B Hashem. Tonight we're learning the
second lesson of Master of Prayer. And I
always try to review the beginning of
the lessons uh to get everyone gets on
the same page. It's going to take us
about seven lessons to finish Master of
Prayer. So the review at the end might
be a little bit challenging because
every time the review gets a little bit
shorter, but what you could do if you
have time, go back and see the whole
lesson, the whole part one. So imagine a
country that glorifies wealth. That's
tonight's lesson. Tonight's lesson, the
country of wealth. And these people,
people in this country, they have these
different gods. And the gods have names
like uh Warren Buffett and Bill Gates
and Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. These are
so billionaires. They worship
billionaires. But they have other idols
too. They have movie idols and sports
idols. So what they do is they create
their own human constellations, human
stars. They have movie stars and sports
stars and all stars. This is this all
they have this whole religion of
idolatry that all follows in money. This
Rabbi Nakman saw everything that was
going on. He saw this 200 years ago more
than 220 years ago when he when he wrote
this. Rabbi Nakman left us uh 215 years
ago and he wrote this about 220 years
ago. But Rabbi Nakman is as if the
saddic of the generation is on a high
high mountain. I can see far into the
distance and it's far into the into the
time distance the time element distance
far into the future. So we're not
continuing with the master of prayer and
many people consider this reb's finest
tale. A lot of the imagery is very heavy
coalistic and it has lots of esoteric uh
references to Torah.
I'm not use translating it and
interpreting it this the story uh more
or less the way Reb said of the world as
see today our simple understanding a
simple understanding the world today and
what is going to happen before Msiah
comes okay so this is Rabbi is talking
about uh the lies of this world the
follyies of this world the myths of this
world and what we need for global
rectification the final rectification so
first let's review part One, the master
of prayer was a righteous man who
devoted his life to serving the
Almighty. And he spent his days in
seclusion, praying and singing songs of
praise to the Almighty. And he engaged
constantly in spiritual growth. But much
more than his concern for himself and
his own spiritual growth was concern for
other people. And he had such cared
about other people. He cared that other
people should know that they have a
soul, that they're not just body, they
have a soul. So what he did he would go
he was out been in the outback he had a
little retreat in the wilderness and he
would make sorties into the cities into
the towns and there he would speak words
of spiritual vi spiritual ad arousal and
he wouldn't talk to crowds he talk to
one person at a time one person at a
time was telling us about the the job of
the chhattic generation has to is like a
shepherd of hashem's flocks and he has
to worry about each individual sheep
each indiv individual one of Hashem's
flex that's we always stress that every
single one of us is a unique son a
unique daughter of Hashem that you're an
only son you're an only daughter because
she has no one else like you and that's
why Hashem created you unique and that's
the signature on your thumb print that
nobody else has the same print so more
and more people were finding meaning in
the master prayer's message so many left
their homes to join him out in his
spiritual enclave far from settled areas
was peace and away from the bustle of
the city and the and and and the the
hurry of the city and the worry of the
city and all the troubles out there. It
was peace, just peace.
So this exquisite retreat in the
wilderness was self-sufficient with an
adjacent river and many fruit trees. So
they had everything they needed to eat
and to drink and to spice themselves.
And people were otherwise unconcerned
with worldly affairs. They didn't care
how they dressed. It wasn't a fashion
show out in the wilderness when you're
walking in the field, walking by the
river and speaking to Hashem. Shem
doesn't care how you dress to dress
modest. But they would spend time like
their master, the master of prayer,
their teacher would spend time in
exclusive divine service, praying and
singing to Shem and learning. Well, in
time, the master of prayer made a huge
impression in the world because more and
more people were coming to him. But not
only he but his leading students it was
geometrically just didn't add other
students. He is he's taught his his
leading disciples they themselves went
into the towns and the cities to pass on
the message of the master of prayer.
That's what the master of prayer wanted.
Now something we have to understand
here. Rabbi Nan is teaching us a lesson.
