I have never ever seen a dance like
that.
And there was jumping.
I mean the gosh how there's
there
jumping. I will not forget at one point
I saw the reb's shoes in the air. He was
jumping so much. If you've been enjoying

I'm Yasi Cayman. Welcome to among
an ongoing fabin about life as aid our
vibrant connection with the rebba an
inspired living shaped by the way he
teaches us each and every day.
Okay, fine. So, we're move. So, now we
have uh
which is everyone's
only the first day,
>> right?
Um
again before
meas
those days were quite unevent uneventful
I would say
um
>> before oh you see the
>> when there were changed and
>> you didn't see the
>> changed didn't see the reba too much
>> so now we get
>> okay so now we get to the highlight of
>> at least in my view
>> but I want to go over uh whatever The
first time I came to the rabbi was day
after.
>> Mhm.
>> It seems like there started on Yuanhaga.
The day after Yam
they were started to go to the oil.
So the day after every Yam
>> every Y
besides Rashana because it's didn't go
on a fast day
but um day after in Kipper there went to
Lav. So I remember when I came to Saudi
so they said actually somebody picked us
up from the airport and said then
already done was in the aisle already
went home so we're not going to see the
that night.
So first I saw there was
but uh and there went
also and from then on I think all the
years from the after would go to
so um
um described I mean I described it in
the the forerunner for the hair
>> the original
my first 24 hours by the Reb was like
whatever it's interesting I think I
think it's archived you get online I
think anyway
seeing the first time my father admitted
to me when the reb came into me he was
looking at me not not he wanted to see
my reaction
but uh funny thing is I'd never seen a
video then a film of the reba before I
came to the first
so I'd never seen they were walking or
anything. I saw pictures but I never
seen a
a video.
So I see they're walking in downstairs.
So all the will be downstairs besides
from
Chris also started to be downstairs
during tish you know the big island.
It wasn't hard to ask the rabban says
that I noticed through the years because
I remember one time a bus of tourists
came. Half the bus was boys, half bus
was girls. I don't think they were from
but they asked the girls in the in the
bus. So the rebbit down downstairs even
though it's quite empty but it wasn't
hard to ask the reb to down there was an
excuse downstairs.
or even the you know hats the down
because I'm big island
anyway um so the reb
came into
remember seeing there but the first time
I would say he looked different than I
ever saw the reb before though after
that I mean before I didn't see but
after
his face seemed like glowing it was like
I don't know it was different look
and there goes this place put some guard
battle during Ashri. Not sure when that
stopped. I think after
>> I discussed this on a different podcast
with someone. I don't think we came up
with an explanation but had this hug.
>> Yeah.
>> Put on the greed
that would come in with a gle on
>> then only.
And um
yeah, I'm going to cut out a few
details.
Have to go through every single detail.
They're just seeing seeing the right
after Mina
turns around
and goes up to Ardesh touches the paras
and Freen le freighen the photographer
was there that was his first year
first year's official uh photographer.
>> Mhm.
>> So the as saw him standing there next to
a beautiful smile and I see you know you
have to learn the hanhagas. I see the
Reba smiles. Everybody smiles. Anyway,
the Reba walked. There was going and
somewhere near the Bimma in the middle
of the shuddly stops. It was stopped.
Everybody ran over there. By the time I
got over there, the was already out of
the sh. But the Reb asked Bakar who's
taking pictures.
Tanya, how much Tanya do you know about
Balpe?
I mean we went on went over there and
heard him tell you asked me if
this is an English guy you want like
another American
eight years later spoke about it
I asked him if he learned
photograph
Maybe I don't remember that one.
>> No, but this is this is like
this a few times.
>> Yeah, but this was like about it.
>> Okay. It's referring to that time.
>> Okay. Eight years later speaks about it.
>> There's a video walks in
>> straight over the land.
>> Yeah. That morning. Yeah.
>> Yeah. The morning.
What's interesting that ask the person
who's holding the phone the camera not
the one who's holding the video.
>> Interesting.
>> Personally I feel that video
you have more to learn. One of the
things says you took a picture yesterday
took a picture the day before why you
take a picture again. What are you going
to get from it? So don't hug us which
people um they write down they saw such
an unhagger different unhagger but what
do you get from just taking a picture
again? That's what there was. So I don't
know my own when it comes to videos
there was not so against it because a
video does have a
>> you know there's something more you
could learn from
>> it I'm thinking about them theorizing
about this more there was opposition
from the for pictures and
was told
but video
>> so there are mentions in that about
>> right but video later when uh and Kinsky
wanted to start the videos. I mean and
was doing the videos in I think liked it
>> even though in that also there was says
satellite.
>> Mhm.
>> Didn't say the didn't say in a positive
way.
