[Music] okay as far as water safety we'll be talking about pools bathtubs you have a child in a bathtub the phone rings you step away for 10 seconds it could be life or death summertime is a time that we all look forward to the sun is shining the weather's gorgeous and we all get that urge and desire to jump into a nice refreshing pool pool safety is very very important we have family gatherings it's very very important that all eyes are on the pool at all times the key is really supervision and that's what it all boils down to we should have a designated parent that's watching at all times they don't have a phone they don't have any other distraction all they're focused on is that body of water and making sure that it's safe it's very easy to get distracted while sitting by the pool talking to your friends eating drinking cell phone rings you pick it up you're texting you're looking down you're not focused and then you all of a sudden you look up and god forbid you see your two-year-old floating in the pool that fence should be locked at all times there's different sensors that you could have installed if the fence is opened you're notified it's very important that you either hire a lifeguard or you designate someone whose specific job is to focus on the pool and on the pool only if you're having a gathering it's very important that you have a lifeguard lifeguard is i can't even tell you how many lives have been saved because a lifeguard is there more than having life cars there there are adequate amount of lifeguards for each session of the kids in the pool i think we've all seen over the years large pools with 150 kids in there and one or two lifeguards lifeguards can be watching the pool we've all seen unfortunately lifeguards on their phones reading a book not paying full attention what's interesting comes to mind many times going to water parks not in the jewish circles and you'll see the lifeguards as young as they are 17 18 19 scanning the pool with their eyes going around and going around and every time i watch it i'm mesmerized to see how they take their jobs so seriously i think it's something we can all learn from having our lifeguards in our issue camps and bungalows we also want to suggest that every single pool have a sign with hasalah's phone number and exactly where you are the address that poster will be available to every single homeowner that requests one it absolutely will help save time because very often you'll be in someone's home and you may not know the address it's very important that we educate our children on swimming and until they're educated they need to wear a floaty of some kind we have to be very careful that we watch our children and we put safety measures in place to make sure that our children are safe by the pool
