hey good day folks welcome back to our
fourth lesson beyond the seven live from
Jerusalem with rabbi Aaron David Poston
I'm so enjoying this class folks he is
taking the time to study to share
specific things that are generally
universal but beyond the seven and
things that we can learn as Binet
knoweth that we can integrate and I so
appreciate him taking the time to pull
all these sources discuss it with us
tell us all about it so we can
understand what is there and why it's
there and it just makes so much sense I
missed last week because I had things to
do but I'm so glad that rabbi is hanging
in there with us and I'm just gonna turn
it right over to him and let him share
what he's prepared because I'm
appreciating this now this is live from
Jerusalem so a rabbi posted how you
doing today your live you've got the
main screen how are you good Dan thank
you so much of who at oath to all of the
listeners wherever they are if they're
already in the Far East where they're in
Australia China Japan I don't know
wherever you are
Shavua Tov and if you're in Europe sugar
Tov and if you're in America it's not
yet it's not at the end of Shabbat so
should we wart off anyway
whoever you are maybe you're in Hawaii I
have no idea but welcome I really want
to welcome the listeners and I want to
thank you Dan for allowing me once again
this opportunity to share with your
audience and your listeners the world I
did would you say sorry I just want to
thank the Noahide world Center in
Jerusalem for allowing us to broadcast
on their station you know it means a lot
to me to be a bee work closely with them
I think they're just wonderful people I
think all of the nation Israel is but
the eyes are looking towards Jerusalem
and we're so glad that you sharing with
us okay thank you so I wanted to start
with an idea that came across through
one was a private message
in the same person posted on one of the
Noahide sites an interesting message I
want to share so one of the messages was
isn't what I'm talking about it's called
beyond seventh is that both ptosis in
other words one of the 613 commandments
is not to add to the Torah and I
responded no we're not talking about God
forbid we're not talking about adding to
the turtle I mentioned several times
this was already the fourth segment that
there are seven categories okay even
though we call them seven mitzvot as if
they were seven very distinct
Commandments it's not and I spoke about
this several times other speakers do as
well and whether they're thirty mitzvahs
whether they're 66 whether they're even
more it's seven categories now there's a
way to go and discuss the subcategories
in a way that is either we'll call it
either horizontal or vertical what do I
mean I was thinking making a graph to
make it easier but I'll say it like this
let's say you have the seven categories
so you have all these subcategories and
they equal like I said it could be 30
community six could be could be several
hundred that they are that would be
called vertical okay
you're not going horizontal and adding
anything you're looking deeply into what
it means to not worship idols right
there's so many details and categories
the one could implement in their life by
even though it's a heading of dog
worship idols but like we saw Nick in
the list that I gave earlier any of the
30 they were different it seemed like
subcategories of Nevada worshipping one
of the lists is dealing one of the seven
categories is setting up systems of
justice
so there's a whole justice system is
that some is each one in a different
Mitzvah like is it a it's a part of that
Mitzvah or is it distinctly maybe
horizontal
so I want to think it would like this
that they are vertical they get the
seven overreaching categories and you
have many subdivisions I think when you
talk about horizontal you're talking
about beyond the seven okay in a
different way so beyond the seven means
don't think they're just seven mitzvahs
there are many subcategories and that's
what I mean when I say beyond the set
there's so much more to being a
righteous Gentile in Noahide you don't
need to expand horizontally and start
wearing to fill in or start keeping sure
about like a Jew put those aside I'm
talking vertically keeping within the
seven overreaching categories there are
so many details and now I want to read
to you what this particular Saint same
individual who wrote to me personally
writes he feels that many of the rabbi's
to teach are not focusing on a lot of
the demian type obligations the things
to do with justice but rather they're
talking about prayer songs head-covering
Sabbath maybe what do you call those the
seer of some of the Kabbalah Mooser
Passover candles different spiritual
lessons dealing with Russian Hara and
Olam haba you know what I'm gonna
hopefully explain tonight why that is so
important but what he says what should
be done
he says I don't hear enough Noahide
leaders talking about laws of bribes
assault conflicts of interest cruelty to
animals
laws of the pursuer how to pay workers
paying wages on time rentals methods of
payments employers responsibilities
eviction emergencies driving and
liabilities during driving billing okay
on and on and on counterfeit issues and
I agree with him I agree with him a
hundred percent that most of the
teachers are focusing on loser and I'm
gonna tell you why it's so important to
about Wilson it's true that somebody
everyone's on a different level and
everyone's on the journey and they're
all in a different place I believe this
is what beyond the seven is really going
to be about what he spoke about you need
to discuss and go into those
subcategories deep I mentioned over and
over again
it's in percaya votes that a ignoramus
cannot be a hustle remember I mentioned
that one of the main things we're going
to be doing on this program is Missy a
lot you're sharing this is a book of
moosa and every yeshiva any achieve the
worth its weight has what they call a
moose or seder you could be learning
what's the word pill pool you can be
learning even you can be learning tom
booed six hours 10 hours a day in a very
detailed way or even in a running way
whether it's the cues trying to cover
ground or try to go deeper that's fine
and good but every achieve of worth its
weight has a moose or sailor and the
reason why the moose or sailor is so
important i could talk for days and
hours okay I'm gonna try not to I'm
gonna try to get to my point
it's the catalyst when we I can go
through so many verses that discuss the
idea and I have to find out so many
papers on my desk here this idea it's
the catalyst for proper to properly
serve Hashem right if you go to proverbs
1:7 first chapter in proverbs they set
the final sure please
[Music]
proverbs 1:7 the fear of the Lord is the
beginning of knowledge but the foolish
despise wisdom and discipline now we
have spoken about the difference or
maybe not even a difference but
I'll use the word difference for now
between the wise of the nations and the
pie and the receiving of the nation's
right I'll save in Hebrew Hoffner Oh
masala that's wise and the Hasib a
almost oh I'm the pious and it seemed
from what we read that the pious have a
much higher reward meaning they go to
Olam haba and the huff mail mow the the
wise don't get the reward in this world
but not in the next I know it could be
controversial because there is another
way to read it actually the same the
same person and shared with me and rough
cooks writings and I actually spoke to
somebody I'll just I do it as read my
dove Cutrone he's the grand
great-grandnephew of Roth cook and he he
told me was correct in this this
understanding of of cooked it seemed
like riff cooked was understanding the
Rambam in that particular Halawa that it
was a cow of the home it was even more
so that someone who amongst my own
soul around you don't even need to say
that he gets all my both Chrissy does
which is a totally different reading
than everything everyone else reads it
and but rabbi could drum explain to me
was this actually this person also
believes in God he did come to a
emotional or a metaphysical
understanding but he's more interested
in making sure that it makes sense and
that's why he is considered amongst the
wives of the nation's and he gets all my
macaroons are of good and it's a higher
level so based on that I just wanted to
say that there's a lot about Hoffman
that we have to know that the Hosmer
you'll come right it's it's it's the
ingredient you want to have the fear of
Hashem God wants you to fear him look at
Deuteronomy chapter 10 verse 12 I'd like
you to read that Deuteronomy 10 verse 12
and now Israel what does the Lord thy
God require of thee but to fear the Lord
thy
God to walk in all his ways and to love
him and to serve the Lord thy God with
all thy heart and with all thy soul now
this is a very interesting verse what
does God really want of humankind I know
it says Israel but it's human kind
because we just saw in proverbs and if
you go to chapter 111 in Psalms which
you really have to read the whole
chapter but it's the very last verse
it's not long but before we get to that
many and we just discussed this before
is is it permissible or praiseworthy for
North Heights to make blessings of
praise right I mentioned that when it
comes to a blessing over a mitzvah
that may be problematic because part of
the wording is God had commanded me
sanctified me and separated me and
commanded me so using those words when
you do a commandment may be problematic
but when you praise Hashem for the food