>> Mhm. I remember when I uh held David
Kinsky I think it was you know the one
who started gem and he was like uh or
maybe it was freedom one of them anyway
one of the family was saying uh the
first time they have mentions a
satellite wasn't positive
>> publicly yeah
>> yeah so like
anyway so I was just saying that this
what happened that first men I mean I
was there that night there was between
and it's the last time it was at tunic.
Okay.
So my father asks client could you go to
so says you just came you already wanted
to go to but later later years I found
out it was an
>> before and afterwards. No no no no be
first you hear and then you go to
>> even the first the bak who came before
and they wanted to go to as soon as they
arrived and the freed said after shabas
and they were wondering and
simpson then he explained he said shabas
the
now we don't hear we don't hear the
Indian shout first comes and then
So maybe that was the Indian La didn't
have that year because our ticket was
the day after is there was no way we
could change it. So um we're talking and
um my father's asking was there was
nothing to do already we there was
already he's going to the
so I didn't have but the point because
of that my father sent me the next year
for so another
>> because you didn't have
>> because I didn't have then so
>> I came the next year so I had
>> just by yourself
>> yeah I mean yeah I went to room by
I was twice
and
very short but was
um
up to so
that night was
so I remember the discussing if the
um usually afterb would come at 1:00 in
those years but because go to the
because it's So mama will come at 12
o'clock and they were right. I already
told you before about the the goal. So
I'm not going to but mentioning I'm not
going to repeat it again. And that night
was never came back from
whenever we came back from the from. So
the there downstairs till the end of
there would always be a break between
even though Mina was late was after
but nevertheless there was always a
break between
after
mandal that change started together
and even shabas by faban if it was late
also together that's a new hanog started
el mandal model.
Uh so after MA there went upstairs to
his room and there was media that the
mira will be I think 9:15 whatever and
then a courts of faban usually a courts
faban meant two hours bar two two and a
half
excuse me
um
and uh I told this already before about
when I said first time okay first timer
they said anyone wants all to go to um
especially to show that in the world so
should go and beus
so to show that wherever he is he's
comfortable he's so especially should go
to all the different places
then going to
be another
Reb stood up by and then the gave out
dollars.
It's the first time getting dollars from
the Reb. I mean kissed. So I went over
by the time I went over in the early
years of dollars by Fabangan. It would
still be in the middle of Fangan and the
Tankist would go around and give
dollars. It was hard
to climb over the people and especially
I wasn't used to it. When I came to the
revis gave me a pack of dollars, but as
soon as I went off, somebody says to me,
"Everybody has dollars already. Take for
yourself and uh give me the rest. I'll
get back to mosquito." Cuz
there were loads of takist.
>> Mhm.
>> And I tried to squeeze back inside. It
was a interesting um
and the Reb said to a few to whistle
remember you'll see two from is next to
me and he's whistling I think said two
one after another to whistle by the
third niggan he's still whistling he has
his eyes closed he's whistling with all
his kayak and the looked at him and
smiled
he was like in a different world
anyway then the said um like sing going
out of gus
started and stood up and made
a very wasn't very unusual in those
years but it was still an interesting uh
thing
that's already the night before sukus
and sukus used to be a peaceful once
before was
the Only real frail night was the second
night sukas. Besides that it was um
>> why the second night? Second night is
always for
was a moment thing officially. The
second night of sukas is because in
miglash.
>> So the second night was always loads of
herangans
used to fang the
always big fang. The house where I was
staying. remember was uncle so he used
to come to that suka always for ring
and um anyway so um I remember just uh
the second night every time most times
when there came in that sukas they were
saying
and there came in there was some on the
way to his place and start
it was second night sukus they were
singing
and there comes to his place or puts
down the s turns around started clapping
turned around to the was like wow it's
like a really exciting
very unusual that a regular
did like that later but did that every
that was uh they see because of what
happened afterwards and there wasn't
with
that was unusual but even also there did
that
and um
trying to remind myself now but
and there's every
especially before
so one of the time is
and there comes in it's you look the
video it's on the tishary video of it
which gem came out gave out the black
and white one there's a phr video but
it's not that good the black and white
one push focuses on the reba you see the
reb is seriously happy it's like hard to
explain is serious for
>> that's the
>> but that particular thing I mean that
looks like what the reb looked like on
that shoulder slightly as he's clapping
and and as turns around niggan's over
and huff used to be the same way turns
around then niggan's over hakaf is over
>> general is
>> yeah niggan
>> they say Not sure why
>> they say one of these gimmel maybe early
lammed say was upstairs
came into
and seeing Allahb got up on his chair
and for 10 15 minutes they say whoever
was there will not forget it people
saying ah I missed it I was there and
that but everybody remembers that
>> I think it has something to do with the
the with the niggan
>> I don't know what I'm saying
>> I mean you could say a bunch of Even
if the drummer really liked what the
like it also works very well musically.
