So we're finishing the month of Iyar.
Tomorrow night be that as sham is going
to be Rosh Chodesh Sivan.
And Friday this year we're going to be
celebrating the Rosh Chodesh of Sivan.
And
in all the teachings that we learn about
Rosh Chodesh or any other occasion that
he has is the word Rosh like Rosh
Hashanah
then we understand from that that that
day is the level of Rosh.
And with that said we understand that
everything is included in that day. So
Rosh Chodesh as I explained many times
it's called the head of the month. It's
not called the beginning of the month.
Cuz technically should have should have
been called the head of the month.
But we call it Rosh Chodesh.
Rosh
Why? Okay, one can understand explain
and say in Hebrew head sheet is the
beginning but it doesn't come from the
word head sheet rather it comes from the
word Rosh which means head.
And in the head in the physical head is
the brain which
signifies the intelligence the the the
head part of the month.
So when we have a Rosh Chodesh or Rosh
Hashanah or anything that uses the word
Rosh then we know that the energy of the
entire month is included in that day.
So really the main part of the month if
one wants to reach out and to attach to
the energy of that month is on Rosh
Chodesh.
So tomorrow night is going to be the end
of the month of Iyar going into the
month of Sivan. So on a person who
understands and values Rosh Chodesh then
these two days are very busy. And I
explained that many times because when
I'm saying whoever understands, I'm
hoping anyone who listens understand.
Rosh Chodesh is a very very special day
that should not be used on regular
things.
Rosh Chodesh is like a little Yom Tov.
Many
Ashkenazi, they fast on Erev Rosh
Chodesh, like Yom Kippur Katan, like a
small Yom Kippur.
So, the Erev Rosh Chodesh in our
case tomorrow or tomorrow's Erev Rosh
Chodesh, the the eve of Rosh Chodesh.
For us is a very special Erev Rosh
Chodesh because we we were in
mourning mode for the last few weeks.
No music, no weddings, no parties, no
haircuts, no no many things. All right,
so Erev Rosh Chodesh, Chodesh Sivan, can
start partying, bring back the music,
bring back the joy.
So,
Rosh Chodesh is a very powerful day.
Unfortunately,
the reality is that as much as we love
Hashem and as much as we love the Torah
and as much as we try to follow the
Torah, we're human beings and we and we
sin a lot. Each one in their area.
And there's no such thing. Don't say
don't say to yourself I don't sin.
There's no such thing.
Even a tzaddik
who is able to sin. So, how much more so
we sin. We sin in Lashon Hara. And if we
don't sin in Lashon Hara, then we should
when we sin in Bitul Torah and and not
learning Torah. And then we sin in so
many other things that
the reality is that our sages understood
that, knew that, and they said, "Okay,
I'll give you three loopholes every day
when you confess your sins and you
accept chuva and you move on."
So, three times a day we say viduy.
Shacharit, Mincha, and Kriyat Shema al
Hamitah. When you confess your sins,
I I see in many, many places that people
love skipping the confession part,
especially in Shacharit and Mincha.
Everybody wishes that there's going to
be some occasion that will cancel the
Tachanun.
I told you many, many years ago where I
lived somewhere temporary, and the only
shul that was close by was a very nice
shul,
but they didn't like saying Tachanun
there. Tachanun is the confession part
that we say after the the main prayer,
Shmone Esrei.
So, they had a book
uh
of all the Yahrzeits, all the death days
of great tzaddikim, and every special
event that ever happened,
because if there's a special event, then
we don't say Tachanun.
If there's a groom, a chatan, in the
minyan, there's no Tachanun. If there's
a mohel, there's going to be a bris, no
Tachanun. There's certain times that you
don't say Tachanun. Of course, there are
days that you don't say Tachanun.
Uh
like the entire month of Nissan we don't
say Tachanun, but nevertheless, if
on a regular day there's a certain
event, a brit milah, a mohel, a
hachnasat sefer Torah, something, then
there's no Tachanun. Can't say Tachanun.
So, they had a book
that said all the days they
What's today? Oh, the 22nd. Oh, Moshe
ben Zuchman died 300 years ago. No
Tachanun.
So, if you want to do quick prayers, you
go to that shul. They didn't ask for
forgiveness for anything. Maybe they're
in very high-level tzaddikim, they don't
have to say Tachanun.
But Tachanun, as much as we all don't
like it, it's the highlight of the
prayer where you confess your sin, and
you should add your own sins according
to the alphabet.
After all, we say Ashamnu, Bagadnu,
Gazalnu, Dibarnu Dofi. It goes by the
alphabet, aleph, bet, gimel, dalet. I
don't know how it is in English. In
English it won't be in the in the
alphabet. But in Hebrew when you're
saying it in Hebrew Ashamnu aleph,
Bagadnu bet, Gazalnu gimel. You go all
the way.
Chachamim say that if you know a certain
sin that you did, then say it in the
letter.
Whatever
it is, add that what you said with your
words. You're confessing to Hashem.
You're basically saying Hashem, you
know, I'm
I'm a piece of flesh. I have temptations
all day long. I'm very, very weak.
Spiritually, I sin. But at least I
confess.
So the Tachanun is the highlight of the
day.
The next highlight it will be Erev
Shabbat on Friday evening when we do
teshuvah. I'm talking about doing
teshuvah because we sin a lot then at
least I can at least do the minimum of
the minimum of the teshuvah.
So the next time is Friday and the next
auspicious time before Yom Kippur was
Rosh Chodesh.
If you are particular and you're reading
the the the text of the prayer of Rosh
Chodesh in Musaf, Zman Kaparatchem. It's
a time for atonement. It's a time for
forgiveness.
It's the time
that we look up to the sky.
Oh, you don't have to look up to the
sky. I mean,
you want your heart to be aimed to the
heavens. That's what it means look up to
the sky.
And and ask for the forgiveness from the
master of the universe and when you
achieve forgiveness, then the bracha,
the blessing, and the shefa, the
abundance that is supposed to come to
you is now able to come.
Because what what
What is stopping me from receiving my
blessing? Only my sins. Not anything
else. It's not that I'm some shlemazel
and somehow I'm not able to bring down
the shefa, this abundance, this blessing
to myself.
The only thing that will stop the shefa
from coming down and shefa the
translation is abundance but really what
it means is the is the energy the
blessing that comes from the master of
the universe and it comes in a spiritual
form but it transforms or the right way
will be
it
manifests from the spiritual level into
the physical level
and that's how you receive your
sustenance your parnassa your livelihood
and your health and your love to Hashem
your fear to Hashem
everything in your life
is is
enlivened by this energy that comes down
to the world through these channels of
energy
these channels are called in the
Kabbalistic terms tzinorot pipes ΧΧΧ©
pipes
just imagine pipes going from your
neshama to the heavens and for
everything in your life there's one
channel that through that comes energy
the right way is to sit to call shefa
call shefa means a lot of what Hashem
wants to give you
but let's keep it to our understanding
let's call it now energy
now on Rosh Hashanah will decide will be
decided how much money I make
but I need to now manifest this blessing
into the world from the spiritual level
into the physical level
now the way it works there's a parable
that
there was a king and he had three sons
and he financially supported them
but the deal was that every day they had
to come and take a check every day they
came you want a cup of coffee you want a
cup of tea maybe a piece of cake
and then after a few minutes talking to
the father he wrote them the checks
one time one of the sons say father you
know you're busy man you are a king
you know it's fine if you just give us
once a month a check
you don't write every day even once a
year.
So the king says, "If I would write you
a check once a year, I would see you
once a year.
So I write you a check once a day, so I
see you every day."
So Hashem says, "Okay, I write you
checks three times a day. When you come
in front of me to pray, then I give you
one check of your sustenance, of your
parnassa.
You cannot get the whole thing in one
shot.
Now, that's if it works
healthy, that every day you pray and you
get your portion in your parnassa, and
it doesn't matter what you're going to
do, you will make the same amount of
money.
Doesn't matter if you work 20 hours a
day or 2 hours a day.
What will affect, so to say, how much
money materializes from the spiritual to
physical,
A is how much and how you pray,
how you conduct your business, if you
are honest or not, if you steal or not,
if you give tzedakah, if you give
charity, and so forth.
And also with your sins.
Now, if I start sinning a lot, let's say
I'm blessed to make a lot of money, but
I sin a lot, then these channels where
the abundance comes from start and start
to tighten like any other pipe.
Now, I'm giving you an example with
parnassa, with your livelihood. This is
the exact same thing with your health.
And with your health it's even much more
sophisticated, because every sin and
every mitzvah will affect a certain
organ.
