[Music] when you join atala you pretty much signed up for 247 365 something that is always on your mind in the background my day-to-day business takes a lot of my time and a lot of my focus it could be talking to my managers or talking to employees I take care of my customers and my decorators certain times I just go out and check on the installations I work the night shift in the hospital so during the day I try to spend thisone much time I can with my kids playing with them and being there with them but no matter what time of the day it is and no matter what I'm middle of in a moment's notice you're out when that radio goes off I'm out in the RL North Wood 60y old cardiac RL 93 it's literally changing the channel RL 26 one second being focused on the day-to-day business and the next second you just totally in hatala mode my mind takes over I don't think about it I just go sometimes it can be an hour sometimes it could be two when I come back work is still waiting for me RL 130 you just pick up your radio and you go before you even answer you start running towards the door you start running to your car you want to be the person there to help them when it's an emergency when that clock starts ticking there was no time to waste we received a call for a 65-year-old male with chest pain and some difficulty breathing when we have a call of this nature time is really a Essence as we don't know if this can end up being a heart attack and then every minute really counts like my wife said if it was her grandfather or her family member how long can you wait until somebody comes when you call hopefully we'll be able to assess the situation right away see what the patient needs and get him to a cardiac hospital as soon as possible how you doing sir not too good what's going on I have pain around my heart RL 26 T Rose medic station my partner is going to give you a little oxygen to help you feel a little better I'm going to just check your blood pressure real quickly okay okay okay I'm going to put some oxygen on you now okay okay this is a patient that literally minutes matter and the patient could die if he's not given care right away the heart is a muscle that needs blood constantly literally every second every minute that it's being deprived of that blood which is what a heart attack is more and more of that muscle become [Music] dead we were called by the BLS to a uh house where a gentleman was having chest pain we found him on his couch in his house on oxygen guys what do you got so we have a 68-year-old gentleman who's been Hing a chest pain on and off over the last week sir how's the pain it's really sharp on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is the pain bad of seven bad of seven and can you point where the pain is overall the patient was alert and talking to us but still had that chest pain probably something serious going on and it was important that we were there to help him we're going to start an IV on you you're going to feel a small pinch okay the patient was still having some chest pain we hooked them up to our EKG and we saw some EKG changes so we suspected that he might be having a heart attack all right we're going to attach a couple more stickers to you okay we're going to do a more in-depth EKG okay could be PR me we're going to get you up to the hospital okay the STP time is crucial when a person's having a heart attack to identify to get him to the right location to the right hospital where he can get treated as [Applause] [Music] such we are Span in an instant and that's what saves people like this because anything longer than an instant could mean the difference between life and [Music] [Applause] death put on it's the M of hatala in an instant a child stops breathing in an instant someone gets hit by a car in an instant things happen and we respond to that in that very same [Music] instance
