today we are going to learn some laws about upcoming holiday of pesach today we are going to go through the schedule the from the day before pesach until pesach itself this year pesach falls out on friday night april 15th therefore searching hamas is going to be on thursday night april 14th and we do the dikat hamid searching for hametz after nightfall which is about 20 minutes after sunset and that is about 7 53 p.m so after 7 53 p.m everyone should gather around they're the head of the family make the blessing and use a candle at the beginning and then you can switch to a flashlight search all the rooms all the coats pockets handbags closets as well as children's knapsacks and all the other places that you you think you may have brought comments into and if you have children you really have to search all the places in the house because children might bring food and unhide it anywhere then after you finish the search you do bitulhamets you you do a special proclamation starting with the words kolhamira and you declare that that all the hamads that i didn't see that i didn't find should be nullified you save some food for yourself for breakfast if you're planning to eat hamads on breakfast and then the rest of the of the comments you set aside to burn the following morning in the morning you can have breakfast with hameds until 10 15 am after which time we're not allowed to eat comets after 10 15 um and on and then right after you have to gather all the remaining pieces of hamads and bring them to a burning site and burn them and you have to burn them before 11 45 i'm sorry this is for ashkenazim 11 45 for sephardim it is 11 30. in case you missed your 11 30 deadline to burn comments you can still get rid of it or sell it or burn it um by 11 45 that is according to ashkenazim but you should try until 11 30. and if the time to burn past they put out the fire and you find comets after that you should just flush down the toilet now friday evening we light candles 7 16 p.m sunset is in queens is 7 34 p.m at which time we can no longer do any preparations for passover we cannot do any work for shabbat now the following night we do candle lighting again this time for second yom tov because friday night and shabbat is the first yomtov saturday night and sunday is the second yomtop so on shabbat you have to wait until shabbat finishes only then light yom tov candles so you have to wait the time that you usually wait after shabbat if you wait um 45 minutes so wait 45 minutes after sunset the earliest you can you can light candles is only after that time so it's recommended to light candles after 8 30 p.m on saturday night that is april 16th uh but if you keep rabbe no time you should light candles mozei shabbat for the second yomtov at 8 48 p.m or later and don't forget we do have dala within the kiddush of the second yomtov night now the the following week after the we have second days of yom tov the last days of yom tau but because it falls on friday and shabbat we need to prepare a roof tough shiling and a rooftop shelling is prepared whenever yomtov is right before shabbat because we are not allowed to cook on yomtov for the following day but this year it happens that right after yomtov is shabbat and we need to prepare for shabbat and therefore we prepare a rooftop shilling which means we start cooking for shabbat before yontov and because we started we can continue on yomtov so don't forget to prepare a rooftop celine on thursday of pesach the following week and for those that need i'm going to say what the blessing is for searching hamets and that is baroque you make this blessing before you start searching with a candle then you can switch to a flashlight you shouldn't talk about other things only things that relate to searching and then using relying on that same blessing we burn comments the following morning we don't repeat the blessing but after we burn hamas we recite kolhamira the nullification of comets second time after we burn hamids um anyone who is um who who forgets to sell their comments and then later finds out that they had comments that hamas becomes uh not kosher so therefore even if you don't plan to keep any comments at home and you try to get rid of all humans you should still sell your comments to nanju just in case you find the package of comments after pesach because you sold it it's permitted to be used afterwards and um one more halacha for erev pesach for friday before passover is that that day we're not allowed to eat regular matzah because we need to eat matzah by the pesach cedar with appetite therefore um we we we should make a pause and not eat matzah that day however if you need to eat what can you eat you can eat any other food of course besides hamets and not matzah can eat meat and and eggs and make soup and vegetables and fruits all the other delicious foods and if you need you can eat egg matzah especially for children ashkenazim are strict and they try not to eat egg matzah in the afternoon of the day before pesach but for sephardim it is permitted all the best [Music] you
