he was able to come up to Buffalo and the vacuum came from Toronto and the Simpson he had he pretty much made it remember correctly was able to see the bathroom simply had to see the bathroom was just amazing his um Health was not good everything was very difficult for him but coming here and being with the bachelor remember if I bring the Friday nights Shabbos morning he called the bathroom to come before davley to come to English then service afternoon he prevent till after Midas and he's from there he went to Seoul it's meant so much for him the love he had for every one of the bahren was just amazing to see later on Sunday was totally out Monday was very difficult but he was so happy that he was able to see the bathroom it's time to meet him after so long it's really it was it was such a um difficult thing to see the way he felt but the Sim he had to see the bathroom that was teaching about to see them be part of them was was just amazing it gave him so much higher see suddenly it picked him up the whole Shabbos was different Shabbos he was going for hours and hours it was just um amazing to see I mean smoke it's now for the last few hours I was speaking about even those Akiva Islam this is getting this is um is davening everything he did that fully there's not much you could add I mean it was in every single aspect obviously slowly had for he had my my own three kids all the three kids live in this house for a couple of years quite a few years because they went to Toronto to get and every time I thank you he said enough to thank me you know this was something that he believes he was so happy to do it's the attitudes it's sometimes a lot more than what you do obviously spokes a lot of people actually met him was here yeah he spent the sun you spent the summer over here at least one summer if I remember correctly but the people really love them over here in Buffalo I'm so obviously spoke um I'm picky office whatever speaks in sikha about um I believe me this person's actually is a um and yes they mean the same and they never asked the question what's it doing in techyavas what does it mean and that explains the the secret is the person it's just what you say it's not how much you do but it's the way you you say it's when you're ready to give yourself totally over somebody else that it's not mine it's all yours that's it is also somebody that gives gives money and helps others and gives everything but later on that episode he has to put in a a a statue as to say I gave it to you it was so much he was able to give himself away so much he didn't feel he did something he felt this is part of his life this is who he was it wasn't something he gave something belongs to him he helped someone else who did something special this who this is who he again to was telling me he was in the hospital and he was waiting to get chemo and they pushed things up off so he had some more time he found himself a room on the side and he gave him sheer towards the end this year when the woman came complaining was making too much noise he says to the bathroom he says she does she doesn't like what I'm saying she slugs me up she doesn't agree with what I said but it wasn't like he felt he did anything special he felt this is who he was he gave everything he had he's willing to give away and the people used to come I remember always in the house nice to be in Toronto there were always lines of of people coming to collect money he gave it you know people that many of us may have not have given he he was so happy to give it um said he did I usually speak family only because uh he would not allow us to get sad depressed and down only soon can only buy it someone asked me recently how did I feel when I was in Yeshiva so I said that I have a brother-in-law that's a campus there's no mask here it's up to the sleep to inspire the tummy them to come and be involved I said when we were in Yeshiva I don't really remember I mean there was a mashiach I think that there was a someone that was marking because a marker but it wasn't but there was no way of the typical that you think about and I was push it we were on fire but playing and also those days when we were in Yeshiva there was no such thing as say they're starting later I don't know if now they've adjusted we could probably until six say there was 7 30. why because and that's what it was there was no moving to say there so there were nights and days and there was no real enforcement but the other the energy just slept us all in so on campus you have what they call a fraternity which is the place where the students live but it's not just the dormitories it was in a dormitory and a fraternity in a fraternity they're known as brothers the people are connected forever they have their own men hug him it's a culture you can sleep in a dorm where you're at or you could sleep in a fraternity where you become brothers so Robbie Wagner was the campus Leah so then the dorm wasn't the dormitory it definitely didn't have a standard of a dome I slept on the floor of the kitchen apartment you know it definitely wasn't a dormitory but it definitely was a fraternity that made us all Brothers so and not just us but really the idea of a fraternity today is that anyone that's in the fraternity 50 years later feels a special Brotherhood to those that are in that fraternity today the Jewish fraternity is AE pie people will get jobs with the guy that was 50 years ago in aepi because there's a certain Brotherhood so there's a certain language a certain culture maybe even certain codes I don't know so really when I hear that there was a book of The Learning in Toronto it could be 20 years younger than me I feel a certain Brotherhood but to this book we we shared we we're in the same house with the same culture we share the same the same ideas and we got yelled at the same there's a certain culture that bonds us all together so one of my dear brothers that we entered the fraternity together is going to start the open mic for him we're going to ask all the alumni to fabrina is a quite quite an accomplished young man you know his serum I heard all over the world recently I was driving home and I hear his voice in the back of my car because my son was learning rambam I said oh it's like a nightmare he's coming he's coming he's coming for me from the back of my car it's a tremendous tremendous to ask Northern California one of the boygreen and one of the original class who joined the year Shana sneer like I did in Yeshiva in Toronto the police for playing abyss and with this we finished the formal program and we entered the open mic but Robert foreign um it said that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care and that's of course true in life in general and especially true and the people that you're referring to are 16 to 19 year old buffer yes Rabbi Wagner was a true Renaissance Man a dynamic Wellspring of enigma Mercedes and the depths of ishiram really stimulated our young minds impressionably so I actually personally go back and glance at my notes every once in a while of the Christ some of the hottest of those years but I I know I speak for myself and and for all the time and and each one will express it in their own way the Gateway through which his third and his worldview penetrated my mind and my heart was this his masterous dedication because once you know that he cared that you cared about what he knew and to put it simply he had a push and obviously so yes young will Raleigh Resnick felt that his then 28 year old Russia honestly cared about her and that signature remained seared on my life because of that so I'd like to share an Insight from Arusha Shiva actually saw it was uh now printed in the uh book that they just put out after Shiva a collection of artists on rabi akiva's secret if you will that he wrote how to become an oil Israel now during the yeshiva's first year at Edinburgh I'll be Wagner's father passed away a young age and at the first yard site uh the Yeshiva had only months earlier moved into the bank Loop me where it stands now on Lawrence and Bathurst when we first arrived our first day they were still fresh deposit slips there the teller stations were all there they were being demolished and together on the first yard set of Rabbi Wagner's father with a very memorable and the inauguration of the yeshiva's library the Yeshiva published a clevis artist