faith at work if someone's a
person with certain religious ideals
practices rituals and they work in an
office that doesn't have that same
practices or restrictions how do they
deal with it
great question so let me just give you a
couple of ideas
first and foremost never ever
ever be embarrassed of your faith
faith is something of pride and no one
that i've ever encountered in my life
ever thought otherwise people are there
to do a job
and everyone has things outside the
office
and if you believe that faith is
important to you and you
hold it with pride people will respect
you for your faith
they will allow themselves to respect
you for who you are
therefore asking in a way that is
respectful
for time off for faith is part and
parcel of the modern business world
there's something to be embarrassed
about if you can't eat certain foods
or there are days you have to take off
or there are moments or times
but you got to do it with the right
level of
care and concern to the larger
organization
many times me personally many jobs that
i had
i would take off for sabbath i would
take off for holidays
but i would always be on for other
holidays
i would always be the first person that
would email the group and go hey guys
i'm working on
christmas or thanksgiving or other
holidays where i could work
i'd be working saturday nights or
sundays to get my job done
you have to understand that businesses
are there to produce a certain amount of
product
and at the end of the day what they want
more than anything in the world
are responsible employees that are
excited for what they do and do a great
job
no business today needs you to be on 24
hours a day
every business today should allocate
time
for each person to take care of whatever
they need personally
family faith hobbies
medical whatever that is your job
is to be able to express to your
employees
and to your employers that you're here
you're ready to grow
you're ready to work and that your faith
is a piece of who you
are that you respect but it's not going
to get away of your
ability to produce and when you show
yourself as a certain type during the
work day
and you're willing to do things even
after the typical work day
you're sending a message and the message
is i take my job seriously
i like what i'm doing and i'm going to
add and my faith is not
my excuse to get out my faith is
actually building me
making me who i am but that
person is the person you hired and
that's the person that's gonna
ultimately continue to deliver results
to the company
and if you think of it that way and the
people around you
if they don't even respect you between
me and you
you gotta look for another place to work
because this is who you
are you should never change who you are
for the job you have
the job you have is an expression
