Rabbi Moshe Sanders - What Does God Want From Me?

h l l small introduction my name is mosha Sanders I'm from Baltimore Maryland I was born in Sinai sixth floor um it's the local hospital in Baltimore I went to yiva in Boston far away Jerusalem and now I'm back in Jerusalem I was in deir for 2 years and now I'm back in AR and low plug for the best I've been to it's really incredible so I just want to speak tonight about some of the things we go through in life that we don't necessarily pay attention to one of the main um objectives of the muser movement which was a movement started in the 1800s was to develop um character traits and to take note of them what does that help because very often we go through life we don't pay attention to these things they just slip Us by so I just want to point out something that we we might not have paid attention to and that when we do Ms we should have in mind what what does God want from us is it so important that we do X Y and Z or is it more important that we what we think about it and how we try to do it and the effort we put into it and just sometimes we we don't pay attention to these things they just pass Us by and sometimes we pay we focus too much in the trees and we forget that there's a forest out there just to give a small example of this after World War II the Blu of rebbi who survived the concentration camps he lost his entire family 11 children and his wife and he rebuilt um his court and he rebuilt a family in Brooklyn after the war and people used to come for for advice and there was a family in the neighborhood who had a relative who was mentally unstable and she was seeing a psychologist and it wasn't helping so they figured you know this isn't working we'll take her to the Reby see if he can help so a week later the Reby got a call from this woman psychologist and he's like you know Rabbi you're a miracle worker what' you do so he said I don't know I asked her you know what what's been troubling you so she said she was walking down the Street and there was a plane that passed overhead and it was very loud and it bothered her so she expressed her frustration at the at the plane for making so much noise and as a result of her frustration she imagined that the plane had crashed and President Eisenhower had sent the FBI after and she was on the run so the BL raban you have to realize that when he was when he did this he you have to look at the whole picture in order to be aware of this so he told the woman don't worry President Eisenhower and I are good friends he liberated me from the DP camps from the displaced personal camps where his survivors were held after the war until they could find a final destination so we're we're good friends he liberated me from the DP camps no problem I'll call him up in the phone and you know do me a favor of drop all charges so the Reby picked up the phone he dialed Washington he spoke to the president he got the charges dropped she went home no more problems no more psychologist everything's okay so it's like what happened the psychologist was surely much more well trained than the Reby and you know there's one of those things you don't want to try at home nine times out of 10 you're not going to want to do this but you have a case here of someone who saw the whole picture he wasn't just thinking okay in the textbook this is what I'm supposed to do and of course 99% of the time that's going to work but sometimes you need to think a little out of the box and you know not everyone can get away with this but some sometimes you think about it what do this woman need what what's her problem I shouldn't should I sit here and try and convince her that President Eisenhower is not sending people after should I try and convince her that the plane didn't crash as a result of her or rather just go along with her story and tell her it's not going to be a problem anymore that's that's a case where someone saw the big picture and adapted their reaction to fit the big picture instead of focusing on the small part and you know politics aside an example where you sometimes people only see the trees the United States recently resumed political relations with Cuba which is one of the worst human rights abusers on the planet I think everyone agrees to that um the one case where Cuba's been getting some positive reviews there was I don't know if you're familiar with Alan gross he was a Jewish contractor who was in from Miami he was in Havana and he was trying to hook the Jewish community in Nan up to the Internet because in the um democracy that Cuba is you're not allowed to have internet or if you do it has to be restricted and according to government standards and for the crime of trying to give the Jewish community of Havana access to the internet he was put in prison for 5 years in alire confinement he wasn't allowed to speak to anyone and the US tried getting them out through various channels nothing worked and then recently when they signed this treaty he was allowed out of prison it was a big big deal the Secretary of State and the chief of staff met him at the airport they took a bunch of pictures together so never one thinks because because they at leased one prisoner that Cuba is now a democracy did anything actually changed no but everyone's so excited to make peace with Cuba so to speak to make it seem like we achieved something that we're going to give them something without getting in return that I think is like a case where we're only seeing the trees we're forgetting that there's a forest all those people in Cuba who were suffering before are still suffering we didn't actually help anything so the big picture just because we have an ambassador there we didn't actually help anything I just want to um say what the objective of of tonight's class is and hopefully by the end if you agree good if not you know we'll have to do this again so the one the one point I want to make is that there's um the Zohar says this in par and the gar says this in sanedrin on 1068 that's and the