So if I'm lacking, I have some type of
health issue,
then don't run to the doctor first. Run
to the room or to the synagogue, uh run
to Hashem, and try to reverse engineer
why is this issue happening.
I have certain pain now in in in my back
that is
shooting pain to my shoulder, and I'm
trying to understand, okay, this certain
pain, okay, it's not a sickness, baruch
Hashem. Sickness is different than pain.
But the first thing that goes through my
mind,
what's the significance of shoulder?
Okay, katef, what are the letters?
Katef, I'm starting to make all these
gematriot. I'm looking for psukim, maybe
a verse that has the the the connection.
I'm trying to see what Hashem is telling
me. And the exact same thing should be
done in everything. If I get a ticket, a
parking ticket,
or something like that, I reverse
engineer. Why Why am I getting this kiss
from Hashem in a ticket? Because usually
the the the
uh reaction is going to be in the same
category of what you did. You did some
problem with money, then the the blemish
will come in money. You did certain
things that either you hurt a body or
with a body, then the blemish will come
back on the body. So, when they say
reverse engineer, something I have an
issue with health or a pain or wounds or
something like that, then I reverse
engineer, what did I do
something with my body?
So,
when I'm ready to do teshuvah, I need to
first of all focus on the and understand
what what am I doing wrong?
What what am I doing wrong? Am I sinning
here? Am I sinning here?
It says in the Talmud, haba adam isurin,
when a person starts having all sorts of
hardships, difficulties, and challenges,
yefashpesh b'ma'asav.
Go to fashpesh means to go through, like
this.
Go through actions.
Why am I having this difficulty right
now? And every person has their own
difficulties.
It can be in the health department, it
can be in the financial department, it
can be a lawsuit, it can be a neighbor
is after you and annoying you, somebody
trashing you. It can be so many
different things,
but in the message in the action is the
message.
So, constantly I need to be in a form of
chuva. It says in the Mishna, "Kol
chayecha yiyu b'tshuva." All your life
has to be b'tshuva.
"Al tismah Al tismah al atzmecha ad yom
motcha." That's what it says in tractate
Avot in the Mishna.
Don't count on yourself till the day you
die.
Because I don't know really where I'm
holding, and I don't know how much good
is my chuva.
So, when I sin, it will affect my life
in my in the personal level.
Some sins will affect my parnassah, some
my livelihood, some sins sins my health,
and so forth.
But really when you want to focus to the
most important things that one needs,
then the Talmud says, "Banei, mezonae,
v'revihae."
Uh kids, which means your
lineage, your family,
uh
your health, and your money. These are
the three things that are are
are are I don't know if to say the
pillars, but three main things that in
the person's life.
You need parnassah, you need your
livelihood, you can't live without your
livelihood, you need your health,
without your health you can't do
anything or get your livelihood. And
ultimately, banei, when it's talking
about your kids, it's also it's
referring to the life your lifestyle of
Torah. When you teach your good your
kids to go in the path of the Torah, you
live a life of Torah.
So, really when it
boils down to the challenges that we
have,
it's the challenges are in these three
categories.
Parnassah and our livelihood, in our
health, and our family. People have a
lot of family issues. Either they can't
get married, or they have a horrible
marriage, or just They through a
horrible divorce, or issues with the
with their kids. The family matters,
everybody has issues with family
matters. Some to an extent that it's
uh and levels of madness.
And some
uh Baruch Hashem, it's normal. But the
the three major things that we that we
have challenges are money, health, and
family
situations.
So,
with that said,
knowing that Rosh Chodesh is coming soon
and it's a time for teshuvah,
here this month something very happens
between the connection between the month
of Iyar and the month of Sivan
that the the usually the erev Rosh
Chodesh, the night of Rosh Chodesh is a
powerful day to start with.
But here we have uh the connection of
Iyar and Sivan together, a very
interesting connection. So, I want to go
through it, explain a little bit, and
we'll see the great achievement you can
reach tomorrow concluding the month of
Iyar,
which carries with it the the the
potential of refuah, of health, refuat
hanefesh urefuat haguf, the health of
the mind, spirit, soul, and body, and
also the brachah of the Torah, which
signifies, of course, parnasah. So,
we'll see how that comes together. It's
very very interesting.
So, it says that we all know Iyar
signifies refuah, health. We spoke about
it a few weeks ago in Rosh Chodesh. I
told you I don't need to tell you.
That's the the main slogan of Iyar, the
acronym of Ani Hashem Rofecha. Everybody
knows that. The acronym of how you write
Iyar is aleph, yud, yud, resh, which is
the acronym of Ani Hashem Rofecha, I'm
God your healer.
And many other situations and hints that
we know that Iyar
refers to health.
But Iyar also signifies
all that has to do with hochma. Hochma
means wisdom. And I'm not talking about
the hochma that you find what's called
hochma bagoyim, the wisdom of the world.
Not talking about math or geography or
science or that type of hochma.
Wisdom. Hochma I'm talking about the
wisdom of the Torah, the wisdom of
Hashem. That's not a regular wisdom.
Take now a genius.
Let's
choose one from our nation. Let's take
Einstein.
And take a genius from the Torah world.
And
and put them together.
And the the level of intelligence of the
genius, in this case an Einstein, is
yeah, great. But when it comes to
compare to the level of the brain of the
rabbi, there's no comparison.
There's a great rabbi who lived
I mean lived 50, 60, 70 years ago. Died
many years ago. Who is known as the
Ragachover.
Uh you might recognize He's not famous,
but
you might recognize him. He had a lot a
lot of hair.
He has a full set of hair.
And he said on himself, when he was
asked why he doesn't cut his hair, he
said that he feels pain when he cut his
hair.
That's the level I mean where I mean
Kabbalah explains that the hair is the
hemshichiyut, the continuation of the
muchin, of the intelligence, the the
spiritual part. Obviously, if he had
pain in his is in his
hair, you have to understand the level
of
muchin that this individual had. He's
the rabbi who gave the rabbinical
ordination to the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
Uh but nevertheless, he met once
Einstein.
A same period. And when they left the
room after a few hours of talking,
Einstein said on him, "He is like three
Einsteins."
So the hochma of the Torah is a
different level khokhmah.
Why? Because it's khokhmah Elokit. It's
a godly wisdom. It's not wisdom in
something that is
can
be explained. Maths and equation or or
in a geometry. This cannot be
explained. Might take you a little bit
longer than the other.
Godly wisdom you cannot explain. You
have to be a god to understand the godly
wisdom.
So, Iyar has a significance, but I would
choose to say Iyar is the root.
Spiritual root of all that has to do
with divrei khokhmah, with
words of wisdom that has to do with the
Torah.
And I'll and I'll explain a little bit
that you'll
relates and understand more.
First of all,
uh
the first time that the well of Miriam,
Be'er Miriam, was revealed was in the
month of Iyar. And besides health that
the well gave, it also was the
wellspring of wisdom, which I will
explain about Be'er Miriam shortly.
The man started coming down in the month
of Iyar, specifically on the 15th day of
Iyar.
And the man, it says
the man was only given for the ones who
learn Torah.
From that we understand that in the
power of the man, in the energy, in the
food that they ate, that's what gave
them the clarity to understand the Torah
and to dive into the depth of the Torah.
And when did this happen? In the month
of Iyar.
Uh
In the month of Iyar was the first time
that the Levi'im carried the Aron
Habrit.
And again, it was talking about
it's referring to the Aron Habrit. It's
carrying the Torah. And again, the first
time that physically the Kohanim, the
priests and the Levites carried Aron
Kodesh. And again, on the month of Iyar.
On the month of Iyar, exactly 480 years
after the nation of Israel left
Mitzrayim,
that's the month that Hamelech
started building the Beit Hamikdash.
Exactly 480 years after that.
And many other events that show that in
the month of Iyar there's a connection
to the Torah.
Also, based on the teachings of the Book
of Formation, Sefer Yetzirah, the tribe
that is connected to the month of Iyar
is the is the tribe of Issachar. And
Issachar, again, is the tribe that sym-
symbolizes the tribe that carries the
Torah. The learn- the learners.
The hundreds and hundreds of Rashei
Sanhedrin, the heads of of great
assemblies that they had. And I'm sure
you are familiar with the deal of
Zevulun and Issachar, that Issachar sits
and learns Torah, Zevulun goes and
works, uh gives Issachar half the money,
and Issachar shares with him the Torah.
So, Issachar represents the carrying of
the Torah, and the tribe of the month of
Iyar is Issachar.
So, we have all these connections to the
month of the Iyar
uh with uh Chokhmah.
Uh which the most significant of them is
the the Be'er Miriam, the the well of
Miriam.