you eat for the clothes you wear for
whatever it is do you are feeling
grateful to a Shemp or so of course you
can pray as a sham so the word in what
they meant what does God require of you
even though you know that we have the
vowels right so the word man means in
what or with what does God require of
you then we said it's fear the word King
David had at the time he had counted the
Jews and it was a plague and he realized
it was an old tradition to say a hundred
blessings a day this is the source
he says been met what does God require
of you not what does the mayor man means
100 God wants you to praise Him God
wants you to make a hundred blessings a
day and this is the tradition we have
till today
so I'm emphasizing the idea of fear and
we've discussed this before there's
different levels of fear right fear of
punishment is a low level we're not
referring to that right then there's
love now the love could be the desire
for reward the desire for closeness and
therefore anything you do might prevent
that so that's also a lower level then
this next level I'm going to
about and that's called Rose where you
have this or you have this overwhelming
love that is you just wouldn't want to
hurt God you don't want to affect him
negatively and you want this deep
relationship this is going to be the
highest level and it only is gonna come
through knowledge it can only come
through wisdom okay so going back to
this originally original statement or if
cooked yes it's true that if you believe
and we discussed this in the the more
insane Hedren that when it spoke about
bilham rightly mentions that every Jew
is replaced in the world to come and it
mentioned I mean I have it here if I
want to refer to it but it basically
said that if you believe and I mean let
me you know what I like to always have
it try me about why you do it
while I'm looking it up would you remind
reading Psalms 111 and emphasize the lap
all right start it says hallelujah
I'll give thanks unto the Lord with my
whole heart and the counsel of the
upright and in the congregation the
works of the Lord are great sought out
all of them that have delight there in
his work is glory and majesty and his
righteousness endures forever
he has made a memorial for his wonderful
works the Lord is gracious and full of
compassion he has given food unto them
that fear him he will ever be mindful of
his covenant he has declared to his
people the power of his works and giving
them the heritage of the nation's the
works of his hands are truth and justice
all his precepts are sure they are
established for ever and ever they are
done in truth and uprightness he has
sent Redemption unto his people he has
commanded his covenant forever holy and
awful is his name the fear of the Lord
is the beginning of will I would I would
did my translation says awesome I
thought you said awful but ok the
translation I'm reading does say I'm
reading from me
mom raid org rage that's what holy and
awesome is his name
I know it said awful is his name buddy
thank you oh like oh okay I thought this
is the next verses is the most important
the fear of the Lord is the beginning of
wisdom a good understanding have all
they that do thereafter his praise
endures forever so it's not just talking
about choose a a non-jew should
understand in order to have this
ultimate wholehearted relationship with
Hashem to be upright you need to have
this or you need to have this fear and
so therefore it's very nice that we have
this list of the and this is what I want
people to learn they need to become wise
you want to become a huset you have to
have wisdom I mentioned already I'll
just refer to it as in chapter 2 of
perkier vault it's the sixth Mishnah he
used to say this is my Hillel an uncouth
person cannot be sin fearing nor can an
ignoramus be pious you know so knowing
that this is such an important catalyst
to reach the level that we all want to
get to
it begins with fear now you also have to
it's like it's like a it's a catch-22 I
know if that's the word you have to have
some knowledge to have the fear and you
have to at some feared as the catalyst
towards getting more knowledge okay so
having wisdom is going to be or wanting
to acquire wisdom is obviously going to
be very important but this I thought a
fear factor I'm if that's a proper but
this is going to be a terror the main
catalyst okay all right now the next
thing I wanted to discuss and I want to
reiterate this is from the nephews crime
I read this already in two previous
sheering it's very short but I think
it's important he writes in his notes on
chapter 4 in the first gateway that the
relationship of a Jew to a non Jew is
like that of the priest to a member of
the congregation he serves as per the
scriptural description of the Jewish
people who are a malefic Kohanim the
Kadosh a kingdom of priests and a holy
nation so it's really incumbent I mean
there's so many there's so much wisdom
in the tower it's unbelievable it's like
you a young kid is sitting and learning
in yeshiva he's learning baba metzia but
midsi a certain chapters dealing with
lost objects or found objects that were
obviously lost from its owner
do you have an obligation to return the
object and if yes how and when with
wisdom every of the tercius so full of
wisdom that if you I'm going to suggest
this to the non Jew you really want to
learn then learn listen to a class on
returning lost objects you will be
absolutely fascinated with the wisdom
the rabbi is going to discuss in the
Talmud how much of what type of article
was left behind was it left in a way
that was piled up or did it obviously
fall you know and then how to return it
right with wisdom you just put up a note
found a certain item you don't give that
much detail because the person has to
then give you the clues or give you the
'cimmanon
give you the signs because you just
because someone comes to oh you found
money oh it's mine you know how much was
it what kind of envelope was in it what
color envelope was in or was to you know
you don't have to tell them it's an
envelope how did you lose it what was it
in they might say well okay well it's
not yours because it was an envelope or
whatever so it's I that yes these ideas
are part of the subcategories of the
seven overreaching and you should
there's vast volumes okay
so the bridge the bridge shalom book is
unbelievable I have permission to quote
certain things so I'll just take a few
quotes in chapter 14 he quotes
deuteronomy 6:18 you should do what is
right and good in the eyes of the Lord
and in meetin in the how do you say in
English meet that same thing as six
eight he has told you O man what is good
and what the Lord requires of you only
to do justice and to love goodness and
to walk modesty with your God and the
first thing he quotes is the verse we
already quoted in Deuteronomy chapter 10
verse 12 what does the Lord your God ask
of you only to fear the Lord and walk in
all of his ways so what does it mean to
walk in all of his ways just as God is
merciful so - you should be merciful
just as he is charitable so you should
be charitable just as he closed the
naked so you should close the net clothe
the naked and the general principle is
that a person should perform all his
deeds and activities ethically and with
integrity in a matter of the electives
himself to the Creator walking in paths
that are good and straight and this is
very typical that we said that these
books or the study of Mooser is going to
be important because this is what will
motivate you to go and look at the
details right it's not just okay don't
steal so I don't steal
are you aware I'm talking to the
audience here are you aware that if
you're sitting at a table and there's a
pen there and you just pick up the pen
it doesn't belong to you and you use it
you're stealing that pen belongs to
somebody and I don't know how much it's
worth I really don't know how much that
drop of ink it's like it's almost in
that I mean there's no value it's like
nothing that it then Noah is really
obligated even on the smallest cent and
are a part of a 1 penny right for
stealing you know waking up your
roommate it's called steal
sleep it's problematic can't even return
it what about going into a store and
saying to the no this is really crazy
right sounds really nuts when I'm about
to tell you but this is Jewish law the
question is how does it apply to a non
Jew you go into a store and you have
absolutely no intention to buy and you
say to the guy who the salesperson yeah
I'd like to inquire about a certain item
and you spend the X amount of everything
there could be a minute after minute
could be two hours and then you say
thank you very much in you walk out so
you wasted his time it's called stealing
time it's actually worse than that your
neighbor said that's you actually had
his hopes up he really thought he had a
sale meanwhile he's not spending time
with a real customer now I'm not saying
people do this but I have a feeling that
let's say I was gonna open a similar
business I walk into the store and I
wanna I want all the answers I can get I
have to be honest I have to say look I'm
actually thinking about open your store
right and I have some questions when you
have time would you be interested in
helping me you're the guy says yes or no
how about you just you're just what's
the word you're just pricing things so
when you're going there you say oh I'm
just pricing at least he knows you may
not be buying I'm not gonna buy today
but I'm pricing things anything he's
gonna give you a good price or not a
