Important BH Update For Pesach

a lot of widows uh orphans uh divorces people that are simply struggling uh contacting us uh people that we know that have been on the list since we had the event last year and uh we're trying to do the best that we possibly can uh to uh to help as many as we can we have a whole list you know some people are trying to contact us even now uh that we all know them we really uh feel bad but we can't help everybody uh but uh there's the stories are horrible and and I'll start off with uh with this uh today I uh anyone that looks at the campaign right now goes to bhpessa.org we'll see we haven't really raised much money but uh here you'll see a receipt uh for wire transfer for a little over 85 000 that uh you know that I sent this uh this morning and uh more will be sent uh in so many words we're following what the Torah says who did me a favor first and I will pay him as we do every year uh it's a sometimes uh seven pays back right away sometimes he takes his time but needless to say if you do what uh you know what what the Sam wants you to do for his children you're never going to lose even though it's a lot of pressure it's a lot of stress it's a lot of moving Parts but it's certainly something that's necessary and especially when you hear the stories and some of these people we need to help them on a monthly basis and even on a weekly basis and one of the stories that came to us is a woman that uh and his wife know for many years she's actually uh the kids going to school together the older kids uh older I mean 12 years old uh and um lastly we helped him though Hashem we gave them a uh I believe it was a thousand shekels and this year they uh she called and asked if we're gonna be able to help me he said we have this program for the shots but she's a you know her husband left her because she did juvent with the kids and uh he doesn't want to do chuba he wants to uh you know remain a uh an animal in so many words and uh he ended up leaving her and uh he's leaving out without he left it with nothing this was already the last couple years but we never really knew how bad the situation was until this uh last week when she told us uh that uh even to forget about the holiday uh you know having money for the you know to buy matzah to buy wine to buy you know chicken meat anything for the holiday forget just about that we're talking about uh to feed the kids in the morning breakfast she doesn't have jealous uh so when you hear stories like this you know it's not stories fairy tales that people you know sometimes they text message me uh listen Rabbi can you help me out I'm struggling you know and then you know you hear some details yeah listen you know I I paid my rent I have food and everything I just I really need to get this new suit I need to get this new suit so I was wondering if you could send me a couple hundred dollars that's unfortunately struggling in the American uh deformed mind when I say struggling to you guys I'm talking about food I'll talk about the very basic needs of life and when a person tells me that uh she's a uh a divorced mother that uh has uh you know I believe three or four kids and she doesn't have food to feed the kids in the morning a couple hundred dollars not gonna hold you have to obviously try to do whatever we can on a monthly basis and this is some of the things that we've done over the years with different some people have uh you know somebody very sick in the family so they need some money for that some people have uh just different types of troubles uh you know financial troubles uh you know medical problems all types of things and what ends up happening is that during this time of the year the stories somehow all pile up all at the same time all the new stories we know all these old stories but there's always new stories that join and uh aside from asking you guys to try to be generous and as generous as you possibly can to help us with this campaign because as you see I mean again we're already out a hundred thousand dollars uh between the two campaigns with a couple hundred thousand dollars in and we haven't even you know uh raised a quarter of it uh so aside from being generous uh in the campaign uh and if we raise more than that if you guys you know uh decide to be the messengers of Hashem to help us then certainly we're gonna be able to help even more whatever you guys sent to us we're gonna use for people we're not paying my rent with it I'm not uh you know buying any uh any uh any Ferraris with it all the money that we get uh to my knowledge we're the only organization that actually gives all of the money and more to the actual people uh you know that we actually raise every year we always end up giving a lot more money than what we end up raising provides for us in different ways throughout the year but this time we're uh we're in a situation where um I'm asking if any of you guys are also interested in taking on uh taking on a family and uh you know we have I would say uh a good number of families uh that uh need help on a monthly basis and uh you know we don't want to obviously embarrass anybody and uh you know make things complicated so we send the money to them anyway but anybody wants to take on the family that uh you could go it's anywhere from you know 500 a month to uh a couple thousand dollars a month depending on the on the need it's not necessarily always dependent on the size of the family because sometimes the older kids are able to work or or whatever but sometimes just simply you know there's some families need more than others medical issues and