Now, you know the story. I told you the
story. I'll just repeat it very, very
fast. That when the Arizal
was
uh ready to reveal himself to Rabbi
Chaim Vital, Rabbi Chaim Vital was
already a great rabbi who lived in uh
Syria, in Damascus, in Damascus. Rabbi
Chaim Vital Rabbi
Arizal was in Mitzrayim, in Egypt, and
he was just learning and learning and
learning every day with the Hanavi. And
at some point when he was ready, he got
the heavenly
order, the divine message.
He went up to Tzfat uh to meet Rabbi
Hayyim Vital to give him over his Torah.
He called Rabbi Hayyim Vital in his
dream.
He didn't use WhatsApp or Facebook. He
appeared in Rabbi Hayyim Vital's uh
dream many times
telling him, "I'm your teacher. I came
to uh here to teach you Torah, and you
need to come to me."
And in the beginning he ignored it.
And after the dream came repeating
itself over and over and over, then he
understood it means business, and then
Rabbi Hayyim Vital went to Tzfat, met
the Ariza, and uh started learning. And
the story says that in the beginning
Rabbi Hayyim Vital was questioning the
Ariza and asking him all those difficult
questions.
And not only that he was able to answer,
he gave him like uh uh
uh
answers that he he barely understood.
And then when the Ariza explained to him
a few things, he didn't understand
nothing.
The story says that they went down
together to Tiberias, took a little
boat, went somewhere in the middle of
the Kinneret, and uh Beer Miriam
appeared. Rabbi Hayyim Vital got a
little cup like this of water, took uh
drank the water from the well of Miriam,
and for a year and a half
all the teachings of Kabbalah that the
Ariza gave it to him, he was able to
learn in a year and a half.
Now take now the greatest rabbi in our
generation or any generation
and tell them to learn everything that
the Ari taught Rabbi Hayyim Vital, it
would take them 60 years, 80 years, 100
years.
And he did that in a year and a half.
Why? Because of the water of uh Beer
Miriam.
So, the water we know is very, very
powerful
A for opening the wellsprings of
knowledge, but mainly the power of Be'er
Miriam is the healing.
We know that in the merit of Miriam and
the water in the well, the nation of
Israel was healed.
There's a story that
uh it's brought down by the the Bet
Yosef
of a special story about healing.
But before I tell you the story, let me
explain to you. The Bet Yosef explains
that Bet Yosef is uh our neighbor here,
the
Maran Bet Yosef Yosef Caro who wrote the
Shulhan Aruch.
He and the it brings in Shulhan Aruch
that one should drink something hot on
Motzei Shabbat.
Better to be have a cup of tea or coffee
or soup, but something
that is hot on Motzei Shabbat.
And he says that that brings a refuah.
It brings a health to the body and to
the soul.
And where does he learn that? He brings
his a pasuk from the book of Tehillim,
Tehillim 147,
kuf mem zayin,
verse gimel, and it says harofeh
leshivurei lev umekhabesh le'atzei
votam.
Translation: Who heals the broken
hearted and binds up their wounds.
And he takes the word mekhabesh
and he says that's the acronym of mayim
khamim bemotzei Shabbat.
Hot water on Motzei Shabbat.
He brings that from the Talmud that one
should drink a hot beverage on the end
of Shabbat and on the Motzei Shabbat,
Shabbat at night, and that brings a
refuah, healing to the person.
And
and specifically has to be something to
drink. Now here it's very very
important. I'm just pointing it out
because one might fail in that.
If If don't do that already, then here
you have a good uh lesson for today to
take something from this class that
every Motzei Shabbat have something hot.
A cup of tea, cup of soup, uh better
like liquid soup, not like a very thick
soup. Uh but best cup of tea, or cup of
coffee.
And uh and to understand that bring this
brings uh the four brings brings health.
What's important is that if you're
drinking a cup of tea or a cup of coffee
Motzei Shabbat, you can't use it from
the hot water you had on Shabbat.
I saw people
uh now I was traveling a lot.
And I saw that a lot of people Motzei
Shabbat don't empty the hot water urn.
And they use it on Motzei Shabbat, and
you're not allowed to cuz that's a hot
water that was done on Shabbat and
you're drinking it after Shabbat.
So you have to empty the water and just
make new water.
But it's important to take on yourself
the Motzei Shabbat you have a cup of tea
with hot very very hot from new water
that you did on Motzei Shabbat and
uh and you and you know that is for the
sake of health.
So the story that I wanted to tell you
uh yeah I I I saw I'm sorry I'm
sidetracking again. I saw a lot of
people that they leave the hot water
uh running.
And
uh that's not good.
Because what happens is with the water
it cools down a little bit and then the
machine uh
warms it up again. It cools down warms
it up.
And if it's cooking the water on Shabbat
if it's done automatically, it's fine.
But if the water was cooked on Shabbat,
then you can't have it on Motzei
Shabbat.
So you have to remember to empty your
hot water Motzei Shabbat.
But nevertheless, let's go back to our
story. The story says that there was a
uh uh
a man that he had some skin issue.
Mukebeshchin. Skin is type of
I don't know fungus on the skin, some
type of
whatever it's called. Nevertheless,
uh
one Motzei Shabbat, she his wife went to
the local well to pump water.
We're lucky. We have the water in the
faucets.
At the time, people would go out. There
was a well. Everybody went there, pumped
the water. The women would gather there,
sit there for 3 hours, chitchat. So,
that's where they hung out. So, she
spoke with her friend, and she was very
late. By the time she came home,
she was late. So, the husband was
upset. "Where were you? I sent you to
get the water. You Why were you late?"
She's like, "I got caught up. I got I
spoke with so-and-so, and I got caught
up." He got so upset, he smashed the
pitcher out of her hand, and all the
water
spilled everywhere.
But what happened was that everywhere
that the water splashed and splashed on
then the shchin, the the skin disease
was healed.
And
and it happened to be that the the story
says,
and again, this is brought by the Beis
Yosef. It's not that some story somebody
invented.
The story as he explains that the well
of Miriam travels,
and every time the the well is feeding
water to another to some well.
And in that specific Motzei Shabbat,
then the well of Miriam
when the woman got the water was mixed
with the
the water of Miriam, and the and the
water that he splashed over the floor,
what if he would drink the whole thing,
he would be healed without even knowing
how. The water just splashed on
different places. Wherever it splashed,
he got healed.
So, hey, you take from that the power of
the the Be'er Miriam.
But nevertheless, here you can learn
also how it's not worth being angry, how
your
you know our sages say when a person is
angry, his reward is it's his stupidity.
And what do you get when you angry? Only
to deal with whatever you broke or
damaged or or you can't reverse.
So you see, he could have get gotten
healed, he broke the pitcher, now all
the water on the floor.
So back to Be'er Miriam.
Uh
interesting first of all to understand
why is
Miriam called Miriam.
I mean the well is called after Miriam.
Every name has a meaning. So our sages
say her name is called Miriam because
when she was born that's when the
Holocaust really started. I'm talking
about the Holocaust of Pharaoh, not of
Hitler Shimo.
Uh
the
uh
exile was for 210 years.
But 86 years, that's when it really was
bad. And when did it start? When Miriam
was born.
So it says "Shame on you."
On the because the bitterness started
then her name was
called Miriam. Because the Talmud says
her name in the beginning was not even
Miriam. She had a whole different name.
Uh what was her name? Very weird name.
Khila
Va'azuba. That was her name.
Yeah? Now Khila with Khet, not with a
Kaf. Khila with a Khet is not a nice
word.
But it's not a
Khila with a Khet. Uh
the the
translation for Khila
What's the translation for Khila? It's
like scum, I think.
Right? I think Khila should come.
But here it doesn't come from the word
rather the Talmud says Holanit.
She was very sick. Constantly
health issues.
Va'azuvah
she had some type of health issue that
she didn't look good. Probably all sorts
of
maybe acne, scars on the skin, I don't
know. But the Talmud says she wasn't
attractive at all. That she was like not
I don't want to say ugly but
but she wasn't attractive. Let's put it
this way.
And
so Holah
because she was Holanit all the time
sick and Azuvah nobody wanted to marry
her.
At the end she married a young man 46
years younger than her.
And the man that she married was Caleb
ben Jephunneh.
That later on became the Nasi, the
prince, the president of the tribe of
Judah.
And he was 46 years younger than her.
Just imagine he was 40 years old he
married her when when she was 86 years
old.
Now A nobody wanted to marry her to
start with. So he's also on top of that
marrying her when she's 86.
So it says in the Talmud that because
he married her only for Shamayim
he didn't marry her definitely not for
the looks.