dedicated to the memory of Rabbi Wagner's father s was actually dated Wagner's father's yard side is Dallas and by the way when I say the Yeshiva publisher I mean a few others and Rabbi Wagner sitting with his two fingers at his computer uh typing his contributions and at that time when we were in Yeshiva that episode were first being published and that was the talk among everybody was studying and we all know para climate-based Tanya the paragraph Israel opens with the words now in other words about to teach how are you should love a fellow youth and we do that by mastering varim hanao the previously mentioned ideas now what are those what are they referred to and in the rapist notations he comments with two words he had written about this notation of the devil and he said that the payment the prophet the process you have to be fulfilling the procure before the empirical tests talk all about the lowly state of our body our shortcomings not living up to my potential and then paraglam and Olive Tales tells us that we Although our bodies and our material gives us a mindset into Russia and it gives us all food for a thought at this auspicious time his care his love for us his devotion for all of us it was predicated on based on the average of really working on himself to see the truth of life to call the bluff of this world the bluff of clipper to see the MS because when you see that when we all see that then we can truly have a love now many of us are in the business if you will of being influencers in some shape or form or capacity all of us are and if all of us can have a little bit of this can have a little bit of this perspective that we can really absorbit a little bit of our Russia's perspective on life just want to conclude you know uh my dear dear Rabbi Gershon we all actually got together a few months ago um for the 2015 you know in Chabad we don't usually have high school or college reunions but we had one which was very special people for Lynn from Ohio from California from Florida from around the country and where the first class Yeshiva we got together and uh I just want to conclude my my last exchange with Robbie Wagner I was in New York a few months ago for the Kennesaw and hours before the banquet I had disclosed to pay him you know a private visit in that front room that many that he spent so many hours in to visit our treasure and uh actually the European are our man you have an act of writing a very prevalent and perhaps even borderline controversial pieces usually in the realm of the generates very healthy conversations and discussions and lavage and just to say the days before the Guinness you had written a piece about whether or not we should continue raising with the expectation that they'll be appointed to slaughter him or not and somehow my conversation with Rabbi Wagner uh sort of turned to the topic of your uh of your talk and what was so beautiful was so beautiful and this I'll conclude because I know there's so many people who want to share what's so beautiful was his knee-jerk and instinctive reaction his instinctive reaction he really almost didn't understand why we're talking about there's a purpose for learning there's a perp no no no no learns because he's supposed to connect to the abstract what's going to happen how is going to develop it will develop into a foreign foreign and the last one there I just was listening to last night at the end of paradolot and he talks Rabbi Wagner sick at the time talking about the value being in this world in fact every week that's actually out to them but discusses that in great length this is one of the source in this parisha so may our favorite this world bring an amazing and to the availability to the family you don't need us to tell you who Rabbi wagon was but I hope you take some knowing that he lives on in all of us and all of us Hashem will continue to do children so that we can bring back thank you it'll be so late and uh we have to continue for blending and now again I want to ask everybody this is something I know it's coming out of your ears but that's to go from ears to action is we really really really have to encourage people to help and participate if for the mishpocha at rayston.com every arms and then sure gimbal I was able to go to his system um and then from that point um yeah we had we had a great connection I'll just share one thing which is that a lot of people it's amazing that I think 90 of the people that are on this call probably appreciate Robbie Wagner for like 30 of of the person that he was I think there's very few people that could really appreciate him for like I said earlier the intellectual genius and and his other uh his you know philosophical and and so just knowledge qualities there's probably very few people that are even intelligent enough to be able to know how amazing it was from that point that's definitely not me but something that I found astounding we spent hours back and forth I used to try to make them breakfast they I used to I used to make them coffee and try to get them off you know from 13 sugars from having uh you know a little a little coffee and his sugar to try to make it 50 50. and I was definitely by no means I I wrote this already because it's something that that kind of stood out in my mind I was by no means the uh the best or even a good buffer showing up on time to see this or any of that and I think he realized about me that I did very well with with responsibility and um while I was in sheer Olive Zell he um there was two kids that were coming in younger like they were going this year off and stuffed up and and their parents asked for every Wagner they didn't really fit anywhere in different systems in town so their parents asked for Wagner to make a specific class for them so Rabbi Berkowitz taught them in the morning and Robbie Wagner tasked me with teaching in the afternoon so I was a Buckhorn Charles on yeshiva's payroll um and in the mo and and not a good buffer at that but I took it very serious and in the afternoon I was teaching them and I remember this one time where he called me to his office and he was giving it to me over the head for just being me and not showing up in the morning and slacking off in general and I was playing I was reciprocating a kind I was I was I was responding you know with excuses and and um and he suddenly like flipped the switch and went from like the disciplinarian and just completely changed course and we all of a sudden next thing I knew we were having a PTA meeting we were discussing these two buffers where they're holding what the tests are and what I'm teaching them and the sovietas and the other and that immediately was you know reflected a change Within Me um where I was you know all of a sudden I became now I'm we're having a conversation where I have responsibility so I immediately reciprocated in kind and you know through um my years later in Yeshiva there's a lot of a lot of uh people in hinoff that unfortunately it's a default job and such they get there they're not that emotionally intelligent necessarily so they get wrapped up very quickly in in um in in their in their educating um and he like Robbie wagon he never got himself wrapped up he was always just trying to do whatever was most effective for the buffer and if if being a disciplinarian was effective and great and if not he was able to completely flip on a dime and move on to to a kind of a different thing so that's some that's something that always astounded me about Ruby Wagner even later when I was thinking of doing different things he was having conversations with me on the phone I was thinking of leaving aletara and doing various things and he was talking to me like what my what I wanted to do in general that I can't want to have an impact on the world and and talking through things that in retrospect there was no reason for him to have a serious conversation with a 19 year old you know that was something that that uh there was one one specific episode that really stands out in my mind um we're seeing a couple more cameras come on once again hit the uh hit the link speaking of going to Remy wagons with one of the very special uh staff that were there that year was um zemel of a tansky who's uh here on this call so without further Ado uh Zeno a few words please yeah you're putting me on the spot man though but it's okay I am um so I actually