wants the heart literally doesn't mean hash wants to cut out your heart and bring it as a sacrifice like like the aex did um but hasem cares more about our intent and our effort in life than about the actual result and we we see this throughout um tanak throughout the talwood and in different examples and I think the earliest example we see of this birds that they complained about that they didn't have meat and God sent them Birds and the where they complained they didn't have water and God gave them the well they complained they didn't have food God gave them the man from heaven in every case where they complained or they sinned and something happened so MOS counted it to give them a lesson that they could learn from that particular instance and obviously the most important one was a golden calf that when the Jewish people had first received the Torah and the gar Likens it to a wedding that we were getting married to Hasam so to speak and it was as if we committed adultery on the night of our wedding that we served the golden calf for those of you have been to godl classes about the golden CF you'll know that the Jewish people didn't actually serve the golden C that was the a of Rob the Egyptian would be converts who God had wanted to stay in Egypt but Moshe had said I really want to take them with us I think they're sincere and Hashem had told Moshe um I don't you shouldn't take them it's not a good idea but if you want to you a free choice I'm not going to prevent you from taking them and when they went into the desert the these Egyptians who had pretended to be sincere ended up being the impetus for all of the Jewish people's troubles in the desert and specifically the golden calf um if you read the Pug carefully as you can hear abig godl do in his class on the golden calf the Jewish people themselves never actually served the golden Camp the AR did but the complaint against the Jewish people was that they didn't do anything to stop it they just remain passive throughout so m Tells over the story of the golden calf in summary and he tells the Jewish people so what should be your reaction to the events the past 40 years how are you going to go on what are we going to do to make sure that all of these unfortunate incidents that happened over the past 40 years don't happen again now I'm sure you've heard this saying uh in different forms um those who don't learn history's mistakes are bound to repeat them um the secular version of that say comes from George Sana who was a American Spanish philosopher the um original statement is actually from think in Micheline Proverbs says what was will be and what was done will be done again nothing new Under the Sun of course our revolutions happen every Century different political events but they can all be based on different theories you can all work them out to be working along the same lines anything that's natural is going to happen again so moso is recounting this to the Jewish people and he's telling them how should you learn from your mistakes the past 40 years what what does hash want you to do differently so the apost Torah says it's an environment peric base says what does your God want from you what what does he ask of you just to fear him so the G says is this a small matter the fear of Heaven is that a not a big deal the answered no well this is talking about moso and for him it was considered a small matter but that doesn't really help us because at the same time who is moso speaking to he speaking to the Jewish people so it doesn't really help if you have a professional athlete tell someone that oh that's very cheap it's you know only cost $50,000 but son doesn't have that type of money expensive you can't tell me because you have plenty of this that everyone else should so the same way mosha just because he has an abundance of fear of heaven so he shouldn't go around speaking to other people as if they should be expected to be on the same level he is so what are we talking about here here so the commentators explained that there are two different levels of fear of Heaven there's a more basic level which is anyone who has a realistic understanding that Hashem runs the world and he's the one who causes life and death should realize that our life is actually in his hands especially today unfortunately there are so many people who get diseases and you see them if any of you are football fans you'll see during the year um during breast cancer awareness month they don't get dressed up in pink with pink socks and pink gloves and pink helmets and no because it's a big deal because they want to advertise to point out that people should remember that if you don't get tested every year God forbid something might happen you won't be aware so we have to constantly be aware that oh my gosh we might have this dreaded disease we should keep on the lookout for it cuz we never know so if someone really believe beles in God and knows that he runs the world then they should have this fear that maybe this will happen to me not that we should live our lives being scared but we should have this fear in the same vein that someone in the Middle Ages say anywhere any time until give or take the 19th century when democracy first started taking a stand anyone who went before a monarch a monarch then is an absolute monarch they could you know just take a sword and cut your head off and nothing would there would be no repercussions so that that's the first level the second level I think you just tell you a quick story um Barack Obama has two daughters Molly and Sasha and Molly was at a concert in Chicago and she accidentally kicked someone in her class who was at the concert with her and that became a major news story in the states and her friend tweeted that Molly Obama kicked me and it was a big deal cuz the Secret Service didn't want anyone um publicizing where any members of the first family were obviously other than the president from first lady but what I want to take out of the story is that when else is it newsworthy that