[music] >> With Hashem's loving grace, this is Laser Brody from Ashdod in the beautiful Mediterranean coast in the south of Israel with a special Chol HaMoed Sukkot broadcast. This now Hashanah Rabbah in Israel and reflect on the fantastic miracles that Hashem did. We spent all night long just saying thank you to Hashem for the miracles of what Hashem avoided could have been Israel's version of 9/11 when Wednesday morning a flight from Dubai in the UAE, that's the United Arab Emirates, flight 10, Fly Dubai flight 1073 was on its way to Tel Aviv when the co-pilot who was a frenzied jihadi indoctrinated uh co-pilot from uh Oman in the Gulf, he tried to hijack the plane. He took a hatchet that was in the in the cockpit and he attacked the pilot, a brave Captain Smith Muchacha from Bombay, India, who worked for the airline, and he tried to attack the pilot, to neutralize the pilot, and his plan was to ditch the plane, make a suicide uh a suicide destruction of the plane, self-destruct, killing himself and the six crew members, the 174 passengers, most of whom were Israelis. But Hashem didn't let that happen and a series of miracles that happened, amazing miracles that we just cannot stop saying thank you for, thank you to Hashem. After they understand what happened, try to understand after the smoke has cleared a little bit, the co-pilot is in captive is Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is wouldn't release him to the Israelis. He's now being interrogated in Saudi Arabia. There are indications that is connected with Iran that was an Iran initiated with one of Iran's proxies. Uh connection that the Iran initiated that there all types of in intel reports that they plan to do not nice things during this upcoming Shabbat. Upcoming Shabbat is exactly 3 years after Simchas Torah which also landed on the Shabbat this year. It's also tomorrow on Shabbat. And uh both Hashem both Hashem Hashem had compassion for us and with miracle after miracle so see what happened. What happened when the flight was in about 8:00 on Wednesday morning, 8:00 Israel time. 8:00 [clears throat] Israel time that is in Greenwich mean that's uh 6:00 a.m. in the UK Greenwich mean which is about 2:00 a.m. in in New York. Excuse me, 1:00 a.m. in New York. That the flight took off from Dubai on its way to Israel. When it was over slightly over Saudi airspace the co-pilot attacked the pilot. And he wounded him very badly. The pilot amazingly heroically fought back. Not only he fought back but they used to when they when they locked the the cockpit door then anybody can go inside the cockpit it's locked. The pilot managed to open the cockpit door. When he opened the cockpit door three Israelis they stormed the cockpit. And one of the Israelis was a a plumber >> [clears throat] >> tremendous hero during the emergency Yaniv Hayun. He was together with a doctor with a doctor dentist who did first aid and saved the the pilot's life the first aid on pilot. And a third a third Israeli that also helped seize the pilot. Well, Yaniv Hayun he's took it put the pilot in a chokehold and with the one free hand he managed to pull back on the throttle what the pilot had done the co-pilot had done. He put the pilot into an into a dive. He tell her what the ruckus in the cockpit. The plane took a tremendous nose dive. The plane was flying There's one report says it was 30,000 ft high. Another said it was at a cruising altitude of 34,000 ft. 34,000 ft would be even a bigger miracle, but let's say it was at 30,000 ft. We do know one thing that within 30 seconds it took a nose dive of almost 15,000 ft. Almost lost half its altitude within 30 seconds. What that means at that rate, which is over 600 mph just to give you an idea, uh 767 mph is the speed of sound. It's really fast and on ground speed. And it's not just usually when a plane stalls and goes into a nose dive it is like in a velocity nose dive and it doesn't have the speed. This was a force nose dive at full speed. And plane can't and it's not a This is a commercial plane. It's not a fighter plane that's meant to dive like that to dive dive bomb. It's not a dive bomber. So, what it did went into a flight within another 30 seconds it would have crashed. If another 10 seconds would have passed would have transpired then it would have finished. They they couldn't pull out of the they couldn't pull that craft out of the nose dive. What Ynef Hayoun did, with one hand he pulled back on the throttle, pulled all the way back to the nose dive. First he he knew this he was a a hobbyist and airline hobbyist. He watched movies about airplanes. He knew pull back on the throttle, pulled it out of the nose dive. Another miracle is that were two off-duty pilots were on that flight. They came in and they could took control of the