Songs of Our Heritage: Nigun Gaaguim - A Song of Longing

This is a vintage Chabad nigun, over 150 years old. A nigun in the chasidic lexicon is a melody, usually worldless, that one can use to connect inward with their soul. Meditative and soulful, it speaks the souls language, which can not be encompassed in words. On a Friday eve in 1934, Rav Moshe Tzvi Neria began singing this melody after Yedid Nefesh and the tradition has continued ever since. - Jewish music is the soundtrack to our lives. At every milestone, holiday or mitzva, it enhances and enlivens our experience and service of Hashem. #SongsofOurHeritage
