
Friday night is um you met the
old clan. They were very good friends
from the old
home. The was of
the after 40 years he came out of Russia
and the rabbi came ages before and they
met the first time. Mhm. And they were
like they went
to and together and the was from and the
girl came from was adopted by the rebel.
Mhm. and they met together. This runs
over to him before this time of the
wedding and they give him a big hug and
also and they said
the you don't see a friend 40 years you
have a
special the whole thing and the told was
the first time they met after they came
out for Russia. He said please tell me a
story about the
reblan rebels are very humble a big
sadic it was like similar to the no and
he
said to
talk how much we're going to talk we're
going to need a whole night to talk and
we're never going to be finished talking
about this goddess of
the didn't give up and he said please
anything a little story and then the
rabbi gave in and he told him when
the was
saying Friday night and was
holding we
felt
harina the heard that words he was like
scream and yell yo yo mhammed harina
that's the way they both make kdesh
there's a famous mice that they say
about the that the when the scalenum met
the ribbon one time that he started
singing his niggan. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Were you there? Many times he start to
see his niggan.
Yeah. He sang that. He sang that and not
only that he liked also the
which goes like this.
[Music]
Whose niggan is that? That's the
Scalenna's Yeah. This composed
that
song together with him similar with the
hands like that. Uhhuh. They were
singing the song way. Wow. Yeah. Now
going back to the to the Reb your your
relationship with him. Yeah. You know
today we look back we have a biography
about the ribbon stories
galore known as a balm balifus. you go
to his uh
Kevy, thousands of people all the time,
day and night.
In those days, it sounds like it wasn't
like it was so hard to get to the
Reba for sure. In the 1970s, you was
different times than he had with the
Gabbor said that this time you can get
in and now it's not. Were people coming
on a regular basis? No, they come. They
come. They did come. The first few years
nobody knows that people who are over 60
years old can tell you what was going on
there. The new generation asked him no
this happened just now when he he was
nostalic you know he lived no this was
first few years he came out to first he
was we know he lived in he lived in
Brooklyn he lived in Williamsburg and
barak he lived Williamsburg only lived
one week it was there was not even a few
days and he lived in Los Angeles as well
I was going to Los Angeles I took the
the grand prototype I traveled three
days to get to
Yeah. Day and night. That was the second
day. I didn't have that much food left.
When I arrived, I came to his door. I
took a taxi to from port to to his house
and I knocked the door and said they
told me the he thinks park now mo the is
like we have we have the screaming mo
I'm up. I'm waiting for you. Uhhuh. I
was wait I'm waiting for you to come.
And he said essence before
because he didn't eat a whole time is
you have to I'm going to eat now and
we're going to eat
together. He was worried about my eating
about everything. Wow. That's why I came
to LA. I mean to say he was
unbelievable. People like they're 60
years old. They can remember a little
bit what happened in Borak in is a show.
He was the first time there. Everybody
came the whole
ances they usually don't go to they go
well they're not the more
lit had a name for the snappers they
unbelievable stories where he went down
one of interesting things that you've
said over uh over time and your uh
witnessing the reba
is people here they they think of the
they think of mikvah which we heard you
know in in back in Europe and and things
like that but you shared with me that
you would have spelled it from his
mother in
lib going to talk about it what happened
with this everything even when people
came in broken hearts but cautious mobs
was going on and on he took it out from
the gor everything included first of
all we had sadik Take a half hour. What
is that? Eight hours
crying in and fasting two
days
because the strip is based
on
was fasting and then he fasted another
day. He passed two days
because he says mosha we learned the
gamura. I used to learn eight hours
nonstop and when I finished learning I
learned from them that there's the one
doing this it's not my I learned I
learned from sadik I went to rabbis but
this came from the gmor now what would
he learn random mas did he learn no he
went to he said and not only that he
told me in barak 50 years ago when he
learned he made on every d he was able
with his head it is able to picture the
DAP like a computer like he knew how the
DAP look that's the way we learn to and
you're saying he knew it by heart by
heart everything and he made
himself yeah we have to look
up citizen he was before the war he was
one of
the and he was a tal of his
his sent them to him to learn from him
to the to the
should
go he was famous in the you have to see
his and his letters unbelievable is he
used to say
to that I know a lot of learning he said
to that he knows a lot of
learn that's my
he said that's what he said on him you
learn limited I told you I give you an
example I had in was a big go he was
named as and he called the he was a
glutia
book he died by the war he was one of
the
famous books what was the name of and he
was a town and that person was ahead I
remember he was nitra and he told me
that you rebu He knows how to learn. He
knows everything. All the he acting like
I'm the And he's he said he had a one
time they were talking about learning.
