Behind The Scenes of a CYBERTRUCK Wrapping at InkIt!

guys I got to show what's going on over here I just got a fun call from inkit large format print specialist I actually I'm a good customer of them I'm using them for my for sale signs on my real estate business but the reason why they called me down is because they saw my re quick review on my cyber truck that I had um done a few days ago and they told me you think you saw the first one come over to my shop they actually have four cyber trucks booked for the wrappings so the interesting part over here is they're not only doing uh business rapping they're doing for personal people and here we have Leo one of the partners and he told me he wants to introduce what he's doing exactly with this cyber truck over here Leo tell us what you're doing over here thank you for coming and find so basically this is uh this is not a commercial this is not an a commercial rap it's not an advertisement uh this is just simply uh color change so it's a great way a great uh option for you to change the color of your car so explain what what do you mean changing I know cybertruck has only one stainless steel color which is just stainless steel why are they doing that why we are excited about the Cyber truck because um it's it's almost like a blank canvas uh Tesla offers it in just one color one finish and also some of the um some of the feedback that we've been hearing uh from people is the fingerprints uh because it's a raw uh stainless steel I see I see it still still do fit this is how it's stay we left this area here for you to see because we're GNA we're going to wrap this together for you to check out how it's done but because this car does not have any door handles oh I see and you have to press this button to open it you actually have to touch the the finish of the car and because of that you basically end up getting all sorts of fingerprints everywhere and that's one of the things that and you can actually see that here as well it's one of the things that the that the owners like the feedback that they've been given is that's one of the things that they don't like it constantly requires cleaning literally on a daily basis wow so it could literally change it change the color D color he's doing black it uh y protect it as well as uh as change it this looks so cool is Tesla okay that you're changing the color Tesla actually offers it um Tesla offers it they offer uh a paint protection version of of the wrap but paint protection is not really needed because there's no paint and because this is bulletproof so by the way talk about why aren't people painting it versus doing a WAP so painting in general I mean I'm sorry I don't want to ruin your business I know you're not doing painting but it's so painting in some cases is a great option but there's a couple of things so one is uh paint can uh devalue the the car it g it gives it uh it drops in value uh and it's permanent uh and then you also possibly while the car is still in warranty you can still have an issue where it may possibly void the warranty Wow versus wrapping exactly wrapping is a temporary thing it's uh it's shortterm it's something that you would use for 3 to four years unless you wanted to do other options like ceramic coating to help it last longer but it's a it's also a fraction of the cost uh if you were to paint this car you would probably pay three times or four times the price um our Cod changes for the Tesla cyber Tru is going to be $3,000 oh W that so yeah it's it's it's like literally um Pro I would say probably a third of what it would cost now in to Tesla's of $7,000 that's a huge saving so it's something that uh we do not uh it's not like anything inexpensive that's used it's actually 3M uh 2080 series uh which is the top level of color change films uh it's done professionally as well also it's much quicker than painting that's what you told me before it's much quicker that's that's correct I forgot to mention that it's it's within basically one day you would you would have the car you would drop it off one uh in the evening you would get it back the evening next day amazing okay Prime so I promised you I was going to show you how it gets done we left this section here for you to see so we're actually going to start applying it right now so as you can see uh this is less by the way uh Les is one of our professional installers um we removed the paper from the film in the back uh once we do that we go around and kind of apply it in in strategic lines and then tension the vinyl uh you we don't overstretch it though that's actually something that's not good with these particular films and as you can see that's when we start to uh to apply it this car is um definitely one of the easy ones let's just say that really absolutely with the straight lines uh there you know there's some other cars out there that are very complicated with curves and a lot of different parts and pieces uh yeah this one is is definitely definitely an easy an easier wrap to do and now this is the uh this is the trimming this particular part is that's that's where the expertise really comes in you know cuz obviously you're you're taking a knife you're putting it very very close to a car you don't want to do any damage or anything like that so it has to be done in a strategic way uh you know actually a FR while we're here in this section I didn't actually show you before but we remove the mirrors car I see that it's right inside over there yep there it is and basically the reason why we do that is so that way it gets it gets completely uh placed inside and then the mirror is placed on top of that so when it's complete it just looks perfect and then you cover the mirror and then the the mirror itself is actually black so we're not going to be doing it on that yeah but in some cases in other cars absolutely yeah all right it looks like we're almost done wow that was quick so like in an hour from now the guy can come up and come can pick up the truck not just yet so there's a couple of other things that we have to do there's trimming uh and then we go through the entire vehicle to make sure everything that we did is is good and uh is tucked in and and looks great after that we do a process called post heating post heating is is lamps that are placed all over the car to mimic the the sun's Rays to help us catch anything that we may have missed little bubbles little things like that uh and it brings that out um one second customer ready got it let me before we finish the video just one more thing I see I have a pickup truck on the back over here so what's the story this I see it is a commercial truck yeah so this is a commercial wrap um in this particular case if i'me this color here is this is a part that's not done yet this color here is the original color of the car and they wrapped it uh with their business advertising they also switched it to White so that it matches the uh so it matches the the the rest