ended up in Toronto the first time as a buffer I landed there Zion over Wagner was very strict on having guys showing up with a shadow but I didn't have Yeshiva to go to which was another story um so I ended up the Zion they didn't have room for me in the Yeshiva and for the first three months I ended up in uh Mendel plotkin's house and then they rearranged the whole I don't know who was saying before with the girl she asked and he was sleeping on the floor of the kitchen um that's basically where I ended up they put a bed somewhere in a a hole and uh I ended up there and yeah that was how I ended up in Toronto I ended up coming back to Toronto sometime later as a um as a dorm counselor and I had a lot of interactions with Rabbi Wagner some of them which were quite tense because Robert Wagner was telling me there was things that I needed to do that I felt weren't in my contract um the contract didn't exist but my contract was to be a dorm counselor and then I ended up being a maggot sheer and the schlier and a lot of other roles and the uh slapping bathroom to the doctor and anyways so at one point I remember I said I can't do this anymore and you know I didn't sign up for this this is my job I'm just gonna put them to sleep and wake them up and that's it and Robert Wagner looked at me he says what do you mean you have to make the bathroom happy that was part of the description I said yeah it's true it says new make them happy Means make sure they they go to the doctor make sure if they're sick you bring them food to the dorm make sure that if they're bored that there's a mystery for them to do make sure make sure make sure make sure it's all part of making sure that they're the baham are happy and then I took in the Carlos Wagner actually uh mental why is the recording stops it's okay I'm not offended um Wagner actually uh he lived there and just a touch back on on what uh gershy absent said when my father came to to Toronto I believe he was I don't know where he was coming from I think maybe he was going from Montreal back to California and he had a few hours stopover in Toronto and he if I recall correctly rolled into Yeshiva unannounced and if you call her a Wagner maybe knocked on his door I don't remember how he got him um Wagner went to the dorms himself and he knocked on all the doors and he woke up all the bathroom he slept them out to Yeshiva and they had if I bring him and there wasn't a lot of um there wasn't much for bison there wasn't a plan for bringing I guess Metro wasn't open then so they served um they served cake and the cake was uh I guess it left something to be desired it was a little hard maybe it was cake from that was barbangan and uh and they were serving the cake and after the fabregan or maybe he was at the Fairing and my father Wagner what is this how could it be that the bathroom you're giving the buff and this hard Kate they have to eat and uh Wagner was uh he said he's you know giving a little bit whatever to make if I bring a little exciting something to that degree but then sometime later he said he spoke he was speaking with my father about something else and um my father said I was with the cake you know did you get the normal cake and my wagon said you know I realized it wasn't just uh you know militia and jokes and whatever he was actually uh he actually cared he was actually very um and he I guess he made sure that there was good cake that was one of the things I actually did in Toronto won the extra the extra things I did was my mips ass and find out and but uh maybe it was close to that story yes now that you remember that um I just one other thing that really sticks out in my mind somebody mentioned this earlier um about Robert Wagner always having maybe it was on the chat or something but um always having a mimer to say and whatnot we went in sheer I want to say I was in Shir alef we went to Ontario to London Ontario sorry for uh when I was in Charles um now we went to London Ontario for a shabbaton the the the College had off and actually I've invited us to come it was sometime shortly after your trot because I remember one of the buffering that switched also mid-year that year the previous year and then when I went to Toronto Toronto didn't have a bet for him and he I came to iron flash when he came Utah um so he he had just rolled in and we went to London Ontario and we needed to go to Mikvah the problem was from the uh Chabad house on campus to by block show where the Mikvah was the 45 minute walk it was heavy snow your time and rubber Wagner service first shot we're gonna I'll go we're gonna go on a morning hike and we're gonna go to the Mikvah that's it 45 minutes each way through the snow and uh how are we gonna pass the time this is we're going to do hazard and uh instead of crossing a mimer I forget which one it was but I remember I had 12 uh 12 oysts and the reason I remember is because you got to always he went out through valve he said no somebody else continued by Zion I only got to evolved this morning come on there's nobody else nobody else learned this in my room nobody else could continue resign it doesn't make sense out of all the bathroom and Yeshiva nobody nobody can continue so it's just a certain their hair that he had she went the sheets the passions that I am what do you mean I I only got so loved but someone must have gone someone must have you know we gotta it's impossible that nobody has any any mimer in his back pocket just stamped to survive from the race the morning by Snow by rain his wife gave birth uh I remember that like today she gave birth at night and he was there that same same morning at Chabad gate giving us so you talk about dedication and love it's hard it's hard not to love um perhaps if after I finish if my fellow my cousin my first cousin from California maybe uh love to hear from him about Mandy Cohen who's a fellow in California would love to hear some words about it from my cousin Mendel Cohen but um talk about fundraising fundraising he wasn't the most uh fundraiser per Excellence but uh you gave to bakiva because because you loved him you loved him how could you not not when I want to want to give away Kiva I still have actually right next to me a pile of papers from whatever little money that I uh that I that I gathered together um for this year and and keep up the amazing work uh just I treasure these these words these these letters uh forever every time we we said Minnesota the emotion the emotion um was why uh why I was asked to speak but now that I have the mic I'm happy to share a few things about the Robbie Wagner so it's hard to imagine the the jolt that a 14 year old kid who grew up in Fahrenheit who comes to a regular Yeshiva um in Toronto you know you there's a few things that really stick out of me and I think these are really interesting things that I've been Wagner really gave to me as a young buck and they really stuck with me for the longest time when I came to Yeshiva I remember thinking that it was weird that you had buckram that had keys to rooms in the building yeah the one guy who was maybe in charge of the Spartan Library yet another guy who was in charge with the key to the storage and another guy who had a key to the tape library was in charge of the tape Library The Carter had Buckner who had like these jobs in the Yeshiva and I always thought as a blocker I thought wow that's such a weird thing like bunker mini places and I guess for the next three years I really experienced what it means to empower a Booker to really uh to take to take control is not the right word but to really to grow up and to become a mensch and take responsibility and to learn how to take initiative and to uh and to uh and to really contribute to really contribute back to the to Yeshiva in various ways in a meaningful way but to the extent after three years of spending the issue of three years in Toronto I remember I went to another Yeshiva afterwards and I came to the issue and I was wondering what's like where where all the keys and you know where's where's all the initiatives at the back room that the Buck Room would uh would take you know in Toronto Buckner book a library everything A to Z was Buckner Buckingham did everything nobody else that holoca nothing personal to anybody who's a manhole then but if you needed something you knew if you needed something to get done besides returning to