guys I'm back here with PUD Diamond
fromed Medical Center question to the
doctor is pis is around the corner we
going to be eating a lot of uh high
cholesterol foods like fatty Meats um
extra portions of eggs what does doct
say how we should keep ourselves healthy
throughout the Fantastic question
actually just a little education about
cholesterol is that extol is a natural
and essential component of our body we
need it to function our body naturally
produces it uh and the reason why we
need it is because our cells that make
up our body our building blocks are have
cholesterol in it it's a major component
uh as well as a lot of different
hormones that help us function as well
as you know vitamins that we need for
our body all have cholesterol as part of
it as well so cholesterol is actually
very important but obviously has to be
done with uh moderation now how do we
stay healthy on yam fantastic let's get
to it so there's a lot of different
types of fats there's something called
saturated fats which actually are raise
what's called bad cholesterol in our
body triglycerides and those can clog
Our arteries and KAS lead to heart
disease and blood vessel disease and
then something called unsaturated fats
those unsat unsaturated fits actually
lower the bad cholesterol and raise good
cholesterol there is something called
good cholesterol so you know what's
considered a saturated fat classic
examples are different types of meat red
meat beef lamb lamb chops as well as in
the dairy compartment you know butter um
ice cream uh different types of cheeses
is those type of things actually have
high saturated fats and actually are not
great for us uh something else which
actually a very common uh Staple in a
PES household is uh macaroons macaroons
have coconuts in it so coconuts coconut
oil those type of that is actually has a
lot of saturated fat in it and it's
didn't know that yeah correct it's
actually as tasty as as it is and that's
maybe why it's very tasty but it is
actually not great for us because it has
so much uh saturated fat um and there's
obviously uh unsaturated fats which
again as I said are actually healthy for
us and good for us so uh what are
examples of unsaturated fats uh those
are different types of nuts cashews
almonds um avocado avocado fantastic one
avocado oil sometimes people can use
that as well those actually even though
you know they have fat but it's actually
not the bad form of the fat where does
eggs come in picture I know when I was
young I was told you can't eat more than
two eggs a day is that's something
that's
uh that's a very good question actually
eggs actually has a lot of different
things in it uh it has a mix of what's
you know of the unsaturated fats it has
um you know poly and monounsaturated
fats as well as a little bit of the
saturated fat as well uh and then it
does have high cholesterol but the
cholesterol in it actually is not as bad
because what raises the bad cholesterol
in our body is really the saturated fat
so eating an extra egg or two is not as
bad as eating uh a lot of extra fatty
Meats but again everything with
moderation and then some great examples
for of polyon curated fats are the
omega-6 fatty acids and omega-3 fatty
acids an omega-6 classic example is cot
seed oil which can according to most
authorities be used on pesak as well as
omega3 famous is the a lot of different
fishes for example sammon tuna sardines
Herring these are fantastic fishes which
have good components good fatty acids
which raise the good cholesterol in our
body and our uh essential to our diet so
how do we go through pesak enjoying it
but as well it's being healthy so what I
would advise is that the main things
that you eat on pesak should obviously
be like lean meats chicken
turkey if you're going to fry uh any
schnitzel it should be done in olive oil
cotton seed oil avocado oil avocado oil
walnut oil uh these are all oils that
are uh have unsaturated fat which is
again raises the good cholesterol in our
body um and again if you want to have
obviously your macaroons and you going
to have a steak again you want to have
enjoyable yam you could have here and
there obviously in moderation enjoy it
but again just don't do it in excess and
M them you have a great yff and you'll
be healthy all right
