So I'm saying you're talking about
someone that was here in those years
every
like you could communicate with the
bylang just by thinking what you want
what
and then this was often
someone that was here those years
I'm yasi cayman welcome to among
by an ongoing faban about life as our
vibrant connection with the Reb and
inspired living shaped by the way he
teaches us each and every day.
How are you?
>> Okay, thank you very much for uh making
the time to be here.
And um the way I usually have recently
began these conversations
there's always uh where where you come
from. So I know your father was a famous
Misha Ali Galitzki, right? That's his
name.
>> Yeah.
>> And maybe you could tell me a little bit
about him, where he came from, how he
became how he came into labul.
>> My father was born in L Pon. He lived in
a little city called Kinsko.
And
he had a cousin,
a relative.
And when he saw my father, he spoke to
his father to my he says
because your was already.
>> Yeah. Yeah. He was already in.
And so he sent him to which was a
yeshiv.
This was to sadik alf
and sadik
for the came to
>> from where? From from from or he
was already in Poland already.
>> He was in America.
>> Okay. in Israel pest and then America
the whole sadic
kimat and then
it was I'm not sure exactly which places
but uh
you based Thomas
he came to va so yeshiva they said in
yeshiv that those
certain amount of pro

Yudamos.
and they got a bus and he went and he
used to describe that fabik
was Friday 4:30 in the afternoon
shabas
and
they uh
went into yeshiva yeshiva or
and uh
they sang the mimer before They sang
before the mimemer. Which song? It was a
song.
the
I

Oh
yeah.
Then the
Uh
and
every shabas
after
he always sang this song. This was like
his first
But this was
so it was there and they had
>> the whole group after Shabas everybody's
separate.
>> Mhm.
>> And the next year he learned to ina
this was the main yeshiva then
>> the was already there.
>> Yeah. at Sadi Bay. He learned to via
years later the moved tok
and uh he learned all the years
and then
I once asked him
the famous
B was ink.
said the freed moved
in the middle of the sadics. How was it
sadic bay? So he told me that even
though the freed was in Ver but every
tish
they would rent a big hotel in which was
the outskirt of
over there all the came and that's where
the
was
>> so you think even when the yeshiva was
in v they would go to they would rent a
place in over there
was the
The Rebba would always come and that
year the told the Reb that he should
say he sat down 8:00
and he started
Sh
and
this went till the morning 6 7:00 in the
morning in the suka.
So when they found the rishima they were
looking for people that were there and
the only one they found was my father.
He said sure remembers the fabangim and
he described to them the suk people came
in it was like for 40 50 people
and
says the whole night straight straight
till the morning
and when they looked into the shim he
was it was more or less what he
remembered.
>> Uhhuh.
So afterwards he's there invat till till
the outbreak of World War II.
>> So he was in V all the years and then
when they went to he was invit.
And when the war broke out, they hid in
the basement of the yeshiva, him and
another few bakim.
And uh every day they had to give the
pisher custodian ago something he
shouldn't squeal on them.
And porchit at night, one of them would
go out and find potato peels somewhere.
And this what they lived on for
two and a half months almost three
months.
There was the day they had nothing else
to give him. He went and he told the
Nazis there's brim in the basement
and they barged in. He said he saw a
window jumped out of the window. He ran
up the stairs. He hid on the roof and he
covered
and he even heard them discussing if
they should go up to the roof or not.
And the poor hashem didn't go up
and
things quieted down. He went downtown
and it happened to be
in the middle.
And over there he met other friends.
And they didn't know what to do. The p
one of them said
and
what they did was by day they hid. At
night they ran till they came to va
came to va. So the fre
was hidden in the basement
by herseli.
So they didn't tell anyone like his
where he was but they were they told him
and he was to have a with
the told him
gates and
go to Russia and you should be
successful.
There was right before the freeda left
Poland through Germany to America
and that's what they did. They ran
and finally they came to Vilna.
Some Vner there was all the Bim the
went to Vilman. They had a yes over
there for a good year.
But then when they saw that uh
the Nazis, the Germans are coming to
Vna.
So they went to look for different
places where they could run and nobody
wanted to give them visas.
One
uh consulate
the
Japanese consulate
>> Sugihara
>> Sugihara he was a visro and he saw the
situation and he did give everybody a
visa.
So he gave
all the yin that came to him, he gave
him a visa.
The answer the whole story
and once they had the visa had traveled
from
V
>> to Shanghai
>> to
Japan Kobe
>> not to Shanghai.
>> Shanghai is China. First they went to
Japan. Their visas was to Japan.
So the freedu
fund
and there was a deal they made with the
Russian government. They anyway have a
train going from west all the way to the
east to Vald deastto
a train that takes 12 days.
So they said, "Yeah, we have a train.
We'll pay us $600 American dollars for
each
ye that they let onto the train." And
they did. And the freed sent from
America money. And each one
gave the money. And they had
uh a train going the whole through the
whole Siberia till the ocean. Alasto was
the city. today there's a there I think
and uh
I asked him what did they have for food
he said the meeting they took a long
bread
asked him how long does bread last he
said if it's not in the plastic it could
last that's what they ate for for the
whole trip and in every station they had
hot water they had hot water and bread
and they stopped in Muska and whatever
they hadim
the sh they couldn't give it to theim he
remembers Benash was there other that
were in Mosa so they
>> they got off and they walked around
>> yeah they gave him a stop in Moscow
>> Mhm. and they uh they would put it in
the sid and the safer and they knew
ready to take it out but they couldn't
talk with them because no communications
and then they got to Japan
but later Japan with the Germans made
upas
they made uh they became part of them
and they kicked out all the Eden after
about eight months
it's the only place that they could go
was to Shanghai in China.
So they went to Shanghai, China
and there was a labure of therekinazi
and all all the play. I'm not just
talking about the labavature.
>> Yeah. The mirror was there this and
that. Yeah.
And uh
finally
they worked out that Canada sent about
90 visas
for Yidden to come to Canada.
So they divided it according to each
yeshiva. The yeshiva got nine visas
and every other yeshiva the labini
yeshiva the yeshiva
yes and snagas
they all got a certain amount
and they prepared the trip and the
ship was supposed to
>> how do they know which bahim got the
visas
>> I think that like the more older ones
got the visas.
In other words, out of the 40 50 bim,
they gave the older ones.
>> So this is the whole group. This is
Greenlass and Kmer and
>> Rabbi Greenlass, Rabbi Kramer, Rabbi
Hendel, Rabbi Rodel, Rabbi Stein,
my father, Rabbi Weinberg, Rabbi
Katlarski,
and Rabbi Tannibel. Those were the nine
that got the visas.
And the boat that they were supposed to
go was leaving Adrian Keeper. Now when
the boat leaves from China to America
and Adam keeper see him keeper is going
to be on the
>> dateine
>> the date line. So which day do you fast?
First day or the second day are you
closer to east or to the west?
So all them snagged him pasin that
you're not allowed to go on the pas they
said not to go on the boat not to go any
got a telegram from the
four words
to travel in the first possible
opportunity
So the labavich went once the labavich
went because the told him so all the
other also went
give me an example Rabbi Hishburg was
Rabbi Heshburg
from Mexico
told me there was a daughter the was on
the boat they went but liter
stayed in uh uh
Shanghai, they'll go with the next boat.
So they went and
they traveled and as soon as the boat
left, a telegram came from America
to the boat that they need them to
travel west to Hong Kong to pick up 300
American citizens.
