The Light Hidden Within Reality 🌠

I want to talk about a mind-blowing scientific discovery that was hiding right in our living rooms. >> [music] >> If you remember the old bulky televisions with antennas on top, you probably remember what happened when there was no signal. The screen filled with gray flickering snow, and the speakers produced that annoying white noise. Where did that snow come from? The antenna was simply picking up random radio waves from space. In 1964, scientists made a [music] discovery that later earned a Nobel Prize. About 1% of that flickering snow was actually [music] light from the Big Bang. The very first light of creation never disappeared. As the universe [music] expanded, it cooled, stretched, and became invisible waves that still fill our universe today. The light is always there. But because our devices cannot decode it, we experience it only as static. Science discovered this in the 1960s. [music] But Jewish mystical tradition described a similar idea thousands of years ago. >> [music] >> Nearly 2,000 years ago, the Babylonian Talmud in tractate Hagigah teaches that on the first day of creation, an [music] infinite and pure light was created. But the world was not ready to contain it, >> [music] >> so the creator hid it. The Talmud says, "He hid it for the righteous in the future." This became known as the hidden light. But this raises a question. If the light was hidden away for the future, >> [music] >> how could we experience it today? About 300 years ago, the Baal Shem Tov, founder of the Hasidic movement, offered a powerful answer. [music] The light was not locked away in heaven. It was hidden inside the Torah, >> [music] >> inside the mitzvot, within the fabric of this world. The light is already here. The only problem is the direction of [music] our antenna. In daily life, our minds are tuned to survival, ego, pressure, and fear. When our inner radio is tuned to that frequency, we see problems, [music] bad news, and people who frustrate us. We become convinced the world is dark. >> [music] >> But this is where the incredible technology of the Torah comes in. A mitzvah is like turning the frequency dial [music] on the radio of the soul. When we give charity, we move from ego to giving. >> [music] >> When we bless a glass of water, we move from autopilot to gratitude. When we judge someone favorably, we clear [music] the static from our antenna. In that moment, our inner frequency aligns with the hidden light. Suddenly, something [music] changes. We feel clarity. We experience divine providence. The world is the same, >> [music] >> but the static fades, and we begin to see meaning and connection. We do not need to wait for someone to turn on the light in the world. >> [music] >> The light of the first day has always been here. We only need to turn the dial within our hearts and begin to receive it.