If someone gives you a loan,
uh, a monetary loan. If you pay back too
much, that's interest. That's forbidden
in the Torah. And if you pay back too
little, that is, uh, thievery. That's
also forbidden to have to pay the exact
same thing. But if someone does a favor
for you, a spiritual favor. They teach
you. They bring you closer to Hashem.
You don't have to bring a spiritual
favor. You don't have to pay that back.
You give it further. In other words,
this is something bashem I know but look
down the list and many of our our group
members that's why we call we call the
amuna beam's group leaders our group
because they all become leaders
themselves they all have their own
students they go they go and the
students and the students have students
the second generation students third
generation where do we learn this we
learn it from the master of prayer the
master of prayer is basically
autobiographic of Rabbi Nakman Rabbi
Nakman he's the master of prayer he's
writing this about himself okay this is
uh Uh so in time the master of prayer he
made a huge impression on society but
when you make a huge impression on
society that the evil inclusion doesn't
like that they're now we'll soon see the
resistance that came to him. So he's
bringing people close closer to Hashem
learning people didn't realize they
thought they were just bodies they
thought life was about money going to
work eating drinking going to sleep
going back to work and so what are you
going to work for to make money what are
you making money for in order to to eat
and drink? I eat and drink because I
need Ba to work. It's like chinchilla on
the wheel. No sauce of life. No, they
work to eat and they eat to work. So
this is this is the rat race was taking
them out of this vicious cycle of the
urban society and taking out where they
discover themselves, they discover their
souls, where they discover Hashem and
develop their own relationship with
Hashem. So all of this was becoming so
popular. People that were discovering
this were loving this. They felt like
they were born brand new. You all of a
sudden you feel your soul and your soul
gets connected to Hashem and you feel
such happiness that you can't you go to
disch
you you here and go to a bar. You get a
cheap thrill here and a cheap throw
there. But no none of the joy and the
satisfaction and inner peace that people
are discovering. So all of a sudden this
make a big impression all over the all
over the country that uh
somebody would suddenly disappear from a
town, a boy would disappear from a
family in a city and someone else
disappear and it's all these
disappearing people. What's going on?
Well, the master of prayer, the word
about the master of prayer that he
sneaks in town and brings people close
to him and they said that he book they
they said slander about him that he
kidnaps people, he abducts people and
takes them out to his retreat. They
think this was not all all free. He
didn't he didn't coorse anyone. But the
master of prayer in time became public
enemy number one and the authorities he
was the number one wanted individual in
the in the entire the the entire
continent. Uh so this was everybody
tried to catch him. All the authority
all the police and the army they tried
to catch him but they couldn't because
the master of prayer was very clever and
very crafty and every time you'd come
into a town and every time you talk to
someone he had a different disguise.
Sometime he looked like a poor becker.
Sometime he looked like a nobleman.
Sometime he looked like a a merchant.
But he never looked the same. And no one
said what the description of him. Nobody
had a a description. No get a proper
description because nobody knew exactly
what he looked like. And there was
conflicting descriptions. Someone that
he spoke to and that didn't succeed in
convincing uh they said well maybe he
was like they didn't know how to
identify him. Why? Because the master
pair had something else. When he saw
that there was a person that is so far
away from his soul and so bodily
oriented and so deep in lust that he
would stop his message about Hashem and
spirituality and start speaking these
cryptic things and think about physics
or chemistry or politics somewhere and
completely confuse the person. They wait
a minute you were talking about so no
that don't you know what the economy in
in Ecuador is like today? They would say
all kinds of crazy things and people
were confused that he would make them
forget them so nobody could identify him
and were looking all up and down and
around for the master prayer. They
wanted to catch him because this is one
thing the dark side they don't want
Hashem's name to be spread but you could
sue you could teach whatever you want
but you start teaching amuna you start
teaching prayer you're going to have
you're going to have resistance. So just
like a wanted criminal that all the
authorities were seeking. Well, despite
his growing community of followers in
the wilderness, the master prayer
continued to give each one personal
attention. He had so many more followers
than he had in the beginning. But why
did he give each one personal attention?