Bobby Wagner bochum were the ones that that really ran the Yeshiva and I thought that was normal I thought that okay come to do you see if I thought okay this is normal of average and then you uh and then I went to another issue afterwards and I was wondering what happened to uh what happened to this business of bahram taking the lead what happened to this business of of Bakr I'm running the Yeshiva and it took me years to realize that this was really something which was unique to rather Wagner that he really gave the space without the locker room I gave them responsibilities allowed them to to really be a real partner really in the Yeshiva uh to the extent that even when he would he would give Shiro and he would he would he would type up his serum afterwards of course you always remember still type it was you know with his fingers there um but what he was when you when you would participate in this year you got your name into the sheer of course was such a such a big deal or such a big uh it was such a big school so it was like such a good feeling you came away with wow you're able to participate you know you understood what was going on you were able to contribute something after they casted you your name was was on the paper you know something on the on the paper and then every time Robert Wagner's computer was crashed and he'd freak out and they said oh my God I lost almost sure for the last three months and uh you you know the blocker would care about me almost as much as he did because we knew that for us we knew that our name was in the paper our name was in the computer and uh if you lost the shield if I've always gonna forget what we asked him this year so for us this really empowered us on such a tremendous way to really be to really grow personal people to be able to grow as people to be able to grow and see them and and I think for each of us really to become the people that we are today uh influenced by who he was then you know going back I want to kind of piggyback on something that was mentioned earlier of course the February so we had guests I think that there were two two guests you have to mention that there were two guests when they came to Yeshiva everything could stop and it would be a February the first thing is every time uh would come Yeshiva would come to an end and of course I'll be Wagner would would bring everyone whether it was 11 o'clock at night four in the afternoon it made no difference two three times that he came everyone showed up what was interesting was probably why I actually had his feet on the ground when somebody when the when the fabrina would start but if you make an announcement to be a fabrangian he wouldn't just send someone to the dorm to wake up the bathroom he would also give somebody a few hundred dollars I think it was truly died she gave money and he he gave truly the H uh 200 and he said it's really go by the go by the Verizon because again the February has to be supervising so he made sure on every front he made sure make sure to take care of every single side everything will be taken care of again maybe 200 didn't find the transcription that definitely didn't buy enough but just just that that appreciation of having his feet on the ground the knowing what was necessary showing that he cared showing that it was it was important showing that he was invested in it of course those were things that that lived that continued to live with us that responsibility making sure that you know we're taking care of the gases also for something that's needed there's something that I don't think anybody touched tonight and that is Robert Wagner's um I don't want to say specifics of what he said in this year I'm not going to repeat anything that he said I don't know if I remember any of it but just just a bit of a taste of what it meant to you know he had such a such a such a Gish Mark anytime one of the suggests that we were learning um had something from the red on it he had such a schmuck in it I could it comes to mind now a few different circuits where I can get the details of course but there are a few things that anytime it came up and I think it came out multiple times he would mentioned it every time and he would go into it and say last year we said this industry said this so first of all whenever we mentioned this I believe it's a condition and maybe in babakam also I don't remember but every time the sugu came off the few sickness and the Horizon and he will just go in and in it you just non-stop just keep on digging and digging and digging and at some point George okay let me move on let me see we we did this already you know we discussed this but for him when anything that had to me for that it was something that he would really dig and dig and dig a little deeper and dig a little bit more because there's a something in the harder we didn't address it something that we didn't we didn't fully we didn't fully touch on and of course when we learn the sickness especially now project into the circus and so many of us we don't have the sickness and we just make it through it and we don't yeah we don't give it the due diligence you don't really give it the amount of time that it really needs but to learn to ask a question and to to to not let go until you come up with a good answer that was something that really gave us a real good and then also there's another city of the studio so that also of course I mean these are things that he would just go Non-Stop and just dig and dig and dig and just not let go and and and it was just it just gave us such a such a such an enjoyment to learn the life of Torah and something we appreciate it so much of course um there's more there's more of course I mean uh someone just mentioned someone just message me privately you know and he had this whole shear and Purim uh you know and I remember asking Masters like you really paid attention to the Gamora like you know you really you read the Magilla every year and it gives me his wink his eyes and he says it was a smile and he's like what do you mean he says what else do you think I'm doing during the megillah you know imagine there's a mcgilla reading he's coming up on a question based on the gumar and Baba Khan or something in the middle doesn't make sense he just took it very seriously he just didn't let go you know you heard something he got something he it was just the the the the the the commitment to learning was so so intense one last thing I want to share which is something that I shared with with friends and um it's something that I personally have learned from him so much and I and and I and I try to do this myself when I learned also I'll never forget if you're sitting in Yeshiva it was the morning of 9 11 of course you couldn't forget 9 11 to where you were so we were sitting in Zao um we were sitting in Zao of course it was the end of it was uh for my first year in Zao beginning of touch year was the end of year before and of course uh half of the Yeshiva ran outside to go to go to anachment Pearl's car and to hear what was going on and to listen to the radio and to find out what was happening oh yeah happening not happening you could see you couldn't see and of course Robert Wagner comes down and he's looking around to his eyes and he's trying to figure out where all the blockers were so someone told by Wagner says 9 11 you know just going on and he sat down didn't take his eyes out of the Gilmore for two hours and I'll never forget just that that commitment and that refusal to be disturbed he posted sat down and he learned Kumar for two hours I think he was the only one in the South that day who learned but of course he took it so seriously he was so committed to show that example of what it means to sit and learn in a real way and posture to lose yourself in learning posture to forget about it doesn't exist or something that I'll never forget the scene and when I do shiram uh whenever I teach a gemara class I always tell people I was like listen the gamara class is starting I said put your phone away this is the way I was what you're supposed to learn yeah open a safer phone goes on the side you don't allow yourself to be disturbed whatsoever 45 minutes here and hours here but just that that Focus to be able to sit and learn and not allow yourself to be distracted is something that we it's something that I that I took from such a strong way of