So there was no more Shiloh. The whole
Shiloh was if they go to the date line,
but if they're going back over there,
there was no Shilin. They fasted one day
and then the boat went they stopped in
Honolulu
>> from there in in Francisco.
>> San Francisco. Francisco.
>> Francisco.
>> It's a country,
>> the city in California.
>> Oh, San Franc. Okay. Yeah.
>> And
>> on the way to Canada.
>> Yeah. Yeah. They had the American police
watching. They shouldn't run out, you
know. And they took a train. They
stopped in Chicago. In Chicago, they had
a whole big meal. Statesavich didn't eat
because they weren't sure. And later
that
it was good that they didn't eat. And
they continued. They got to Montreal
and
that's how we got to Montreal.
>> Short. Yeah. To Montreal
>> and then some of them ended up in in New
York later, but most of them ended up
staying
>> all nine were first to Montreal, but
three of them later moved to New York.
Rabbi Weinberg, Rabbi Tannen, and Rabbi
Katlarski. But the rest
>> other six stayed in Montreal
>> and they ended up building up the
>> right away they came on a Friday they
announced that they're opening a yeshiva
and they came
the English date still 1941
they opened up the yeshiva Sunday
morning they had already a class they
were ready
told them to do this
that's what they were sent for.
>> Mhm.
>> And who's going to give the shir? So
they made a raffle. My father was always
proud to say that he won the raffle and
he gave the sher the first uh class in
Tshin Bay.
>> So the whole Montreal with all the
Russians that only was later
>> later many years later at least 10 years
later.
>> Mhm. But these nine came originally and
they opened up the Shiva and
the
>> Okay. And your mother's also from
Poland.
>> My mother's father came in the 1920s.
My mother's father
>> came from a city in Poland the 1920s.
They saw the situation. They decided
they got to leave Europe and they were
four brothers.
Nut Rosen Blum, Moa Rosen Bloom, Yankl
Rosen Bloom
and
>> so Montreal.
They came to Montreal
>> and Schulen Rosen Bloom
>> to Montreal.
>> Yeah, they came to Montreal. So they
were from and in Montreal there was a
group a group of Fuma families. They
opened up a sh called siras
and they kept together very strong these
and
till today the show is there was
yesterday I was in Montreal
and
I came to yeshiva and they said they're
rebuilding the mikvah said where do you
go to the mikvah said see the das two
blocks away has a mikvah they used to be
downtown But now they moved up town. But
this sh is still there till today.
And there was like a obviously when all
the came and they were
so my mother who was from a from a
family
and the way the story goes they went to
see who's this
who's this
My Rosenblum took along his
father-in-law who was a long white beard
had 11 kids. He also came to Montreal.
He came much earlier. He came in 1899
told him
and he
he came to and my Z
had eye on him and I heard from my
mother's cousin he was there
and just said uh
My el told my Z
sell your last shirt
and grab him for
he wrote every many letters to the
and
they met they became obviously
and he couldn't come to Yehidas. He was
still uh
>> cuz they didn't have the papers.
>> They didn't have papers. But my mother
was a Canadian born and she could
travel. So she came in.
>> Yeah.
She was then she was born.
So
she was 18.
She traveled and she came into
the
And after
wrote a letter to my father
Rosenlum was here by me and I gave her
the
and I told her you should be strong
the exact printed letter have the
original
and she always
said over that
said he was banging with his hand on the
table.
She says
went through her whole body and she was
talking
super all the years.
Just to tell you
no one wore a shel those years.
No one mish. And she uh
she was the first one to to break the
ice. She put on the shel
and
because of her her aunt right away
started putting on the shel and she used
to go in the morning to watch
how they milk the cows. they should have
some milk. And
this was then there was no but here
she she brought up a generation
and
>> and that was her first connection to
Labavich was becoming a to your father.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Once he ma once the Rosen
Bloom family took my father, everyone
else
>> followed and married Lavage.
>> Mhm. Very interesting. Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> So, let's go over to you. So, you were
born in Montreal in what year?
So maybe you could describe for me a
little bit what it was like growing up
in Montreal
there. What was going on Montreal then?
>> Montreal was a very when I grew up there
was already a big lab. The Russians were
there
that came from Russia. There was the
pisha. There was a
and the building was still downtown on
Park Avenue.
And that was the
maridus of the whole Canada.
That was they had over there and the
bismish
the sh the mikvah.
And uh I admire memories every shabas
the
sitkin
remembering the suk they had and
that was a real lesha
>> there wasn't too many yeshivas then. of
someone from New York or anyone else had
to send someone to yes out of town
>> Montreal
>> Montreal there was New York there was
there weren't too many but it was uh
they moved already uptown to the yeshiva
where it's now
>> Mhm.
>> It's still today. Yeah.
>> And you learned in the over there and
yes and everything
>> all the years. So, what when was the
first time you saw the Reb?
>> First time was for you.
>> So, what's the math?
>> How old I was?
>> Six.
>> You remember it?
>> What can I remember? What I remember?
We used to go every year on
with the family obviously and there was
all also
a special for all theim
that came in for your
so the seda was
that the younger classes came into the
frontal
whoever came obviously the higher
classes had more that came and if there
was place the high school then from
yeshiva till it filled up so I remember
one year I don't remember which one it
stopped so it was only from
that I remember the was already in the
youths
so one year
was filling up and filling up they were
coming in more and more and got full and
the Reb was sitting and watching
everyone coming in. It was the principal
would tell us how to come in
and they filled up
and the Reb said
if you push away the boxes there'll be
more place. So the people in the back
didn't even hear. I understood Yiddish
and I was in the front line. The Reb
said push away the boxes. I remember
going pushed all the boxes in the
corners. I met
especially every year for the yeshiva in
Montreal. Many are mug imprinted.
Some are not. I remember also that buil
would go in with two boim two or three
boim. They should be able to
see
and uh Yeah.
And you also came for tish sometimes or
not
>> from then every year
>> from from your father would come
>> I was here
>> your father would come every year
>> except one year it didn't work out but
from I came
>> so that means you remember the teaching
although I was only seven years old and
this was 5 in the morning but I was here
my I was here with my father and the
rabbi teachings I was here. I remember
the Reb teaching Henu
and then Keonu
>> and Kazen Telleski
would repeat and sing and then till
everybody caught on but it was in the
small shaw in the back long table that
was
>> same place but long table through the
middle of the shaw and everybody was
around and uh
>> so in the back in the back like by the
door
downstairs.
>> Downstairs.
>> Downstairs. The maid of site before they
built
>> was just between 770 and 78. Shalash
>> they had already a roof. So it was
called the shul shalash was before they
built the roof.
>> So the stood on a table and the
being there and the teaching this. I do
remember
that uh they said the le said this year
he's going to teach two nigim and next
year no more.
I remember as a kid that's what they
said
the Reb taught to next year there wasn't
okay
>> some people say because the Reb's mother
was the one that
taught the Reb which needn't to sing
>> there's different theories about it
>> that I don't know saying theories yeah
everybody could say a theory
>> yeah
Um,
so when did you come to to New York to
stay to learn?
Uh,
summer lammed bays. I came to learn in
Marstown. There was like a summer
program. That was the year they bought
the new building
and I wanted to stay but the Reb
answered
and they wanted back in Montreal. The
next year
>> I was in Montreal. The next year
I came already to
me a few friends we all came to
and that
spoke
they should go in different.
So a group went to to seis a group went
to a group went to Montreal
and
we went then to brimis for a year.