He learned this from Hashem. We just
said before, each person is individual.
So each person has his or her own
mission on earth. And as they have their
own mission on earth, they all have
their own soul correction. That's why we
can't judge another person because the
challenges that another person has are
not like the challenges we have because
we need have challenges in our life for
our soul correction. They have
challenges and for their soul
correction. And that's why the old
expression says you can't judge a person
until you're wearing his shoes. But
nobody can wear another person's shoes
because the shoes take on the mold of a
person's foot and that's individual.
Okay. So now we're going to talk about
the second this the second part of the
first lesson when we introduce the land
of money the country of wealth.
Meanwhile there was a country where
everything was conducted according to
wealth. Stop and think who who this
reminds you of. The value of each and
every person's status was according to
the wealth. Money was not only a lust by
them but it was a religion and a way of
life. The status of each person was in
accordance with the level of income and
net wealth. And that's why you couldn't
say God in that country. But on the
money, you could write in God we trust.
[laughter] This is so prophetic. Okay?
The richest the this is really really
prophetic. The richest people were their
gods while the plain people were
considered subhuman. And the person had
didn't have much money. He was
considered a cow or a horse. He had even
less money. He was considered a bird and
even less money than that, a fish. Even
less money than that, he was an insect.
And this is all that mattered to them
was money. Well, when the master of
prayer found out that such country
existed, he was really disturbed. And
his closest students decided they saw
how disturbed their the Rebi was. And
your teacher, you have a student and you
have your teacher, your spiritual guide.
Because a student's soul is connected
with the soul of spiritual guide because
it's soul nurturing soul. And the
spiritual guide, the teacher, he learns
more from his students than he learns
from anybody else. So his soul's
connected to theirs, their soul
connected. They're very entwined souls.
So you have this entwined soul that uh
but there's a a real love affair between
students and their teacher. So these uh
these disciples they saw how upset the
Rebi was when he heard about this
country. So they said well we're going
to go to that country make the happy
we're going to go to the country and see
what we could do to rectify it. So they
decided that they would go to the
country of wealth and they would speak
to the people and try and convince them
of their folly and show them the
nonsense of worshiping and show that
that they have a soul and that that
there's a Hashem in the world. But uh
they tried, nothing helped. No matter
how much they talked, these people were
so deeply entrenched in money. It was
their life. It was their religion. And
this what they were connected to. You
know you've heard about the the
expression of a person marries for
wealth. We talked about the souls
entwined. A person is supposed to marry
to have a connection to the soul. But
there the married everything in life was
them was a connection of money.
Connection of money connection of money.
So when the money left no more
connection. Uh these people were so sick
and lost of money that they decided
that the rest of the world is sick. They
thought they were healthy. see what a
sick person thinks everybody else is
sick but he's healthy and they said but
other people they don't have money is
not a religion by them we can't believe
we can't breathe the same air as these
people so they decided that they would
go someplace way up find the highest
mountain range in the world that's way
up and not breathe the same air as
people down in the ground so maybe they
they went to the Alps the Himalayas or
somewhere Mount Reeneer who knows where
they went but they went to some hard
mountain range and they decided to make
their own country uh cuz they people
that were far away from money impure
impure just like we have in in Torah we
have ritual purity racial impurity they
were rich impure people that if you
don't have any money they're impure they
decided that they'd build their own
kingdom on the high mountains that are
higher than the rest of the world so
they breathe their own air and not be
contaminated by the same air that people
breathe down on the
and the whole country moved to the
mountains, this high mountain range, and
they settled there. What they did, they
built these tremendous fortifications
around the mountains that nobody could
get there because uh uh their worst
nightmare was that someone would come
and steal their money or rob them and
take their money. So, they had guards
that watched around the clock. Guards
guard the clock. That is the end of part
one. Now, we now go to part two. So part
two we're back on the mountains in the
country of wealth to more learn more
about the country of wealth and these
people up in the mountains they had many
many gods and all according to the level
of wealth the gods they had hierarchy
whether the different each god had
hierarchy according to their according
to the amount of money they have you go
and you look at the list of billionaires
they have their list of gods so if this
was today they'd have gods that were
named Warren Batty and Jeff Bezos and
Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates and Elon
Musk and they even took a a king that
was money oriented their king maybe
today the king is very similar to uh an
individual that's called Donald Trump
and we see Nakman's amazing
far-sightedness he didn't see these
names but he described them exactly to a
tea so since may wealth was the main
thing that's all they cared about so
much they had great wealth that a person
would have a god
You can see some of these rich people
and they don't have common sense. Maybe
they can't tie their shoes. Uh, one of
these rich people was in the the White
House and the Oval Office and and and
put his money feet on on the president's
desk. No brains. No brains. And and no,
we say in Yiddish Zch that that you have
to be before person that first you got
to be a you got to be a human being. You
got to be a mch that that human being.
