Shabbat: A Time to Create Yourself

Just be industrious [music] and and expand the horizons of of of the physical world. That's 6 days a week. That's our job is to continue [music] the work of creation in a certain sense. And on the seventh day, it's a day to create yourself. What does that mean to create yourself? To to again kind of like get in touch with your [music] nefesh, with your neshama, your soul. And feel like, "Well, what is my life all about?" So, [music] you know, that sense of resting is is an opportunity to say, "Okay, [music] but on Shabbat, I can just be. >> [clears throat] >> I can just be who I am." And that's why Shabbat is such a beautiful time for [music] family, such a beautiful time for learning Torah, such a beautiful time for a person just developing a certain sense of >> [music] >> identity, you know, who am I? What is life What is my life all about? And feeling comfortable with themselves. >> [music] >> And that rejuvenates them for the week ahead.