someone kicked you you know she wanted everyone to know that she was kicked who kicked her the president's stter it's exciting you know when someone meets a celebrity that's a big deal if you ever heard of the Make A Wish Foundation so they help um people who have terminal illnesses and they help them make a wish anything that they want they want to meet a celebrity they want to go to Disneyland something like that anything that can be helped with money they can make available and If you ever see any of these kids when they meet their hero the person they want to meet they're like Star Struck they they can't handle it it's like too much for them ever heard them they get when they get the call from the person they want to meet if it's an athlete or celebrity and the first thing they is oh my gosh I can't believe this I can't believe this it can't be no what's the big deal you know are they scared of the person no they're not scared they don't think the person is going to hurt them they like them but it's just so incredible because in their mind this person is larger than life they're almost like Supernatural so the commentators are saying that if we have a real appreciation not just the fact that God controls the world and our life is in his hands but that God runs the world and he created everything and everything that goes on is putty in his hand so to speak and we realize that we should be in awe of him the same way that these other people are in awe of their superhero celebrity athlete whoever it might be they're not scared of the person but they have that all that's the second level of law so just to return to what we were saying earlier Moses telling the Jewish people all all God's asking of you is to fear Him and we said that's all that's a big deal where saying the difference is that there are there are two levels of awe or fear of heav there's the first level which is anyone who has a basic understanding that God controls life and death you should understand that god holds my life in his hands and I should have a certain measure of fear of God not because he's out to get me God forbid but because he might you know because he might he has that power to do so if he so wish and so that's a basic level that's what MOS is telling the Jewish people and then there's a second level which is a higher level which is if someone truly understands not just God's power over life and death but power over everything then they'll realize is that God's incredible and the same reaction that people have when they meet their hero or celebrity that they admire will have that same awe of God so just to return to our earlier earlier question so how's that going to help the Jewish people get past all the sins they committed when they are in the desert what is it to help oh you have fear of Heaven all of a sudden so one SI fits all cure now everything's all better and I think the answer to that is yeah because we're not saying that you should do an action has I'm telling the Jewish people oh you should bake Matas you should shake Lulu you should play basball we're not saying to do something and that's going to change it but to change your attitude um was a story I once heard um apologies to the English fellows here American Russian Russian okay um so if it was basketball you might know because uh I think the Knicks are owned by Russian but do you know anything about American football so um you you've heard of Michael Jordan yeah okay that's basketball um I'm a little biased because I'm from Baltimore but Ray Lewis is one of the most recognizable faces in the National Football League you heard of him with a black guy with uh black hair no yeah it's like you know the Orthodox Jew with the black hat and the black coat yeah with the beard you know yeah so he he was one of the more iconic players and from let's say um 1997 I think he retired two years ago in and he had like a lot of people in America he grew up in a broken family he didn't really have any relationship with his dad not only didn't he have any relationship he had a negative one what do I mean by not having relationship and a negative one his dad used to um emotionally abuse them long distance he would call them up and tell them you know oh I come to the bus stop I want to come meet you and take you out for dinner and they would went by the bus stop and he wouldn't show up this was a pattern that repeated itself but being kids who wanted a f Father Figure so desperately they fell for it every time and as he got older and more mature and realized that his dad wasn't going to come he sort of grew to view his father the epitome of everything that he hated and anything negative in his life he wanted to Envision on his father and when he as he got older and he went to high school he he was a very good athlete one day one of his coaches who became friendly with him handed him a yearbook and he it was his dad's yearbook his dad had gone the same High School and his dad he hadn't known this but as he Le through the yearbook saw his Dad held nearly every single Sports record in the school his dad had been an unbelievable athlete he hadn't known that by the end of the year his Dad held no more records to school so what happened did the coach have to convince him that he should try harder no the coach gave him an incentive that he himself wanted to push himself he says he did so many push-ups he thought he was going to die you know it didn't come easy to beat all of his D records and no one's saying that if just based on his physical abilities alone he would have done it but he had such a tremendous overpowering desire to beat and to be better than everything his dead represented that he overcame whatever physical difficult ities her might have been in becoming the you know school's leader in point score in the basketball game and track in football in everything the coach didn't have to convince him but he made him wanted on his own so God was trying to do the same thing to Jewish people because if we have a proper understanding