good price but if you just walk in there
and start you know you wasting his time
with no with no intention to but I'm not
saying where you're in doubt with if the
guy wins you over and you have the money
and you know you're gonna buy it if it's
the right price I'm talking so these
these ideas this Ratish em every no
tonight who's you know on the right path
will understand but what motivates
someone to realize it's the fear of a
sham I'm either moving in the right
direction or in the wrong direction
rabbi I spent 25 years in the auto
industry in sales and management and all
I could say is yeah Saturdays there were
some years Saturdays I made more than
50% of my annual income just on the
Saturdays alone so you never took your
weekend off you were always there but
you didn't want to get stuck with that
person
that was there to waste time and I'm
just gonna give you one example I had a
real estate agent come in specifically
asking to drive test drive a near new
truck okay when I was a young man he
wanted to drive into your new truck and
so I tried my best to understand what he
wanted and of course in his mind I
couldn't go on the test drive with him
but he left me
you know his book is is keys to his
vehicle and all kinds of stuff the point
is I let him out at 9:30 in the morning
and the store closed at 6:00 p.m. that
day and he still hadn't returned wasn't
answering my phone calls
turns out he was using the truck to do
some renovations and long story short it
almost got me fired when I was a young
man but there was there was deceitful
intent and no intent to buy whatsoever
he was just being too cheap to even go
rent a truck and sadly that IIIi almost
lost my job but it was I felt the the
flat-out theft in the matter and I would
never ever ever do that to somebody else
but to hear you talk about that to me it
just gives me solace but I think there's
a big deep lesson that we all could
learn now one of the women thank you so
that's a great story it's right to the
point one of the things I mentioned
before is that even though we say there
are seven categories there is an opinion
and I think this is what we hope by
there any of the 613 commandments that
are logic based so that takes away all
the who came right Oh illogic but they
let's say they have no reason or they're
specifically for the Jew so those
mitzvahs those Commandments from God
that are beneficial for society that
people would have come to this
conclusion on their own a Noahide as
obligated okay so there's a tremendous
amount when you realize that you then
you will realize that there's a
tremendous amount to learn you have to
learn the Torah we discussed this before
is is what part of the Torah can a nor
Heidler so I came to the conclusion a
tremendous amount they can learn
so much of it is going to deal with
their obligations and we're gonna get to
that I'm going to review that part of
the grimoire again because I know the
Rambam quotes it but we're gonna
actually look at the Gomorrah that the
Rambam is basing it on so I just want to
take you now a little bit towards this
idea of how much important knowledge is
I want to go through three or four I
think I went through these before but I
think it's a Gordon Deuteronomy chapter
four verses six through eight right it's
talking about the way they see the Jews
behave you shall keep them and do them
for that is your wisdom and your
understanding in Hebrew hoosh Martin the
aceton he who hath not ten will be not
ten but it's what it's in the eyes of
the people the people must be able to
have seen it or perceive it and all who
hear these statutes what will they say
right Lena me my sure you should moon as
color cooky mihaylo the honor and
they're gonna say Rock I'm Holcomb
Verner von hugga hugga Dahl is that wow
what an incredible nation right a
reading Hebrew only this nation is a
wise and understanding people for what a
great nation is there that has God so
near to it that's the next verse key
Medes going God oh gosh LOL oki
microvilli love Hashem located with
kocher a know or love write that as the
Lord our God is at all times who call
upon him and now the last line of this
series and which great nation is it that
has just statutes and ordinances as this
entire Torah if he says clearly the non
Jew is acknowledging colva Torah look at
me bro cold hot or cold how do they know
how do they know that the entire Torah
I'll tell you how because they studied
enough of what makes sense they kept to
what they were supposed to learn about
all these Mishpatim all these Dini
all the missiles made other
arrow and they understood that if I can
understand this and this makes the most
sense and this is the most correct path
as we said missile T sharp the path of
will just then for sure all those
hooking which I don't understand and I'm
not obligated to understand I believe
these as well because there's no
obligation for them to learn beyond what
I discussed we're gonna bring the gun
more in a second no obligation doesn't
mean they can't we'll have to discuss
how ok so that's the first one I want to
show you
Zakaria chapters eight verses 22 to 23
many people's and all powerful nations
will come to entreat the Lord of Hosts
in Jerusalem and to pray before the Lord
so said the Lord of Hosts in those days
we don't know things are talking about
must be the end times but the end times
are high are here when 10 men of all the
languages of the nations shall take hold
of the garment of a Jewish man saying
let us go with you we have heard now in
Hebrew the word heard Shimano is not
literally literally and restricted to
just hearing it's understanding it's
part of acquiring wisdom is to
understand let us go with you for we
have heard that God is with you nail
cutting cam let us go with you in others
they want to attach themselves to the
Jewish people because they understood
that God is with them beautiful I had a
I'm not a good storyteller that's why I
like to read text a lot but I couldn't I
looked all over the internet and I know
I read it in a book I thought maybe
someone would quote it somewhere so I'm
gonna do the best I can
there's some journal that went to a guru
was living in some commune in India and
he really became like the top notch guy
he was like number two and he walked
with his guru or everywhere and the Guru
bent down and picked something up he's
picked up the lost object and the Jews
said would you why aren't you going to
return it he says no God gave it to me
that's it this
Jew realized there's something wrong
with the picture and he went back to
Jerusalem and he became religious I know
I didn't tell the story well cuz this
this always the German so you know with
when I was telling you that when a young
student young Jewish student is sitting
in Michigan he's learning this Bubba
Matt see about lost objects I mentioned
this already at the end it says why was
the Jewish people exiled from Jerusalem
why did we why was Jerusalem destroyed
because they only kept the Torah and it
was like all my friends were reading
this girl I mean isn't that we're
supposed to do know the actual storyline
goes that we were supposed to go beyond
the letter of the law after learning
this entire chapter about when to return
objects and when you don't have an
obligation to return the bottom line is
even if you're not obligated you would
still do it because that's the right
thing to do that's unbelievable and
that's the Hassid dude that's we're
talking about here as being a huset is
going beyond the letter law when i said
beyond 7 we're not talking about going
and the vertical and trying out all
these other misses within the 7 there
are so many things that you could do
what I would call beyond the letter of
the law so you know it's the right thing
to do and you have no obligation to do
it do it anyway now let me tell you this
may sound very harsh but one of the
rules are when it comes to returning
objects for a Jew
it depends who's in the neighborhood so
you find this lost object but it's a
mainly Gentile neighborhood so you have
either little or no obligation to return
an object but if it's a Jewish
neighborhood so again there's a lot of
variables you may have to return the
object the question is why why should it
be that when you're not in a Jewish
neighborhood the obligation is
diminished or it's less or not there at
all so basically what our commentators
tell us is that the Gentiles they don't
return objects
so they don't explain they don't expect
it to be returned if it's a non-jewish
neighborhood they assume that a non Jew
founded and if the non Jew found it it's
already no longer in that they believe
it's stolen the whole idea of needing to
return an object or not is if the
original owner still retains any hope of
ever retrieving it that's called
stealing if something was made
healthcare healthcare means we're not
talking about something with the sign of
the name and an address and a phone
number and something that could be used
to identify the object we're talking
about a regular object that everyone
else has right so basically what it
comes down to is that the Jew if it's a
Jewish neighborhood they would return it
and if it's a non-native Jewish it's a
non Jewish neighborhood the assumption
is and this may be wrong I could you
know but the rabbi's are probably not
wrong that there's no ownership over the
the Gentile item because as long as the
owner the original owner ever had any
hope of retrieving it then it's called
stealing but if it was made Heffner like
I have some books and I want to you know