I mean it's not bad to marry the sister
of Moshe Rabbenu have your
brother-in-laws Moshe Rabbenu and Aaron
the Cohen and the great granddaughter of
Jacob. I mean that's
one hell of a lineage. But nevertheless
it says that he married her just because
of her qualities and her good midot.
So Hashem did a miracle and he healed
her completely. And in her 80s when she
was 86 she was very beautiful. She
became beautiful, gorgeous, attractive
and probably like Sarah Imenu, Hava, and
all that, and
and she was completely healed.
But nevertheless, after she healed, and
that was only because the wedding was
leshem shamayim, there was no
agenda here,
then the Talmud says that her name
changed to Efrat.
Efrat coming from the word rifua,
healing.
So, once she got the healing, then her
name changed to Efrat. It's a very
common name in Israel.
And
I guarantee to you that 99%
of the Efrats in Israel don't even know
who is Efrat.
So, just the other day somebody asked me
is if Alon is a biblical name.
So, it's not a biblical name, but the
name is mentioned in the Torah, and Alon
Bachur was Avraham Avinu's good friend.
So, it's
you can
squeeze in Okay, Alon is in the Torah.
But
there are many, many names that Israelis
have,
they think it's a Israeli common name,
but really it's a biblical name. And one
of them is Efrat. Efrat is a very common
Israeli name. And like I told you, ask
any Efrat in Israel, they're not going
to know who she was.
So, I'm telling you Efrat was Miriam,
the the sister of Moshe Rabbeinu. Later
on, when started the the strong part of
the exile, her name was changed to
Miriam al shem merirut,
the bitterness that started to the
nation of Israel.
Uh
so, we see again the connection that the
Be'er Miriam, the well of Miriam, has
the power of of healing. When is that?
Specifically in the Yam. And why
specifically in the Yam?
Uh
you know, one can get
achieve rifua, healing, anytime. But for
everything there's a time that has more
access to it, less access to it. I know
a lot of people when I say that in the
the days of the calendar,
every day has a different energy and
some days there's a certain
we'll call now an energy or certain
closeness
that you can come closer to Hashem and
achieve a greater result. And we have
days like that like Rosh Hashanah, Yom
Kippur, we have special days, the night
of the Seder of Pesach. There are
special days that are auspicious times.
And I know some people have have it
hard. Well, what? I can only do A, B,
and C on that day.
So, it's important to understand that
first of all, you can do whatever you
want any day. You can do teshuvah any
day of the year, but some days on the
calendar, it's easier to do teshuvah.
And why is that? I gave a long class
many years ago how every day has a
different energy, how God creates the
world.
In his great kindness, God recreates the
world every second.
Right? He didn't only create the world
5,000
plus years ago.
He creates the world every second, which
means if Hashem for 1 second stops
creating the world, nothing exists.
So, Hashem recreates the world every
second and every second that he creates
the world, it's a new energy.
Of course, there's the energy of the
year which comes down in Rosh Hashanah,
and then you have the energy of the
month that comes down in Rosh Chodesh,
but every day is a completely different
energy.
And when I'm talking about energy as the
the way the how the blessing manifests
from the spiritual world into the
physical world, and I gave a long
lecture about that a few years ago how
the spiritual light has to go through
the Sefirot, through so many different
things, through the elements, through
through the letters that create
everything and eventually manifests into
the world. So, it affects the world with
things like
seasons. Cold, hot, rainy, snow. It's
not that it's by chance. It's because
something is happening in the spiritual
world and it manifests into the world.
So,
every day is a brand new energy. Every
day of the calendar is a whole different
shifa
light that is coming from the world
above. Therefore, some days are more
auspicious days to do things. Like
Shabbat. You don't have the same energy
on a Monday like Shabbat.
And more than that, I spoke to somebody
not too long ago. And I explained
I also explained that in many of the
classes. But, every day of the week
corresponds to one of the sephirot that
Hashem created the creates the world.
So, we have seven sephirot that are
midot. And each one corresponds to one
day of creation. So, the first day on
the first day of creation, Hashem used
the sephirah of chesed. On the second
day of creation, Monday, he used the
sephirah of gevurah.
And the third, tiferet, and so forth.
And every day of the week has a
different energy.
With that said, that means that there
are certain days that are more
auspicious are are more easier to come
closer to Hashem.
If you want to understand that,
sometimes you're in a mood that you're
very lazy and sometimes you're in a mood
that you
go-getter and you want to do everything.
So, the same way that sometimes you're
in a lazy mood, sometimes you're in
energy mood. So, sometimes there are
days that doesn't matter what you're
going to do to reach to your point is
going to be very hard.
And some days it's much easier to do
teshuvah and to reverse things.
So,
how
how do we
Oh, sorry, not not how. Why is
specifically
the month of Iyar has a special power of
healing?
Is because I explained to you that every
When I say explained to you, I mean I
I did classes about that. And I know a
lot of people later on say, "Which
class? I I don't remember every class
the name of it, where to find it." So,
I'm just saying I already taught that
and therefore and not the time now to
repeat.
But, every month
there's a certain combination of the
letters of Hashem, of the name of
Hashem,
that switch with the order of the month.
And with that order of the letters is
the entire energy of the month.
Kind of like saying that if I have a
transparent cup
and I have clear water, then I see the
water clear.
But, if I put clear water in a
transparent cup but has a blue shade,
then the water would look blue.
And the same thing with red and same
thing with any color.
Which means what causes the color? The
shade of the cup, not the the the the
the liquid.
Same thing here.
Hashem shines his light through the
universe coming from the world of world
of Atzilut, but the light is
transparent.
You can't see the light.
When Hashem places his name
in a certain order,
every month is different. For example,
the first month of the year, the month
of Nisan, the order of the letters are
like the name of Hashem, Yud Kay Vav
Kay, Yud and then a Hay and then a Vav
and then a Hay. The the actual order.
Which means in the month of Sivan, the
energy is flowing exactly how it's how
it's supposed to be.
But, every month the letters change.
And
the example that I'm trying to give you,
I gave you with the cup. If you color
the cup, the water will uh the color of
the water will be different. Another
example, if I will now shoot a beam of
light on the wall, I project light on
the wall, most likely on the wall it
would be a tone of like a yellow tone or
whatever the wall is, off-white, beige,
whatever it would whatever the wall is,
whatever it would it's reflecting.
But if I now take some material
like a liquid filter uh that will have a
blue color or green or red and I put it
between the beam of light and the wall
that is projecting the light, now the
wall the color on the wall will be red
or whatever color I put.
You follow the example?
What do we get from that? The light
doesn't change.
So here I give two example, A with the
water, so now in this example the light
is the water, the water doesn't change,
it's the cup that changes.
Same thing here with the example on the
light on the wall, the light doesn't
change, it's the filter that the light
is projecting through.
Same thing here.
So if the order of the letters of Hashem
or Nissan is Yud and then a Hey and then
a Vav and then a Hey, the order of Yud
Hey Vav Hey, then when the godly light
shines through the letters, it shines to
the world in a certain way.
Now switch the order of the letters,
light is the same. Now the filter is
different. So the energy that comes down
to the month is is different.
With that said, the combinations like I
told you of Nissan is Yud Hey and then a
Vav and then a Hey. The next month later
Iyar, the combination is Yud, then a
Hey, then another Hey, then a Vav.
Yud Hey, then a Hey, then a Vav.
The first thing that uh hits you when
you're looking at it that both Heys are
together.
Okay?
So let me give you a little bit of
explanations. This is a little bit more
in the level of Kabbalah, but I hope
I'll be able to give it over clear.
The Arizal says that these two
combinations of Nissan and Ni'ar
the order of the letters
correspond to the tefillin of Rashi and
Rabbenu Tam.
What's the signifi- significance?
Rashi says that the order of the
tefillin has to be a certain way.
For the ones of you who are aware, there
are four types of tefillin.
Okay, what do you mean four types? In
the tefillin, there is a parchment.
And in the four different types, four
different commentaries says, "I think
the order should be
as follow."
So, Rashi, which is the most common
tefillin, all men put the tefillin of
Rashi,
he says the order of the parshiyot has
to be in the order like Yud Key Vav Key.
Right? Which makes more sense. First is
the par- parasha of Kadesh, then Vehaya,
then Sh'ma, and then V'haya im Sh'moa.
Right? That's the order of the parchment
in the tefillin according to Rashi. In
the order of Yud and then the Hey and
the Vav and then the Hey. That's the
common way of tefillin.
