everybody knows that the fifth of the
ten commandments is to honor one's
parents and there are only two places in
the Torah where it tells us that if we
follow the mitzvot we will earn long
life and one of those two mitzvahs is
honoring one's father and one's mother
so I just want to share that for those
of us who are fortunate to have our
parents among the living it's a mitzvah
worth thinking about and accomplishing
to the best of our abilities and even if
your parents are not living in the same
city as you are we're so privileged to
have with technology today you have
Skype via FaceTime just picking up the
phone there are so many ways to make
them feel special and to really just be
grant and grateful and express gratitude
for just the fact that they brought us
into this world that is enough of a
reason to just pick up the phone and
wish them a great day have a great
Shabbat
