>> It happened right here.

>> I was here at the wedding Dr. [music]
Lightman's daughter got married right
over here. When I got to the top of the
staircase, I felt
woozy and I felt like I'm about to pass
out. And I just passed out.
That was it.
I had a wedding actually in this very
hall and somebody started shouting that
they need help for a patient if there's
any medical providers nearby. So, I
turned around and we see a patient
[music] lying on the floor. I took one
look at him and I saw that he was
cyanotic. He was blue in the face and he
was not breathing.
We checked for a pulse. We were not able
to find one, which for us means the
heart has stopped and they are not alive
at this point. And there's a very small
window where you can try to reverse that
process. Essentially, bring that person
back to life.
>> [music]
>> We started CPR immediately. Myself and
one other member. Daniel Wolfson called
it in on his radio.
They automatically initiated a call with
an ambulance two paramedics. Dispatch
final 21 you have a bus and medics
heading.
>> [music]
>> Analyzing now. As we were doing CPR,
[music]
we started using a bag valve mask to
deliver oxygen to the patient. We turned
on a defibrillator and as we turned it
on, we realized the patient had just
started moving.
Paramedics came, the ambulance got there
with stretcher.
I arrived on scene together with Shimmy
Caner. [music]
>> [music]
>> We performed a in-depth 12 lead EKG
which shows many different angles of the
heart.
>> [music]
>> We started IVs, we gave medications.
It was very clear to us that this was a
very critical serious case [music] that
needed rapid transport to a hospital
that could handle such a situation.
>> [music]
>> We got the patient onto the ambulance,
further stabilized him and secured him
to be able [music] to transport him to
the local emergency room for further
treatment. We got the patient into the
trauma resource area at South Nassau
where the patient got a full workup and
ultimately got definitive cardiac care
done to correct this so this does not
happen again.
I've seen Hatzalah at work already for
the last 40 years. You know, it's not
like it's a new thing. But I never
thought I would need it. I think it's
important to realize that, you know, at
any given time you may need them
yourself.
And therefore the more strength you give
them, the more help you give them, you
may be helping yourself out. Hatzalah's
here for the community [music] 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
They don't ask you who your shul [music]
is, they don't ask you who your rav is,
what your political affiliation is.
There's one number that everybody knows
to call, and that's Hatzalah. Anytime,
any place, if there's a need of
Hatzalah, we will always be there for
you.