of what our function this world is of what our attitude and perspective on life should be then we'll want to do the right thing just when we lose perspective when we don't realize what's going on and we don't pay attention to things like we should when we see the trees rather in the forest so then we get caught up and we can sin or just waste time and not do what we should be doing if we would just take the time to think about it but what Ray Lewis's coach did was he created within him this desire to do things on his own where he didn't need any outside convincing so mosha is telling the Jewish people God's trying to give you the same message if you can create within yourselves that appreciation for that which is right and good to follow what it says in the Torah then even if I'm not here anymore you won't need any teacher any Rabbi to convince you to do the right thing you won't have to worry about serving the golden calf or complaining that you don't have meat or anything else like that because if you have the proper attitude then that'll manif manest itself in your actions if you have the right attitude your actions will right themselves as well it's the same they're both similar and we see this the rabbis tell us straight straight out in peros angra according to the effort we put into things that's the reward that we get and it's not like in the business world that if you you know produce a product then you can you know you earn money you get paid for it if you don't produce a product no one cares how much effort you put into it doesn't make a difference you don't produce something then you don't get paid that's it and just another story to illustrate this is um a debate going on in America maybe not so well known over whether to legalize sports betting or not it's legal in certain areas but sports sports betting you know the bet in the sports game you have a man you was playing Man City so you want to bet in the game so in the states sometimes it's legal sometimes it's not like if you go to Vegas you can do it but if you're in New York City you can't about Arizona and no can you bet in Arizona I'm asking I have no idea but you're not so far from Vegas you you know you can't complain so anyhow basically most people don't know how to play system so they get suckered into spend a lots of money the casino makes lots of money they can continue functioning but there are a couple people who have figured out the system and they can actually make money off of this so in order to prevent these people from putting them to bankruptcy there are limitations on how much money you're allowed to bet on any game at one time know if it's a college game meaning minorly it's not not such a big game so you can bet 10,000 bucks you know Small Change and if it's a professional game you can bet 20,000 bucks maybe maybe 30,000 bucks with the big game so what do the what do these guys do the the professionals the ones who know how to play the system so they hire people for them so they get people to place a $5,000 bet doesn't attract any attention so if you have 10 people placing $5,000 bets 50,000 bucks the casino wouldn't let you do that if they know but they have no right no way knowing that these 10 people are all working for one guy so you have um syndicates like this where you have one very smart um player if you will who knows how to play the system and they can make big money off this well there's one of these fellows who who got caught and he was prosecuted and one of the things he set over this is one of the workers for the bosses the boss never gets caught just the little guys who get caught and he was on his way back from a a good trip he had like 25,000 bucks in cash in his duffel bag and he was stopped in the airport by security to like 25,000 bucks in cash you're doing drugs and you know in in the middle of this he managed to play a CTO boss and he said you know come on help me out here guy said sorry but you know tough on you I'm not com to save you I I don't want to risk my own skin in case something happens so he ended up convincing them that he really was a gambler they checked out the casino everything was okay he got off when he came back to give the to deliver the money so his b said to him you know you're lucky you got away with it cuz you would have had a much easier time with the feds with the cops than with me meaning he doesn't care how much of a hard time how difficult it was for him to get the money back either you return my money or you pay for it I don't you know he doesn't care how much effort he put into returning it you know if you if he would have returned $24,000 instead of 25,000 that's unacceptable you you can't do that so you see in the world we live in doesn't make a difference how much effort you put into things it just the results matter but in in God's eyes is the effort we put into things because in from a spiritual point of view that's what's important in life now obviously we can't just say oh I'm going to try and you know I I tried to get out of bed in the morning but it was too hard and it's 12:30 in the afternoon and I'm still bad but I tried you know it doesn't say that you you have to actually try and you know it actually get somewhere but at the same time we come to God every on y Kipper and we beat our guest and we say oh I'm so sorry and God's like that's strange you said you're sorry the same thing last year so you know who are we kidding really you know we come to God we say we're sorry I try and get out of bed earlier you know trying to stay away from that Lobster like really you said the same thing last year it didn't work but so then why are we wasting our time maybe we shouldn't go show your Kipper no God forbid but rather we actually believe that every year God forgives us why because every year we come to God and we say sincerely we're we really regret what we did we're going to try and do better and God said I I see you're sincere it's okay but if a person continuously does the same thing now theoretically