Rabbenu Tam says, "No, I disagree with
the order
of the parchments because if you know or
haven't, I'll
explain. In the tefillin that we have in
the hand, there's one parchment. It's
rolled into a big roll. When you open
it, it has the parashot on it. In the
head, it's divided into four uh
divisions. And in each one, there's one
parchment roll, small, and it's placed
into the leather case.
According to Rashi, the the order of the
parchments has to be, like I told you,
Kadesh, V'haya im Sh'moa, Sh'ma Yisrael,
the Sorry, Kadesh, Vehaya, Sh'ma
Yisrael, V'haya im Sh'moa. That's the
order of Rashi, and he explains it
according to the follow flow of Yud Key
Vav Key.
Rabbenu Tam on the other hand, says,
"No.
It has to be first Kadesh, then Vehayam
Shemua, then Vehaya Ki Yavi'acha, and
then Shema Yisrael."
That's how Rabbeinu Tam says, and many
men, they put a next a second pair of
tefillin.
So, some, if you notice, they put two
pairs of tefillin.
They wear the small box, and they put
put two pairs. One is Rashi, one is
Rabbeinu Tam. They pray with both of
them with this the whole time. Some
people,
it depends on what you follow, they
finish the prayer completely, take the
Rashi off, put the Rabbeinu Tam on, and
they continue another part of the
prayer. Some take it off in the middle
of the prayer. There's different
according to what no matter you go by.
Nevertheless, it's a different type of
tefillin. A lot of men take on
themselves to upgrade their tefillin
mitzvah, and they do both Rashi and
Rabbeinu Tam to cover all grounds.
Rabbeinu Tam, why does he hold so strong
about his opinion? Because he says
according to his order, the Vehayam
Shemua, Vehaya Ki Yavi'acha, the two
Havayot are together. The two Hays are
together.
And according to him, that does
something as follow. He says as follows.
If you're looking at the order of the
parshiot, the first one is Kadesh, so it
has the letter shin. Let's put shin
aside, and shin has three arms. So,
we're putting the first shin aside,
three arms on the shin.
It corresponds to the number three.
Then the last
pair the last parshia is Shema. Again, a
shin. Here it starts with the shin
because Kadesh ends with the shin. The
shin and the shin again together. Three
arms of the shin, another three.
Now, look at the tefillin, the external
part of the tefillin, cuz now we're
talking about the internal part of that
feeling.
You follow? So, we have two shins in the
internal part of that feeling
bringing me the value of six. Now, the
external part of that feeling, one side
of that that feeling has a shin that has
three arms and the other shin has four
arms.
That's another class. If you remember, I
gave a long class in one of the parsha
classes why we have the the fourth the
the four arm shin.
So, here we have four shins in total.
Three of them with three arms and one
with four arms. Arms, I'm talking about
the arm of the shin. That's totaling 13.
13 is the gematria of
Shema Yisrael
Hashem Echad brings the unity of Hashem.
And according to Kabbalah and according
to Rabbeinu Tam, then there's two
Havayots, they have to be together.
That's the the the explanations of
Rabbeinu Tam. The the two Heys should
not be far away from each other.
Uh
what's interesting here that if we're
looking at this
explanation, again, based on the
teachings of Kabbalah, then the Ari Zal
says, "The level of the feeling of Rashi
is in the sphere of Bina
and the level of the feeling of Rabbeinu
Tam is in the level of Hochma."
So, again, we have the same we we we
come to the same
conclusion how Iyar is not only the
month that brings down
the refuah, rather the month that is
rooted Hochma, the wisdom. Which the
significance here is everything comes
from the Hochma of the Kadosh Baruch Hu,
from the wisdom of Hashem.
Now, let's continue with
the month of Iyar and Sivan. So, the
combination of the month of Sivan of
Iyar is Yud, then a Hey, then a Hey,
then a Vav. So, we have the two Heys
together, which according to Rabbeinu
Tam and according to many other great
Mekubalim, when the two Havayot are
together, that is what brings the the
opportunity for refuah, for healing.
And by the way, that here the refuah,
many of the times, the the the
healing is dependent on the sins that we
do, because uh when a person, has
v'shalom, is sick is sick, the first
thing thing he needs to ask himself is
what sin did I do?
Uh many examples for that from our
sages, but we know that in the Talmud it
says, "Lo hanachash mamit ela a chet."
It's not the snake that makes you die,
has v'shalom, if the snake bites you.
It's the sin.
Cuz we do find in the history that
certain individuals, doesn't matter what
happened to them, they didn't die, not
as a result from a snake bite or
anything. Our sages conclude by saying,
"What kills you is your sin."
So, 99% of the time our sicknesses and
our diseases is our sins. And if you're
able to reverse engineer, you'll figure
out, hopefully, what is happening. What
why?
But now we want to concentrate on the
fact that the the entire month of Iyar
has the potential of healing. So, of
course, I don't know what each and every
person did, but some people they focus
in the month of Iyar to get closer to
the Master of the Universe, to do
teshuvah, strengthen in Torah and
mitzvot, to hopefully bring on
themselves the refuah.
But comes something very interesting.
First of all, the the connection to Iyar
to Chochmah, everything originates in in
the sphere of Chochmah. Like I told you
in the beginning of the class,
everything is included in the head, in
the Rosh. When we have a Rosh Chodesh,
Rosh Hashanah, here is the same same
idea that everything is included in
Hochma.
If you backtrack or reverse engineer in
the Sefirot,
first it says Hochma Me'ayin Timatzei,
where does Hochma come from? Hochma
comes from Ayin. Ayin is the place of
nothingness, of of emptiness and
oblivion obliviousness. That's the
Sefirah that's the world of Atzilut.
Hochma is the first Nekudah, the first
dot of of wisdom that appears in the
world world of Atzilut, and from that
dot, exactly like you have a seed
of a tree, that seed has in it the
potential of a trunk and branches and
leaves and fruit and the potential of
rejuvenating and bringing fruit all the
time. Imagine all this system
is
is genetically placed in that little
seed.
The exact same thing in a much larger
scale is when we're talking about the
Sefirah Sefirah of Hochma.
Hochma is that first dot, the first
Nekudah, that includes everything in it.
That it takes many many levels of
manifestation to develop the Hochma. So,
the Iyar is the the root of Hochma is
corresponding to Iyar. So, we have here
the ability not only to reach great
level of
of healing, but to reach to the place of
what would be the the right word because
in Hebrew I would say Makor, to the
source.
To
The thing is that anything you want to
reverse, you need to go to the source.
Any situation that that is a problem,
you can
take care of it on the surface.
But really the only place how you can
take care of something is if you go to
the source.
So,
I'm saying Makor is is source. I I
There's another word that I think will
explain it different, but but you
following what I'm saying is that the
makor for everything, the source for
everything is in the sphere of Hochma,
which is in the month of Iyar. So, many
things can be achieved in the month of
Iyar. That's why we do Sefirat HaOmer.
The
the month where we can refine ourselves,
work on ourselves, the month that we're
preparing to receive the Torah. Without
the month of Iyar, we can't receive the
Torah. And the Torah, again, corresponds
to the Hochma.
So, the month of Iyar, again, each
person in their level, hopefully you did
you did well. Hopefully you were able to
focus on the
refining yourself. I know
many people they start the Sefirat
HaOmer. After 4 days, they forget to
count, and then there's nothing really
happens from that. Which is a great
shame. It's not a hard mitzvah. Only
takes a few minutes. I know there's a
question if women should do it or not.
Now it's past the fact. We're already
almost done with Sefirat HaOmer. But
these are things that I spoke about in
many of my classes. Uh
the opinions if a woman should do
Sefirat HaOmer or not should do Sefirat
HaOmer. There's difference of opinions.
The the best way to do is to do it cuz
the teachings of Kabbalah says women
should not do Sefirat HaOmer. And if
they do, not to not to do it with a
bracha. And but mainly to do the work
the the work of the refinement, not
specifically the counting itself. But we
see that in the month of Iyar you can
achieve a lot.
Now comes the big question. Now you're
giving me the class. A month at the end
of the month you're telling me I can
achieve a lot in Iyar.
So, first of all, we had a month in we
had a class in Rosh Chodesh Iyar. So,
when I said what you can achieve. So,
you can rewind now. Go to YouTube.
You'll find the class.
But something very special happens
tomorrow and Friday, which it will
happen in every year. I mean, this year
happens Thursday, Friday. I don't know
if the video will be watched next year,
it will be different days.
But, the energy of the month of Sivan
has a
common denominator with the energy of
Iyar.
And if we're looking at the order of the
letters
of the month of Nissan, I told you Yud
Kay Vav Kay. The month of Iyar, then
it's a Yud, then a Hay, then a Hay, then
a Vav.
The Hays are together.