>> So you came for one year
>> I was here and then spoke and we should
go to different yeshivas. So then holla
would would split it split this up who
should go where
>> I don't know if it was an hala but
exactly how it worked but there was
>> so you were you were sent to binois
>> we went to bwa
for a year
lit we came back already 770
and when the yeshiva opened inad
so The Rabbi Klein called us in each one
separate and he said since they're
opening up a yeshiva usually they take
from holy to Martown but now since it's
already
so they don't want to break up glasses
whatever so they're taking from 770
and we were 10 bim that went older.
>> Yeah was 20. That's okay.
>> What am I saying? More
>> 21.
>> Mhm.
>> And we were at 10. And we were told
right away, usually the is two years,
but just this year it's going to be one
year until they send the new from the
regular classes.
We had
>> just the
>> the
Rabbi Shhat.
>> So he came in special for the
>> We traveled that day to Los Angeles.
>> He came to New York special for theis.
>> I'm saying yeah. Yeah. From the
>> Was he living in California?
>> The plane.
>> Where was he coming from?
>> He lived in Toronto. came from Toronto
with his family and that's when we all
went to uh on that day we went to
>> he went together with you start yes
what happened by
and
beautiful
said.
So the Reb is going to give everyone a
signed with his name and $2 for the Reb
gave everyone
>> signed a
>> signed
and Yeah.
H.
>> So you were there for a year.
>> Yeah. It was today.
>> Yeah. So you you were sent you on twice.
That's a unique uh
>> Yeah. So the Los Angeles was
handpicked like they say.
>> Mhm.
>> Over the years
went to this yeshiva that yeshiva. But
uh here was Mamesh Mosquito called in
and the whole seda just like Australia
or Miami
>> right? So this is
>> lame.
>> So you come to
>> was that spoke then that every city
should open up three.
So when we came that night, Rabbi Kun
with Rabbi Raichik I remember the said
said the Reb is speaking there are so
many people if everybody thinks that the
Reb is speaking to everyone else nothing
will be done everybody has think that
the Reb is speaking to him. So when the
Reb said to open up
the Reb is speaking to him. So you
opened up the yeshiva, you opened up
then the sh in Beverly Hills and you
opened up mikvah
new mikvah.
So I'm going to go back and forth a
little bit. So what was happening
in the um so what years So I'm trying to
remember the year. In 770 you're there
>> and then
>> again here in
>> Los Angeles and then you come back
>> so what was happening
and those are the years of what was
happening 770 those those years
>> was the tanks after
they were tanks. So what happened? Did
spoke about how did it start? Tanks
>> spoke about first five.
So it was regular I remember put up a
table
>> already exists before.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
And uh
then they started getting these uh step
vans.
What's a step then?
>> The tanks. It wasn't like today the
Penske trucks.
>> Uh yeah.
>> And there was four tanks. They put big
signs tanks against the simulation and
they had a picture of a tank with
very nice and I remember once came in
the morning there were three tanks
parked in front of 770.
Reb turned around and said va tank
because they were ready for drive. Every
day they were going then
>> every day
>> from so the Reb spoke what the spoke
>> this was when the summer started the end
of season
>> what did the Reb speak on about
actually it was after
was after the
and the tank started and
There was a
whoever went on three weeks got a $5
bill from the Reb that year. Those that
went on tanks
equivalent to the same time.
I think it came out to
40 hours a week for three weeks. The
total also got $5 before this was like
and then we went with the tanks in
Manhattan all over. It was tak
a big uh
thing.
So the way it worked was that like there
was different bach that would go every
day in the beginning.
>> Yeah. Everybody knew which is his tank
and we would go every day. Yeah.
>> So when did it become only We would
bring sandwiches and drinks in middle 10
in the morning till when did that stop
that it's every day.
>> Some tanks continued throughout the
summer. throughout the summer.
I remember even there was a thank you to
go every day to the airport to allow
when did it stop at
it's continuing till
>> today. Yeah. Yeah. I know I'm saying I
guess in the beginning was also
>> it was a big
>> then camp started some counselors had to
go to camp etc.
Okay. Um,
>> till camp. I remember tak was that
summer in camp.
>> So before you went to
in California,
so you were here at
>> Yes.
So what what is the I mean everyone
knows what happened but what what's
anything notable that you want to
mention from from
there's a big big by the
big
remember would learn more and
big those few weeks
There's a seder who could go to who
could go to different times but
remember
bigness
all of a sudden and when the came that
the Reb said and the more you dance the
more you'll be the more you'll add in
his health you can't imagine the the
dancing that there was in
Yeah.
That night.
>> Mhm.
>> Remember most people they said everybody
ran out. I was with him. Very little
people stayed.
>> You you left.
95% just ran out. No one's going to.
And then we heard from other people the
Reb made
and he walked
and ZB danced and the Reb went up and
one of the integral components of being
a

>> What are some um notable things from
maybe some
maybe something that you want to share
from those years?
>> Today everything is in the imprinted.
You were telling me on the way up here
about something in the dormatory.
>> When I used to come here, I stayed in my
brother's
dormatory. Where was the dormatory? 788.
>> So this is before you're learning here.
>> Yeah. When I came from Montreal.
So you can imagine at night aus used to
finish
first there was faban there was a
heikoff who went to sleep very late and
then there was a bo dance
and
the room where I slept in was mush like
what 10 ft opposite the windows of the
miz wall of the sh from tshin
Gimmo probably.
>> So this is you're talking about after
the
>> 788 and 784,
>> right? Because this is after the second
expansion. So 770 the
>> before the final expansion,
>> right? So the SH only went through 784,
not the 788
>> and it had windows in Miz wall and the
Reba was on the BMA not far from the
window and my window was right opposite
in the dormatory and I wake up. It must
have been 11 in the morning
and I hear the
was screaming loud
and here I'm waking up and hear that I
wasn't sure should I listen to all the
in the room and go then as I went down
and was to
yeah
delay That room would probably be packed
with to hear
>> you were involved also with the the
children from Iran
when they came out all the all the Baham
70 became teachers. We taught a whole
year. We
>> So what was so basically the Reb had a
campaign after after the Sha was
overthrown. The Reb had a campaign to
bring all the children
whatever as many children as possible in
Iran. They all came here to Crown
Heights.
>> All to Crown Heights.
So you taught for them.
>> So every BA became a Malamid.
We used to teach
had a class and we would teach them.
They came in the middle of the year.
So every
so I was also teaching them
till they went to camp in the summer. He
rented a camp in Monteello called Machn
over there. There was a few hundred of
the Iranians
and uh
I was learning director and we uh we
were there for almost four months.
>> We stayed till
they came to the
>> we would come in the middle. I remember
I was here
keeper for the we came in for Fabangians
but basically we were in the camp till
uh
>> Were you by their seder when the reba
came to visit?
>> Yeah. Yeah. To the baham seda.
>> But not not with the Iranian kids.
>> No. No.
>> But you were by the baham sed when the
reba came. A few times.
>> Yeah. Twice.
>> Mhm. You're also involved with uh
>> would walk through looking in
everybody's kaid and
>> so you also did stuff at the parade also
right
I was involved yeah
>> you're already asking from from I guess
you're already an asin from lamas from
like I said from ladal came to tshams
after pes was supposed to be parades me
few friends yeah we were the bham that
worked on it.
>> Mhm. So when did you get married?
>> And you got married here
>> in that.
>> Your wife is your wife is
>> Yeah.
>> So you had you had
>> we had from the last in private. Yeah.
What happened was if there was still
regularly
but there was such a big that the ones
that had to travel to Israel saw that if
each one goes into they don't know who
won't make it because they had a flight.