No, they didn't have any Menchite. They
didn't have any. They were not at all
like they were they thought they were
gods but they were animals that the
people they condemned they were worse
than the people they condemned. And
their first fear was they feared theft.
Someone take their money and they feared
murder. If somebody murders them, then
you're gonna take their money because
but then what they'd realize that they
were all potential murderers and thieves
because when money is their religion,
they're all were willing to murder and
rob in order to get more money because
this money is their religion. This is
another expression we have in Yiddish
that on top of a of a thief's h head
burns a head. So when a a thief, he
knows he's a thief and he thinks
everybody else is a thief. Okay? So this
is what they know. They were willing to
murder for money. They were willing to
steal for money. They do do everything.
So they had guards to make sure because
they thought everything everyone else
everybody wants was their money. And
they could see that these miserly people
he say somebody says that they're so
worried about their money. Somebody's
going to take their money and their
money and their money and they don't
can't. Meanwhile, they have no enjoyment
in life whatsoever. and their false
beliefs led them to contradict
themselves. They've got guards to
protect them from thieves and they
themselves are thieves. So what the
guards are going to protect them from
themselves. They're to protect it from
the next door neighbor. Okay? But so
they hired people to perfect theft and
murder where everyone in their country
was a potential thie thie murderer. So
in their foolishness they decided oh
they need to pray. They need to pray
that the gods why they become gods that
if the god gave them so much money it
means that they're gods too. So they
prayed to the gods and they would go to
visit their god Jeff Bezos and somebody
would sacrifice his son to Jeff Bezos
and they would sacrifice people. They
would sacrifice even themselves in order
to be included in the rich god. And they
wanted to be they they added belief that
if they sacrifice themselves to one of
the rich people then they become
reincarnated as the rich person.
[laughter] It's crazy. They they even
had their own their own uh um idolatry
kabala their money idolatry kabala that
they they believed in reincarnation but
they they wanted to be reincarnated as a
rich person. So money was their amuna.
This was that just like we have light
side Amuna and money is dark side of
Buddha. What's the example of dark side
of Buddha? For example, we always say in
the Gaza war that Israel didn't succeed
in defeating Gaza in two years of war
for all the sophisticated warfare and
all. Why? Because the Hamas has 97 dark
side amuna. They have dark side amuna.
That's a dark side. It's talked about in
this week's Torah portion where Ishmael
that is murder. That's this art kamas.
They they believe that they're allowed
to murder for everything. They're
allowed to murder. Rabbi Al is going to
talk about them too. We're call we'll
see later the country of murder. Talk
about them also. Uh but we're not yet
there yet. We'll see that maybe in
lesson five or six.
But in order to defeat someone with 97
dark side amuna, level 97 dark side, you
need level 98 light side amuna, the real
deal. Well, the country as a whole, the
country as a whole is is far away from
Torah, far away from Amuna and that's
where we're we're a minority over here.