What's the what if someone made the
second but the first was like it says
the first he made a mistake and you said
when he got
an Yeah. what is what is he said told
him
this and he it
was and he said everything what he told
me I had to go look
up he told me word by word the and this
is the answer he came to learning he was
like out it was not over an hour and a
half they were talking and he says to me
he was he was a his name
And and he says he said I said in he
told
me he wanted to trick like four people
wanted to fool people. Yeah. And he was
not able to fool me. Maybe someone me
cannot fool canless. He knew everything.
Wow. in learning and learning you know I
if I'm not mistaken I heard that you
were the one who was Mafarim the niggan
that now became very very well
known yeah yeah I wasing because I
learned with him together you heard the
reb would sing it when I was 1982 learn
with him every day every day we had a sh
together you learn yeah me and me and I
went upstairs she the reb
Second the rebbitson she had a little
bit she didn't want everybody to bother
coming up to the room is I was one of
the gab that was able
to be there she was the other room she
even taped it down the thing is what do
you mean she I gave her a tape recorder
that to record to record and sometimes I
ask her is she told she's going to give
it to me then I told you know is he's
rebson you know I have to is I I record
it in myself I know 10 years from All
the songs came out what he sang.
Shabas I can make a I gave out tapes
also with other people
the he had
these to explain to those who are not
familiar is like means like it's like
the way he sang it like a tune. Yeah.
Yeah. Without words. without words and
just even take a song a maj song that he
sang in the maj they make it they sing
it at yoy it's a very beautiful song
after he finished the song I I got it in
my head what he how he does it he was
crying singing after he finished the
song he said
this is a spiritual song him it's like
what I was not able to give an
explanation he was talking he is a himl
person and he felt it's a name. Now he
the reb would sing.
Yeah. Yeah. It's not only conditions
this also I want to explain we coming
the words we you know is this words came
from
the his rebu
his reb's
father he has a safer
called and this words is written in that
safer how he sang it in the with when
the was alive and first of all before
this song David sings the other The
other he was he was goba many many years
under that years he was not the gob he
was not he was all the years go but very
close and he knows the tenius also of
the reb he's the one he puts it down
[Music]
And you might you remember the reb
singing this? I like that of the of the
is this song abai is very close to that
it's only a little different similar so
very similar what I was trying to bring
out after we finished learning middle
learning before we stopped he was taking
his two hands and put it like this like
shakess connecting to
hashem to
[Music]
He sings roser of leash. Schmelzer.
Yeah. He got he came over to me one day
and he says, "I'm looking for a good
morning." I said, "I probably looking
for this your style you make all the
time, you know." And I told him about
this niggan. And I told him that years
already over 18 years this famous singer
very very singer
sings that I teached him the song for 20
years. I told him I have a song is he
used it by Kumzit. He went to camps.
Uhhuh. It's his mage and he told me one
day he wants to give out a tape music. I
said you have a song here and he sang it
all the years and he heard how leap is
singing this song. He said he not able
to find such he's the way he puts it the
way he puts it down. Yeah. He's the only
singer from all the singers. I really
got a compliment. I'm happy that he's
singing about is he did a hood the way
you teach it to me. He sings it like uh
and you heard it from the source. I
heard the source and not only saying
that then he he's saying that he told me
once and I saw I wanted to bring a water
to drink
something you cannot be and learning
just took over an hour every day. Wow.
Crying and learning and he said to me
like this to
the like we have to learn the gammor
where the buy holds the
They if you don't understand the you
need to understand you know they come
and they learn together with you
with coming together they explain you
every subject that they have on the not
only that he said their mit on every not
only all the wow he was and learning now
to they had a big right 30,000 people
were listening to a song thinks this Do
Miselus was Yeah. Do sang. Yeah. And he
he sang he Yeah. He sang I know my work
at other songs the ten the main thing is
the tenas is unbelievable. Wow.
Interesting. So we was to that a lot of
other songs that I gave out singer
singing. I'm not going to mention names
but other what other things about the
reb you said that you recorded. Yeah.
