I'm standing right now in the city of
Hanoi in the heart of Vietnam and we
just finished Shabas. Believe it or not,
there is a shul in Hanoi which although
small was filled with people and it was
filled with light. And I'm and as I was
standing there today listening to
Curatory, one thing hit me hard and that
is that no matter where you go in the
world, from Alaska to Brazil, from
Moscow to Melbourne, from the peaks of
Africa to the neon streets of Tokyo,
when a Jew walks into a Shaw and opens a
safer Tyra, it's the exact same Tyra,
letter for letter, word for word. The
scroll here in Vietnam is identical to
the one in Argentina and to the one in
Brooklyn and to the one in Milan. They
are all the same. Isn't that absolutely
mind-blowing? The Jewish people are the
world's oldest continuously existing
religion. And yet, we have the least
amount of discrepancy in our
foundational text in any religion. We
have been exiled to more country than
any group of people on earth. And yet,
we have the most accurate and
wellpreserved heritage. Isn't that
amazing? You know how many meaningful
differences exist between our Torah
scrolls around the globe? Zero. Now
compare that to other religions. The
Christians in their New Testament, they
have around 138,000 words in it. And yet
there are over 400,000
textual variants. That means there are
more changes in the New Testament than
there are words. The Quran, it has
hundreds of versions that have existed
across centuries with historic efforts
by certain groups of Muslims to burn
copies that didn't match other copies.
The Jews, the same Tyra we read today is
the exact Tyra we received over 3,000
years ago at our Senai. That's not just
preservation. That's called divine. It
tells you everything you need to know
about the Jewish people, about our
mission, about our God. We may be
scattered across the earth, but our soul
beats in one rhythm. Our people follow
one fire. And no matter how far you go,
if you're looking for the truth, you
open a safer Tyra. It never changes. It
never gets updated. It stays the same.
And you want to know why? Because truth
never goes out of style.