what I do and I want to get rid of some
things I put it next to the garbage
collection agency and anybody knows they
will they walk by the garbage and they
see some clothes or some books that it's
refitting take yeah so this idea of
stealing means that you only feel
something that belongs to somebody if it
doesn't belong to anybody it's not close
feeling so since I mean it's really
crazy and maybe it's not true maybe our
world has changed so much that the
Jewish idea has penetrated the world vis
right to Shem is is that the goal that
even a non Jew should even if in a
non-jewish neighborhood if he loses an
object that he would still hope to get
it back because he knows that the people
who he lives with would return it so
that would be like the I it's the ideal
faith so yes that would be beyond the
letter of the law hopefully enough
Gentiles would come to this
understanding that an even if it's not
obligated to return it and it's not
stealing to keep
nevertheless it's the right thing to do
and that could change the whole girl
yeah well we see occasionally you know
people put up a lost poster let's say
like and they they lost a pet or or lost
a watch or something to them that they
honestly have the hopes of it getting
returned if they put up in in the
newspaper or you know social media today
I lost this if you're in the area please
if you find it you know so would
somebody have an obligation to at least
check the or would that be going beyond
the letter Olaf used to say you walk
down the street you found a watch
something you that actually has value
but there's no direct name on it would
you know I think there's loss I know
that police generally I'll carry a
lost-and-found for 30 days or something
like that if it's not claimed they'll
give it to the person that found it
there's some honor in that yeah I don't
know we'll have to go and deal with that
particular law individually but I just
gave you the general concepts okay so in
terms of going beyond the beyond the
letter of law as far as I know at this
moment yes for a non-jew to find
something in a non-jewish neighborhood
that I'm gonna call under script it
wasn't placed there it wasn't left there
intentionally it could have fallen the
assumption is that the person had lost
hope by the time he got home he realized
it had fallen there's no way I'm ever
gonna get it back
most likely there's no thievery involved
but the most appreciative thing the most
correct thing is to find a way to at
least return it figure wait to return it
whether it's putting up a sign it
depends what the value is it's very
valuable you maybe you'll spend a little
bit of money to put in an ad in a
newspaper right again that's called
going beyond the level you have no
obligation now what I want to do is to
read a story about rabbi Pincus vania
here because he is what the Masucci
shrine has based his entire thesis on
was this particular rabbis brighter than
the tonight statement it goes through
the ten different you know from
he roads from being careful with the
Mitzvahs all the way so Hesse dude and
prophecy and all that rule confession
ret raising the dead that was rabbi
Pincus been yet here so I just want to
remind people who he was and this is
Miss Illinois charm is basing it on that
I wanted to tell you about a story so
this is like I told you I'm not a good
Street but when I come across a good
story in in in the writing so then I I
would be happy to share it now I just
have to find it okay let's see what it
starts over here it talks about his PT
his piety repent go spend your saintly
saintly saintliness is legendary he
never ate food given to him by someone
else why do you think that is I would
have thought okay maybe he doesn't trust
their that kashrut maybe it's not kosher
no it says he was it was out of concern
that perhaps the person didn't have
enough food for himself where maybe he
didn't give it wholeheartedly right a
lot of people might give something
because they saw someone else give but
they didn't really want to give or maybe
the person really doesn't have enough so
out of piety he says no you keep it you
just denied it moreover from the day
that he matured intellectually somebody
soon that might be six seven years old
he didn't even benefit from his own
father's table okay now this is the
story I wanted to tell there were two
Parker's too not so wealthy people who
came to repentance Bay meters town to
seek sustenance meaning they went the
charity collecting and they had bags of
barley now the barley I assume was seed
that could then be planted so there were
two saw yeah that means a measurement
that could plant a certain amount in in
an acre anyway when they left the city
they forgot to take their barley with
them guess what they came back seven
years later and said I think we left our
barley here but what happened in the
meantime
this is it is
repenteth been year planted the barley
he harvested the crop he piled it he
stored it and continued to do so every
year after year after seven years the
men returned and asked for their barley
repentance responded ready for his
response it kind of like makes me want
to cry shed a tear because if you know
these people are in need it's Anakin he
knew it was theirs he could have just
returned the value of that barley the
truth is according to the letter of the
law he could have just say the barley
was worth $20 so seven years later he
could to give him $20 worth $20 he told
them to bring your camels and your
donkeys to take your barley and those
you left two bags but what I'm returning
to you is a truck these are the kinds of
things that I wanted that's exactly what
this particular person mentioned what
about justice
right beyond those are obviously there
are things that are obligatory and then
there's things that are beyond the
letter of the law this is an example of
going beyond the letter of the law okay
if there's a story about his donkey the
famous donkey of PIMCO's vignette here
okay let me try to see goes like this
this is what people said about this man
they don't say this about you and me Dan
or at least it'll say about me baby
maybe they'll say it about you they
talked about the scholars of earlier
generations so they said if the earlier
scholars were the sons of angels were
just the sons of men and if they were
the sons and men then we're like donkeys
and we're not even like the donkey of
Pincus venya here because he's not like
any other donkey so the Talmud tells us
what was so extraordinary about this
donkey that belonged to Pinto spending a
ceramic Pinkas many are servants one
gate once gave the bunk the donkey
barley they gave him barley he refused
to eat it the donkey refused to eat the
bar
they reported this to repent this been a
year and you know what he asked them did
you tithe the barley and ha ha ha you
don't need to tithe barley but you give
to your donkey but the the donkey of
pinkness been year was so holy
he wouldn't even eat you understand cuz
the donkey hung out with this guy he
hung out with his rabbi and it's only a
donkey anyway I don't need to tell you
anymore this gives you an idea of the
pity the the the cussing dude the going
beyond the letter of the law of such a
person
people from the nation's grabbing ahold
taking hold of the skirt of the hem of a
Jew and saying you know we will go with
you we've heard that God is with you if
a donkey could could in that story could
ascertain that you know being around
this this pin Hoss you know if it rubbed
off on him you know if people would just
you know grab ahold of the hem of a Jew
saying you know let us go with you I'm
confident that the righteousness that
the justice the mercy that it will rub
off and we'll make this world a better
place
wow what a story yeah Wow very nice
so here there's two more verses I want
to speak about you know I mentioned
these are ready but this is um something
we should never forget you should be on
the tip of our tongues especially for
Noah kites who are confronted by either
Christians or people who don't let's say
don't trust this seemingly new movement
this is not a new movement law but
Jeremy 6th Jeremiah of 1619 very famous
where the nation's basically realized
that they have been lied to right
Oh Lord who by
power my show you can read it Jeremy I'm
Jeremiah 1619 go ahead I would rather
have you read just turn my mic up back
up for the people 616 verse 19 Oh Lord
my strength and my stronghold and my
refuge in the day of affliction unto
thee shall the nation come from the ends
of the earth and shall say our fathers
have inherited nothing but lies vanity
and things wherein there is no profit
yes so anyway the word nation it's
nations it's in plural in Hebrew the
Goyang javo they obviously are the
nation's are going to come from the ends
of the earth so it's plural and they're
gonna say we basically been handed down
lies right this prophecy is not yet
happened in mass but there are
definitely individual two coming forward
and realizing the emptiness right this
is this is just pure emptiness now just
going to go back to the to the Zechariah
8 22 25 22 23 it's simple math there are
10 from the different languages we
understand there are women we see
languages look at the Hebrew it says me
called Lashon nota going from all the
different languages amongst the nations
so there are 10 no there are 70 there
are 70 nations so now you have ten men
from each of the 70 nations which makes
it seven hundred seven hundred non Jews
will come and hang where the cana 'the
the great point to the corner of the HUD