What what else did you record? Was it
just neo or were there other things? No,
I don't think so also I
have in learning. I also
was to be before came to America was
called
Mhm. called it a bluer to work was one
of the go and he knew
mass they called
him told me on him he's a going he knows
from the from old home one they had a
conversation we record that we gave it
out today everybody likes music I give
him we talking
about
isb was talking to this John the rebb
and he says to the rebb I have
to the other he said I have a vote from
the who was the son of the he's talking
about this says when took
out to be to be killed is the garra
says you let yourself they're taking you
with not
only says says the Gomorrah says I
haven't even written down one of the he
says call
him call he answers to me and don't be
upset every day I was waiting for this
moment to go and
he's
the son of he
says he
said was
away says no I want talking about and he
says to him
state says in the garra but he's only
the
garam says they're saying
that he was yelling screaming like he's
holding by that moment
and he tells
him please I want to hear your word he
was talking about keshashem and we're
talking about keshashem and he wanted to
give him the word as the word goes a
little deeper
as the says
he that's what
they and he says every day when I was
reading I was ready to be myself to
Hashem what is the that I
have not been able they they taking away
my life. Now I'm not going to able to
have that sweet taste that I have every
day in Krishna to give over my soul to
Hashem. They're taking they're taking me
away. That was the that was the the he
had that it's not going to have the
sweet taste every day. And that
was now the the book. Yeah.
Like the many stories that we hear about
the Reb. Talk about many of the the
Yeshua that the Reb blessed people with.
Yeah. Some people call them.
I know you were witness to that also.
Talk talk about the things that you saw
where the Reb seemed to have whether it
was or the
Reb something something very unique.
It's very unique. I have is written in
the book although I can explain as a
mamish one of the mass snappers in Bora
was a person a big big sadic his name is
blunder and he came to the tish to pry
the night and he even offered the gaba
he's going to help him out he wants to
miss the rebal he wants to be right
there we all told him the best thing is
to stay a little better because the reb
said I want to stay there I want to help
him with
the you know to open the the turn the
what to turn the pages for him. Yeah.
Yeah. And the
[Music]
said he was saying
it was going no like from the ve nothing
and that person was thinking in his mind
maybe the Reb is mad at him and
screaming no new no he's after Kdesh he
took you know he went out he took he
went home nobody knew they because other
people came so was no this one go and
after the fish the reb didn't talk by
the fish. He was like after the fish you
he drink and then he tells him I need a
favor from you. I was not more than 15
years old. I need you please you know
where the moa lives go call him because
I need a minion. I need to have him. So
I was thinking okay the reb is right.
But I was afraid it's a bad
neighborhood. And I said rebold told me
you can wake them up and they're going
to come for the minions. Do I have to go
all the
way? He's he tells me another time it
would be nice if you go. Okay. Then he
saw I got nervous. It's a bad
neighborhood. He went over the two. They
were older than me. Remember still the
name Elbs was there. They came every
Friday night. And the Reb says to them,
"Please do me a favor. If you can walk
Mo and I want you to take him to this
house and call the person." Before I
left I said okay no problem and I told
him he might sleeping probably bench he
said no he didn't
bench even he wants to sleep he cannot
sleep you know this two bak told me they
want to go say I they want to see they
want to see they want to see the they
came that door was a little bit open and
they said person sitting in in his
kitchen and he's not sleeping and there
we knock the door and we open the door
and he's right
there you didn't bench no I didn't bench
and I cannot sleep he said it's all the
same thing rebel was 15th Avenue 43rd
and that person lived on
52nd close to 10th Avenue Borai in that
neighborhood that neighbors were not
like today Borai was a dangerous
neighborhood
and he knew what's going on there he
came we go out and back was happy call
him he gets
So was he come into the house and the
rebs from the table to him at the door
and he says the val thank you for coming
gave him a hug. I remember was
there made my day. He said I'm not upset
at you. I came to call you not that I
need benching. I need the benching.
Yeah. I want you to be my because I knew
and he realized that that he he felt
yeah that was that's a miracle you
cannot you know the miracles we have
every day he knew right away that person
is in a claim he cannot sleep and he
didn't bench he told us to us this is
like how careful we have to
I remember The same person had another
thing with giving out sham in the
morning and the reb gives he used to
give a little he made keshan
schnaps before the student he gave from
his cup he gave out to people is with he
gave to the mosha also this person I see
he's leaving there is not eating and he
says
to why you not eating probably had a he
had a bad dream in the
says that the that dream he can fast in
Shabas. Mhm. Reb said let's open the
let's go over he said you forgot to look
in the bar at that time the was very
little you need to have big glasses
they're able to read that today printed
out a little bigger they had little oas
in the
oas in the short oas they have that
in you can eat
yeah I tried to bring out his learning
was unbelievable. Wow. Yeah.
What what other things now so many years
later you know with the vantage point of
of time uh are you amazed about in your
interactions with the Reb? Everything is
every his mis and his was unbelievable.