The combination of the letters in the
month of Sivan is a Yud, then a Vav,
which is kind of like the outer part of
Iyar, and then Hay Hay.
So, again, we have the two Havayots
together.
According to the Kabbalah, where because
these two months both have the Hay Hay
and the Hay Hay, the two Havayots, then
it's like a magnet, they attach to each
other.
And in the like I told you before, in
the order of the
uh uh um
Shvatim, the order of the tribes,
then the tribe of the month of Iyar is
Issachar, and the tribe of the month of
Sivan is Zebulun. Again, the the unity
of them.
Now, what comes so special is
Erev Rosh Chodesh
in our year is tomorrow tomorrow
evening, Thursday evening, which means
that from Thursday afternoon, from
Mincha, around Chatzot, around midday,
then the energy of Erev Rosh Chodesh
kicks in.
We don't say Tachanun, like I told you
before, no confession, no Viduy.
And the spirit of Rosh Chodesh is
starting to to kick in.
Then, of course, in the at night, sun
goes down, stars go out, comes Rosh
Chodesh. So, if we're looking at Rosh
Chodesh in itself, then
you know, Rosh Chodesh, Erev Rosh
Chodesh is an auspicious time to do
Teshuvah, to learn Torah, to take on
yourself good things, to pray. And Rosh
Chodesh, of course, is when you come.
It's the time just follow what the Rosh
Chodesh tells you to do.
Pray three times. In the morning of Rosh
Chodesh, you have to listen to the
Torah, recite the prayer of Hallel.
Whatever you need to do. I mean, our
sages already told us exactly what you
need to do.
Don't know we need to guess something.
Follow the Rosh Chodesh. Add on that a
good
Rosh Chodesh meal. Not mandatory, but
highly recommended. And all the rest of
the things that one wants to do on Rosh
Chodesh, and you will be blessed
blessed month for the entire month.
But this month, the combination of Rosh
Chodesh
and Erev Rosh Chodesh, what happens is
is that the last day of anything, or the
last moment of everything, it's the
conclusion.
If you remember,
last like two or three months ago, the
last day of of Adar,
we had
classes, and I told you it's the last
day of Adar,
which means it's the last day of the
year.
Uh
spiritual year starts on Rosh Chodesh
Nisan, not Rosh Chodesh not on Rosh
Hashanah.
So, the last day of Adar has the energy
of concluding the entire year.
And gives over the conclusion to the
next day. So, the conclusion always
comes and affects the the following.
Like the Zohar says about Shabbat, kolu
yamim midbarim minay. All the days after
Shabbat, they get blessed from the
Shabbat.
So, we here we have the conclusion of
the month of Iyar,
where the day that every day has a
different energy. Like I told you before
with the combinations of the letters of
Hashem. I gave you the example with the
cup, the example with the beam of light.
Every day has a different energy.
It's similar energy
every every year when there's a
repetition.
Which means let's say the the today is
the 28th of Iyar.
So, every 28th of Iyar, every year has
similar energy. It has the same so to
say, I call it shablona, like
like
how would you call it? Like
uh
the the shape of it doesn't change.
So, every 28th of Iyar has the same type
of energy.
Of course, it's different every year
because it changes in many different
factors, but every day of the year has a
totally different energy. The day of the
last day of Iyar that meets meets the
first day of Sivan has a very powerful
energy to bring a refuah to a person, to
bring great healing to a person.
Now, most of us, if you look very good
in your
medical sheet, have a medical issues.
Uh everybody, I don't know the person
that just hops all day long and no
medical issues. I wish everybody great
health and strong health. And
Hashem should know if somebody's
battling disease or sickness, should
have an immediate recovery.
The sad reality that we're all sick.
And if we're not sick in our body, which
I doubt that there's anyone in the world
that doesn't have some type of sickness.
And maybe
maybe a lot of people are healthy and a
lot of people are much healthier than
others. They lead a healthy lifestyle,
but they will still have different
things they need to deal with in regards
to the health department. They may be
teeth problems or bones or whatever.
Listen, it's a huge blessing to be
healthy.
I look around at people. Most people are
not healthy. Most people are kvetching
all day long, some type of pain.
To live with painless, that's a huge
blessing. And the reality is that I look
around at people. Most people are in
some type of pain. They might not be
battling a disease right now. Has
v'shalom. That's
a whole different level.
And that's a lot of people, too.
I'm talking about a majority of people
in the world that battling some type of
disease.
Then, of course, there's the things that
are
like day-to-day
that we all have.
Here, also, we're talking about a flu
and a sniffle.
Uh
it's more severe the the sickness of the
soul.
If you pay attention in the blessing
that we say on Shabbat, uh
when we have the Torah and we're
blessing the sick people, we say flu and
a sniffle or a cough. First, the body,
then the First, the the soul, then the
body.
So,
tomorrow night is a very powerful night
for a person to stop their life
and to introspect, to do uh
your self-assessment,
and to uh we don't say tachanun on Rosh
Chodesh and not on Erev Rosh Chodesh,
but you can still introspect and do some
self-assessment, and to come to the
conclusion that
I do have some
uh physical or emotional sicknesses. You
figure it out what's your sickness. We
all have it.
If you didn't come up with some type of
sickness, something's wrong with you.
That that is the sickness, the denial
that everything is uh that thinking
everything is okay.
So, and again, you use your imagination.
If you can't find physical
uh sickness, then it has to be on the
neshama.
And
uh I I strongly doubt everybody has
something physically they deal with. And
you can always reverse engineer. Why is
my hip
hurting? Why is my back hurting? Why is
my leg hurting?
I I always find a good answer when I
have a certain pain. And by the way,
sometimes it's hashgacha pratit. If you
remember a year and a half ago, I broke
my hand. And I was like, "Why Why?" I
mean, I it was involved in in pain. It
was involved in being very
uncomfortable. It was in the summer.
And And again, the mind was right away,
"Why did I break the right hand? And why
is it here and not here?" And
you ask the right questions, you'll get
the right answers.
So, to conclude,
A, we're concluding a very powerful
month.
Hopefully, you built a very good vessel
this month through Sefirat HaOmer. I
hope you were involved in that cuz
usually in Sefirat HaOmer, you're also
involved in also some learning.
Uh
cuz when you want to refine yourself,
you need to learn a lot.
So, hopefully, you did some type of
action, knowingly or not knowingly, that
gave you a very good vessel this month
that our sages gave us Sefirat HaOmer.
That's really how you build your vessel
throughout the month of Iyar.
Happens to be that you missed it.
If you're now watching this video,
you're now sitting here and you're
saying, "Wow. Wow.
The 28th day of of Iyar and I didn't do
nothing in the month of Iyar." It's kind
of like Elul. Rosh Chodesh Elul comes,
everybody
like
Popeye, you know, full of energy. That's
it. This Chodesh Elul,
I'm doing everything.
Three days later, you already forgot
what you need to do.
And comes the 28th day of Elul
or the 27th. Uh and you're like, "I
didn't do nothing. No Slichot. No
Teshuvah. I didn't read Tehillim. I
didn't do nothing." Two days before Rosh
Hashanah.
So, it's the same thing with the month
of Iyar. Hopefully, hopefully, Hashem
gave you this chud that you did things
certain actions that gives you this chud
to have the right clee from the month of
Iyar. Why? Because in a few days, we're
getting the Torah.
Next Tuesday is the month this is the
holiday of Shavuot and that's when we
receive the Torah. And if it happened
a 3,000 plus years ago, it happens every
year. Which means what happens on
Shavuot night is what happened in Matan
Torah. If you are aligned to the to the
light
and you created the vessel throughout
the month of Iyar, then yeah, and
Shavuot next week you receive the Torah.
Now,
I will come with the solution to the
majority.
The minority will tell me, "Rabbi,
this year my Omer was the best Omer in
history."
That's the minority.
Uh
the majority will be like,
"Uh you know, I started, I lost count, I
didn't do anything, I didn't learn,
didn't do Tikun Hamidot, didn't try to
refine myself, and here it is 2 days
before the end of Iyar and I got
nothing."
So, don't worry, you're not the only
one. I do hope and wish, I know many
people take things serious.
This year Baruch Hashem
uh the the the book that I wrote for
Sefirat Omer was available. I know a lot
of people used it and commented that
uh that it made their Sefirat Omer
completely different.
So, now comes the big question for the
ones who uh I say the majority didn't do
their Avodah in Sefirat Omer.
So, what that's it? Now now what are we
going to do? Sefirat Omer Sheni? We had
Pesach Sheni, that didn't work. Now
we're going to Sefirat Omer Sheni.