says issued a d by the way that's a
whole nother story
but okay so they will hang on to the how
many corners does that you have on this
garment for so now yeah what do we say
there was 700 times for there's gonna be
2800 so my message really is
to the Jews that are listening you
better start learning the Torah because
you're gonna have 2800 disciples you're
gonna have people who so eager to learn
right that look let's look at the next
verse on when you look Habbakuk chapter
2 verse 14 chapter 2 verse 14 yeah yes
2:14 says for the earth shall be filled
with the knowledge of the glory of the
Lord as the waters cover the sea so look
what does it mean again back to the word
knowledge and we talked about hakama
wisdom but here it's das okay there
obviously is a difference between das
and wisdom the sand and hokhmah but
nevertheless the world the world will be
filled with the knowledge and the glory
of God and this is what we're looking
forward to and I know that we think it's
only the jeweller's responsibility and I
see that non-jews are taking
responsibility as well and Baruch Hashem
you know through the internet and all
these different social medias and
whatnot books are being written laws are
being passed in government's is
radishchev these laws of justice as this
person had mentioned you know I just
love his list you know dealing with all
these justice issues they they have to
be dealt with at some points I don't
know how it's gonna happen because the
Jew has always been the last person you
go to to find out anything but things
are turning around right the kuzuri he
right I mention that's a great book I
suggest people buy it read it take from
the library I don't know where you can
get ahold of it but this King had a
philosophical issue he believed in God
but he wanted a
program of how to live his life and he
went to the Jew and the Jew and they had
this conversation and the conversation
ended listen he did convert it's
according to the story but it's
irrelevant the point is that he was able
to as an individual he was able to see
the wisdom in the Torah and he himself
adopted it and according to the
tradition his whole nation converted or
accepted you know the Torah way of life
so that's that's something significant
so he played a great role so too many
Gentiles are waking up and also gonna
play the great role that's my blessing
to you off there's a few things I wanted
to do I mentioned about the Gomorrah I
wanted to go through in Sanhedrin page
59a I don't know what to do first is a
book here it's called the drush of
Tehran okay so it's in chapter 5
basically it's the fifth russia i only
want to read the beginning
I just wanted because he also mentions
this Mesilla the ashari
idea and the chapter is basically how to
reach a chief prophecy how does one
remember even the in the seal - I'm
getting the Ruach Hakodesh having the
Spirit of God on you is one of the last
results one of the last of the
consequences if you're going on this
path so I want to read it's like a very
short paragraph but if there's a lot of
depth and then we'll go to the Sanhedrin
Gomorrah you know okay
now in a Gomorrah called nadar II it
mentions the Holy One blessed be he
rests his presence which is called the
prophetic spirit only on a person who is
wise mighty wealthy and humble so in
Hebrew we'll say like this that the the
the scheana will only rest on someone
who is a ha ha very important in our
Commerce a
gabor someone who's strong a shear
wealthy enough so humility is also
listed in this towards the end of Rabbi
Pincus been years brighter correct so
let's just read the dresser rod okay so
he's basically talking about these ideas
are being personal qualities you have to
work on your character I can't reiterate
this enough and I'll say it the Vilna
Gaon says the purpose of life is to
corner me dot my wife reminded me today
we read something else where he uses the
word schmear a tummy tuck which means
breaking of the bad character right
great so it's not only and maybe this
also fits in with our idea of going
beyond the level law turn away from evil
and do good that's what it says so it's
not enough just to turn away from evil
but also to do good so Shearson how me
those means to break the bad character
traits but t kind of meanness to fix
them so these also go hand in hand
so that's the purpose of life that's why
God created us okay lets me it is clear
and known that since the Shem blessed be
he desired for the sake of Israel's
righteousness to expand the Torah for
the sake of their merit in other words
we say that God gave us 613 let's just
like this he gave us six hundred and six
additional mitzvahs he gave us more than
the rest of the world because he wanted
to give us more reward he wanted to
increase our righteousness our merit it
was necessary in any event that a man
among us should prophesy what is the
purpose of a prophet it is to rebuke it
is to help people guide them back to the
straight path let it to let us know the
laws of Hashem blessed be and what he
desires us to perform this is my message
to those Gentiles who hope to change the
world you wanted you can be let go say
prophet base you could be on the level
where you have ruach ha'qodesh where
you'll be able to help people understand
and what they're doing wrong right you
want to be able to do that you have to
fix yourself first it's all gonna be
about working on your own self because
nobody's gonna listen to you if you're
immoral like this guru guy right that I
mess the story up but I tried I think
every way for without the gift of
prophecy mankind would be incapable of
discerning the divine will
so the goal is not just for the Jew but
for mankind to discern God's will which
is the seven categories and all their
details okay so there are going to be
leaders to have to be leaders within the
Gentile community within the Bnei Noach
community who are going to take a
leadership role and teach as you'll soon
see the seven Noahide laws we already
have rod Bryant in in Texas yet so many
other people that are doing from you so
many other people are doing such great
work to get the word out there's no
doubt that the man who receives prophecy
must be truly perfect in moral and
intellectual virtues he has to work on
himself morally and intellectually
meaning this really ties in with that
whole question what did Ruth cooked me
he means both you have to have Kozma but
you have to have morality and morality
only comes from God or at least the most
perfect that can be found among mankind
therefore Ravi on a son who is the
author of this price that we just
mentioned the darian explains here that
before the Spirit of Hashem bless
becomes upon the Prophet he has to
attain perfection in these four areas
which creat I'll just reiterate he said
it is it is a wisdom might wealth and
humility
now the might and wealthy issue is going
to be problematic for the ron because
where does that fit in with personal
development right if I'm wise okay
that's because I worked to figure
something out we're from humble I worked
on my character but might that's like
physical
might or wealth what does that have to
do with character development it's a
great question that he asked so he says
two of which are perfections in the
matter of his salt which is the
intellectual which is the wisdom and
moral virtues which is the humility but
the and the other two which are more
like human matters it's more material
right whether it's the physical light or
being wealthy she says now there's no
question that Ramona's son says a
prophet must be wise which includes all
the intellectual virtues and and enough
oh by the way this is the side point
are you aware I hope people are aware
that there are seven types of wisdom in
the world there's a mission it is both
but there's a mission err this says that
if someone tells you that there's wisdom
amongst the nations believe them but if
they say that there's tour amongst the
nations you don't have to believe that
so I just wanted to mention because I'm
reading this piece on the skirt the
homer and it mentions about the seventh
wisdoms that exist so let me find the
page I know it's here you have the
candelabra you have the menorah so you
have the one in the middle that's the
real light and that's gonna be from the
Torah but you have other medical
disciplines of wisdom that somebody
asked me today what do I think about
secular wisdom I said there had another
I don't know I don't think of it as
secular I think that every wisdom that
I'm gonna list here is in order to
understand the Torah better right
physics philosophy astronomy medicine
music and mathematics those are the
other six branches of wisdom and Torres
in the center everything you should use
and you should use in order to make the
target greater or to understand the
Torah deeper it's all there
so it's amongst the nation's they have
that they just have to use it hopefully
in the right way okay so going back so
now there's a there's no question with
Rob Jana son meant when he says the
Prophet has to be wise this he means to
conclude all the intellectual virtues
and when he says a prophet has to be
humble so this includes all the moral
virtues so the sage attorney said in
tractate avodah Zarah 20 be humility is
the greatest attribute of them all now
this was part of that original Brice the
tonight statement of Rabbi Pincus Ben
your ear he's quoting it here so it goes
on could not have done so without first
acquired purity this is like the list
and holiness and the fear of sin and the
rest of all the moral virtue is lifted