speaking could it be possible that someone could be sincere and just never get out of bed maybe I don't know but it just seems very skeptical as someone would actually be able to do that so the what we're saying is that even what that when we come on yum Kipper and even though we may have done the same sin for the past 10 years but if we're sincere we really intend to change then God will forgive us no matter how many times we did it because it's the intent it's our attitude that makes a difference rather in our actions and is um the gar says in chabas on 31a on that at the end of our every person's life at at least the end of every Jew's life one of the questions we're going to be asked is if we set aside time for Torah study just want to pay attention to the question for a second we're not going to be asked how much Torah do you know how much did you finish we're going to ask us we're going to be asked I'm sorry did you set aside time to study meaning it could be that you only got through three lines you didn't actually finish very much compared to other people maybe but that's not what's important God doesn't want to know how much you finish he wants to know how much effort you put into things so give you an example let's say in life you know there are a 100 Levels spiritually that a person can achieve so let's say we start out on level zero you know we're babies and then we keep shabas level 10 kous 20 you know so on and so forth the more missiles we do or the more refined our character traits are the higher we get no more Torah we learn Etc so let's say a average religious Jew grows up and they keep M house and they doin three times a day they keep kosher they keep shavis so by the time they're 20 years old let's say they're already a level 50 because that's just already part of their routine and everything else I do above that is like bonus points and then let say you have someone who maybe didn't grow up in very religious family and they're they're a good person they have good character traits but they don't do mitos so let's say they'll be on level 20 so it's not bad but it's not level 50 but let's say the religious person the end of their life lives hopefully till 120 and they pass away and they made it to level 75 so let's see you know if they their their routine they were born into level 50 they made it to level 75 75 - 50 25 they climbed 25 levels in their life that's quite an achievement but let's say the person who was not born into a religious family let's say they only made it to level 50 they kept chabas what 25 more at least they're try yeah exactly that's that's the point I don't know if everyone heard you want to say go ahead okay fine so Alex just got the point right away that if he started on level zero he got to 50 he made it up or he started on level 20 I should say made to level 50 he made up 30 levels even if you know he was he didn't get the same level that the person who was born religious did we said the person who was born religious made it to level 75 he only made a level 50 but at the end of the day if they both come upstairs they're not going to ask him well why weren't you like this other guy who made it a level 75 they're going to be like Wow you went up 30 levels okay he went up 25 but you know 30 is more 25 right so at the end of the day it's the effort that counts not the result so even though in this world if we want a a blessing so we'll go to someone who's on level of 75 S is at high spiritual level but you might say yeah but they were born into it so like who cares why why is that important that there on high spiritual level so the point is that the people are on the high higher spiritual level in this world are actually closer to God they may have more of an of an argument so to speak with which to persuade God to listen to them with whatever issues a person might have if they want this person to pray for them Etc they might have more of an inn with God if you will um Rashi tells us that when Y and Rifka were married they didn't have children for a long time for 27 years and they're both praying and Rashi points out that y's prayers were answered while rifas were not and Rashi gives an explanation he says we because the prayers of a sadic sadik of a righteous person who's the son of righteous people is more dear to God than those of someone who was born to parents or not so righteous in Rua's case to Lavan who we say by the peser tried to destroy the Jewish people not so that we're a big fan of so that that seems a little contradictory to what we said before before we were saying well everything depends on the levels how many levels you climbed and over here we're saying yeah but God listens to the other people more the people who are on the higher level even if they didn't start out that low to begin with it's sort of like um to use a baseball reference um a good pitcher in in baseball will win 20 games that's a a benchmark a really good pitcher will win 20 games but that doesn't necessarily mean the guy's a good pitcher it just means that the guys in his team scored more runs the other team he can be a horrible pitcher and just his the guys in his team score a lot of runs so what's a more accurate barometer of how good of a pitcher is his ra and ra stands for earned run average was how many runs did he give up if he gives up a very low amount of runs compared to the other pitchers in believe then you have a good argument for saying he's a good pitcher so I think that's analogous to what we're talking about the person who climbed more levels that's analogous the ra you can see exactly how much of a quality person they are whereas the person who won the games that doesn't show you anything about where the person came from so why is it that Hashem listen to is prayer and not rkas because or at least some the commentators say that if you have a king who has an advisor so he's going to be more friendly with that adviser and if that advisor son wants something he'll be more inclined to accept it but if you would ask the