And it can see so Hashem is not letting
them doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. And
if they would understand Hamas is not
our enemy. We are our own enemy. Our
lack of amuna and all the false beliefs
we have in our lives, that's our own
enemy. And but the government doesn't
understand that and the intelligence
doesn't understand that. If they only
listen but they don't listen they don't
listen and this was the exact same thing
that happened reb's generation that the
leaders don't listen he knew the truth
and truth is right here and we can see
the shareb knew the truth
told the leaders he said don't do this
don't give back a gush katif don't give
back a a a single centimeter and don't
give into them anything they didn't
listen to and so now it's war after war
after war but you see the great leaders
of our time. Uh the great leaders of our
time, [snorts] they again are like
standing on a mountain. We're down the
valley and they see far off. They see
things that we don't see. Okay. But
despite the fact that they did
devotions, the people in the country of
wealth, they had all these prayers and
all these devotions. Even human
sacrifice to their gods of wealth.
Nothing helped. Of course, nothing
helped. They still had
thievery and they still had murder. Wait
a second. Look how contradic they built
this fortress up in the mountains at the
the several mountain peaks and they put
fortifications all around it. Nobody
could get in, but they don't understand.
They don't even understand that all the
theft and murder is coming from them
within. And whatever they do, all the
guards they put and all the
fornications, they try to dig for more
fornications. This reminds us that they
try to get better weapons, try to get an
F-35 and there's going to defeat the
F-35 doesn't defeat the enemy.
King David defeated the enemy with a
slingshot. We see that the the Macabies,
they defeated their enemies with with
the spear [snorts] they were one
one,000th
of the size of the enemy and they see
but there they keep on going with their
folly with their idolatry and keep on
going with their idolatrous services or
devotions. Despite all this, the country
was still full of murder and full of
theft. And cuz anybody who didn't
believe in their religion, he became a
thief. There's all this money up here.
That's a thief. They'll they'll steal
because they said they could if bunnies
have got money, they could do anything.
They could buy food. They can buy
clothing. And they thought that a root
of a person's existence is money. That
they thought that soul is made out of
money. And the root of a soul is money.
And this was their confused thinking.
They were really really messed up in the
country of wealth. So they made great
efforts to protect their body and not to
lose it. And they tried to bring in
money, try to import money. They tried
to bring in money from other places. So
they would send out merchants. They
would send out traders to go and trade
in other countries in order to win money
and even bring more money back into the
country. You know what the greatest
crime was in the country of wealth?
Charity. Give away your money. That's
like giving away religion. You don't
give charity in the country of wealth.
No, there's no such thing as seducka. No
such thing as charity. This was a crime.
If somebody were we we also see that and
and Sudum [clears throat] Saddam was
where you couldn't give away charity
that people were so evil. Uh so it was a
great prohibition for them and a big
crime because they said how can a person
give away the money that god has given
you know if it's the real god then the
real god gives him money to do good
things with. Okay, which this the main
thing was to have money and it could go
on and on just how how deeply embedded
they were in their lust for money. So
they had officers, they had like the
income tax department, the IRS, and
officers that observe that everyone has
as much money as they declared because
per according to their declaration,
that's the level of nobleman or god or
constellation or star that they became.
And they would have to display their
wealth wherever they went. They had to
show off their wealth. So the women had
to wear all this gold and jewels and men
had to show whatever they had to drive
Maseratis and things like that in
today's terms but they had to do things
but there and their age had to gold
covered carriages with and and even
their horses were full of of jewels and
diamonds everything they had to show off
their money and flaunt their money and
if somebody was caught as a false god
who he was prosecuted that he was acting
like a billionaire god when he was only
a multi-millionaire god. He'd be
prosecuted first prosecuted had pay a
big fine and then he was knocked down to
a lower level. Uh now sometimes you
could one thing they had they they had
democracy also an animal could become a
god and a god become an animal. If an
animal made money we're talking about a
human animal what they called an animal.