So they decided let's start groups
together at least they'll have some
>> Ohidam started this thing.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> That's interesting. like they have to
leave latest by 11:00 and it's4 to 11
and there's 10 couples that have to go
and some might not make it so at least
they'll go together and that's when it
started
and
but we went in
regular
>> with your parents
>> no
>> just
the asked
Wednesday v
was right when we came maybe a day after
I said we don't know yet based on
>> it wasn't like today they they do it
that night
>> yeah yeah it was a week two weeks later
yeah
>> use that language
you know
>> people asked me I'm not sure but then it
wasn't called and then it was called
>> you know why it changed
>> I heard it was from the but I I don't
know for a fact documentation
>> remember They were called a vault.
>> Okay.
And so I'm not sure if the Reb exactly
said the word for it, but Pashas
and
Debb took $2 and he said whenever be we
should give the dollar by the v to
that's
remind
us surely
Good for everyone.
>> Yeah,
>> he gave a lot of braas.
>> My wife's from Israel. I remember the
Reb used
he said
in
usually the say
>> in Yiddish. But when he used the word
>> he used the
Israeli
>> mitzvot.
Yeah.
>> So you got married
and then you came back.
came back from I got married and yvat we
came to the fab
>> and you went to ky
>> went to k yeah I was in ky till
>> so what hap so so how do you so when
you're in ka you wrote the deb about
like how do you know your next step
>> after ky when it came
so I wrote Uh,
I wrote different offers.
>> Mhm.
>> People came. They were looking for offer
here, offer there.
Finally, I wrote in a whole bunch of
offers, but I didn't bring the lotion.
Exactly.
It's very interesting what they have
answered me. Four answers.
>> So, you you can remember you have you
have him.
>> Uh, I have him, but I don't have it on
me. It's very interesting.
basically bal what I remember
is uh
before a person writes in
for which job he should think it over
to what he is
>> to what you're
capable of whatever
>> capable
and what's practical.
>> How is it possible that one person
should be capable for everything? I
wrote every offer which was from the
biggest to the smallest
and
>> the wanted is saying like why you just
sending
>> different from one other words think
what you're capable of then write and
then write
>> so you're being aid you want to that
you're trying to be write everything
again
said
other things also.
>> What do you mean other things besides
>> doesn't have to be just in these offers
that I had could be something else.
That's what it ended up being at the
end. Something that I didn't write
wasn't on the list.
>> Okay. Okay.
then
you can ask
>> so the Reb is giving you
on how to
>> write to the Reb
>> one thing I had to offer in the country
that I didn't know the language and I
mentioned that I don't know the English
another thing I wrote
So the answer on this specific thing
question mark
>> what is it
>> maza
>> what does that mean
>> you're writing in that you want to do so
and so what is it mish I sat down and I
wrote almost a three-page letter
three-page letter
and they're waiting for answers Sir,
every day I would ask Rabbi Klein,
so he told me, "You should know that
it's on the Reb's desk right on top."
He sees it on the Reba's desk every day.
And for weeks, I was waiting and
waiting.
There was no answers. I didn't do I was
still looking. And
finally, weeks later,
the Eb from a three-page letter that Eba
tore off
just
one line out of the whole three pages.
And from
if it's the right thing,
the Reb wrote a
No.
>> And but he didn't give back the whole
three pages. Just a a thin strip
>> to aim
>> aim. It's not for you.
>> Yeah.
>> And he But this took weeks.
>> Finally, there was then the Reb spoke so
strong. I was still a boar about
fetiskanim
>> beforeh this is years before
>> yeah and pen and megiml they were
looking for someone to take it over so
they offered me and truth is that
>> who's they
>> there was a vat a vat of yilite that
they felt like responsible
and they offered and uh
I wrote into the reb
This I got right away. An answer.
This was before
back and forth took months.
>> So for months you're
>> writing hot songs
>> doing different things. Yeah. But uh
>> and then not whatever nothing
and then
>> that's and that's your thing.
>> So what is
wanted a real coy people come and
instead of uh them reaching the retiring
age and doing nothing they should
register
and come and learn every day and
a little bit after I went in we were we
wrote the we have a place we have
>> so so your kale is in is the New York k
or it's like the central k what what's
the function of it
>> there's a kil that's going Now I'm
asking
>> over 40 years that they're learning here
in seven.
>> But every city is supposed to have their
own ky.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Mhm. So you're in New York whatever
>> here
and
everybody that retired
alen came and they learned and beautiful
coy all the years different. First Shia
Pinson used to give Shirim and then now
the Shakang
is Rabbi Holtzburg
and uh
Yeah.
>> And it works like a like they get a
stipen.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They get a
stipen gets paid. And so today we have
three coy in Crown Heights. The one here
sponsors alaz for years and years
but we opened up two more. One is in
Frankl
Rabbi
is
Shurim and Rabbi Ginski
and one is invar
so used to be
they each get about a minion
and as we're speaking now there are
three kum in Crown Heights where the
other two are in English more about the
chu type and the one here is they learn
everything.
So this is the coil but
the
about
it's printed on
everything how the coil should run
and one of the things over there the
writes that since there are so many Eden
and Miscan and the different senior
centers
and they're looking how to uh fill up
the time with the older people. So we
should reach out to them and make sure
etc. So this became the
most of the work at Ferris
senior centers, nursing homes, adult
homes,
daycare centers. There are different
types and the busiest time
comes
We go to so many and want to go
send out. That's why you do the is for
the for the
>> it started but people call he's
homebound
the calls end up in we make the list we
put it together and we send out
we all sent to different part buildings
and hospitals
and the nursing homes and
>> this pes we had every night 35 Five
>> they call in advance no I'm saying
people want to make their own seda but
they call the bavage so there's bim that
they're here anyway pes and they want to
do a seda for public seda so we send
them out to all the different
mishums
>> so and that's after that that you
started those pulas that's when the reb
started being in the kin that you do in
770. What's the story about that? How'd
that happen?
>> We had uh
Rayon
thought to bring all the skum to the so
the first
>> So, so you started doing with them and
then you had this idea to bring to bring
them to the
>> Yeah. So the first time was
of
tough shined
men
and
made a rally. We invited them and they
came from all over
and we knew nothing as to how we going
to speak for them or not. We brought
them.
>> You brought a group to 770. a group
hundreds of scammen.
>> It's a big operation. You have to bust
them in some ice.
>> Yeah. But that was easier. Today they
have so much laws bureaucracy. They
can't leave only for a certain amount
and each building has to then it was
more uh
>> hish.
So nursing homes came and everybody that
came with a wheelchair. There were four
ber on top of the steps picked up the
wheelchair brought him down. They didn't
need a ramp. I said there are pictures a
whole group of wheelchairs and
and uh
on the settle I wrote the program.
So like 1:30 it was starting and
someone's going to speak and then a
children's choir and then refreshments
the whole program and 3:15
You decided to write that
>> in the program. Then the min with with
the
and
>> those years have a diamond upstairs.
So you were being a little bold writing
that
>> by the way be
3:15
3:10 probably
uh one of the boim that worked for the
mashbakim
came down and he's asking me in the name
of theb if the program is on time if the
reb could come down 3:15 to
imagine and I said, "Yeah, for sure."
But uh the would
with each detail like maybe he's running
late, man.
>> So you didn't know till that moment if
the Reb is going to come down or not?
>> Not that the is coming from Ma was the
Reb came to every Ma but we didn't know
if the Reb is going to speak. So I wrote
>> What year is this?
>> Meal.