the the the the craft. So, the amazing thing that miracle number one was that that pilot, despite he was very seriously injured, being operated in Saudi Arabia now, and very seriously injured and lost a lot of blood. Anybody else would lost consciousness. He managed to open the door and so that the Israelis could have come in. That the Israeli passengers that they sensed something was wrong. Well, they knew it was wrong cuz the plane was in a nose dive. The lights in the cockpit were off. They they flashed off the after the they went they went back on. The plane the automatic uh communication of the plane was conveying already a mayday to the mayday to the towers in the area. And plane was in a dangerous nose dive. 10 seconds more would have transpired. They couldn't pulled it out. But what they did at the managed to level out at 15,000 ft. Could have kept down there so 50,000 ft to the ground. 50,000 ft to the ground at the at the speed they were going, another 30 seconds, there would have been nothing more. It would have been six crew members, 174 Israelis, and that would be it. And it would be it would be a day of mourning here in Israel rather than a day of joy and Hoshanah Rabbah, it would be a day of mourning. And we see the miracle. The another miracle is there since some aerodynamic engineers, experienced pilots, they've come to weigh in. And they said there is no way that the fuselage of that airline that could that airplane that Boeing 737 could have suffered the dive normal with the something natural occurrence would been that it would have lost its wings. The wings would have broken off. As it was, the tail broke off. And that tail stabilizes the aircraft. And another miracle is that the off-duty pilots managed to safely land in the emergency landing, but that aircraft landed safely and nobody was killed. Nobody was killed and just to the pilot, there was one passenger at the end of the 74 that was injured. Miracle after another and the co-pilot had a had a hatchet. He could have murdered several people. Well, he was overcome. That's another miracle. We see the miracle the fact that with 10 seconds left, how many at 10 seconds count the 10? With 10 seconds between life and death. Not really 30 seconds. 30 seconds to crashing on the ground, but 10 seconds between life and death. And just the look the the numbers that you could find these numbers on on on all the open people don't analyze it. Don't realize that the extent of the miracles. Uh the miracle that the air the aircraft survived that dive, that is nothing short of divine intervention. That was a decree of Hashem that they should live, they should live. So, we see when Hashem does these miracles, that behooves all of us because we have we say in the mission of all of Israel are guarantors that all of Israel are guarantors for one another. When someone another fellow Jew is in trouble, I'm in trouble. When a miracle happens to him, it's like a miracle happens to me. So, when the miracles happen, we have to see that hey, wait a second. What what's a miracle? Miracles are miracles above nature. What's emunah? Belief in Hashem, that's above nature. Well, people don't want to believe because they would can't think their logic. That that that doesn't doesn't fit their logic. That the Torah's laws doesn't fit their logic. But where miracles begin, that's where logic leaves off. Where emunah begins, where faith begins, that's where logic leaves off. Hashem wants to show us that Hashem doesn't need the laws of nature to run the world. That all aerody aerodynamics and the whole faculty of MIT and Penn State and Texas A&M and the best engineering faculties in in the world can say that pilot that plane should have been destroyed and Sham decides would be destroyed. That's it. Like they say in the in the Israeli army, if Sham decides that a broom could shoot then the broom will shoot. And if Sham decides that a sophisticated cannon will not shoot then it won't shoot. So it's just a take opportunity that all of us should say Psalm 100. Miss Mola Todah Hilu Sham Kol Ha'aretz. Say thank you to Hashem and not stop saying thank you to Hashem cuz what happens when show our gratitude for these miracles, Hashem shows us even more miracles. And we should say Baruch Hashem, thank you Hashem that this disaster was averted. And we hope that this brings a lot of spiritual awakening and arousing. People open their eyes and not have to wait till there's another Gaza war and another abductions and tragedies to wake us up. We should wake up in the good times when see what Hashem does these wonderful miracles for us and nobody gets hurt. This is the time to wake up. So with that, everyone should have a wonderful Shabbat and Simchat Torah and we should hear good news from each other. Amen.
