[Music] my teachers are the best in imagine Academy I like to turn from my journal imagine Academy is the best this school is the [Music] best having a child with autism in the home could be extremely disruptive and extremely difficult when families come to us they're lost and they're frightened about the future for their child we were at a standstill we really felt unsupported with Ronnie in his educational needs and with his social needs when they come here they realize that they are now part of a family the kids that are in this place I mean these kids are really the most special kids in the [Music] World Imagine we started on almost 20 years ago as a support group for parents with children with autism the beginnings of Imagine were very humble but very dramatic because we really needed a solution and we needed it quickly we started in a house a few blocks away from our building now we had 12 and then 13 students imagine wasn't driven from the top down we worked together the parents with the professionals There's Something About the Passion and the connection behind all of the interaction that the staff have once Ronnie entered imagine he has been so successful we are a very unique program we are the only program that provides two methods of working with students a structured learning method and a social emotional method i' imagine the focus is on education our goal is to help every student become the best version of themselves academically socially vocationally in every aspect of their lives they're completely completely involved in everything and every aspect of what the kids are doing and the best part is that they get us involved they have come to our home for home visits check in on Ronnie they've come with me to doctor's appointments with my son so our mission is not just the child our mission is the family if we are not supporting the family then we are not doing our job as educators [Music] I like to play with a toys something that's really important to our families is that our students receive the same quality consistent education that their siblings get we are the community school for children with special needs our ratio of students to teachers is almost 1 to one and our staff is really just unparalleled their commitment to the children is just unequal the cost of running a program like this obviously is very expensive imagine Academy individualized es their education to my son's needs every single child has a different education program I am just so lucky to have them and Ronnie so lucky to have them I feel like I'm walking to a place where you just feel Angels [Music] everywhere we've been in this existing building on east4 for over 10 years we cannot currently meet the needs of our students in our space we've bought a large lot we're going to build a state-of-the-art building we're going to more than triple the size of the existing building we'll have stateoftheart therapy rooms and we'll be able to take and help more children and families from top to bottom you going to feel the love that your child needs and your child deserves come take a look come come see the place I promise you you will not leave here without wanting to bring your child here that's a guarantee the one piece of feedback I always get is wow it's so warm here this feels like a family we invite you to come see what we're about come visit our classrooms come feel and be a part of the imagined family I promise once you come you won't want to leave our new building is going to be a magnificent groundup construction we're going to have a lot of dedication opportunities and this will really be a crown jewel of our community and the broader community at large we're going to need to show off this piece as really a showpiece of what we do [Music]