It's like I had this person very close
friend of mine and he he only had girls.
talking about 40 years ago in Bahin was
very open with kids and someone needed a
boy a ben he gave a ben you know like he
took the bone from the chicken and he
gave it to him the guy stole my aben a
bath he took a piece of he gave a bath
this person has seven girls I know it
was a good friend of mine he's a little
older than me he lives in Brooklyn so he
got and he you know believes in that
he's I grew up in Sat and
this is he says all the time
to I want he came over and gives him
want to give him a piece of meat you
know chicken
said I have seven girls I want to have a
boy he took he made a joke not a joke
like he he liked to make simul so it was
not only so serious so he like to put a
little
and he tells them
who's what's bad with the girls, you
know, gives
a have seven girls. I want a boy. He
took out a bone and he gave it to him.
Why would the Reb give it with a bon
food? No, but food was abas like But why
why was that? What was the
No, but why why would why would he have
to give with with a bon or with food?
What was the No, no. He gave a bone.
Bone is a ben. Oh, because bone is a
ben. A bone is
abided. A bone is a bane. Uhhuh. Is a
bane means a son. A boy. Uhhuh. And the
other one is abas a little
that was going I'm telling it was
unbelievable. I can give out. And what
happened with with well that person he
got angle and I I know the person myself
was
not he was shel and I met him 40 years
ago I met him few years ago I went to a
wedding and he says oh what's your
name he was like unbelievable said you
remember
that you know my son he's already he has
already kids he's married since that
story and I'm my wedding I want to call
him out I want you to see my whole
family and that's the that's where the
wow that was that was gave me such an
and I remember what he said
unbelievable unbelievable now as the
years went on yeah and more and more
people knew about the rebba were you
able to maintain your kasher with the
reb yeah yeah it was I didn't give up I
was Okay. And you had to you had to push
you had to Yeah. The old city matone was
a lot of years there the one who helped
out with the book. Yeah. He helped out a
lot. He a lot of stuff he gave the books
that he gave out in the past and I was
there with him. We used to be together
and all this Gaba gave the pictures of
it. A lot of them inside there. They saw
Misham. How old were you when the rebu
was na? I
was I was
uh 28 years ago. 28 years ago was it?
Mhm. I'm now
63 which is a number of years right? So
you got to know you knew the
reb was many many gab that days and was
one of the gab who was a lot of years to
he he knows a lot and he was mhm now
people are going to pick up the book
people heard a lot of stories what do
you think people will gain most from
reading it everything because I know
you've been telling everyone you meet
you tell you have to
read you have to read I know a little
bit for why
yeah he gave out a book
about Gman Rabbi Gman
Gman Gman I know him from 50 years ago
really yeah I know when he came he's a
very
noic the way he does with bringing so
many people back and and I was opening
that book and I was reading the chapter
he had with the rabbi gman Right. The
whole story and I was like, "Oh my
gosh." This is he's telling the story to
be told. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. I'm
telling you. I was like,
"Is that what led to writing this book
when you Yo, I no he writes anyway. I
just gave him a little I told him if
you're printing the book, whatever put
in that that story with Rabbi Gman."
Right. Right. Right. He put it into the
book and he saw he was listening and I
had other story rabbi g myself he came
to the rebark the reb was by him all
shabas and mig he came from and the
rebels till shabasik he was already m
shabas the reb was able to go in shabas
till 12:00 m shabas and we had me and
the rebel were learning perkus
together and rabbi grman arrived and the
minute he arrived was a young he told
all of us we had a few people at the
15th time in the we have to get
up that's went rise up he made us all
rise up is here that's what he called it
yeah
yeah he liked me said every was like
interesting yeah the basic stuff he bas
it on the everything there.
Mhm.
A lot of people ask about late Dominus
also because he was not ready for the
right I remember one time I would share
this is not in the book although I went
through the story so was M shabas and he
didn't feel good was not able to even
dig before this man he never ever when I
was with him all the years he never ded
like Sunday was not shabas
I lost
M before this one time I ded away the
Kab told me in barak the reb is not
feeling not I to wait so I came 3:00 in
the afternoon to the reb is walking out
and he tells me he's looking for a
minion and I said what minion was the
reb from from last night it's the first
time first time
okay we the minion said up there in the
third floor I have 15 people waiting for
me and one of them
is the one I mentioned before when is a
close he's also waiting they sleeping
there they're waiting for my ding I went
up I called him reb was quarter to three
mhm that's the first time and the last
time I ever saw that he
[Music]
ded from
and it tells me I said Moses it's not I
didn't want to I want to d so faith. I
was not able to you was not ready and
was not able and then they went to the
mik had these gods to ask him
say he didn't want to say he didn't feel
good he said that he has was a big
cold and he used to very often happen by
him such a thing is in this time I was
masha with him and it's happened by me
once
You know that's he say he was saying
that he saw such yeah
interesting. Yeah. Yeah. Now I know we
we could we could talk for for quite a
while but time is running out. Yeah. I
can give you one story for time running
out. I can sit a whole night as a
neighbor. I listen before this interview
I could tell the viewers we spoke quite
a few times. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And uh we
we spoke for hours because
you're and as you've mentioned to me in
our own conversations that besides for
the ribbon you were to be with with many
other maybe we'll have you back another
time to talk uh to talk about those but
yeah you wanted to say a story what
story I wanted to tell you is I going to
tell you asked me how's the safer going
how people like it is I said to I
answered you. We
say cried very much when he said
that night. Mhm. And he was domining
that night once. But
[Music]
such after he
finished, he was saying to all of us,
And then he says new of the what's new
is going on in the world. Is everybody
safe or wants to go in a in a
conversation or do they hide everything?