>> Okay. The didn't
so whatever. Okay. So that maybe was
obvious that if there's a group the reb
did do sometimes downstairs of his.
Yeah. Okay.
>> So I asked Rabbi how does he know before
if the reb is going to speak? He says he
doesn't know till today. He makes a
rebroke
which could mean
after the spoke a beautiful
and we started doing them twice a year.
One time
and one time.
So every year the Reb spoke for them in
the summer a couple of times but not
always. One time
I would give him the letter that we sent
out for
and would usually answer
regular
and it was tough me Zion. So we made it
that year on the Tuesday test zimov
try to pick a day that the reb doesn't
go to the oil. I'm sitting in the office
10:00
and also someone comes in Rabbi Groon's
office
he says Rabbi Gro is calling you. I go
down he says
us.
So I asked her by going give me a few
minutes says okay. So it was before
mikvah I ran the mikvah was
in union
>> union mikvah
>> the hot day
I just vish in two minutes was a hot
mikvah and I didn't dry myself because I
was in a rush and
running and I figure I'll come in and
it'll tell me okay wait this second I
came in says come with me knocks on the
door goes out it never comes out
>> I was the was his in the room by the
door
said since he was it's also the was mia
the whole thing because I didn't know
exactly
said
>> you wrote it down afterwards you wrote
it down afterwards
>> yeah as much as I remembered but but
Rabbi Groer who was in his room opened
his door to listen in so I would say
more he wrote down
Since I decided to go to the oil today,
I want you to give over to the ska for
them, their children, their
grandchildren.
I was giving brahas.
And
then the reb went back in and he said he
wants to give more
stock. Give me 600 six packs of hundred
single dollars.
And then After he went and he came out
again and he said,
"You'll surely give over a report of how
the kinus went."
So right away, Rabbi Groner wrote and I
brought it up. They typed it up and I
gave it in. The makia
edited.
>> You have the original
>> and that's what I read for them. gives
my memories I wanted to give over
exactly the
>> was my G and that's what you read.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> So this is all in a few minutes.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> That's very special. I'm thinking that
means it shows you how much the is this
whole concept
>> that was calling you in.
>> I don't know how many people your age
had such a thing.
>> Yeah. In those years there was no yidas.
>> Yeah. But I was lucky that he kept the
door drop open so he could write it up.
>> Uh there were other answers you got from
the about
>> Huh?
>> About the about the
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Do you remember any of them?
>> You should invite
proper speakers.
They should speak to from the Reb
circled on the stationary.
>> This is the one for
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> She's saying this is a time that the
Reba didn't come.
>> Yeah.
>> And the Reb said they should speak
>> father.
>> The famous thing about speaking as
answer to to you.
>> Yeah.
I move them underline twice something
that they could understand.
Yeah.
>> I remember I once I once MC a
and they asked me to to say the over
from father. So I made sure that it's
going to be something that's something
that the people can understand you know
based on the that you got.
Uhhuh. It's actually interesting that I
noticed that um by
the um the contrast you see of the Reb
you know let's say
the Reb is coming down you can imagine
that these people that the Reb is
speaking to they're probably the Reb is
in the Reb's age and And then just the
>> older
>> older. Yeah. Or whatever. But the
contrast they all look old. The comes in
and like is smiling at them. Reb is
young, you know, like like it's like is
giving them
you you can see it in the videos. You
can
>> Uhhuh. What was the story? Um
there was a shooting you had answer
from. Wasn't there some story like that?
told you right before like Friday. I got
answer
and
>> you got what answer?
>> And it was less than a year later that
the Reb came out with
So here I was learning and then
there's no shears. So I decided we'll
start of Z.
>> One second. One second. We're talking
about Rambam now.
>> Rambam.
>> This is this has to do with the
shooting. So I want to talk I want to
introduce you before I talk about
Rambam.
Okay. Say it. I'll go back. Nissi
we started a raam the first she
>> okay so I'm gonna say now that uh the
big thing that we didn't cover yet is
the thing that you're the most famous
for is the haram
and the
>> in order to make a you have to learn
>> okay so the scene that happens every
we're going to get into all of that so
you're saying this is the beginning of
>> so we started the of
speaks about Rambam and you decide that
there has to be a Rambam
>> and I publicized it all over.
>> You took it on your own. This is
>> on my own
that
height to start a shir. So I remember
put up signs all over that was starting
a shir about 45 people came to that
shir. Who gave the
>> Shapiro gave the first
and
that it's already
over 42 years and every day we learned
three
>> yeah short while later we went over to
Feriskan building on Kingston
and every day
>> every single day for the last 42 years
is a shar
>> what time is the shar 8:30
Friday in Shabas
it changes winter summer usually before
maid
and every day three proim you can
imagine how many people went through
these 42 years
used to be mameish packed you couldn't
get a seat
and
today uh okay it's online so half of the
people come half of the people listen in
and we have the sharashem every day
three
>> 8:30 a.m. or pm
>> p p.m. PM. Okay.
>> And we learn already most of the time we
learn for tomorrow that just in case a
guy misses the sheer, he has another day
to catch up.
>> She learned the next day's
>> next. I learned already
last night.
>> Is there from the about that you're
aware of?
>> But when the spoke by a faban, he always
spoke about the next day at least most
of the time. So it's always the next day
Shir.
>> Okay,
>> that I remember for sure. Not only we
used to learn for the day before, but
then they changed it because they say if
there's a fabul we want to know what the
Reb is going to talk about. So we caught
up and we started learning for the next
day.
So this went on
from Zion.
Now
it was uh
listen to the dates careful.
Two months later,
we had a tea party
to raise money for kingdom
was in the house of
and I wrote into the for
and was interesting. There were no
answers
until I wrote in this. You didn't get
answers for your
>> I got answers. People that went on
Shirum got answers on the stationary of
there was no answer.
>> We started
started summer
>> after after this.
>> This is
uh
meal.
>> Okay. It's it's it's a short you're
talking about. Yeah.
So I wrote in for
Tuesday
Thursday
went to royal
knowing why
wasn't publicized
came out that year.
So over there there's the letter that
today
came safely to
America.
So even before the entered oil, I got an
answer on this
but wrote four letters. Hey B
paybreviation
question mark
answered. There were different reasons
why but
answered there were different reasons
why there was no answers.
And
the answered
and I sat down. I wrote a detailed d. 17
people came and we raised them in
pledges. Then over $5,000.
>> One second. So you were writing before
the event and you got the answer after
the event.
>> Two days after
>> and now you're giving a Okay. By the
time the Reba came back from Dobb had a
complete
Sunday,
I got an answer on the
I saw
like steps
without picking up the pen.
Oh, two answers in three days.
So, I remember I typed it up. I sent
everybody a copy and everybody had the
same question.
That Tuesday,
Gimmel Tamos
was the first time we learned
the last two.
The first time we learned the Rambam
I think it was the last two
and the first pale of
and the first pale of Ilin is the Rambam
writes there's no such thing as Mikra
happened by chance
and if someone says
remember it was the first time we
learned to see such a lot was a After
the sh I had a car and I gave four
people a lift.
Then it wasn't walking at night wasn't
so safe. So I gave four people a lift
and
Rabbi Ellie Martvos
Lang and to Kyap Rabbi rap.
So before I dropped off anyone I was the
first one I was going to drop off was
Shamto of on Carol between drawings
connected.
>> Yeah.
So, as we're on the block, we see two
robbers in front of a Jewish house. It
was obvious up to no good
>> that the middle of Aeneva or
they're breaking in. So, we were five,
they were two young guys. So, we stopped
and we'll see what we could do. He was
already in Schmid. He had a walkiet.