If all of a sudden he would make money
then he would get a new status. He had
his own flag. It has a they each social
status whether a person was a nobleman
or a god. He would get
is dress accordingly and have a flag
accordingly and uh they could move up
and down their social ladder which the
money ladder and
that way people could improve themselves
or lose their status. So an animal
became human and it was all according to
money and as they became uh someone lost
the money they become a non-god they
would have figures what happened they
would have figures and portraits of
their gods see figures and portrait
figures and portraits of their god this
their icons their idols their their
their stars they would have picture
their stars you see they have a a boy
have have a picture of his of his idol
on the very something very common, okay?
Bend these people that had bunch money
and they were popular like a movie star
that makes a lot of money and everybody
had these portraits. They would hug and
kiss their portraits because money was
their entire
devotion and fame and fortune if it
brought money then they love fame and
fortune too. So the master of prayers
people that were previous there in the
country they came back to their enclave
in the wilderness and they told the
master of prayer in detail all about the
nonsense of the country how they were so
fooled and lost in the craving of money.
I know I sound what translating this I
sound repetitive but even Rabbi Nakman
is even more repetitive than I was that
we we tend to say over and over about
the fact that they thought they were
gods and but that the different the ways
they thought they were gods. Okay. So
they what the way they had to make their
own country and their own they had their
own their own stars and their own
constellations and that's the the movie
stars and the sports stars and the all
stars. So when his disciples that went
on that that mission to to the country
of wealth, they told the master of
prayer all about it. He says that's
exactly what I was afraid of. It's
exactly what I was afraid of. Rabbi
Nakman in many of his Torres, Rabi talks
about lust. Talks about different types
of lust. He talks about lust for food.
He talks about lust for debauchery. And
he said he can rescue anyone from lust.
He says the worst type of lust that is
most difficult and he has difficulty
rescuing someone from the lust of money.
When a person is in lust of money that
it could it could do anything. Lust of
money leads to idolatry leads to what
are you talking about? Leads to mur
murder and of course leads you could see
someone even someone could be quote
religious unquote. And if a person has a
lust of money, then the person will
break every commerce law in Torah in
order to get more money.
And you can see this. So it's no
guarantee that a person is dressed in
religious trappings, orthodox trappings,
and then it's no guarantee. So you could
tell the real level of amuna that you
could tell of a person is about how they
conduct their business. And this is what
the Gammoran track Shabbat tells us.
refer referring to this that when a
person leaves this world the first thing
he or she is asked did you negotiate
fairly now that's a rough translation
the garra says
did you negotiate in amuna what's it
mean negot what does it mean to
negotiate in amuna that I'm dealing
amuna yeah we do deal amuna we negotiate
amuna all the time but negotiating amuna
means that I have amuna in hashem's laws
I have amun in hem's laws that you can't
steal that you can't short change a
person, that you can't you must pay a
worker on time, you can't withhold a
worker's wages, that you can't take
interest. All types of we have many many
many financial laws and you find out
that really meticulous people in their
service of Hashem. The first thing they
are meticulous in the relationships
between man and fellow man because there
are two types of commandments between
man and Hashem and man and fellow man.
Hashem says I can't forgive you for any
affront to your fellow human being. So
you got to ask him. So it's very we got
to be very very careful very very
careful in our relationships with other
people. And our number one relationship
we have daily dayby day is monetary. Pay
our bills on time pay back a loan and
keep your word keep your word in
business and pay your workers on time.
Okay. So the master of prayer he says
this is everything I feared everything
is worst nightmare. this is what's going
on in the country of wealth and he had
such great pity on them and he decided
he's got no choice he personally must go
there the master prayer took it was a
perilous decision but he decided he
personally must go there and he himself
it's with all due respect to his
disciples really difficult efforts they
made valiant efforts to make them return
to make them leave uh that come back to
to the truth but they were too deep too
deeply be involved. So the master of
prayer, he made an excursion to the
country of wealth and he came to the
guards at the bottom of the mountain,
the bottom mountain, the bottom of each
mountain had guards and guard station.