I don't know like I don't know
>> it's a very
>> I thought about it over the years like
what's what's this niggan
>> I wouldn't know why but anyway that's
but there's a bunch of like so also
is one of the nonim that um
sing it by hakafus one of the nonimony
>> mhm
>> um
where's the others not too many more the
hakafas but that
change the sometimes it ever changed it
especially when he danced by himself in
the later years
um but generally I say sukus was a
peaceful I'm not going to go into the
second night
was a strange thing it ped from the
second night of sukus it poured until
part almost did not stop raining I don't
remember a single meal we were able to
eat was like run in with your coat and
eat asked and go out. It was push
pouring the whole time. I said settle
from the rebound and it's printed.
>> Yes.
that
somebody asked how could you have the if
you if you um was such a mat of raining
and it says in the Mishna
so how could you have so said since you
already made the
also say even though it's raining
say
so
was pouring the came in said aloud
So should hear you say even though it's
raining
also said if inside right
>> so there says since you're already said
that day so it can't be that the doesn't
accept your sitting in the
it's the discussing it's hard to
understand this because we do continue
also whatever it's
>> I think that year they did they didn't
they didn't eat but they
>> yeah whatever
>> inside
>> actually hasha knight
>> I think someone was describing a mend
and he was head out I heard that
>> the hash knight
so after so announces because the sent
all over somebody suggest
bring here so I wasn't there you know my
friend was a young boy my my father took
me home to sleep I have to tell him but
the guys went into the suka so I bring
it's pouring and they say before the
went home they would go home shab would
go home by shak
so the looked inside the suka and saw
ranging and the said
>> mhm
>> anyway so it was raining so much the
shina the reb gave out leak next to his
room
>> and not in the suka.
>> So I got lucky next room.
It's the only year that happened was
push pouring. later years it happened
>> on rabba
>> I think no wasn't that the room
>> don't think I mean I don't I have to
check I don't know
>> okay
>> but usually usually the came up with
this okay
>> okay one of the integral components of
being aid are the
whether it's
alfiss or gimmos these days give us an
opportunity to connect with ourim to
connect with each other and be better.

>> so you're
from till
>> I just want to mention one more thing
was interesting um
second day sukus
so the first they use of an
um the reb would always stand and wait
until does their hakafa
and then they would start continuing to
down. So the Reb would first go make and
every behind the Reb but there would
stand and wait every single day they
would always look
all the years. So we're standing it's
waiting the khazen he didn't know or
whatever the reason was he screams
landas the meaning is that you put back
the cifer
and as you put him back he scream the
khazan screams landas and everybody else
repeats the pock
and here he scream mandas and there was
this big in his hand that returns to him
like what are you doing
so that was uh when the island finished
going around the bimma so the himself as
turns turns around there started himself
she
like unusual
anyway uh you see okay let's go with
some
as I said so was um
peacefully then till
I remember um
whatever Um Jacobs called me up the
first time and said describe was the end
of the
maybe not so much the end zcribe
tish for no problem I'll describe t
speaking about
comes to susta
he's interviewing me on the phone I said
I can't describe susta he left me alone
the next year he calls me again he says
you have to help me nobody wants to talk
about sustri
I said you know I'll try as much as I
can but it's indescribable
so I I usually give the three
and I say very
brings down
explaining the
I said the first time he was by the
alterb used to do hakus first by himself
with uh says the family and
then you'll come up to the whole so the
alter himself said the whole
he was like for the whole and he was kaz
for every
writ
I started to have a little understanding
what a yid must have felt felt like when
he went to the mikdash le
the first time I had such a
understanding
that's a one one Indian another Indian
I'll tell you like this there's a say
had a
what about
had a dream who had already passed away
he came to him in the dream so who's in
this world says how is it up there he
says very good
to
So this wakes up he's wondering what do
you mean shabas and see
he thought to himself like this it says
shabas is
so by every person shabas is of his when
you come to
he invites you to his shabas his maba is
more than your whole
>> I was thinking the same thing the rebba
invited us into his
and that's probably maybe whatever the
reason why you can't describe it. you
push it, you felt like you're in a
different there's certain times that
people tell you that or even the moment
you're getting a dollar from the reb
you suddenly in a different dimension
time has a different meaning over there
everything has a different meaning so
the reb has this the invited us into his
his
printed in I think it was a book called
um what
articles just articles from people about
the I don't have the book but I saw in
the article somebody writes like this an
Israeli um
you know
>> reporter
>> reporter so he writes like this for
years I've been hearing that you can't
describe
now I'm a reporter my job is to describe
things until one year I decided I have
to go there just to describe.
But what should I tell you? He says,
he's writing this in his article. He
said, "What should I tell you?" It's the
first time I see something you cannot
describe. What shall I tell you? The
describe the bleachers of the bakim up
to the ceiling jumping up and down.