>> So, we stopped. As soon as we stopped
the car, they started running. One ran
backwards and one ran with the traffic
to connectity. So I was the driver. It
was the summer. The window was open and
I gave gas and I mamesh pulled up right
next to him.
We stop. He stops and within a second he
takes out a gun
and he shoots.
I heard this big boom and I see a bowl
of fire.
You shot
and on the split second I just floored
the gas and ran away.
Even though they opened the doors,
everybody was still in the car and we
took off.
We called police,
reported
and uh they took the details. Seems like
they're still looking for him till
today.
In the morning, 7:00, they say they have
to inspect the car. Okay, the car is
outside. They come back two minutes
later. They want me to come out. I come
out and they show me a bullet hole.
Mamesh on the top
where where the side window is, where
the side mirror is,
a bullet hole, which which by him it's a
He
that he didn't pick up his hand
millimeter high.
I have a picture of the bullet hole in
the car.
Obviously, I was a little shaken up.
I wrote the whole story.
I was in the car and then I thank the
Reb for writing
because the says I think
it was
he was what four or five feet away a car
five people a full car shooting both
stopped and
And I had an answer on that. The
answered
question
if you had
in the car.
So then wasn't so much publicized to
have aas in the car. This was tough.
People did have answers, but the
communication wasn't like today. You
send a what's up and a thousand people.
>> Not everyone knew everything.
>> Not everybody knew everything. There
happened to be we had a
randomly in the car
>> and there was a pushka. We knew to have
it. So they would steal. We had it under
the under the seat. So there was and the
pushka. So this uh very important
everyone should know that you have to
have
which now we know is
they come anyway
and the pushkit to have in the car.
>> And by the way there's
to some they have a muza also.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
And
so I'm saying p we learned that there's
no mikra pb didn't answer for so long
and then he answered I have to write
again and what did the answer
I saw
and
is brought to you by
we live in a chaotic world a world where

>> There's other stories,
the famous story with Rabbi Saitlin.
>> He's your brother-in-law, no?
>> Yeah.
>> He also had a shooting.
>> Yeah. Yeah. This was before he was my
brother-in-law.
>> He was a baka then.
>> He was in. I was a bak.
>> You were a bak.
>> I remember the story.
>> I think I heard I heard it from him. The
gun didn't go off. He he he came to make
a mal for the
and Thursday night before the mava he
happened to go through the 770. He was
debating to go in or not because he was
in the rush. He went in. Punked. Rabbi
Klein met him. He said
just sent out 50 single dollars and a
bottle of
wrote
which is a word for a bottle
not 50 not one noon but again two noons.
So he had already twice nun noon and he
put the it was in the winter tavis he
put the bottle of mashk in his right
coat pocket and the $50 in the left and
he's going to
where he stayed by
and he meets him on the corner
was with a car in crown in kingston
and he tells him
as he's speaking to
a big Poor guy comes over to him with a
gun at killer and he says give me your
money.
So he was thinking the rabb just gave
him $50. He's going to give it to the
guy.
Within a second the guy gives a shot
and he runs away. Mama she says right in
front of him gives a shot and he runs
away.
So Nefi was in the car backed up to the
police station tells him there's a
shooting. So right away they
>> The gun went off the gun went off
>> coming off of course there was a woman
watched the whole thing.
>> He missed
>> and the police came and he ran over
there. No
in those days there was no cameras.
There was no cell phone.
>> You said they're still looking for him.
>> Yeah. Over there also.
And they start asking him details. What
did he look for? As things calm down,
Napolei feels that his jacket is wet.
How's his jacket wet? Where did he
drink? Where did he get water? Like the
things settled down and takes a look.
When the guy shot, he missed down laser
went into Napolei's elbow.
>> He didn't realize.
>> Got a shot. Didn't feel. He went to call
police there shooting
>> and prayed five minutes later. It was
full pushet bleeding from the
>> so he asked me if the bullet went off it
went into his hand
and again
answers out of the blue again. Why not
bak book use the and vun von and here
>> so twovagers have the m shooting and
>> okay this is
the stories that are
okay so
>> so once we had the shir
>> oh so now you're getting to your career
in Is that is that what we're going to
talk about
in Rabbi?
So, it was a nice thing. We had the
>> his idea.
>> Yeah. He was the one first one that came
up with it and there was a lot of labon
here for beautiful pictures. It was
Rabbi Ashkenazi and Rabbi Bistritzki.
remember Marlo came
through.
>> Yeah. And all the people that learned
felt it was there
and
actually was an a
we had a beautiful summ and always I
would type it settle and be and this day
there's going to be a mitzvah and a fab.
So how much times comes out to 14 times
max
and uh
every time every time I wouldn't say
every time but we gave in a copy to the
for
many answers s on the s on the re the
invitation
and also many times on the report
beautiful answers. I have copies
different that was ma sometimes
the date I wrote hyo with a wrong date
and I have a circle with a question like
circled the day circled pulled uh with
the pen and the question mark how is it
copied from the one before
>> if I wrote this guy gave the CM Lily
Nishm asked
Ben
What's his father's name?
>> His mother's name.
>> Father's name.
Okay.
>> And
I wrote this guy gave for a birthday two
weeks after the birthday.
I should tell him to do many answers
during
>> the really of this.
>> Yeah.
>> Then there was
>> happened in 770. Mhm.
>> They were in 770.
>> Flex. Good. Most of them
were in the Kyle.
>> The Kyle is in the is in the back of
1070, right?
>> Yeah. In in the where the Shir is or in
the Viber next door. That was where most
of them were. If it was a deager or
something bigger, we would make it in
770. Actually there was one time
that uh Rabbi Rap was a whole day in
770. He knew who's coming which there
was one time uh
mayor from a city in in Israel
that said he might come. He wasn't sure.
So if a mayor comes and I think it was a
few mayors together so then we would
have to do it in a bigger place in 770
in the show. But if they're not coming,
so you do it in there's this narim over
there.
So I made the ma
and
instead of writing exactly where it will
be like specify in 770 in the shim, I
left it empty
and the gave mashkb gave mashk. So, you
have to announce what you're taking for
and where it's going to be and which day
and what time and everybody's invited.
>> The Reb said to say that
>> the said
in the beginning the said to announce
what he's taking for a few weeks later
said to add
>> so everyone will do that
>> everyone.
meant to free the but
everybody would say.
So this time I gave him the
was before
in other words till
summer meas
all the mashka was only from the we
never gave in.
People make a big dinner, a big they
give him. But here we didn't feel. So
all the times the Reb gave was
all of a sudden the fab said he wants to
give mashka saying.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> So why didn't you give on your own if
you saw that the wants it? He thought it
was certain times
>> makes today a birthday party. He's going
to give in a bottle. Like we didn't
people gave in for real
a big dinner from
it wasn't
>> sobb
gave mashka
and actually the first time the rebba
said that when he gives mashk wants to
announce what for he gave also
>> when instituted this thing
>> to say to announce what you're taking
for
I remember my brother called me from Tel
Aviv like you had to announce
you feel was a new thing but this time
back to the story we weren't sure where
we're going to make it so I came up
and
I announced
the whole thing without mentioning where
and
as I'm walking back to my place the Reb
says
they have to realize by by
announced right away do some
You decided on the spot
>> here in 770
and from then all the CM in 770.
>> Mhm.