king who is more dear to you um this adviser who grew up into royalty and you know like we might say inherited his money or this other adviser who saved your life in battle uh came from a what you might have called in the old days lower class uh peasant background didn't have you know wasn't a blue blood so to speak though the king would defin I would like to say definitely appreciate the effort that the second person gave who didn't come from the same background but he doesn't have any relationship with the family and maybe my example is not doing it justice I'm sorry if it doesn't it's not making it as clear but the point is that Hashem already had a relationship with ar Vu yet was part of the family if you will you know whereas Revo is more of a newcomer so even though we're still saying that at the end of the day someone who climbs higher levels is more dear to God but at the same time someone who's more in the Inner Circle the person who's on level 75 will be listened to more than the person who's on level 50 that's at least theoretically speaking practically speaking it's just more difficult because how are who are we to judge we never know who's who started out on what level and what level they're on now the only person who could possibly know that is God so for us to go ahead and say well I think that such and such a person was a great person and they climbed this many levels you can go ahead and and guess but there's no way to really know the best barometer is to see what level are they on now compared to everyone else so compared to the average religious Jew this person let's say r kki or R keski is on a very high level so therefore it would make sense to go and get a blessing of them whereas other people could be the CL more level but we don't know so that wouldn't necessarily help and just to illustrate that Concept in the when the Jews were in Egypt and Hashem sent Moshe to go speak to parro and Moshe said to Hashem well you know I don't want to go so hasem said fine no problem Aon will go with you and several times the PK mentions them together and sometimes it says Aon and then Moshe and sometimes it says motion and then Aron so Rashi points this out and Rashi says well what's going on it's a you know why is the PK switching the order because we know everything in the Torah even the smallest details done with purpose so Rashi says to show that they're both equal so rosha Feinstein who was one of the leaders of the previous generation he passed away in the late 80s um so he speaks about this and he says that it it seems rather odd that Rashi is just saying so matter of factly that oh they were equal Moshe we know is the Torah testifies the most humble man to ever live that was why he was able to be the leader of the Jewish people he was the greatest Prophet to ever live we say in on imam's after ding that one of the things I believe the perfect faith that the prophecy of mosha was on a level that no one else has ever equaled or ever will so how can we ever compare anyone to mosha he's so head and shoulders so far above anyone else it it just seems ridiculous you know with all due respect to Aron who was a great person in his own right but it it just seems like it's not a fair comparison soosi explains that we're only saying that because we lack the proper context because we don't understand Moshe it says when he was born the whole house was filled with light he was born circumcised he was and the commentators explained that he was born in special circumstances because he was destined to be the leader of the Jewish people the one who would speak to God face to face and relay the message of the toward the Jewish people and to a certain extent it says that from the time the commentators say that from the time of the giving of of the Torah until the end of his life mosha lost a certain aspect of his free choice not not everyone agrees to this but this is one explanation because it had to be so in order for the Torah to be considered the word of God because it used to be in the days of the prophets when someone wanted to know something they would go and ask a prophet and the tanak actually records that if they were worried that there was going to be a negative prophecy um um there's one instance in particular when they had a choice there were three prophets they could go to and the Jewish people were expecting to hear bad news how they knew they were going to expect bad news I don't know but they decided instead of there were two male two men and one a Woman They decided instead of going to the men they're going to go to who was uh female prophetess and they wanted to go there explicitly because they felt that she would give a softer version of the prophecy not that she would change anything purposefully but every Prophet since their prophecy wasn't exactly the way God said it as um the meure says there's moso's prophecy was B like through clear glasses and everyone else is was B glasses that were like foggy now I've never been a prophet so I can't tell you exactly what that means but each of them inevitably and obviously unintentionally injected a certain aspect of their personality into the prophet prophecy that they gave over if you took 10 people and maximize those talents and bring the bring our true abilities you know to the Forefront whereas if we weren in that other person's position we wouldn't have that potential so we we shouldn't complain about it we should be happy and we should just realize that every single person has their own issues that they have to face with and that our issues aren't any worse aren't any better we're all in the same situation and we have no idea what other people are going through and at the end of the day what's important is how much effort we put into things that doesn't mean like we said before that we effort we put into things and even if we don't get to the the places that levels that we might want to that we should still realize that we're doing the very best we can and that's all that God is asking us