Should I describe to you the
way the niggan? Nothing. None of this
will give you the the atmosphere the the
the a which there is
you can't
he said first time in my life I see
something you cannot describe and I'll
tell you something else when I was on
to come
he's uh he tells me for whatever reason
it was one year he was here some say by
the
he said when he saw some by
He says and he asked surely how could I
prevent my son from experiencing the
same the same experience. He says he
traveled specially to the rebba another
time. I figured that was sim whatever I
travel to the reb especially just to
give my son the opportunity to be by the
rebus
I don't know it's a kite whatever but
understanding feeling
>> it was amazing just to hear that from
him
>> I mean after saying that you can start
explain describe whatever you can
describe you can't you can't describe
some by the I'd say most years you know
before the reba comes in the night of
I mean it's all the same
they go into different differences
basically um would be at 7 7:30
would start 9:30
after started at 9:00 same thing with
they try to make things a little easier
to the half hour earlier but in general
I'm describing they were coming into
hakafas which is more
So a lot of the years that I remember
was 10
in the later years. So generally they
would sing um
[Music]
so there be a circle people dancing once
it got fuller there is no room to dance
people you know singing on the place and
the comes in and make a shrill for the
come through and there is m comes in
with a sther everybody I've spoken to
says the same thing you know usually the
comes with a sther he puts down the s
every reme
puts down his sid with both hands
to doing and the Reb turns around. Hey.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And suddenly the
whole 770 is like one stick. It's not
separate people anymore. Everybody
controlled by the Reb's hands by the
Reb's movements and everyone's together.
It was amazing feeling just all
together.
And then there starts atarisa. I mean uh
there was scream ata the recording there
is from mashik from the is nothing
compared to that.
>> Well now we have another recording.
>> Yeah.
I don't know if it's I'm sure it's not
Loratans. I don't know should mention in
public or not but the the the way there
was a
that you could hear the reb over most of
the sh
was screamed so loud I remember people
even saying I wasn't here but the people
saying the way the reb in the beginning
was screamed ata also always
is loud comes to it's like way louder
and then after each
night and dayb
say the karata three times that's a
letter from rash to the rebba asking the
rebba to continue saying
>> oh so that the letter is to continue it
>> yeah that's if I remember correctly
>> I thought I thought I remember that it
was like okay interesting
>> I thought I thought it's asking there
would continue Okay.
>> Say the people have been saying that
they used to add a posum
on there.
>> Sometimes Yeah. Sometimes no.
>> On Hakl.
>> Yeah.
>> But then they figured out it was only
one time that they ever added on Hak,
>> right?
>> So maybe the other times because of the
interesting um
they printed um they printed the
hakafus, you know, to give out everybody
should have copies. They put that in.
>> They put it in didn't say it. I remember
did not say it.
>> Anyway, then to go to the first
go, go to the middle. Whoever was close
by would wishb
they say main reason people would say
that. So the reb should say gamatim.
>> One time by day.
>> It can't be for the ask it for yourself.
We're all uh we want to cash in as many
brahas as we can.
>> Yeah.
>> So, one year I actually kissed the
secretary while I was holding it. By
day, by day was less people.
>> Some of day was less people and by
night.
>> By night was like
I remember the first time I was there
trying to catch a place. I got the most
dangerous place in uh Lamov. It was
between the Russians and the Frenchies.
danger zone
was a little closer to the Russians
in the middle night sh also in the
middle of the no one of the
They're there. Next second they're not
there. They all jumped down and they
landed on top of one bucker. Had to get
oxygen. Before lad used to be near the
in the middle where there would dance
two huge bottles of oxygen the green you
know whatever you call them
>> metal. Yeah. Labelki standing next to
them. It was like they had to give
oxygen. This baka was like and I see one
baka standing there. The ventures are
empty. You know, suddenly go they all
clear cleared out went to the hakafa and
they see one bar minus his hat minus his
jacket minus one shoe. He bends down,
picks up two titets, rolls them from
business pocket. They were wild those
guys.
Anyway,
the Russians had from one of the beams
on the window of the vibes inside. He
had a rope. So the last guy because it's
a drop so they had a rope there to hold
on to
>> the equipment.
>> Everybody had their own at those years.
I don't know why they would block the
Kingston vibes. So if there's any ladies
in there, they couldn't see a thing.
But I was on top. I had my sweater on
because the air condition was blowing
right onto me. So I turned it you know
the flaps should close somewhere else.
So I said, "What are you doing?"
Everybody don't close it there. I'm not
closing. I'm just turning it like
freezing.
>> Was good. I mean,
night
comes in. It was quiet and turns around
and then remember the roar of the crowd
like
began.
um what should I say
before fabang before hakafus I don't
know I was there for first time but my
father whatever I sat down with my
father on first table nish opposite the
rebba
came we didn't go to I didn't even I
don't know if I knew about it or not
doesn't make a difference I was there
it's the only time I saw the kdesh by
night
came in he made kdesh so I suddenly
realized
I see the Reb like sitting or holding
the kais and suddenly I see the going
lower. So I guess the was like sort of
on his knees. He wasn't sitting.