What
is what's loose in the world? He was
asking I was touching what we what are
we doing we were holding in the wall. We
already
that's what he was nas that was his
although he made it sound like he didn't
mean the the general nas that's why when
you give out this book people
the everything is in this safer is
yahem me we looking in this book we're
reading we have
is we going connecting to the hashem
with the harshe with the mountain for
hashem is
You go again and again. You don't give
up. You're learning just like a
This book is not wrote this
book. This
is on a daily
basis. Another thing I before we finish
is I wanted to
say tonight is we have now it's Thursday
after this already Thursday night. We
can use that. The reb every Thursday
night in Borak used to say in up in
heaven they have the kamagot. If you say
his name you can pil anything you want
really and just light a candle for him.
He was
called and also if you
mention this is the he was the the
father of
the even you can play with everything
you want both sadikim specifically yeah
Thursday night Thursday night I asked
him what's tell in him it's a big rash
that from this sadikim if you mention
his name you can go from there and
whatever you want. It was a person named
Schwarz. He lived in he came he used to
known for is he used to go to hospitals
get he came every Thursday night when
the rebels was
in he gave names they need and they all
got helped
you're fine. I have to ask you one final
question. You was to be a close of the
Yeah. And then one day
the what did you do then?
It's hard. I got to tell you the truth.
I was going over his
songs
every It's like I was with him. This is
very hot. Very hard. Like he was crying
for the
mdish. It says whoever
cries say that
right
the
right. Yeah. And he
had that he
cried. He was mom is crying with his
eyes. Such a tears. I never I wish I can
hear it again. does was I
remember he had a different by getting
to like a happiness like but it was this
was also the one of one of his
domin heard his voice dominating that
that you were like feeling it. We're
gonna be to see Mashia in our days and
especially we're going through with the
with the M right they had him war I
heard it from his own mouth he was that
time
19 73 and that's he came out for Russia
and he went over to the bash the war
they were throwing bounds and everything
and he was crying
to he says why are you sleeping why
don't you go to us they killing people
that people
are do something and he told me that
after a few days of the war was no war
so it was a short time a short war right
he said the
wow even he went
to this anybody with the name he used to
tell him the story he was an Israel that
years he goes the sh and he writes on
names on the quitt on a paper and he
puts it on the two minutes later he he
got in mind he forgot to write another
name he's looking all over
we see sees no and he asked everybody
did you by mistake touch the
quiddle no
yeah noi he answered to everybody I know
what happened noi alone took the quiddle
wow Yeah,
thank you for coming in. Yeah. Yeah. My
pleasure. I can see. Thank you for
sharing of your memories together with
the Reb both. I even
had one of your writers in high school
very we we fank a little bit together
and he asked me what he only writes in
every sadic a short write a short thing
and he said what can I say about the
rim? He told me that eight years ago. I
said he can say one word. This he asked
me once after breaking his mask two
days. He tells me my kin my child who is
your best friend that you love the most
and I was thinking so the reb is a
rather the reb and he was smiling a big
smile. No, I want to hear something
better. Come on. And he saw didn't
answer him. He took his finger the and
he went like this.
The Reb tells me, I will tell you, my
child is
there. Yeah. Your best friend that loves
you the most, the one above above us. He
went on and on two times. The third time
he
said, "You have no other friend. Only
there."
I know. That's why I have to remember.
That's why he's living with us not only
with all the sadik that he teached us
you know and we have to be now is
the should
for you
for should be able to
beh and you yourself you should be
tremendous
and you kill your time I Thank you for
having Thank you for the fire. Thank you
for giving me the time. Yeah. And we
had we have to also thank him a lot for
his every come out every few days he
called me. It was such a
like other story. Another story limit.
Well, thank you again. Take care. So
