Grand Opening of Ocean County 911 Communications Center in Toms River

but more than the big storms and the major events it is the day-to-day work that is handled here that really makes a difference from the call that comes in from a family member concerned a loved one is having a heart attack and just this morning I was walking through the call center and that was one of the calls the call taker was taken just minutes ago to a missing child to the smell of smoke the list of emergency calls is a very long one when they when I get a call with the lifethreatening situations things that you can't learn in a classroom that you can't learn by discussions that takes place when you pick up that phone and is a life that could be saved and what we're doing today is not only re saing lives but we're letting everyone know that we value the work that you do today in this room because we have a a system in here that has never been used before probably in most places in in the United States but we have it in Ocean County because we know that under the leadership of Freeholder Kelly that we want to do the best of the best to show where our priorities are to expand our facility so that we can service not only the citizens of of the Ocean County but also all of the volunteer organizations that work so closely with us and we're very proud of every one of them and every proud of every police agency fire department first aid EMT and all the other volunteers that come together every time there's an emergency and the Communication Center reaches out for the people of Ocean County so that we can protect the so that we can serve and so that we can uh take care of any emergency that comes along okay everybody ready one did okay we're officially open thank you all Donna who's conducting theour anybody want TR