things like that so if any of you have have the means and are interested in actually uh going into this aside from the PESA uh you're interested in doing something on a monthly basis just specifically for this cause we don't have it on the website we don't have time to make all these campaigns if you guys are interested in it you could uh simply sign up on the website to a monthly contribution you can send me a quick text message uh to let me know this is what it's for and certainly uh uh we'll be happy to use that help because again these stories are real these are not uh fairy tales these are not you know the commercials they used to see as a kid where there was a little African boy that is in the commercial and the Fly always lands on his head and uh 30 years he's still a little boy it's still the same exact boy you know the boy is probably already seven years old already but they still use the same commercial to this day uh you know these are not fake stories these are real stories these are stories that we know firsthand we know these people and one of the things that makes it uh uh even more personal is the fact that these are tourist Scholars he's a serious so much why does he make them poor many times you know not all Scholars are rich like whereby Akiva was and uh dynasty was very rich and uh was very rich so there were many they were rich but you know there were many though very poor so this heretic was like look this is very poor uh you know why is he four why is that one for why if they're so righteous says something that we're making up Everything is verifiable Everything is sourced everything is clear and one of the things that um you see in the world today is that every thing is more upside down than ever before where the Israeli government is doing everything possible to declare an open war against the Torah where they literally want the religious people to know that they're hated uh so much so that uh they're willing to do anything in their power to not help anyone that is even Shabbat a basic religious person they're willing to you know if there's Government funding for anything you know to whether it's to help children or to uh to uh to help the parents or to help health issues or anything like that there's always funding for that if you are a secular person there's funding for that they give you money uh if you're going to some type of drama school you're going to be an actor you're going to be a singer you're going to be some type of theater there's tons of money for them billions of dollars uh if there is a uh some type of uh um terrorist you know that that hasn't really committed terrorism yet but he's certainly a criminal and no problem there's hope for that if he's Arab oh there's a ton of money for him ton of money for him but if you are a religious Torah scholar okay what we can do is 50 shekels a month 50 shekels a month per child so what do you have you have the uh 10 kids all right we'll send you 500 checkers now just so you know anyone that went to Israel whoa 140. and when we're doing these types of campaigns when we're giving it to all these people this is exactly what you're doing this is the highest level of simply because you don't know the person that you're getting you're giving it to and they don't know you you know you have us as the middleman so this is literally the highest level of and the uh says this is something that raises a person to higher than Washington now of course uh you know some people say oh wait so I could just behind them with uh 500 bucks a month okay you know what I'll give a thousand I'll be high to God like the heretic stick no so uh foreign actually think that just from a you know a single act of uh they could uh become bigger than you know the greatest person that ever lived so what could such a thing mean what it's going to look like in the world it looks like they're the ones that are successful it looks like it looks like it's not true but it looks like they're the ones that are powerful they're the ones that are on the winning path so to help to help publicize the toilet at that time to help a poor Jew that dedicates his life to the Torah at that time that is going to elevate a person to the 50th level of kadusha a level that even could not rise to he got to the 49th level because the 50th level is something that you can only get through through this so here we have an opportunity in our generation to do something that was not possible three thousand three hundred years ago but yet at the same token because the yetzera is fighting so hard the average person will hear this be motivated will show up in order to cool them off and that's why I say to you guys you have to think about eternity not just think about this week or this month you have to try to do whatever you can to make commitments longer term commitments understand what's on the line because at the end of it all this is one of the things that a person is going to cry for not having not having a part of so with that literally dozens and dozens of families that some we help from time to time some we help regularly and some we help uh you know whenever possible uh if you're interested in taking on a family and how much you want to do it that would be fantastic but regardless of all of that always understand these types of things uh you know these are responsibilities and I know that a lot of people like to help people and many times they believe that they're helping people and uh sometimes uh I I wonder whether uh of people realize who and what they're having so in this case we know who will be [Applause]