>> From then
you can mean that like there's 15 people
announcing and everyone is saying
something here. I just kept like where
it's going to be and
>> so that's when it started everything in
770.
>> 770
>> and also you started giving mashka every
time. Oh, so the mashk every time is
like this.
This went on from Tshi Mandal for five
years till Tshime.
It was Shabas saying is like this year
Shabas after
the end of the said
which was although one safer I missed
and the first Fabangan that I came after
I missed the for
on this. So I realized right away that I
missed uh
uh safer
and I announced both. Now the c
And seems like the Reb was satisfied.
And so that was one time in Alo because
I missed a safer. But this was a year
later hast me
and the Reb said to make a
to make.
So was a bigish but I remember before
came and said you have to make
>> ask what
>> if if practical to make it was a big
>> so what's the question if you should do
it from then on
>> no if we should make then
>> but the said to do it
>> said to do
So I
>> He saying grown if this is the
>> Yeah. To find out
>> practically.
>> Mhm.
>> So he had his office in the Reb's house
in the back. I went over say
asked about it.
>> Yeah. After actually making it, I
remember I ran in the bakery was open 24
hours.
Beautiful.
And uh
I think Pen and like Bimmer again and
again the Reb said to make us see him.
So made I gave him
and
me.
You want to hear a little bit more?
Okay,
it was after Ding second day
and the Bishia Pinson made all the
roses, the regular roses
and
all the regular announcements
and the Reb is still staying.
When the Reb doesn't take the sid means
he's waiting for another announcement.
So people said that he didn't announce
the
he should have announced
something like that. So the Reb was
waiting and he finished and he didn't
know.
So because of his of every week he was
so used to he announced.
Now this is Y five after one.
>> Was it Shabas?
>> It was also Shabas. Shabas
>> but it was Yumpt five after one.
Everybody reminded him he should
announce the fabangan
of after Mina and he announced 1:30
1:30. The whole place started laughing.
The Reb took his sitta walked out. Two
minutes later, Rabba comes out from the
Reb's office and he says Fabang 130.
So you'll see the there's two Fabangans
that
>> whatever because it was announced
there's there's a Faban
>> and after the first the Reb called over
Rabbi Groner
told him something and he left
Fabang
Groner left.
>> Yeah. He came back mameish two minutes
later
a bottle of Smeirnov like a liter
bottle. He put it on the table. I
remember as soon as he put it down the
Reb started the second
what was the second
in since there's a sem being made on the
completion of every
safer.
So from today
he wants that there should be a safer on
every al which means instead of 14 times
on the there should be 83 times
since there's someone that he makes the
sum. So he should come up and he should
start even today between the two
fibbrangas and continue
and the main one tomorrow night. Then
the say is that when the reb
>> and they was talking about you there
someone that does it
>> and he's so he'll be able to
>> in this in this
>> and the rabbi gave the mask
so the rabbi gave
So the whole thing of
for every but that's why I said that
I've also started chabas after
>> slowly
>> yeah and we made and then
the next shabas after I'm standing in my
place rabbi gron would come in like a
half a minute before the reba said hint
So again the delay that the reb is
giving mashka we never gave in
and since then the reba gave every week
except one week. So you you would give
in already battle before
>> later we started giving in already and
then Rabbi Gro would ask
said whoever sponsors is also about the
Mashka
and
so uh
you're saying there's a sem every week
besides one week. Oh, besides one week
because we started learning hilashabis
on the Friday. So a whole week there was
no seal. Next one was the week.
>> So from test there was only one
>> every week except one week they never
gave
>> what if there's two in one week.
>> So one bottle and we announced there
could be four also. There could be four
sum in one week right if it's small.
So we had to announce
and uh
>> and also they always took place in 770
from from that time.
>> Yeah.
>> From that time when they asked where is
where it is.
>> Yeah. From then all of them in 77
because the asked and wanted to know
don't you?
So this way it was once a month I had
time to sit down who spoke how many when
it started when it finished how many
people came what were this two three
lines on each speaker but here we made
Sunday and then Tuesday was another one
and then Thursday there were a whole
bunch of one after another so I remember
five pass I didn't give in
so I sat down and I wrote
And right away I got answer
was received a warm thanks
including the the happiness and the
that you caused etc. And then a whole
long brah.
So the Reb would answer this
and since then we made every
interesting
there was
the nine days the Reb said to make sum
but tough nun alf by the fabian the Reb
said that he wants not only in the nine
days but the should be continued till
so
became
>> became one organization.
Now
I always knew remember even when the
started the first in
that to make a
onishabove
out of
someone has to learn the first two of
and the third pic says since it talks
about
he learn
now Shabas. The Reb said it was Shabas
tishabove on tishabove and Sunday was
the fast day. So the Reb said that they
should make sum continue till
Shabas mo Shabas Sunday Monday Tuesday
Wednesday Thursday and Friday.
So I didn't expect it. So I didn't have
anyone prepared to make a sem on shabas
on Sunday
for all times. I didn't ask someone to
learn my cotton before and I made the
announcement. I made it very
I said
for museum
and whatever
turns around
like every day zik montik.
So I went right back and I said exactly
the words that said
I said exactly whatever said
after the
is was revealed. We didn't know before
there's a whole called
says in learned
right away the whole
made there was
but when I went up I didn't know that
it's practical
>> right
>> there was target
shabas mozzar shabas
Morgan
and since then
so 15 days straight there's a sem every
day. So if you make a 83
in
>> 11 and a half months plus 15
days over there. So it comes out to over
100 times a year. 50 weeks. It's average
twice a week.
uh see him
>> what happened with um there's a time
they made a inb gave the mashk to you
was the story over there
>> first year the spoke tiheim
was a bigb spoke again and again so
everyone wanted sum and
big ones small ones. The Fabian Udal
Nissan was Monday.
we made Sunday night
in 770
Nissan
and by the Fabrang
the Reb said that today we're going to
give Mashka only for those that are
making
before
Niss
and we didn't give him
again
>> so the main CM was After
>> there was the big one Manhattan
and there was
>> the
from the
learned to Morocco they brought in from
they did in the Rambam
and
so we didn't give in and for whatever
reason other people did go up and uh
they took the mashk and I'm standing
there. We were the ones that the Reb
said should take.
So after the Reb
they said uh the Reb picked up the
bottle. They said that's the bottle they
gave in. The Reba said you're making
before your doll or after because he
spoke in
they said they're making on. So the Reb
gave the bottle. The Reba turned to me
and said,
"I should bring a bottle." So he's
standing by the Reba and no one has
nothing. So
they figured the Reba that's what I
thought the Reba wants to pour from F.
So they quickly emptied out a bottle
and I brought a bottle a flesh and said
a fuller
a full bottle. I didn't have. So Rabbi
Groner had in his the small bottles that
he used to give for Koshov.
>> You had a backup in case.
>> Yeah. So he took out that bottle the Reb
gave and in this bottle the Reba did put
in from the fest mashk the mashk from
the lamb city
and 70 was packed packed Sunday night.
Beautiful scene. You have to see the
pictures. first team
>> all the we had the
six seven bid this year they all came
there was two head tables raonim and the
speakers and it was beautiful
Rabbi Shalom Gutnik from Australia Rabbi
Gash Mandel Gerelik from
from
>> Milan
there was Rabbi Gerali used to give a
shir Murali
Rabbi Salangi, Rabbi Bogamilski, Rabbi
Heber, Rabbi Shapiro, Rabbi Walberg,
who did I miss?
>> So these are old magad mag
was like a rot. It was
>> every day someone had to prepare and
give it to especially the first time you
learning everything was new. Yeah. Yeah.
