From Pharaoh to Maduro - Torah Lessons on Confronting Evil with Rabbi Jay Yaacov Schwartz

It's so wonderful to be with you today, a day in which there's a lot of surprising things going on in the world which require um our living with the Torah, which means we have to look at the l always we can only look through the lens of the Torah at all our goings on. That's where Hashem gives us messages and perspectives on how to view the the events that are swirling around us. Now I had a thought because as we enter parha schmos and we're going to talk a little bit about that today the two main events that happened uh I would say one is of course the capture of Maduro the the leader of Venezuela the richest country in terms of oil reserves in the entire world from who has been blockaded by the United States and also the um uprising in Iran in Paras in Iran and what's going on what's going on in our world here we are in Tavis it's a very interesting thing to note and we spoke about this last year is that Tavis is not a man which is Msugal for Israel it is a day it is a month in which we have a fast day that kazal say that theoretically If it fell on Shabas, you'd have to fast on Shabas as if it were Yamiper, but not out of purification and holiness like angels, but out of bitterness and uh and autabas. It's so out there. How can can this be attacked in reverse? Is it seeing its peak and then it will be destroyed? Kind of like Maduro where the evil h evil always has to grow before it before it is dealt with. That's what happened to Hammon. Hammon was king of the world but only for 70 days. If there's a criminal that is a threat to the United States of America, the United States of America has a law in its constitution called article 51 that the president is allowed to act on these threats and he's empowered to do so as commander-in-chief. There's nothing there's nothing illegal about it. And yet people are saying this nonsense, this dril, that this was illegal, this was not good to defend whom? One of the greatest um scoundrels on the planet, who had access to 300 billion barrels of oil, which is the most reserves in the entire world, and were in the possession of a very, very evil individual. So you want So now he's going to be brought on trial and he's going to be brought on trial in New York City and they're going to speak the truth PTO and he's going to be indicted. They didn't just kill him like Osama bin Laden. There are those that you have to just kill. And then there are those that you have to speak PTO and put them through the trial and and hear the words and get the reality straight and understand the crimes and so on. So this is the uh this is the uh the different approaches that had uh of um lived lived and died a hero. The Romans honored him. The Romans treasured him.
