Vulnerability is not weakness. Welcome back to the 10 Commandments of dating. Commandment number four, thou shalt be vulnerable. Now, let's understand when vulnerability comes up, people think that vulnerability equals weakness. However, what we're going to see is that is far from the truth. We find that if a guy and a gal go out for a first date, if you would see that the girl is holding back who she really is from expressing her opinions, her beliefs, she holds back on a funny quirk that her personality has, all because she's worried about what is this guy going to think? Maybe he's going to think I'm weird, he's not going to like what I have to say, and therefore he's going to say no. And so we find that she is not being vulnerable, but it is coming from a place of weakness. So we see that not being vulnerable is synonymous with weakness. The opposite is true. If you'd have this gal go out on that first date, and she's flowing, and she's expressing what she feels, what she thinks, what she believes, she she Yeah, sure, she'd love to be liked by the guy and for her to like him, but she understands relationship can only really happen with me in a real way if I express myself, who I really am, what I really believe, and how I really am. So she puts herself out there. Is she being vulnerable? Yes. Is she coming from a weak place? No, she's coming from a place of strength. So vulnerability opens that door to true connection. Only by being who we really are can we open the door to someone else connecting with that. Now, does it guarantee connection? No, it does not. But if we're not being vulnerable and authentic and real, already we're undermining connection at the outset. Follow for the rest of the 10 Commandments.