Now we'd think that the guards since
they're at the bottom of the mountain
and they're breathing the same air we
are. These the guards were people that
were considered lowly animals, okay?
Because a person who was a guy, he
wouldn't leave the country, he would
leave the upper the upper altitudes and
and the air. But these were simple
people. Rebi Nakman Reb
was 40 and slip the master of prayer. He
spoke to the simple people. This was the
way of Balto. This was the way of Rebi
Nakman. And at the time and when Rebi
Nakman lived was from 7 1772 to 1810. Uh
most of Eastern European jewelry was
really poor and really down and out and
many were close to illiterate. They
barely knew olive bait because after two
or three grades in in the in the school
they had to go to work. They had they
had to make a living and so they never
learned properly. And what they were 2%
the sons and sons-in-laws of the high
echelon that their fathers and their
fathers-in-laws could afford to keep
them in learning and in Yeshua learning.
So they didn't have to work. They they
learn Torah all day long. And so 98% of
the people they were impoverished and
they were impoverished both spiritually.
These are the people that the Balsham's
great-grandfather uplifted and this was
the whole purpose of the kidic movement
to make Torah and Amuna or Galatia. It's
for everybody. It's not just for the the
upper echelon. And this what Reb
continued. So Rabbi Nakman would go to
the simple people and speak to the
simple people, not to the high brows.
He'd let the high brows save them for
last. And guess what? Mashiah is going
to do the same thing. Mashiah will speak
to simple people and the high browsers
are going to be last in line. Last in
line. Okay. So, uh, so master of prayer.
I keep saying it keeps coming out. Reb,
that's a master of prayer. Master of
prayer decided the guards, these are the
best people to speak to because they're
the simple people and they're lowest on
the on the totem pole. and he tried to
speak to these people that uh
they were just as good as anyone else
and they should
stop and consider why why do you look
look why you're wonderful people why
you're considered lowest on on the low
and they said that they were so
convinced that they're they're low
they're convinced that they're animals
they said of course we're low because we
don't have money we're animals and that
to to Then they said we we're like
almost like the rest of the world where
we're impure. So that's why we're down
here guarding and we're guarding for the
great gods the great gods worth the
money for the great masters because uh
the city where they were very religious
and the guards even the guards the
guards were religious too even that they
had this low status in their guard they
had the what we call in in Yiddish a
budget their little guard houses. They
had pictures of the gods. They had
pictures of of Bezos and pictures of
Zuckerberg and pictures of of Trump.
They all these pictures and their god.
They worshiped their gods because the
money was the an object of their faith.
They were faithful people. You can see
this where there are places for example
in South America where people don't have
what to eat. But you could see that the
churches they're full of gold and
everything they had everything they
would go they bring to the bishops bring
to this but yet this was the same thing
the same thing. So the master of prayer
he came to one of the guards and he
began talking about the ultimate purpose
in life. He says my friend don't you
know what the ultimate purpose in life
is said the only ultimate purpose is
your soul. You have a soul. You're not a
body. You're not an animal. You have a
soul and your soul is a tiny part of God
and or to nurture your soul and to get
close to God. You have to serve God. And
you do that by prayer. You do by by good
doing good deeds. And he would talk to
him and and I mentioned to charity and
charity to hear this. They would hear
this blasphemy that that this stranger
was was speaking blasphemy and they he
would tell them money is utter
foolishness. What type of foolishness is
this? SP he's the guard didn't listen to
him. They couldn't listen to him because
his religion of money of lust for money
was so ingrained in him since he was
born and he didn't know anything else.
So the master of prayer didn't they
tried went to the other guards and
talked to them likewise and they made
they they didn't listen to him either.