here listed here so in order to get the
humility it already includes all the
other things that are mentioned in our
very important brighter that's brought
in the introduction to the path of the
just and there's no doubt that these
virtues perfect the sole and separate
him from the lower world and Keith us
please to the upper world which is
called intelligence now think I want to
explain what this means but let me just
read the words he thought leaves to the
upper world which is called active
intelligence until he's capable of
prophecy so the word in Hebrew Satyam
literally means intelligence you have to
use your discerning ability you have to
to understand the world and especially
for the Noahide but I I have a different
way of understanding the word say huh
the maja uses the word say huh as spirit
it's spiritual the Rambam uses the word
saeho as pure intelligence and perhaps
that's where he comes up with the word
active intelligence and I'm gonna read
this the footnote here in a second but I
in my humble opinion translate the word
Seco neither way but both as your
spiritual intellect since the Nara calls
it a spirit and the Rambam calls it
intellect and I believe both are correct
you go ahead you wanted to say something
ya rabbi I've read lessons along this
line that actually go all the way back
to the time of the children of the
prophets during the time of Elijah and
yet even further that they had to master
intellectual virtue is the way I was
told intellectual virtue and overcome
intellectual flaw and it seems to be
exactly along the line they also had to
master character virtue and character
flaw and it was considered a character
flaw to think you master character
virtue no I'm told that this goes all
the way back and to hear you link this
to the sources that actually cite
exactly what was required to be a
prophet it is so logical more than
logical it's on that level beyond you
know rationale into pure intellect and
genuine thank you for sharing thank you
so look I just want to reiterate that
those the question at hand is what about
those middle traits strength wealth so
there are a perky a vote that says who
is strong on who is a keyboard one who
overcomes his evil inclination so you
would think they're not going to take it
out of its context the Prophet probably
was physically strong but I'm not so
sure it was necessary I think more
important is the character development
of working on your
yet Sahara you and your evil in the
nation the other idea of wealth
Pirkei avos says who's rich one it was
happy with his lot meaning again it's a
spiritual not necessarily materialistic
wealth so I just wanted to conclude that
one idea now let's go into this Gomorrah
who's gonna take a little bit of time
but this is very controversial
[Music]
now let me I'm gonna try my best at this
point to head off any problems that we
quoted we're gonna be quoting and this
Gomorrah this is insane Hedren but it's
also one second there's another Gomorrah
in Nidoran now hadarom was we're talking
about the vast sea if Tom would even
though there's only 36 tractates there's
actually an order there really is an
order okay and the Dharam comes after
Sanhedrin okay so the halacha is going
to follow the latter it always goes
after the latter later in time and it's
going to be different or we have to
understand what it means why we're gonna
go after the one in the dark just keep
this time we're in the same tension
right now and the question is asked or
let's say the statement is said by Rebbe
Jochen on that had non Jew I'm unions
were going this case although we're
gonna see the proper terminology is
actually another worshiper an idol
worshiper whose only sake the Torah who
involves himself in Torah is worthy of
the death penalty and the gomorrah
quotes a verse that the torah was given
or commanded to us by moses as a more
russia as an inheritance to the
congregation of jacob so it says to us
as an inheritance but not to them and
this is the reason why again the
question really will be in the text is
it
idol worshiper is just a regular guy
happens to be in the Dharam it's gonna
quote the word
oh they Coco theme and not going okay
but anyway we'll go on so the question
the guar says why not list this amongst
the seven Noahide laws if you're going
to tell me that a non Jew if Heath's is
in Oh safe batteries mamas really
involved in Torah he is going to be
punished why is it not listed let it be
listed with the seven laws so news will
go through this quickly the gamora
discusses two possibilities because it
was already listed what do you mean well
one is stealing they're not let us steal
and it's considered stealing because it
was a gift to the Jewish people or what
about forbidden relations the word more
Raja even though it means an as an
inheritance it was given down but it it
could be read as murasa which means
betrothed so if they're going to be
involved with a betrothed woman
we're not yet married it's she's only
betrothed it's still problematic and
it's under the laws that were already
given now this is where it gets
interesting because we read the Rambam I
mentioned at the beginning about the
laws of Kings that brings this down at
the same time you have the laws of
shmita yoga which is shite and to this
week's partials relates to the sweet
Martian Bihar buco tie that is a non Jew
who dedicates himself to learning Torah
is like a cawing doddle how can that be
so this is read this is the Gomorrah
that says it's brought down and up in a
brighter says Rebbe mayor now Rebbe
mayor is going to be significant because
we know a certain opinion of his which
we'll talk about Shirley he says
midnight Sheffield how do I know that
even a non Jew and this is where it's
listed non Jew not idol worship and
that's gonna be the difference okay
we're gonna have to expand on this a
little bit that the non-jews aiesec
Patara whose mom is involved in Tara
he's considered the level of a high
priest
and the answers given from a verse and
we're gonna have to deal with this verse
now it's in Leviticus 18 5 the verse
said smart MS Foucault tie are you gonna
guard my statutes that Mishra tie my
laws
I'll share yes sir oh somehow Adam the
high BAM which shall a man do in them
and live by them so it says ha Adam
it doesn't say Israel it doesn't say
corny blue theme where Israel either but
it doesn't say Israel that's really I'm
gonna make that the point it could have
said Israel but it says haha Dom that a
man does does them and live by them so
the very fact that it says hard um man
that happens to include non-jews so what
do you learn from this this proves that
even a non Jew not a not a knight a
worshipper but a non Jew and I'm more
basing this on the on the language of
Nidoran
right to show you that this is really
the way to read it when it came to an
idol worshiper it's problematic for him
because most likely he's either been
imposter as a Jew thing and leave the
wrong way which we have today in in
Israel we have this TV station that is
messianic it's problematic but over here
we're the Kohen Gadol
it's an it's a regular it's already a
guy who's no longer worshiping idols
we'll call him a been off he's given up
by the worshipping so he is no longer
considered a no vehicle hobby and his
own sake the Torah is like a Kohen Gadol
now there is one more line that's very
important because the course still
answers over there meaning over here in
the bracer the Rebbe memorable oaken on
the original one he's talking about for
the la caja being he should be involved
only learning the mitzvahs the seven
misses okay now I just wanted to mention
a few points why is this verse talking
about
it's talking about learning tour even
though we said we start off with a third
grade learned Torah and it brings this
verse he's like a con gato because it
says push Martin the words bouche Martin
at cocoa time you shall guard my
statutes this is referring to Misha
Misha is oral torah already so a non
juice seems to be that if he was on the
right path he can go and learn beyond
just a seven okay but let's not even go
let's just say it's not a prompter in
learn Torah and certainly he should be
learning beyond the seven meaning
vertically so many so many laws ok what
I want to assure you was there's just
way too much here but we'll do it anyway
that if you think that there's a problem
with lift naive or putting a stumbling
block before the blind that's been
discounted by Kostas there's no problem
of putting a stumbling block before the
blind because he can certainly learn
Torah from other people he could open
books whatever it is but there's no
problem for many many reasons why a Jew
cannot teach him that you can teach him
time one of the reason why it's not
we're talking about the righteous
Gentile why it's not problematic also
it's not the problem of Gaza Gaza again
that means thievery it's a little bit
love dish a little bit complicated but
basically it's only if the person is
taking away something if there's nothing
being taken away then there's no there's
no Gessle here as i mentioned about the
pen when you borrow that pen and you use
some of the ink it's gone it's gone
forever
but there's no Gessle there's no real
Gessle here ok it's a little complicated
I don't know if I want to spend that
much time on it this is the most
important immediately the miry and the
customs so for that those names you
should know well the mere he says
there's no forbidden act for a going to
learn Torah album came who Isaac bar
only if he has
no intention to fulfill the prime mrs.
