Are You Raising A Mozart ? -My Trip to SALZBURG

After exploring [music] the breathtaking country of Slovenia, we made our way about 200 miles west [music] to the city of Salsburg, Austria. Nestled in the Austrian Alps, right near the German border, a city of mountains, [music] a city of castles, a city of music, and perhaps most famously of all, the birthplace of Wolf Gang Amadeus Mozart. Just hearing the name Mozar brings to [music] mind one of the most extraordinary figures in the history of music. A child prodigy whose story begins right here in this [music] beautiful Austrian city. So let's take a look at the man behind the name and the remarkable story that began right here in [music] Salsburg. Welcome to the city of Salsburg, Austria. A city of mountains, a city of castles, a city of music, and perhaps most famously of all, the home of Mozart right down the road. Now, when people think of the name Mozart, they think, "Okay, yeah, he was a great musician." But that's like saying the Grand Canyon [music] is a nice ditch. Mozart wasn't merely a musical genius. He was one of the greatest geniuses the world has ever seen [music] or produced, period. And the wild part is that his genius showed up almost immediately. By the age of five, Mozart was already composing music. By the age of six, he was performing before royalty. By the age of eight, he had written an entire symphony. Now, stop and think about that for a second. A symphony isn't a [music] child banging on a piano. A symphony is dozens of musicians and violins and cellos and flutes and trumpets and drums. Each instrument playing a different part. Each musician needing to know exactly when to enter and exactly when to play. Most six-year-olds will start figuring out how to tie their shoes. You're lucky if your six-year-old knows how to ride a bike without crashing into a mailbox. And here is Mozart hearing [music] entire musical worlds in his head. Worlds that are so complicated and complex that grown adults barely figure them out in their adulthood. [music] But here's the part that most people don't know. Mozart didn't become Mozart by himself. His father led Mozart recognized that his son possessed something extraordinary and he refused to let it go to waste. He taught him, he pushed him, he traveled thousands of miles across Europe with him. He put him in front of audiences. He nurtured the gift. He invested in it. He believed in it. even when others didn't. And that's where the story becomes relevant to us because let's be honest, most of us are not Mozart anywhere near Mozart. Most of us not writing symphonies at age six. But maybe that's not the point. Sometimes we think our biggest [music] problem is that we aren't gifted enough. If I only had more talent, if I only had more intelligence. If I only had more opportunities. But what if that's not the issue at all? What if the real issue is that we're not surrounded by people noticing? We're surrounded by gifts. but not by people who notice. Like a child with incredible potential that nobody is encouraging, or a teenager with tremendous strengths that nobody's developing, or an adult who stopped believing in himself years ago. Sometimes the problem isn't a lack of talent. Sometimes the problem is a lack of vision. No one saw Mozart's future except a handful of people. But those people change history because they recognize what was there. And maybe that's one of the greatest responsibilities we have to look at our children to look at the people around us to look at ourselves and ask what greatness is hiding here that nobody has noticed yet what gift has hashem placed inside [music] this person what potential is waiting to be developed because every child won't become mozzar but every child has something every Jew has something every nishama has something and history changes when someone believes in that potential enough to help it Bro, Mozart's father didn't create his son's gift. Hashem did. But he recognized it. He nurtured and developed it. And maybe the next great symphony in the world isn't waiting for talent. It's just waiting for someone to develop it.