So, many people say, "Listen, you know,
I tried, but
uh I I didn't do much and I want to come
now to Shavuot with a good strong
vessel. I want to receive the Torah. I
want to receive Refuah." You know what's
the first thing that happened in Matan
Torah?
They all got healed.
They couldn't receive the Torah sick.
So, the first event that happened before
the show, they all got healed.
The blind started seeing, the deaf
started hearing, crippled people stood
up, everybody got healed.
So, we know that we have the ability for
us to receive the Torah, you need the
health, you need the health.
But more than that, the month of Iyar,
forwarding the month of Nissan with the
events before Shavuot, brings to the
soul and to the body the health.
So, what can be achieved in the next two
days? No, it's not the same thing what
you could have done the last month.
And really the time of
Sefirat HaOmer for refining your midot,
it's the perfect time
where you have the vessels to refine
yourself. Every day you work on one
midah.
Hopefully you did it the right way, then
you can
receive the Torah.
I recommend that people work on their
midot is a daily thing, it's not once a
year, limited to once a year. But today,
the we want to to understand that even
if I didn't do much throughout Sefirat
HaOmer, and I now can come to fall into
despair, what? I missed the whole month
of Iyar, what can I do? What should I
do? Not fair. We had Pesach Sheni a few
weeks ago, why can't I have a second
chance, third chance, fourth chance?
Then, first of all, every person can
have as many chances as they need.
What one can do, and this is just
explained, like I told you, based on the
teachings of Kabbalah, the connection of
Iyar and Sivan is very very strong.
Which means that a person still has the
ability to take the power of Rosh
Chodesh, which is the power of teshuvah,
and retroactively
achieve what he could have achieved in
he, she in the month of Iyar,
as long as they're both together. The
the four Havayot. And again, not to
overexplain
the complicated part what we explained
on Rabbeinu Tam, but I explained to you
the four Havayot V'haya Im Shamoa V'haya
Ki Yavi'acha. And the four Havayot,
Havaya is also
the way how we
change the name when we want to say Yud
Kay Vav Kay, we say Havaya.
Nevertheless, we have here a strong
combination that when the month of Iyar
meets the the turning point not the
turning point, the meeting point.
The meeting point, that's where the the
power and the energy is. So, what is
left to do is tomorrow. Erev Rosh
Chodesh, I'm still in the month of Iyar.
So, I'm holding the energy of Iyar. I
can tap into the energy of Iyar.
And then I'm already meeting, greeting
the month of Sivan.
Energy both together tomorrow night, you
have one hell of a party.
Okay?
So, that's really what you want to take
from that. You want to take from that
that a there's never lost the
opportunity.
You still have another few days before
Shavuot
to brighten your vessel, to brighten
your clay, and to receive a unbelievable
blessing on Shavuot. Nothing
is ever lost. What's important to take
from that is that tomorrow
you want to be available in the after
Chatzot.
And
and to be available to start your
Teshuvah process.
And to know that you have a few hours
to do your preparation of Teshuvah, and
then comes in Rosh Chodesh, but you have
to do on Rosh Chodesh do what you need
to do.
Uh you want to make sure men for sure,
no question, the three minyanim. And you
should make a huge effort, and we're now
talking to the women, that on Friday
morning you go to a shul to hear the
Kriat HaTorah, the hearing of the Torah.
To hear and recite the Hallel.
And then to hear Musaf.
And Friday morning, yeah, to hear Musaf
and to be able to answer because tfilat
Musaf, the prayer of Musaf, that was the
prayer that was the the ritual. We now
praying. Musaf is a is an offering.
It's an offering that the Kohanim used
to do, the priests, on Rosh Chodesh, a
special offering. And that would be for
forgiveness and atonement.
We don't have Beit Hamikdash yet, so we
prayer.
We prayer. So, what you want to do? If
you available tomorrow, Thursday
afternoon, and this Listen, every Rosh
Chodesh is amazing. Every Erev Rosh
Chodesh is amazing. Here this month then
we have the two months attached.
Uh
I don't want to continue explaining. I
see the time is already going very long.
But there's another explanation how
could it be that the Sefirat HaOmer the
the whole entire month of Iyar is
Sefirat HaOmer, a little bit of Nissan,
a little bit of of of Sivan.
So, again, the same level, same idea.
I'll see
Iyar is holding both ends together. So,
we getting the energy of Nissan, the
energy of Sivan
to make things simple, not to
overcomplicate things. Tomorrow
afternoon is when you need to look into
yourself, do your teshuvah.
There's a certain prayers that one needs
to recite. I myself, I go every Rosh
Chodesh to the grave of Rabbi Meir.
That I go I explained to you many times.
I go there, very special place to pray.
If you can make it out there and pray on
Rosh Chodesh.
But there's also
inyan, if you can, on Erev Rosh Chodesh
of Sivan, to go in Tiberias to the Shal
HaKadosh.
And I like going Rambam and the Shal
right next to each other.
Uh
good to pray also by Rambam. Rambam you
all know was a doctor. Excuse me.
We pray for
all the children. For the children,
yeah. Yes, there's a certain prayer for
the children. So, I I will spend my Rosh
Chodesh and Rosh Chodesh in Tiberias.
But, there are certain prayers that one
should recite.
I have it on my website. I don't
remember the name of the page. I think
it's at smu.org/rabbi
Meir. I'm not sure. So, best to go on
the website or on the any of social
media you have the link to the to the
page, but it has all the prayer that one
wants to recite. Not a lot.
One of them is to read
the name of Rabbi Meir through chapter
Tehillim 119. Kuf Yud Tet.
So, if we want to read Rabbi Meir Baal
HaNes, that's one thing that we read.
So, we take the word Rabbi, we find in
Kuf Yud Tet in 119 Resh, and we read the
eight lines of Resh.
And then the letter Yud, so I go to Kuf
Yud Tet 119, I find the Yud, read the
Yud once. And that's how you read the
name. If it's long, uh
the right way, if one needs salvation,
refuah, any type of miracle, is to read
the same way the name of the person.
So, I have a lot of Yud to read. A lot
of Yud Yud Alef Sameach. That's
That's 13 letters. Mhm? Yeah, that's
So, it's 13 letters, so I have to read
Alef all the Alefs in Kuf Yud Tet. Then
I do Lamed all the Lameds in Kuf Yud
Tet. Kuf Yud Tet is 119. If you read in
English, it's not going to work for you.
You have to read it in Hebrew to
understand, or in English you can read
it. You just have to find what
corresponds to the letters.
Cuz in English it's not the same
letters. In Hebrew, the first verses of
Kuf Yud Tet is all the Alefs. And then
the next is all the Bets.
So, if you can do that for your name,
best.
Uh
and then a few other prayers, it's all
on the webpage. Like you said, the
prayers for the kids and prayer the
Shalah has very special prayers for Rosh
Chodesh. If you if you can make it to
Tveria
by the way Shala
I don't speak enough of him.
I want to make a
series of classes about the Tikun
because I tell people to read Tikun but
I never explained it.
But the Shala
is the one who
exposed and explained the story that I
told you
and
it's the Shala that explains that. And
the Shala actually says exactly where
the Beer Miriam is. I mean you can't
find it.
But he gives the location where it is
and in Tveria there is
location that was once the shoe of the
Shala.
Now there's a minister there some
How do you say
monastery? Something like that.
Not not a church. I think it's a
monastery.
That's where the shoe of the Shala was.
The Shala
he lived in Jerusalem.
He was like any normal rabbi very
unliked.
And they were constantly bothering him
there to a some point that it was so bad
they put him in jail. They locked him
up. There was one guy there that he knew
that he was a great rabbi. He kidnapped
him and demanded a huge amount that he
knew the Jews will pay.
He had a lot of issues in Jerusalem so
he relocated to Tveria and he opened his
shoe. He says it's exactly you see from
that place the Kinneret. He says it's
exactly in front of it. If you want to
go and look
for Beer Miriam.
Where is it in Tveria? Yeah because the
Kinneret's everywhere. Well
I don't know the name of the streets but
it's close to where the grave of the
Shala right now is.
And there's a place right now it's
called the the of the and
and and that's it. You can see the
Kinneret from there. It's in the city of
Tiberias.
But nevertheless,
he says that he knows I mean
he says that's where the well Miriam is.
So he has all very very powerful prayers
on air of Rosh Chodesh also good to
recite. So you'll find it all on the on
the website. I I I think it's at
smudat.org/rabbimeir.
Maybe I'm wrong, but if you go on the
website, it will be on the homepage.
You'll see it. But definitely
recommended tomorrow. Remember this year
it's on a Thursday. Take your time.
Take your time to read the Tehillim.