Arriba Hebrew ain't is Allah got Lagoo
lumo Torah le in cane hoop I Sigma
shallow the qivana cubic re-emits kata
Ella Shelly becau fates Leo rate the
authority no the Tamil Taney but his
heart desires to bring down the
knowledge of the Torah and all of its
learning but the reason for the isser
why would it be forbidden
Kishori sigma Bothans a if he involves
himself in this way that he holds she so
driven a a dumb show you who t that he
makes people think that he's Jewish me
touch her Roy Moto's that they see him
she do it at Torah they see that he
knows the Torah we although the two top
arrive and they're gonna follow him and
make plenty of mistakes that's the
problem
Ivo immersing bhavish will the Calle me
carry Mitzvahed ability start learning
the Torah in order to learn the prime
purpose of the mitzvahs aimed Isaiah so
there's no forbidden nature at all
Koscheck and how much more so in Limu de
who'd al dot Laveau odd chocolate slain
with the Torah how much more so is he
permitted to learn if his whole intent
is to come to perfection the goal is to
perfect himself in Torah in order today
she meets a new Schlemmer yasser the
agai air aimed as a is her if his whole
goal is to find the truth basically and
to do true ver and perhaps even to to
convert but again what does that mean
to convert there's no mystery at all the
yoader in a second the kind increments
finish ma the main goal it's even better
if his involvement is to fill the midst
this for the sake of god that is the me
eerie there's a few other interesting
pieces but i want to go to the custom
sofa okay he writes the way he
understands the Rambam and this is going
to put together the
the more that we learned because of its
Masha Masha Issa ashleeta remember in
the Rambam it seemed to say that in non
Jew learning Torah keeping Shabbos is
problematic he says it infers according
to the Rambam where he understands it
that the forbidden nature of keeping
Shabbos or learning Torah or fulfilling
all the other mixes in the term besides
the seven is only by a who is an
idol worshipper
but Abed know us who's no longer
worshiping idols is permitted to keep
Shabbos again according to me means
voluntarily not like a Jew and to learn
Torah again learning Torah deep on the
seven laws and perhaps other mitzvahs
that he wants to fulfill
Olek I am sure mitzvahs mitzvah cetera
were to confer fill other minces from
the Torah the kitab shall no fees at me
o Chabot Khushi attack Amarth now he
explains why there's no real question in
the gomorrah it actually resolves why we
don't count the another one of the
questions was why isn't Shabbos one of
the seven laws they can't keep or why is
the learning Torah why did they count
that as one of the laws it's not counted
why in at all in the Torah of the the
seven laws Inara came on shana a soaring
le law or even are you are you think or
you later Zahra it's only forbidding to
someone who's an idol worshipper but not
to a bed Nowak shall only been no Akshay
no or you day voters are it's not
forbidden this is the hussam sulfur it's
not forbidden for been naughty
Shabbos to learn Torah just to do any of
the other menses it's only forbidden for
someone who is an idol worshipper and
now he claims it's clear in the Rama who
brings this law from the language of the
Gomorrah of Mathari
that the hey big flower that
non-jews are including this concept
called they do but they're not obligated
that's what I say over and over again
you're doing it but you
have to realize you're not obligated I
need so many people who are confused
they look at the turret without any
instruction from Jews and they think
they have to not eat work they think
they have to you know go to Jerusalem
say year whatever they made up the
religion they remember a makka - nothing
that's why i say the only real way to
learn is to learn through jewish sources
so what it says that non-jews are
including the carrier to do and not to
do
that's regarding the midst of Shabbos
it's voluntarily they can only keep it
on a voluntary basis which infers
maschmann shame land is searched Vita
Ella Shan and mature macaque they have
no issue of keeping shoppers but they
have to realize they're not obligated
from here huh that's the whole point of
banana like yes we can annoy see Chirac
idea but as IRA moose hiring shallow
leash both this is the custom surfers
understanding and I want you to know I
had this conversation with Rabbi
Goldberg and he says this bridge alarm
is based on this custom so forth okay
it's only the idol worshiper who's not
allowed to keep Shabbos of the
stop but non-jews who already gave up I
know where I should there ain't no our
youth a voter's are they're no longer
idol worshipers Eynon MacLeod is to do
isuzu they're not at all included in
this forbidden nature and now this is
the most important part
Sokka Sylvia Gomorrah Ben and Darian the
constant surfers understanding the
Rambam has passed coming the way the
language is this same to more insane
tangent appears over there in the Dharan
locus su Gege mark on right that the
language isn't the same because it's a
little bit ambiguous but over there it's
much clearer because he says missus
nazar it McDonough Dharam was compiled
more later who are your tears later than
all the other receptors and shots and we
always go after the halacha that came
last that's how the asking yes
so I hope that was quite entertaining
but you're getting to the heart of the
whole matter and how it literally plays
out to the non Jew to the 70 nations I
think if they grasped exactly what the
message from Hashemi is and perform what
they understand and understand that
they're do what they do is non
obligatory but do it for the right
reasons they haven't crossed any
boundary they haven't violated they
haven't profaned but it's it's those
that want to pretend they're something
they're not
and literally steal as you begin to even
share where lines get crossed and and
and you know the morality gets blurred
and when is it animalistic taking versus
something pure and holy and honest as
Hashem intended so that true honest
relationship with him exists there's
beauty in Judaism I just wish the 70
nations would grasp this right to shame
they will slowly fall heed what I wanted
to say was I kind of understand without
the knowledge the fear is misplaced so
what we need to do is set the the order
straight and then the fear can then be
used in a proper and healthy way you
know I hear that oh I don't know what to
do I hear this I hear that so the more
knowledge they have the more the fear
would be in the in in the right place
okay and that's what we hope to get it
to the highest level of a moment Roman
root of all and not you know anyway I
want to I want to mention that rabbis go
back gives a great introduction I could
never do it
he gave it had been more than an hour
sheer I don't know just on the
introduction to the wrong house book of
the book of the just put up again
while you want this has more notes okay
I suggest to get this but I'm not try
the class on I don't get any money I
don't get any money from feldheim or
arts grow but I do find that this has a
better notes okay more notes so I want
to I want to stress that everyone should
listen in I don't know where I put it
but at least on my website which I put
this series I gave a link to his
introduction but I think if you put into
Google search or into youtube search
rabbis go back introduction to and
around Kyle Orton path of the just you
should be able to get it but if you go
to my website I see you pull up and
Gibbon it calm there's a little link
somewhere to beyond the seven I think
that's what I labeled it and there
you'll find the link just as well
okay so let's today and hopefully we'll
get through I have to tell you the truth
just like a paragraph and a half and
then we'll skip I don't know if there's
not much to do but if you listen to his
introduction we're gonna have to spend
that much time it's so thorough it's
just really unbelievable yeah I don't
know where I'm going with this because I
want to get to chapter 18 and I haven't
decided whether to go through each step
all the way because it's so important or
just to go like introductory to the
introduction and then skip to 18 I
haven't decided yet but let's do the
first paragraph at least so the ROM cow
is giving this the groundwork for a
spiritual program so says the author I
did not compose this work to teach
speech to teach people what they do not
know this is also so it's humbling for
him he's gonna tell us that he's telling
you what you already know so that's the
last thing someone was trying to sell a
book would put in but what he's really
tell you is these are things people take
for granted and now everybody knows it
meaning your soul is
this makeup of what's right and wrong
you know it but you need to constantly
review it you need this motivation this
catalyst to constantly be in your daily
activities so that you will make the
right choices but you have to take these