course it wasn't the only time I mean like that every day but that was it just it stuck out so much how unique it was that he was able to do that it's the image of that is literally is seared steered into my mind steered in my brain to be able to to visualize I'm sitting and learning in the dial there under the spiral staircase Etc the old real estate over there anyway so of course for us for us as tell me them for us to tell me them of course you know everyone we know that we don't we don't spay them um but one last thing I want to share for my Wagner and again this is so interesting Robert Wagner had a special hush and I hope uh whoever uh takes this recording afterwards and disseminate won't quote me on the Fly yeah didn't care about what other people said if he thought something was right he did it and he didn't care about anybody else so I remember I remember we had a fabrangian when it actually was actually the Shabbos this time of the year the Yeshiva from Detroit came to join us in the Shivan Toronto and uh the one I think which is the first and the second year of the Shabbos actress and the human Detroit came and the commandering from Detroit this image of the stick and you couldn't imagine there was a there was a yeah it was a there was a big um for some of us maybe we were there was a bit of a uh of an intimidation you know you can imagine the Detroit Buckingham are coming wow it's a big deal and there was a certainly level of intimidation and I remember how I was sitting there with uh with um with the family guy I think the Russians did that shot it's also if I'm not mistaken I have a chakra and I remember that a Wagner sat there by the footballing again and he used to say he said his piece I remember Harry afterwards literally went into him and you know with his style touch it you know gave it to him over the head in his style and I'll never forget that Wagner sad they laughed at him and he continued the punching to happen but he posted said what he thought was the right thing to say he said what he thought was important to say and he didn't care if somebody else sitting next to him would laugh at him in his face he partially didn't care he possibly the right thing to do and that's what he did I remember when Wagner came out with his lips about the uh she also come on and actually answer thinking to myself you know if you think like a typical Swedish uh language so another constitutional language they have Covenant where are you supposed to have cavana in the morning of Dominic where is the kavan of Daphne I mean these are the you know these are the uh these are the uh the the the classical areas of cavana we're always supposed to have cavan and Daphne you know like of course it's just like a weird thing and I remember thinking to myself it's a weird thing I'm sorry it doesn't sound like a finisher thing it sounds weird to me on day one doesn't care doesn't care about what you think doesn't care about what anybody else thinks he posted new this is an important thing for him it's an important thing that's it he spoke about it didn't care about what other people thought when it came to this scene and what he thought was right so hopefully us as his family then we should have that good in the actors of our lives in our hands when people from other crimes would come to Yeshiva he would speak openly back to this he he had to get a special skill in person so we as is confidently of course we have to learn from that like to be proud of ourselves we have nothing to be embarrassed of we're still over there we have everything everything hi beautiful dude you can't just speak for five minutes then not say hi I'm pretty sure that's against the bylaws okay um speaking of uh someone that maybe could appreciate a little bit a little bit of of Robin Wagner's genius um we have a gentleman here today who's a who's an Alum that uh learned to throw a Wagner very very often and if I remember correctly even made a theme on shots while he was in zel yes Jaya yes um what was the next year the next year okay for the purposes of this call was Wally zinzel and um shy zircon yeah just so you mentioned that and I finished shots I finished asked the next day I was in favor and uh Wagner came in made a whole symphon out of it and if I bring um I just had two thoughts I wanted to say about Rebel Wagner two things that really um I was thinking about past week I could disturb for a second when you're when your brother made a CMA shots in Toronto Robert Wagner made it his his uh business to go and make sure there was sushi continue yeah um one thing that I remember remember we all experience this is to the sky you know the fact that he gives shioram he was a Russian but the fact that he cooked in his kapata while he was saying um when we were in um we were in Buffalo for one year for one summer was saying before we were by him it was Tashan Ayan uh five seven seventy and he and his wife would would uh cook for us whatever three meals every day um sometimes they would bring the meals sometimes they cooked in the Chabad house um but it was it was uh it was at sear but it was also a very big Heritage because you felt that you know he really he really cared he really cared for the background every single thing had a problem yeah go on yes that year he was everything there was nobody else in Buffalo he was he was our driver he was 100 there was no other staff yeah only him and the 1520 buffer that's it it wasn't fifty dollars there was like 12 bucks but um yes he took us to Walmart in his car yeah I was gonna say another thing so Mary you mentioned that he said I'm going to the mixer in London I remember sitting in the back of that white big van and uh I was making a movement sugar asked him yeah so I started to see me Mr tipada you know word for word I'm like all right so it's going on and on and on I'm not even listening anymore that says pretty impressive anyway so the evening came was was my mission in the shower he was he was given everything and he did it without you know with complete Bittle he was as mayor Wagner said it wasn't typhus mocking that's one thing I remember from him expert we all experience them and we all experience with uh with Ruby Wagner and something that obviously you could take a lesson for that uh you know you have we have responsibilities to different young that we have try to be a little bit uh a little bit less yes just a little bit more Bittle I'll tell if it's smoking so much I also when he used to he used to used to try me with hazard class and as the uh you know man mentioned earlier that we used to end up in the shield knows that the fact that he had the previous artists and the mountains so it didn't matter to every Wagner because spent time he wrote something he thought about something whether it made sense but it didn't make sense he tried to make a little sense but uh he put him okay so it's just too much when it came to the Wagner to give you a staff of Art he did it the way you know he really really cared for the Baja and it was an end of uh small death of a meme the strong strong guard the human is Mercado foreign to me and uh yeah afterwards he always came back and uh yeah you know so we went with I was talking with somebody on Shabbos about someone mentions me I understand why we didn't he tried to tell someone off he tried to tell someone off loud hello so when he asked me that question I was thinking of Robert Wagner you've tongue somebody off it's only a hundred percent when you you feel like saying aloud because you're you're the cast but if you're doing good because you want the other person to hear then you're gonna do it low you want him to make that's number one guy the second thing for me personally I don't know about everybody because everybody is different level whatever but for me personally I was born after um another because I was born after you know I grew up after gamotamus and a lot of the uh my age and even a little bit older than me but we didn't really have much precises because even if you know much is done devastated and watched it up by February you know the videos it wasn't like you lived in 770 where in uh you know before gimbal tamils Robert Wagner was the link where the Wagner was a link for me and the science that he had came from the labra and the highest that he had was the link between us between me and the rabbi I'm talking to myself I