>> He didn't want to stand. No, the whole
>> kdesh.
>> He didn't want to make the whole stand.
>> You thought was sitting.
>> I thought he was sitting. So you see
they were going lower.
>> Made kesh
very frail
explained. Usually playing. So and um in
middle of fabangan says to
all of
uh in middle of the says
uh should sing a niggan of Medina with
words from Medina.
So they started singing from seven and
seven they going out there didn't move
as if they're not singing. So they
realize doesn't want that niggan.
So they're quiet. I guess the discussing
what niggan to sing. So the looks to
Barl Zman Zman Zish.
So he sung a song. I don't know the
words were short. No. He sang in
Russian.
And there was a little bit. And after he
finish in Russian, they have to sing
something in English.
So there was no from the finally I start
singing just one just one sh just one
and we sing I knew the words from a
different song from England I didn't
know the tune it's American tune Yankee
Doodle
>> okay
>> I I didn't know the song and so I'm
trying to catch the tune as opposite me
is old old on the other side of the
table zing zing I'm saying the word I
don't know the I knew the words I don't
know the him. The rep was clapping. Was
wow. Mish clapping.
And then
um
said to sing a song in French, a French
song with French words
was the Reb always used to show him to
whistle.
>> So I had to him. He had a huge hat. Then
he was like sort of a leader of a group
of uh Frenchies next to him. So the Reb
is right. Looked at him. They sung the
national anthem with an extra piece
which I hadn't heard before. It wasn't
in the
right
>> they added it later.
So they saying that they sang the
>> sung the whole anthem with French words
and there was there was like that
and there was a niggan of mama
but not as much as the first not as much
as English one
>> the English one. Yeah. Not as much as
English. Well, there was
says
of
his aim.
So I figured there
before he said mama
is aim.
So the mother of all languages. So I saw
it to his head. And it came the end of
heran. So you have to announce that
everybody should leave the should leave
the shul to be able to set up for hakus.
>> At that time was no kdesh yet. I think
that started in mala and something like
that
came maybe
>> a kdish after
>> kdish between fabangan and
>> office which still does it till today
you know.
>> Oh
>> yeah. So um anyway the so he got up the
old Telvki to announce I guess it's a a
tradition in Labavage before you make an
announcement sha
I don't know exactly what happened at
that moment I didn't notice but I see
label grown telling him to get up onto
the table like he's okay he got up on
the table he starts again
says
he starts again says
say three times.
>> Okay. Just like he was the cousin for
always. So he say
three time each time this was a raise
your voice really
[Music]
and the is smiling the whole time. So
while all this is going on there was
beautiful smile then he announced we
should go out and then there was you
know that's the only time I heard the
sing this is no recording but today
hey left it's the only time I ever heard
that singing this without words just
>> you heard that I was singing it
>> I heard they were singing without
without words
>> they sing in front of in front of the
>> yeah those times They heard the Reb
singing it himself
and that there became Tacus.
So
I mean I'll get into some of them but
one of the uh
um
okay at the end of
so instead of the reb going out the way
came in from the sides of the tables
they went in the middle of the tables
towards the where he danced. So he comes
to end there's a table in the way which
seemingly there will do that every year
until ladas.
So I I don't know I was dream for a
second and one of my friends says look
look and I see the re is like climbing
up onto the table seemingly the reb
pulled a box from under the table stood
on the box stood on the table. So
suddenly the tables are quite high but
stepped up onto the table and as the
rebbit jumped down and as he jumped down
he went like this
and so they I don't know what nigg it
was but
>> it was blocking the rabbit
>> the table cuz the reb walked to the
middle so the table's blocking the reb
>> so the stepped up they say other years
the rebel like swung himself over but
the heroes box stood on the table and
jumped off but I remember as he's
jumping off the went like
And then they had to slip rash the Yemen
and label slip slip rashag over the
table.
whatever.
Anyway, that was llama 12.
Um
I noticed something interesting lava
during the day fabian
and um it's long faban and they're wash
say around 7 7:30 something like that
and uh I remember 25 to 1 cuz I was
standing behind there but then came a
little later so I didn't have a place I
stood behind and so I seeing the clock
the whole time like 25 to one bar there
started the mimer
It was like it's a long fang six hour
fang
in the middle of fang
was um one year over there his name is
uh is from
they say he was very very active in ms
film
so the reba told him quite a number of
times at one point I see the rebba I
don't know how the cup got to the reba
plastic cup the rebba opens the water
the picture of water which was for the
Reb. And the Rebel poured a little bit
of water inside the cup and the Reb
handed it to label fill up with wine
and
he gave it to Label handed it to
I guess this was the last cup.