step by step by step to eventually get
there where you're able to be strong
enough to make the right choices and as
I say mentioned why did I find this hole
because if we're talking about as a he
wrote his first his first chapter is a
hero which is the actual language the
Rambam uses which is the actual language
repent linear uses that means to be worn
as and to be careful and towards the end
he uses the word classy dude and that
also the Rambam says these two different
types of non-jews one is just wise and
he's probably Zaheer he's probably
careful but the person who's going to be
a huset he I think again he's going
beyond so he's let's say incorporated
both the intellect and the spirit he's
taken both the wisdom and the piety
right this the spirit part and he's
combined into and I think that's really
the goal I hope that's the goal of
whoever is listening and if it isn't the
goal then perhaps I can convince you
that that should be your goal but let's
let's just meet again what he says he
doesn't compose this work to teach you
what you do not know but rather to
remind them what they already know and
abundantly is evident to them again like
in there I think it's in the American
and I don't know if it's those rights
the Constitution what else do they have
but basically there's certain there's
certain inalienable so you will not find
in most of my words anything then
matters that most people know and have
no doubts but in accordance with the
great degree to which these matters are
universally accepted as self-evident and
in corresponding measure to their truth
being manifest to all so too is the
disregard because people say I know it
already how often I don't need to learn
that it's so obvious for that for those
people that want to know more about
justice they have to know how to get to
the point of clarity and the will to be
just and that's why I mentioned from the
very beginning that Musa is so important
part of Jewish learning every Jewish
school that deals with the intellect
also has and it could be 15 minutes that
they could be half an hour there an hour
they but they make sure that they learn
these ideas okay so you might so you
disregard them as very prevalent and as
a result forgetfulness of them is
rampant because you don't pay any
attention you're not interested you
think you know it all therefore this
book is not intended to introduce new
ideas but to remind people of the
undeniable truth that they tend to
forget the benefit that will be gleaned
from the safer now now is just pitched
why you should buy the saver don't it
doesn't come from reading it all at once
it's not one of those books you've read
once and you put on your shelf okay
it's a book that you're gonna have to
read over and over again so this is
another you know you were in marketing
right you want to be able to sell
something that you're gonna have to keep
you know a little bit wear out your
buying do another one
for it is entirely possible he says that
after reading this book the reader will
not find in his mind any new ideas that
we're not already present in his mind
prior to reading the safer other than
just a few points but rather the main
benefit of the safer is gonna come from
reviewing it and doing so consistently
so the one will be constant reminded of
these matters which people naturally
tend to forget as a result he will take
to his heart his obligation in life
which otherwise ignores let me in there
because this is really the crutch of the
matter even though yes it's true keeping
going beyond the seven meaning
vertically into all of the subcategory
the seven overreaching things is going
to change the world and that should be
your focus there's no doubt it should be
your focus but how did you get there
like we is just assuming everyone's on a
different level there's many new people
and people more advanced you don't need
to watch us go and start looking at the
the rabbi's speaking in depth on
returning lost objects on paying your
workers on time there's there's volumes
written on each one of these subjects
okay so that's what I suggest you do I'm
not trying to scare you away or run or
chase you lay around at all rabbi I love
how you you've brought that out in the
end so we don't go stale we don't go
stale I mean we're not just the 70
Nations isn't just intended to be non
involved bystanders in a crowd watching
a show and there's a lot of things out
there that are just shows but you know
the Torah is life altering life changing
I love how you talk today about digging
deep peeling back the veneer and getting
in straight down not not looking
vertically what more can I have but
looking closely at what we actually do
have and this is where I find that the
the depth of Taurus so beautiful
especially being somebody who's not
Jewish it's it's it's alive it's living
it's pure and it goes deeper and deeper
and deep and you know we can begin to
walk in it and we can begin to shine
light also I think you've really touched
on some beautiful stuff today or so were
we winding it down are we good for we're
good for next week and hopefully we'll
get into the the 18th chapter in 1819
chapter of Mithila to sharing so if you
want to look at that ahead of time great
and it will help us all
and I I wish everyone a shovel etaf a
great life a life of full of Torah and
mitzvot and tikkun olam fixing the world
but it all starts maybe I will tell us
the story right about fixing the world
the hope it's high and said when he was
young he wanted to fix the world so he
had really you know
I he set the bar really high and he was
quite disappointed it wasn't anybody
listening to him he didn't feel
accomplished and so he said instead of
trying to fix the world up I'll try to
fix the country
so maybe the continents the country he
also set the bar way too high and didn't
feel accomplished and he went down to
his county and city and then he realized
you know what I it's myself if I fixed
myself I can change the whole world and
that's what it comes down to like that's
where it starts there is a little bit of
a difference between the Jew and the non
Jew and I want to go back to this quote
from the time of the legend when he
spoke about that the Jewish people are
kingdom of priests said both positions
of priests and congregant have
significant and corresponding
obligations a priest is not a priest if
he has no congregation and a
congregation requires a priest to
provide a system the Jew is obliged to
observe 613 mitzvot the non Jew
similarly has the obligation to observe
seven Noahide laws both Jew and non-jew
have the ability and free choice to
generate Tiku or god forbid the opposite
cuckoo change damage through their
actions however the Jews obligation
responsibility is to rectify both
himself and the worlds around him
whereas the non-jews obligation is to
rectify himself therefore the impact of
Jews action reaches further should any
non Jew wish to take on a greater level
of obligation he has the free choice to
convert to Judah the Judaism as long as
he does it with conviction however and
non-jews able to reach meaningful
spiritual Heights of perfection in
serving God without converting to
Judaism so I want to say like I believe
that the non-jewish world can do a lot a
tremendous amount the question is what
this I think there's no limit right
collectively in fact I'll read another
room or some other time and some other
sources that basically and don't get me
wrong
don't call me but in non Jew I'll call
this a going
who attaches himself to the Jewish
people right as a non Jew he's trying to
be holy he basically has the status and
I don't mean halakhic status but at
least in God's eyes
he's like a joke he really has what well
you know we'll save it I'm gonna let
people let's talk about this next week I
will go into it a little bit further and
elaborate what I mean he is not
holistically a Jew but there is some
unbelievable virtue of this non Jew
who's accepted the Torah from how from
Mount Sinai and he is supporting the
mission of the Jew of Israel I should
say of Israel and therefore he could be
called I'm using this word very loosely
it could be called a Jew but again be
careful you don't walk around saying I'm
a Jew I'm an Israelite but in God's eyes
he has extremely high status and can
shine believes that can change world's
put well with high responsibility hey
rabbi yeah we don't want to profane and
say we're something we're not exactly
make sure that way so being very loose
about that but maybe next week you tune
in and bear out the Shem I will back up
my words and we'll have a better
understanding what I mean
nobody should misunderstand me it's not
a whole lot ecstatic of the Jew not at
all but we're told men in God's eyes you
are one with the Jewish people okay
amen well I think what that's perfect
leave it on hopefully folks come on back
next week Shem willing we're gonna we're
gonna continue this class and we'll heal
more exactly how ya the connection fits