Take the time to sit with yourself and
to do teshuvah, real teshuvah because
right now
the Kadosh Baruch Hu is closing and
closing on everybody. It's stronger now.
Everybody now, whatever challenges they
had, it's now intensifying.
Everybody now is dealing with something.
It's actually unbelievable to what
extent everybody is dealing with things
in so many different areas, but all in
the three that I told you.
Banim, mazon, and revicha. Household
issues,
uh
health, and parnassah, your livelihood.
And the sad reality, it's going to
become worse because that's the birth
canal of Mashiach. We have to go through
this suffering.
But a lot of the suffering is our own
doing.
It's our own stupidity.
Like the man that I told you with the
water that he threw the water on the
floor. He could have he could have
healed you.
What you could What could have healed
you, you smashed on the floor.
So it's our own limitation that brings
on ourselves the suffering. We're
judgmental. We're jealous. We speak bad
about other people. We hear lashon hara.
Speak lashon hara. Spread lashon hara.
We can all become much much better in in
our avodat Hashem
to become much more closer to the Torah
and and
get to a level that Shabbat is much
greater, kashrut is better. We all have
what to do. I That's my first line of
defense. Something happens in my life, I
right away go and ask myself, "What did
I sin?"
And that's because the Talmud says
clearly, "A ball been a dummy so lame if
I scratch my master."
If
it comes hardship, challenges,
something, look in your actions.
If you didn't find,
then could very much be that it's a
tikun from a previous incarnation. Could
very much be or from a sin from 40 years
ago.
And he continues in the Talmud and says,
"And if you still didn't find anything,
then it's a one big tool Torah."
That you you you are on Facebook, Tik
Tok, Instagram. That's big tool Torah.
You could you can learn Torah. Instead
of that, you're
wasting your time.
That's a one big tool Torah. Even women,
they don't have that sin. But
nevertheless, why
even women should have instead of being
on Instagram for 3 hours, learn Torah.
So, and then he continues in the Talmud
and if still you find that you don't
have any sins and you don't have big
tool Torah and you still have hardship,
so it says any you so lame chill over.
Means Hashem loves you so much. He's
bringing some type of hardship on you
that to cleanse whatever it needs to be
cleansed.
So, the the reality is we're all going
through a lot of challenges. We're going
through a lot of difficulties
in all three departments of the how I
call it households, bunny, with raising
my kids, shalom bite, finding my other
half,
dealing with a horrible marriage. When
it comes to marriage, Hashem this is a
department that everybody has their
hands full. On one side, you have the
ones who are single praying all day long
to find their other half.
Bring the other side
and tell them the ones who are praying
all day long, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold
those prayers.
Uh you might be better off by yourself
now that I'm on the other side."
So, when we single, we pray all day long
to find our other half. Finally, we have
the other half praying all day long,
"What did you send?
What did What What is this?"
So, so the recommendation is don't pray
for your other half.
You know, when I when I
when we first got married, my wife and
me,
she and my wife was very very upset that
she didn't get pregnant the first few
months.
And
but upset in levels of upset. How can it
be? What's going on?
And I kept telling her, "We're going to
have the next 30 years
uh kids around us.
I want to enjoy my wife for at least a
year. Once we have kids, I we won't have
our our private life. So, why are you in
a rush to have kids? Uh
if it will come in a year, at least I
enjoy my wife for another year."
She didn't relate with what I'm saying.
So, Hashem answered her prayers, she got
pregnant. But what I'm saying is when I
was single, as I also got married
considerably late,
uh I was like, "Okay, now I'm single.
Get it Take advantage."
Uh I know it's not fun to be single,
especially when you older and you
waiting and you but now you single, take
advantage. Do things that you cannot do
when you married or you won't do when
you married or you can't do when you
married.
Et le ledet, et le mout. HaMelech
says there's a time for everything. It's
like God has now took away from my
money. I don't have money right now. I
don't need to look at it, "Oh my God,
now Hashem is punishing me." Hashem is
telling me other words, "Right now you
don't need money. Right now you need to
focus on other things."
Or right now you single, you need to
focus on other things, not not on a
spouse.
Et le ledet ve et le mout. This is
should be your motto. A time to live,
time to die.
But nevertheless,
the majority of bad things that happens
to us in our life is our own action.
That's it. That's how it is.
And again, big things A lot of people
think, "Oh, I I I missed my shidduch."
I'm talking now in I'm finding the other
half. Maybe I did this sin, I missed the
shidduch. You didn't miss the shidduch.
People are have all these things in
their mind.
Hashem is not going to make you miss
your other half.
It may be in your stupidity will come in
with a lot of challenges, but Hashem is
not going to say like, "Okay, you
ignored moving next."
But it's important for us to understand
that we have to take responsibility to
our actions.
I believe that a large amount of our
difficulties and challenges in our life
is because of our our own actions.
Therefore, one needs to do teshuvah and
to work on themselves. And tomorrow you
have an opportunity to take such a
powerful time
with the energy of Sivan and Nissan and
Iyar, everything together. It's just
like I told you, every day on the
calendar, 365 days, every day has a
different color.
When Mashiach is going to come, we are
going to be exposed to a lot more
colors.
What we have now in the world is not all
the colors that exist. The world right
now is very pale and very
uh washed out. That's what I say, washed
out, washed washed off. Like looking at
a picture from the '60s. Worn out. Worn
out. Very pale, no uh contrast, low
contrast. When Mashiach is going to
come, boom, something is going to
happen, the colors are going to be
insane.
As it says with Adam and Hava, ta'anug
la'einayim, it was pleasure to the eyes.
They couldn't get it off. They couldn't
take it, stop looking.
So, the colors will be very very vivid.
Why? Every day has a different color.
Every day is a a different color on the
color spectrum. Now, you have millions
of colors. We only have 365 days of the
year, but every day they're all
different color.
When you take two colors together, then
you get another shade of color.
So, tonight Sorry, tomorrow we're taking
two shades of color. We're taking the
last day of Iyar, the first day of
Sivan, putting them together.
Let's trust Rabbeinu Tam and the Beit
Yosef and the Shalakh HaKadosh. You have
the four Havayot between us. I don't
even know what it means when you have
the four Havayot together. I understand
what he's saying.
But to put it in my mind when the four
Heys meet,
that's beyond us. I can understand the
math here and I understand what he's
saying. But to picture in my mind why
four Heys together, arba Havayot, what
it does, I just trust the big boys. I do
what they say. Therefore, I take it that
tomorrow is a good day to do teshuvah.
To understand that everything can be
reversed. Hashem is waiting for us to do
teshuvah. All it needs to take is a
little bit of effort. And to also
understand that when you do teshuvah,
when you're coming in a very powerful
day, why did I tell you also before, the
day makes a difference.
If you're coming to a court case, which
is a very severe court case, and you're
coming by yourself, you have less
chances if you're coming with a lawyer.
This is the same thing. Sometimes the
day itself is your lawyer.
So, you're coming to do teshuvah with a
lawyer because it's a special day, and
it was Rosh Chodesh, Rosh Chodesh. So,
the day is your lawyer. Your teshuvah is
accepted much better.
So, Be'ezrat Hashem, all that's left is
to wish you Chodesh Tov. Be'ezrat
Hashem, we should all be blessed with
the healing power of the month of Iyar
with true health, strong health, where
we need them, a miraculous and immediate
recovery. And going into the month of
Sivan, where we're blessed with
receiving the Torah, receiving the the
shefa, the abundance. Hashem should
bless us all with parnassah tovah, with
good livelihood, and with all the things
that we need. That we should be blessed
that we ourselves should not be stopping
our own blessing. And I hope you take to
consideration the good advice, take the
time. If you you're local, if you can
make it out, go to the grave of the
Shalah
and
Shalah and Rambam are right next to each
other. If you can't, still recite the
prayer and
and do it on the right time. Beautify
Rosh Chodesh. I know it's Erev Shabbat.
A lot of people don't like washing and
doing a meal on Shabbat on Friday. If
you do, then do it on Friday morning.
You can't wash for a meal after chatzos
or tomorrow night, do your Rosh Chodesh
meal.
Uh come tomorrow. It's
my son's bar mitzvah. You can do here
your Rosh Chodesh meal.
But you want to do a meal that you say
Birkas Hamazon and you can add all the
additions. You want to make Rosh Chodesh
special. And why? That Hashem should see
our effort, should have mercy on our on
our actions and on our sins, forgive our
actions and our sins and bless us with a
great month, with a great health, bless
us to receive the Torah, bless us to
receive the healing that the Torah came
with and we should have a
a
healthy and safe summer
wherever wherever we are. Amen.