don't know about everybody else and that's uh something very very um I think very important because you know after after getting more tunnels but you know we live with Robert Wagner Wagner everything was about a lot of machine we talk about talk about yeah and the Wagner spoke about rabba that's all I have to say I am like a Wagner used to say that he that he went to Dr Goldberg who is the optometrist and Dr Goldberg told him that he has physician eyes because his right eye was Far Side and his left eye was nearsighted I remember I remember once upright you know he spit it out I went to the optometrist and my eyes are suicides and everything else but my eyes at least uh there's there's quite a cue we're gonna we're gonna try to uh we're gonna try to get through um Shalom Cass please hi everybody so obviously everybody has a lot of stories but there's there's one story that I want to share and the reason why I want to share it is because I mean I've left Toronto almost 20 years ago but every every day or multiple times a week for sure I relive this scene in my head because it replays itself um so everybody knows that Debbie Wagner had his moods sometimes he was in better mood sometimes he wasn't not in such great moves and it was during zero and the bathroom we were having a uh me and my roommates were having a disagreement on what kind of music we're allowed to listen to during zero yes music no if it's negunim could you hear instruments can you not hear instruments and uh I thought I would take it to every Wagner and asking what his opinion is like uh could we listen to um Chabad Classics during during Syria you know so I asked him and he wasn't in such a good mood I don't know what was going on but he he looked at me and he said what do you mean since the destruction of the face of English you're not allowed to hear music ever Hoosier and you went on he went like a little tangent like who like who I mean I considered him I must be at the time so when he said that to me like all the all the blood went out of my face it was a middle it was the middle of gamara and Eon and I went back to myself and I I put my head down on the table I just started crying I was so broken like I didn't know what to do I just I would just started crying and he was like what's going on everything okay like like they thought like somebody in my family must have died or something um like a bunch of buffham started coming over to me like what's the matter um I don't know I just I just I kept my head down the table and I was just I was just lost it um a few minutes later I feel a tap on my shoulder I look up I see you everywhere and I said show them I'm sorry for what I said um turned around he went back into his office and it took me a few minutes to get back to myself but like the two things that I take out from the story and I haven't with my children all the time you know you think you always have to be right you know the children are always wrong sometimes it's okay to be wrong and you have to be humble enough to recognize sometimes you made a mistake and and to go on to make it right so like I have this with my children all the time I'll go to something we'll have a disagreement and it's another come out and say listen you know I was wrong and that's something that it's it's something which is only somebody who's has true greatness can recognize that and can actually do that because I went through a lot of different unhauls and throughout my years in YouTube and I've never had anybody an experience like that where I was told off and he came back later to to make it right so like I know one of somebody touched on it earlier but that's just a story which I felt I had to share so let the next person say a story yeah okay I I think I think another thing that you may not see because it's your own your own lens but I think that you took it so it affected you so greatly that he in your words you said that the fact that you realized that he asked you who's your master and you thought he was your must be and that kind of like wait where's the relationship and you obviously had such a such a good relationship with him and that that puncher broke you I don't think that's a that's a standard thing I was uh I was writing back from on Monday to for on Monday afternoon to um Jacquard Heights from from the aisle with with labeled Salen and he said a very a very interesting point he said that you know back in the day people want to go to yeshivas for the Yeshiva they were going to characters if you weren't going to bermois because it's in France you were going to the cinema of and you weren't going to crack and he said it seems like Robbie Wagner may have been uh with all due respect to all the current people but Robbie Wagner no one went to Toronto for Toronto most people besides from of science didn't know that there were any blocks in Toronto past bathrooms and alarms and then and and the dorms um they were going to Robbie Wagner and he had he was a character and and and a personality that people were going for and building that relationship and we know time and time again all these stories between that and the birthday cakes and and the way that that they took care and it wasn't just Robbie Wagner the amount of sleep the amount of nights that he never made at home he went straight from for bring it to go to Jeremy Cohen's shear and all these things I just want to bring it back to really uh focusing on the family for a second you know every single second there will be Wagner outside of the nine to five um spent with us he was not spending with the family and there were years and years and years that they really gave up um time and precious time with their father and husband so it's it's on us to give back you know things some other things are coming to mind uh just one one point what tell Elaine mentioned and also um um circumvention as well about him always mentioning in his year so I thought Elaine says that mid is still very good that we asked the question wow I'm actually following along I'm following his share but the for some of us it was uh before that we asked I already made it into again you know people that they're a Reiner uh wrote up and later you saw you saw your name and you and this year you almost didn't recognize that this was the Shiloh this was the board the answer that you gave in the share but he definitely made uh made us feel good that um that we have our name in there even if it wasn't the mom is exactly what the what we attended he was 10 steps ahead of us but he definitely took it and uh together um it was mentioned about uh coming to Yeshiva and seeing how the bottom were very much involved with the keys Etc so I had a little bit of a different experience being from Toronto and even though I'm a lot I'm younger than the first age and those who were there for the first year and uh we had mishimar and we had uh you know we were very much involved potato when they moved into the bank the new building we were all there as children and growing up I didn't know any other Russia all right that I knew was Sarah Wagner obviously didn't know him very well until I got into YouTube myself but uh but that was the tear that's what that's our that's what roshishiva is so uh just talking about his even given kites which we all know we've all been to the Yeshiva we all know but sometimes we take for granted when this is just what we're what we're used to someone to be in Yeshiva Shiva to be there for 7 30. he's already sitting there learning sit this for an hour and a half and he's dominant with dominion and he's there for say the and he's often there an afternoon state there and very often they're in the evening at night and every year with the packet of History again and the yeshivas call kulay Robert Wagner and then I'm in Toronto when I would see him every once in a while davening him it's a different shoulders it was like almost like Madonna Like what's happening Yeshiva is this is where he is his whole life is Yeshiva and I suspend the young child every second I used to be in Crown Heights and every night of the uh where was he was from begging for the bathroom he was no other he wasn't praying for other yeshivas for other anash for other Shoals at least in my days um every single night he was with the bar and like nothing else this was his Matthias and I was there for you know in Yeshiva itself for five