So we are concluding the book of Tom Devor. Rabbi Mosha Cordo said that until here we have encountered the 13 character traits through which a person may resemble his creator. And um these are virtues of the highest kind of compassion and they are the sigula which means they are the choicest of all midot. Of course they are not easy but when a person can implement them even a little bit it's like a little diamond. Every little bit that we perfect ourselves is another diamond that we put into our crown. If you can think this way at least once, to think like Hashem, to think um in a way of compassion, in a way of mercy, that is already a precious diamond. and you gain it forever. This way a person conducts himself with the character traits of mercy down below and he's rewarded with that same character trait above. the same um attitude will be opened for him above that Hashem utilizes the character trait with us in the same way that we utilize this character trait with others. It is called mida mida measure for measure or a character trait for a character trait. If we treat others with certain character traits then hashem treats us with those same character traits. It's a reward but at the same time this is the law. The law of the spiritual world is that when we work on ourselves, we perfect ourselves, we improve ourselves, we purify our ourselves, then we clear the screen between us and Hashem. And the light that Hashem shines upon us doesn't go through opaque screen um colored glass but rather it goes through clear glass. The more pure we are the more purity um we receive from Hashem. The light is healthy. The light is strong and um when we remove obstacle from our heart that obstacle is removed from the screen between us us and Hashem. You do it on a small scale down here and Hashem pays you back on a tremendous scale. Just like it says, whoever blesses you will be blessed. Hashem gave this um blessing to Abraham. And from then on, whoever treats another Jew with respect receives respect. Whoever treats another Jew with compassion receives compassion. Exactly. The way you conduct yourself is how Hashem will conduct the world toward you. Not only that, he will cause that mida to illuminate the world, which means not only you will benefit, but everyone around you will benefit as well. Not only do you cause Hashem to react toward you with that mida, but you cause that mida to have an influence in the world. This character trait is activated by you down below and it begins to shine more brightly and Hashem has more compassion on the world because of that. That's how big the subject of walking in the ways of Hashem is. It's not only a small personal no one sees you scale. Yes, you are doing it privately between you and Hashem. You change your heart, you change your mind, but the effect of your personal work goes beyond you. It goes throughout the entire world. Your family, your neighborhood, your city, your country, and the entire world. So the more we become like Hashem, the better the world becomes. It's as if we are creating a place for Hashem down below. And that fits with the interpretation of the verse that we started with. This is my God and I will glorify him. This is my God and I will build a dwelling place for him. How both of these can be accomplished at the same time? I will glorify my God and I will build
