continuing on with the 14 principles that the r lays out for how to decipher which Mitzvah mentioned in the Torah count towards the 613 that are mentioned in the Gar so today we're going to go from Rules 4 till 9 rule number four a Mitzvah must be specifically stated clearly in the Torah in order to count a Mitzvah that is a general thing like when hasm says do all my mitzvos that's not counted towards the 613 rule number five sometimes the Mitzvah is given together with a reason the reason is not a separate Mitzvah rule number six if Torah says you shall do something and also you shall not are referring to the same thing for example keep shabas do not desecrate shabas those are two separate Mitzvah one positive and one prohibition rule number seven if there are different ways for one Mitzvah to be performed for example if a wealthy person needs to bring a sin offering he needs to bring a beautiful animal but if a poor person needs to bring a sin offering there's different he could bring a bird he could bring flow whatever the thing is it's one Mitzvah that can be performed in different ways number eight not every time the Torah says do not do something does that mean that it's a Prohibition counting towards the 613 could be sometimes it's just a warning not to do something and Rule Number Nine even if a Mitzvah is mentioned multiple times like for example keeping shabas is mentioned more than 10 times it only counts for one Mitzvah we will see you tomorrow