years and then when I moved on to another Yeshiva you know it's a stroll which is a good YouTube for sure but I guess they uh like a regular Yeshiva where the Shiva the mashpia is different to this shows up at 11 o'clock he's there for two three hours he gives he gives a sheer and then that's all you you see him from him and then the game of the pocket uh they gave the pocket yeah they have their own life they have the Anastasia they have their own family they have their they have you know the Yeshiva something that they do but it's not their life but uh sound like every Wagner uh only after that that I realized his email this is um in the later years just to mention one thing I had a conversation with him this is already when uh when he was also taking charge of the goshamis of Yeshiva um and fundraising as well um the oil of fundraising was on him and um so now it wasn't just him accepting but it was also him speaking to the parents about tuition inside working out the tuition whatever people want scholarships people want discounts or whatever he has to work it out so I was Amendment Crown Heights once it was in this I think it was in the summer he was getting again maybe Gilman Thomas time he was preparing getting ready for the new the newsman and he was telling me that uh first of all he says that he can't say no to a family anyone who basically wants to come he said he had a very hard time saying uh saying you know but then like when he was talking about the tuition he was telling me that uh you know he the numbers have to work he hasn't hello he has a payroll he has overhead he has all the expenses of Yeshiva and he has a tuition based on that but people are asking for discounts people asking for Discount what can he do he can't get him on a discount because uh he can't teach you know he can't run Yeshiva that way but what he told me is I what I thought it was amazing and maybe I'm not involved in a yeshivas and Hollis and I don't know not yet I'm not paying tuition as a parent yet as a pan out of town Yeshiva or or high school but um to me it was a it was a kiddish and I think it was unique but maybe it's not to me it was uh I was very uh you know taken by it what he told me is that when he tells parents whatever the tuition is I can give you this break you know this amount of uh off I could give I can't give you more I can't give you more because uh I have to have you know yeah you have to try something for Yeshiva but what he would tell the parents is start paying whatever the you know the the payment plan based on this amount said but in the middle of the year I'm making a fundraiser a charity campaign whatever it is and based how much I raise if I raise an extra five thousand dollars I'll call you up and I'll tell you whether you have a bigger discount because I made more money I raise extra ten thousand I have more to me I mean I thought I was amazing a parent with already agreed for whatever it would have to agreed upon so either going to pay numbers on ten thousand dollars in the middle of the year he's going to call them a raise actually five thousand dollars so now you only have to pay five thousand dollars I think most an holiday members will say there are many other expenses I'm sure other yeshivas don't don't have extra money relying around if they raise extra five thousand dollars I'm sure if you go the payroll should go way easier and there's an overhead and there's you know Herman's Bakery probably has a uh surprise a bill whatever whatever the bills are I'm sure there's ways to use the extra two thousand dollars but to think about the parents and call them back throughout during the year and said listen I raised more money than I than I was hoping it's like this I could give you another uh I think it's a part of his his his his his mindset that he's cold Kool-Aid that the Buckner should be happy the parents should be happy that the the I mean that's his life it's not it's not for himself but just to make the Yeshiva run and and to we must be about a bit about him so that was a little part that I mean obviously we could go on and on but there are many here and um that should take the heart and we should be a little better the next day and um it really went a lot further what you're saying it wasn't just him hoping for for fundraising events um I don't know how much I could say or not but everyone knows that that personally Robert Wagner whenever he could he took he took the hit if he was able to financially um he put it on his shoulders nobody knows anyone that ever looked at the finances of Yeshiva had any idea how he how he covered how he just continued because it did not cover and I think that uh that the secret that people didn't take into account is that very often Robin wagon was not was was really taking the hit personally so um once again you know I know probably everyone that's on this call we have 108 people on this call everybody's uh for sure given and created pages but to make an extra Initiative for these kind of stories there's many of these kind of stories yes sir boshkin shared a similar story and um there's probably a very very high percentage of people on this on on this call that that personally benefited from rubber giving them discounts Etc so go reach out to 10 10 more people you know when people speak what people think people think that people are speaking for the crowd at least the speaker thinks that they're speaking for the crowd when people speak it's to make themselves feel good so it's not actually very important that you listen so mute the call and call 10 people and uh and bring some money in um I don't know if he's still on the call but uh there's a gentleman named copper Goldberg who uh had a shot of Glory by Wagner who wants to say a few words if you're still on the call then by all means we'll give you uh we'll give you a big that get apart in age so it's more like a he's like a friend a big brother as opposed to she you know so I I and I observed them different perspectives over the years I I worked for him for a year and uh right uh but Wayne mentioned earlier about the Shabbos with the Detroit candles a very colorful Shabbos that was a memory that was very um the Roche was there and regulari was very interesting but anyways I I and I spent the summer with him um lived in his house uh Toronto there and we weren't together um somebody to me for the summer a couple days a week and go down to Hamilton um so I just observed them many different um situations and then perspectives and um he was a very very unique person uh on one hand you know when I was growing up in military there was uh the must be in where people like uh these were people from uh they seemed like a different planet you know they were like it was hard to relate to them um uh you know we of course we looked up to them tremendously but uh he was very uh he could talk to him already he wanted from the stock market the politics the Schmucker guy he was you know he was he was one of us uh and and he understood he wasn't like uh as much as he was a mafia then the way he you know the way he looked and didn't pay attention to the to his appearance or anything but but it wasn't that he was uh removed he understood that was it but it was like uh to paraphrase a term he was uh Marcus but it was uh he was dividowski wasn't gay so as he was um you know so it was a very uh different perspective somebody so it was someone that we can see as as really a role model for us how we can be as I said uh and you know it's also it's amazing I I saw somebody wrote this on on the WhatsApp I don't say I I thought he must have read my mind because Shabbos night I was I was thinking I couldn't sleep I you know I didn't have the WhatsApp to distract myself I was just thinking now it's incredible how one person usually hear somebody is going Enigma it's a masculine said it's somebody who's uh Southern uh everybody has their mind was but it's you never hear somebody that's that's Muslim and everything that's it's it's incredible I never saw him anything everything about him was 100 Psy is gayness was unbelievable English I mean if he would have been uh anything he put himself into he would have been number one he could have also been uh Captain of industry you would have gone into business it would have been a billionaire that is his talents are unbelievable values is his genius was just