He was quite uh whatever. So he stands
up
there with a big smile like sit down. It
was like it's very uh
at the middle of the I noticed something
again I don't want to be but there was a
whole ma that Rab once told us against
um
how the the reb once sort of explained
that the rabbain come to the
>> no no in general in general
you could look it up and uh he said then
they realized the first time the
straighten his tie would raise himself
up they realized and the ra are coming
so having heard that here I see
something interesting like at one point
the river is like clapping between
middle goes very fast
it's like almost you should notice like
a half a minute or minute later there
was
raised himself up I mean I saw many
there were many times passing from one
side to the others the other night he
didn't raise himself up
>> but here like half a minute after he
straightened his tie they raised himself
up so it tells you something
>> different and like that
>> among is brought to you by

Every every year has its own
first time there
in the middle of
then like I mentioned before the Indian
of the was going on.
So um before hak I think it is
so the turned around to cats who was
announcing the who should go to office
so the looked towards him started saying
something it looked like they wanted to
give him an instruction they came quiet
but started a sika instead the stepped
forward and started saying the sika
the whole officer was leaning on his
stander and his mid and here stepped
forward
It's a hak
basically said all should go to the
zing to show that belongs to belongs to
us belongs to belongs to Eden
in a sense I would say one of my friends
was saying it looked like the was paying
back for what he didn't do by the march
there was the march was so short he
there was like He did
mish but the biggest surprise was after
the finished
took his sitter the started saying the
so high pitched I don't know how they're
able to reach so high
[Music]
so high like mommy very very high scream
lips
and there was uh saying lips quietly you
with a small
and some people started to sing and some
people were shy you know so as soon as
finished
they started singing he did so much
there was actually a beard right in
front of the reb's ding and he was going
to the like this the whole time with his
hand so that made to him also very
strong a lot but it was very strong
hakafa
again even though it was a faban before
before hakus but in middle hakus again
before hakim.
So again the start and this time the
said that all those who are
um when the army the
all different types of
maybe all those are different types of
the Israeli army should all go to the
hakafa.
Then the Reb said again
in other words he was for that but the
Reb didn't go to the middle was on his
place they didn't know what niggan to
sing so after the finished
so started singing
um
wasn't here
whatever I mean was I think they were
the special ones.
>> I think your hakama was I think your
hakama was very important. Give the
context.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
Um I should I say mdalad
was a very interesting um
night. Usually
is like a little contained. The simka is
not all the way as big as usual.
Knight Tashin Malad there was like so
such
there was almost bent over double
yeah his hands stretched out for bending
and his hands stretched all the way
forward like
so afraid of the the hakas and the next
night the Reb spoke about it and the Reb
said that with that with um
with the alterb when when there was a
who should win the war.
>> Yeah. the altar if um Napoleon or or um
>> and uh it was the sign of Shim whoever
blows Kas first and they told the story
didn't say the name who was the other
just wanted to stress he was a person a
person so it's
says like
>> stressing and he says um so the other
this he told his people right away to
get there the fast and and when he got
to he picked the in his hand and he said
I remember there was saying this like
loud I the
like he did it first
>> did it already
was called and he he blew for what did I
say the the chaer should be before ding
just like lulv is before ding then later
you take it in dinging again so same
thing should be right in the way in the
middle then you blow again in Mos but
they stopped there was tako because the
Romans or whoever it was was getting
nervous
>> I think I
was reading I think it says you're not
supposed to do it that early
>> not supposed to do that early okay the
main reason
>> right
whatever you do it later yeah
>> yeah but the main reason is the said not
to because the the go were afraid of
making an uprising
>> right
>> but once you do it in the middle of
dinging you see it's part of a ceremony
It's not a an uprising. It's not a
rebellion. Anyway, that was the main
reason. But that went back to the
original thing and he blew first. So you
see from this says there, but sometimes
you have to be in before the actual
time. So here we will mock them before
the actual time of the so like weirdly
thing and to the end of this says
because the time before hakus so every
ye is able to to bench another ye so
everyone should bench and then at the
end
says
to to be um
to to
say's
And then he said and
said didn't say name
said
the next day they don't explain why he
didn't say the whole
only
said has to do more of the
bentures everybody
it was after between hakoffus between
forang and hakoffus everybody's going
around benching each other it was like
and this kiddish outside you know
everybody's eating there but people
going to each other and everybody's
benching benching each other was at se
I mean they were just benching they were
hugging each other also
>> there was like
that's one thing
I saw
>> it's an interesting thing that I'm
noticing from your
And everyone talks about the but I two
things you mentioned I mean the story of
the and also the way you started that
everyone felt like one
>> so it's like the type of the feeling of
brought out you know the
like it's it's
altogether
had this feeling which is
Yeah,
>> you're saying a mus that you saw.
>> I saw a mif. It was the night of
>> and uh it was before around time, you
know, the the the reb moved out
>> for place. There was two benches in
there
>> and I saw somebody suddenly scream
wasn't there yet.