They took it serious. The place was
packed. Today is already you learn 40
something times. It's much much easier.
You know exactly what
>> Yeah. It was a beautiful seem a
beautiful
big signs and this
>> and you're always in the yourself.
>> So I have a question.
>> It's my best hour of the day. I'm
serious. Like you're running here,
you're running there. You take one hour
8:30
I suggest everybody that hears this
should and another thing if there's any
day that I don't go to the sh for
whatever reason a simra or something you
come at night you take the raam and you
a question so you start looking in the
bottom then you can fall asleep it could
take you instead of 45 minutes a raam
could take you double or triple as long.
So you come to the sh like you said
close your phone and
any question there are so many people
listening everybody has answer on the
spot so it's mamesh for by far the best
hour of the day 8:30 and every
time we finish the threeim we learn of
used to print every week that Now his
son took over.
He prints every week for our
week printed and we learn
whatever let's say three chapters what
does it take five to 10 minutes. So
usually it comes out to about less than
an hour the whole sh.
So I have a question that when it came
to the other it came to
the asked
you know
wanted to know I mean it's not that's
not like a that's not negative but is
questioning
>> my question is
were there answers like that or they're
all
you know answers that were and or a lot
of times like I told you
Ben the date
and
so I don't know if you know but the and
the mems
and blo
answers
she so we used to get all those answers
I'm saying the clawless answers many
many times.
I gave him the we're having a see him in
the suka.
One word
>> out of my memory
writes
underlined
underlined to make peace in the world.
There was a lot of like I'll tell you
something else. I remember
I used to give in
not such a big massuda but Friday before
Shabas like after
sometimes the mid would come to the
box. I always tried before Shabas.
So I remember
would take the mid
fold it right here and put it on top of
everything.
Not like he wanted it never should open
up with a gut suras. So that I remember
always seeam and put it on top of all
the
>> everything else
>> on top of all the papers.
>> So everyone
>> times a day pages.
So everyone knew that has tremendous
from the right.
We're too small to understand what this
is. But the Reb really liked it. the
Fabangans. The fact today you come in
some 70 there are 10 birthday parties
every night and Fabrangans and Madan or
people
come down and they say oh we remember
that that twice a week we could come in
and really have like a meal and
it's the and the
the
environment and the fabian TBI saw much
more than what we saw and he really
liked it.
>> Mhm.
>> There was a uh
a senior center called Queens Senior
Center in Caesina,
a Jewish woman. She liked very much to
pushes Kite and she
invited we should come for a
for a program.
So I came and I spoke uh spoke about
Mashiach.
I told him about the the six day war
when it was such a scary time and the
reb came out
of
and
there was the big
six day war victory
on and on the Russian said
they should build houses and all of a
sudden the iron curtain M
everybody came out and instead of having
all these houses that I spoke
>> they did build then 42 houses I think
they lived in tents and caravans and
parks and and the Gulf War said Israel
is the safest place 39 missiles fell and
not a single ye was killed from the
missiles
And the Reba said, "Israel is the safest
place."
And then I continued that not only that,
but hundreds and hundreds of people come
every Sunday
to
the Reb for
and everything the Reb says is words
from
someone asks for a child that ever says
the boy will be born. There was a boy,
there's a girl, a girl. They gave two.
It's twins, three triplets. They're
thinking all about.
One of the sen seniors get up
and he says, "Rabbi, how dare you say
another word?"
Then he starts screaming mameish
nonstop.
What was he screaming? He says that his
whole family is the only one saved from
the Holocaust.
He came to America
got married and he only has one
daughter.
She comes home and she says she wants to
marry a Is his whole family he's
the only one left and he has only one
daughter
and she's going to marry a He was
completely broken. He did. He said he
tried everything to convince her.
Nothing helped. Finally friends told him
that whoever has a problem goes to the
770 and the Reba solves every problem.
Says he went 770. He was screaming. He
stood four hours in the line. Came to
the Reb. He told the Reb's problem.
Sister Eba told told him, "Don't worry.
Everything will work out as it's
supposed to and you'll see it."
She married a
She has children from the And
you're getting up here and say that the
Reba never made a mistake.
That was screaming and screaming.
Finally he said and not only the rabbi
all orthodox rabbis
to get at keg I don't know why but here
I interrupted him I said what do you
have against all orthodox rabbis
so he said
that when he
went to divorce his wife the mother of
this daughter no rabbi wanted to do the
get
so I said why not
Why not? Ah, they said that she was
converted
by a conservative rabbi, so they can't
give her a get. They give her a get.
That means she's Jewish and she's not.
I heard this. I told them, "Here's your
answer." What did the Reb say? Don't
worry. Everything will work out as it's
supposed to and you'll see it.
A Jew is only someone born to a Jewish
mother or
gets a special and here she wasn't
Jewish, the daughter wasn't Jewish. Why
did the Reba tell him? Don't worry,
everything will work out as supposed to
and you'll see it. So, I was the one
that uh
explained to him the end was
after the whole class everybody heard
and this and
comes over to me and says, "You know,
Rabbi, you're right. She wasn't Jewish."
on his wife, the mother, the daughter.
When she would get drunk, she would
scream on me, "Dirty Jew." She wasn't
Jewish.
>> But here you see
by every person, even though everything
looked opposite, like when he started
telling the story, it was like, "What
are you going to do?" And he has to
people travel last night by the I said
the story two came
they asked me what so I told him that I
once went to Montreal
this was summer nonfr
every hour the pile of tetl would Oh,
I was going to Montreal with a whole
family with an old car and I was
debating should I ask a bro or not from
one hand
whole family old car a trip from the
other hand so what I'm going to bother
him was between camp and school
decided just to give him the names of
mantra so it was Sunday afternoon
uh
M was 3 days after I was born.
>> And I wrote I wrote the names. It was
Sunday afternoon about 7:00 after
dollars. I put it on the girl's drawer
door.
I go to Montreal
and uh came home from Sh. Rabbi Gro
wants me to call him. I call him back.
says
no settle first in Montreal
and the Reb answer on this. What did the
answer
many of
the custom or don't drive noagim in
quotation marks the word noyagim
and saying the traveler's prayer
exclamation mark and maybe you'll return
its crown
to its full strength and in both
countries. I was going from the United
States to Canada.
Okay, I got the answer and then right
away I was thinking where did I say
because I was brought up by my father
was a whole big stop and
eating a piece of cake and making and
standing with the was a whole I always
said
but here I was thinking where did I say
I'm think I didn't say alter it I gave
him the settle that I've answered
saying it's open open.
So I used to publicize. I went onto the
bus that goes every night to Montreal
and later I meet up with the driver
should say it with everyone. They used
to call me the
and
Rabbi Rasin called St. Luke brought in
the bus
with 50 children for
so because of this he wrote the he
brought in 50 children and we said with
them
on the way. The Reb answers him when you
bring in the bus of children at night
you have to say with themish
that was what he didn't do saying you're
talking about
someone that was here in those years
every
like you could communicate with the
bylang just by thinking what you want
what
and then this was often
someone that was here those years
remember people would hold the cup out
by a fabangan like this
as if the Reb doesn't see him other
people
like between the I would people the mish
be looking into the between a certain
person I remember he would say if he
just picked up a cup the would pick up
and answer him right away. saying he
picked up once for a sen
I the other guy is having his cup right
in front of the and holding it up high
was
so here also like everything you saw how
everything was open
the said now Mashiach is coming get
ready. It's any moment.
>> Amen.