unbelievable incredible he's the most incredible genius I've ever encountered in my life uh and uh his his Charisma his uh his energies Boundless Energy it was just but but you know those are talents that that he had and that he but but the way he he used everything out to the utmost and every single poem and every area and every it's just it's mind-boggling so the conclusion I came to is that it's not you know if somebody puts himself into one thing so he'll be channeled in that thing it'll be a great uh it'll be uh but uh by reciva it was his he he was his cautious was such that he had no desire no nothing of his own that's it so whatever you know whatever the devil wants that's what that's what he wanted so whether it was so this 7 30 in the morning um whatever it was getting stuck unbelievably helping him and you know being in his house I saw you know what isn't he sure he was on he was performing he was he was uh you know you have to have this uh character usually but then he would come home and you see his his own helmet he would sit down at first he would sit with his children and he would uh be with his family and then um after you know 11 12 at night he would put his feet up on the couch take a pillow perched under his chin and then take a safe if he had calf he would sit over commodity but some days he was so exhausted you could see he was barely keeping his eyes awake he would hold his eyes open she would take a pillow and purchase safer on it and start to start wording and save her and he could you know three four hours later he was still sitting there with the safer that's that that was his happy place that's it was something he probably sit and win 24 7 and but he knew that he had his and he had his Focus was to make the bahren experience not just here in in uh and we're in Florida but the experience that the Amazon uh everybody that he came in contact with um and uh uh is this cautious I think that's what gave him the the that's what that's why that's what really stood out more than everything else was just a pact the crowd was done he was so even again but that whatever it took and you know somebody mentioned before is sometimes he wasn't in the best moods you know and and Yeshiva and everything but he had he foreign you know and I'll talk to him about it then he didn't always have an easy time with it you know and he really worked on it and he was so dedicated that whatever it took whatever it was he would come to Yeshiva and he would simcha and foreign from height and a little bit and um what can I say talking about the family everybody's talking about everybody could donate as much as they can I saw so in the time in in the last couple years how I suppose we spoke a few times about the different uh treatment options he had his only concern was his family what is how his family would uh would you know even if one treatment might be easier on him but house family would feel about it how they would how would it affect them everything was about his family and and and of course he still made them this time was also's family so so whatever we could do for his immediate family that gave so much to allow him to uh to be able to be perfect that we all no one loved we can all do our very best and I think also if we can uh the exactly in the state of so many children now just about it's unbelievable that they were able to put together in just one week this campus that came out tonight it's incredible uh even though these are all things that were published previously but to put it all together and publish it in the canvas it's a tremendous amount of work and foreign and uh very soon my kids there we go I mean thank you okay um raisethonn.com if you want to take a little bit of action on anything that Ellie said um ladies and gentlemen summer design summer class I felt before the best years in Toronto best years of my life probably many of you felt your years in Veronica were the best but uh that's the way it should be um so many memories um I just were share one or two that you know jumps out I remember it was one Mata shot this and we're all in Yeshiva and it was a beautiful tabrina in Shabbos many hours and what just came out was the early years one of the early years that we get one what what volume of you know people speaking about the rep is life in the earlier and they were showing it in zal and I remember we all sat down to watch it remember if it was in front of the slow home office and the wagon was there also and we're all watching the video and I turned around and I remember I was shot I saw Robert Wagner fell asleep on the table Mama fell asleep and I was so impressed because until then I thought he was Kim he never never and I sleep what sleepy little learning and learning in the morning and night they didn't all be shy at the fall asleep in the middle of something he didn't know it's a possibility all right imagine every bullet ever someone fall asleep learning the law or a minor it never happened but uh if you hear old man talking about you know some story that happened years ago it was supposed to say a whole lot about coming around during the video but then I realized that you know what he's a regular uh he's a regular person like me and you but he just pushed it the works on himself you know my whole uh perception changed and had much more respect um I remember that I remember a few uh one I don't ask why we're up at 12 30 1am now we're going home to the dormitory and we passed by his house the address is 26 front connect if I remember correctly correct Nick are wrong and we saw one light on the room sorry one light of the house that was open so me and whoever was with me decided I don't know it's a nice thing I'm sure after 1am Rabbi Wagner would want mssarkin it's a very nice thing you know the Mitzvah myself from a beautiful opportunity who doesn't want to speak about him at 1am about Luna's work and we were uh I don't know some just like we thought the next thing so it all went up our hearts were beating and knocked on the door either we would you know throw us out or who knows what and you open the door I still remember such a smile 1am and he let us in and they said come come to his office and still remember his office on the right of the house there's a folding table there we had like 15 storm open Was preparing even here for the next day and you know people do this at 1am and that was that was that was normal you know preparing for us nuts and I mean giving us attention and just question making us uh feel special in the last few days I was thinking came to mind that young man I think it's a test specimen where whoever speaks about that you have an about all the other is no relationship to each other but when uh after each part of to do something it makes them too much teeth it makes them to a man to make them to a someone and remember Wagner to play all the titles you know but he push it gave us little pushers attention by bring in and like was mentioned earlier in this year as a question would quote him and you know writing the shirt I'll be push it made us little nobodies into uh into uh into a summer that's something I'm gonna you know and try to you know try to emulate this when you see you know encounter someone else anyone push it to give them attention and to smile and make them feel their I think we're gonna try to you know to continue that and and uh you know convey and give over that that feeling to others I remember when his mashed here at this time of year Rumble of Defense who passed away with Barbarian unbelievable covering and uh so many stories and so much you know love and respect yet the hizmosphere would just you know amazing to see it's someone so great throughout the Wagner and how much of my respect and admiration he had for uh for others and how much he was going to travel from others so again the time of time to Batman we all can give not just us but inquired others to give it's important and there's no reason why not they would say you ask if someone said no it's no but you have someone can give so uh we should all you know forward and ask to give them like I mentioned whatever we're gonna give us so much roughness it's now our time to give back the gosh Smith a little as long as we can do you know I was waiting we're all waiting for the grants that's what that was in the plan but I guess it delayed a bit but the tackle will still