>> So the the space for the skin was in the
front m
>> um no um the right side. I'd say Dorham.
>> Mhm.
>> And it was called Natsawa
Lab of the head of he was um
cuz he had something maybe a heart
attack whatever it was something
something was going on. I remember as
they were taking him out to the kids all
came they took him on a stretcher and as
he passed by them then I was standing
like
towards the front of the sh o I would
say opposite was ding in a sense to the
left side of kesh but near the first
beam so came out opposite
and as as they took him out and I see
Robert Lio's face he was on the
stretcher face white like a what should
I say like a white tablecloth like a
white shirt is white get oxygen on you
know any next part I didn't see
obviously but they say that they took
him into the ambulance and they reb that
he's not well and they have to take him
to the hospital the said don't take him
to hospital cuz I won't be able to take
care of him leave him here should be by
every deting every office everything
that night they didn't see him I don't
think he they brought him to office that
But from the next day, Davening Fabangan
everything he was there by the Fabangan
before hakus
they pushed aside two benches where the
sky would sit behind the rebba and he
was on there on a wheelchair behind the
rabbi
by um hakas
he's on the reba on a wheelchair. Now
the rabbis bimma would be I say wasn't
packed it was full of people you know
anybody who felt he had a excuse to be
there would be on the rabbis bimma they
would bend down so not to block everyone
it' be full like whatever and he's on a
wheelchair
a little past the not to block the he's
on a wheelchair in middle one of the
nigunim
and I see there was like looking through
the people catch his eyes and there
starts clapping towards him and some he
was
is his hands were hanging over the edges
of the of the arms of the wheelchair.
You know, it's like on his face is white
and there was looking for
like clapping towards him and somebody
pokes him like look there was looking at
you. So he looks up and there was no so
he starts clapping. I remember my eyes
popping out. I see part of his face
which is white starts to get red. He
starts to come back to himself.
A day after I saw him walking around
very saw this with your own eyes.
>> Yeah, I saw only I'd say the only time I
saw a mus with my own eyes. I like there
was making a mifus in front of
everybody.
Most people I talk to don't remember it.
>> Yeah, I never had this.
>> There's if you look in there's a yan of
that house story. And they don't have
the whole story. They just mention he
was seen reference asked about him.
Yeah.
One thing anyway. Um
M is actually the first time I saw the
Reb showing to whistle on Y. There was
somebody the whole coffers was whistling
on the
on the left side of you. I mean
>> it happened before
>> the bleachers. See, so the first time
you only I saw the rabb
>> but here at the end after it was after
already the end I said yet they return
to the wall they were show to whistle
that was like on I remember I was
talking to somebody on the phone after
yontiff I told them they were said to
whistle wow because in the famous
not
so here it's said to whistling okay some
was a big
>> the same thing as clamping.
>> Yeah, I don't know. It happened even
more than that base. There was one time
they were set to whistle on Shabasadesh.
It wasn't here then.
Anyway, um
was there told turned over the cup was
also scene middle of a coffus and that's
also the mishb of the was like looming
in the background you know
>> I can't say your mom was thinking of it
the whole time but in the middle of the
middle of fangan
there was suddenly turned over his cup
I can't say mish noticed this somebody
told me he sw like that to take out
every up but the Reb turned over the cup
and there was starts showing to both
sides like what does want they say yan
was the first cup and he turned over
whatever was next to him then the said
something about to empty the ka not to
pour out but not to waste it
>> then there's the the m the rabbit
afterwards
>> yeah then the reb um
the reb held the kisama for like an hour
a niggan everything and I think also
they sung
and there were there was holding the in
his hand
>> upside down
>> upside down and there was waving the
making there was explaining the there
was what's of cup upside down so just
like on the the
puts all the cups upside down what's it
upside down just like the windows of the
mash
light goes from outside. It's the same
way the hashb comes from the beam of
English to everywhere. That's why the
cups are upside down. So is the Indian
of he holding a cup upside down. Was
like next to me sh is next to me as I
was said. He goes, "Wow, like what a
beer explanation."
I remember in the middle I'm I'm saying
on my place where her was more on to the
reb's left
closer to the back of the shaw and I see
on the bleacher on the the other side
the arm side I suddenly happened to
notice
a kid the ber maybe he's 15 years old
something 15 16 around that age stop
he's he's holding a cup with something
in the nashka wine inside his cup. Are
you standing and holding and smiling
from the situation? And I think to
myself, you're supposed to turn your cup
over. What are you doing? There's no way
I can get a message to him. The split
second I thought that the like turn to
him when like an emergency
showing his cup showing the showing his
baka to him like supposed to be upside
down and the bak
by the way from where I'm standing I'm
standing on top of a high bench that
there was no mus by um before hakus was
especially there was no musk
and uh I saw from down there people are
bringing in bottles and bottles
I figure they said to empty the bottles.