Nobody listened to him. So master of
prayer made decision they not listen to
him. So he has to go up on the mountain
and he has to go into the city and do it
himself. When he arrived inside the city
that was a great surprise and people
looked at him they said how did you get
in here? All the fortifications they had
who knows what they had. They had high
walls and and pits and and animals and
who know how how did you reach us? So he
answered them why do you ask? I'm inside
of the city already. So what what do you
care about? This is said all there we
don't we see that the righteous man who
could get back all the follyies all the
obstacles. Rabbi Nakma said the
obstacles of the the physical world they
don't they don't they don't affect the
righteous person. They go and get jump
over the obstacles. So he began talking
with one of the people up one of the
citizens one of the citizens already a
human up in the world of wealth in the
country of wealth that money has no
meaning. Money has no purpose as it was
his custom and he talk about the true
purpose in life but if if down the
guards couldn't listen this citizen he
couldn't listen at all because he had
left him and tried someone else but
nobody could listen to him. They were so
embedded in their lust for money and
their religion. So it's a wonder to
people that such a man exists and they
should come to him. They should come to
their country and speak such blasphemy
and speak against their religion and
speak against the speak things that
complete opposite of their faith. So
they finally came to the conclusion, ah
this must be the master of prayer that
everybody's talking about. This must be
him. So they they they wanted to catch
him. They they finally realized that
this is not just hearsay coming from the
other countries that there really is a
master prayer in the world because it's
already the name became publicized and
they used to call him Rabbi has the
original in the original Yiddish that he
wrote the rest of the story in Yiddish
the for that the devout master of prayer
but they couldn't catch him because
again he would appear different to every
person he would appear different to
every person and he appeared to a
merchant one as a popper and and then he
would disappear. What is Rebman teaching
us? He just can't resist.
We're we're about to to end part two,
but Reb is teaching us here. What does
it mean when the master of a prayer when
master prayer appear different to each
person? When Mashiach comes, he's going
to appear different to each person. That
the spartim are going to say, "He's a
sparty." And the converts will say,
"He's a convert. He's one of us." said
and and the Ashkanazi would say, "No,
he's an Ashkanazi." And and the national
no he's he's nationalistic. Everyone
he's going to look because he knows how
to speak to each person. Knows how to
speak to person. It's the Noahides. What
are you talking about? He's a Noahide.
He's for the whole universe that
everyone is that's everybody's going to
believe in Messiah because Messiah will
speak to their soul and tell them how to
bring their soul close to Hashem. with
this. I want to mention something that a
lot of people a lot of people ask me all
the time. I get questions every single
week from Noahides and they ask me,
"Should I convert? Should I convert?
Should I convert?" And I've had
situations where I try to discourage
them and some try to convert and they
get disappointed. Then they're they're
really disappointed. You have to
understand
Hashem needs no hides in the world. We
call them amuna hides, but Hashem needs
them. They have a they have a job that
we can't do. They can influence their
own country. And this is what Reb is
teaching here that the disciples they go
back themselves into the town. Well, you
know, if if a person for example was Oh,
we have people in our group that they
left the churches, but they know the
language of the church. They know
language of the churchgoers. They know
language of people. And they could show,
hey listen, why not take a look at this
book Amuna and the Noahide and see see
you could say but just speak a little
bit of logic. You speak logic to person
right away you could bring them away
from all this uh father and son and and
holy all this ridiculous things and and
the Buddha and the taichi and all kinds
of things that people believe in only
one God and that's what we spent 15
weeks learning the 13 principal Buuna
for. This is exactly for this and this
what prepares us that's in a moon hour
but it prepares us much better for those
that that participate the moon hour
lessons to understand Rabbi Nakman's
teachings Rabbi Nakman's stories because
Rabbi Nakman's stories are all based on
Amuna and the teachings of Muna that we
teach in Amuna they're all based on
Rabbi Nakman's teachings and Reb said he
said my fire will burn until Messiah
comes and that he meant by that this
fire is the teachings of amuna This will
bring us to amuna. So we're going to
hold up right here. You know everybody
should have a wonderful week and all
your hearts wishes for the best.