It's maybe like off whatever. I saw
bottles all different kind of whiskey
and drumi and bent tea and saw like
bottles flying in.
>> So there wasn't a lot of drinking
>> generally not from the you know cuz you
want to see you want to know what's
going on.
>> Yeah. But here I think it was a little
more because
>> Samus was quite I say the I mean they
always was always
and
but me say there's nothing like me was
the last time I was here
nothing like me
>> everybody talks about
>> everybody one of my wife's uncles tanum
film Ali Tanam he said to me, I remember
hakafas from tshin dal. I said, I
remember the old years. There never was
hakas like never. I mean, it's
remembering enough from
never was like some say that the reb I
couldn't notice from where I was
standing. Some say they brought down an
old kapata which the threads were coming
out like ready for work. All I remember
is the first night but I don't remember
too much on the first night but the um
Rashag was complaining is was cold
always gave him the second
so this I was told later he was like
whatever uncomic
what's he want
go upstairs I remember they're taking
him out during a niggan between outar
races
And I felt bad for him as they're
slapping him out and the Reb starts to
be the the crowd was going like wow.
And um
and this is the first time usually a
would be five, seven minutes.
Every was 10 15 minutes. The am could
not keep up with the person felt it that
there was no there was eyes were
burning. He was like looking to
everybody and like slapping out of you
the which you never knew you had. It's
like it was
it's unexplainable.
Now the place where I was standing in
later years I couldn't see the reba when
he danced in the middle and mostly you
know I'd seen the reb a few times
dancing with rash
he did have kayak later years you know
dance for a minute
>> yeah it ran in one of the z that
basically cut it short
>> the cut it short
>> yeah it says like the like
>> don't want to be m whatever it was hard
for
>> it was very hard very hard to him
>> and even the first time I remember I saw
His Rashag is dancing his face is white
and like almost like catching his
breath.
>> Actually I heard from Rabbi Sodak he
said joining Kipper war they um by day
so the reb threw his talents over his
face and it was like fake. You see the
reb was not in this world and there was
like
yeah and and could he tried to stop the
reb but there wasn't in this world. So
this two guys pa went and held the rash
to help him go around
but generally it was very so the lady
years it didn't bother me to I sort of
had a place in the front so I would be
able to see the reb there so I was
standing as a whole bleacher I was at
the bottom of a bleacher but it was like
and the whole bleacher could all the way
in the front on the left side we
couldn't see the ribb in the middle
there was no chance so we're singing
we're not see you know don't see the
ribb suddenly They want to say look look
says what so I see over there on the one
side and everybody's screaming the faces
are red all the
>> that's how it works the people that saw
>> and then
>> and then I suddenly see they were all
catching their breath and the other side
they're red in the face they're
screaming
>> as a minute minute and a half and then
there was turning around see the was
holding in his hand
you know there was his father's name in
Must I don't remember exactly
but the other officer there made us work
hard. I remember there was eyes like
burning you know everybody said there
has blue eyes I never noticed it but I
mean there was like I remember black I
don't know there was eyes burning
but not sharp like I don't know pulling
pulling a was like looking at everybody
but the most which I can't forget is
after the seventh
and the came back instead of giving back
the I remember kan was Everybody tells
me I'm wrong, but I remember uh Kogan,
you know, from Len
>> which you just had feature article on
him.
>> Yeah.
>> Uhhuh. So um so I remember he was
standing there to take the safety from
the Reba and put it back in. But the Reb
came back to his place instead of giving
the capoter he went up with the cifhater
in his hand and he went up on his bimma
and the rebas
waited for the mashbakim whatever all
the guys on the reb's bimma to go down
bend down and the started
I have never ever seen a dance like that
and there was jumping.
I mean the gosh
push jumping. I will not forget at one
point I saw the reb's shoes in the air.
He was jumping so much jump. It was a
long I even look at the clock but it's a
long time this niggan and there was just
jumping and jumping and jumping and sa
to all sides and beinged
then after the niggan was over so Kogan
reaches forward he wants to get the
label on get away get away cuz he saw
there wants to sing another niggan
starting yet wasn't as much as
but still um Fre and then there were
takes to see
and he gives such a kiss. I've never
seen they were kissing anything. I mean
they were kissed film you don't see it
that much.
It was such a a I mean everybody who saw
it
>> you saw so you never seen a kiss in your
life. He kissed the tear
>> with his mouth before he gave it over to
Kogan.
>> I I never seen a kiss like that. It
brought tears to my eyes. I've never
seen anything like it. G such a kiss. It
was like you see the satire. It was
unbelievable.
Anyways,
guys told me later I was in I wasn't
able to be here. The guys told me if you
had to choose to be the last one. That
was a good choice.
Whatever. Anyway,
amen.
and
this year. Amen.
