The Connection Between 1. No Eating Blood & 2.No Eating Fruits For 3 Years

this week's Torah portion is kedoshima and it's filled with all kinds of Mitzvahs two such Mitzvahs are the Mitzvah Orla and the Mitzvah against eating the blood the midst of Orla is a requirement to wait three years until a fruit can be eaten the tree must be three years old and the midst of not eating blood requires that we properly drain the blood of an animal before eating its meat what is the lesson of these two Mitzvahs and more interestingly why are they back to back one beside the other they seemingly have nothing to do with one another as explained that both Mitzvahs teach us the trait of patience that not everything has to be consumed at the first possible opportunity God wants us to sit back and take our time we're living in a generation where everything is now where everything is instant where everything is microwavable but Torah tells us the fruits wait three years the animal give it a second prepare the meat properly don't run after Slaughter and immediately start consuming the raw meat patience unfortunately in our generation it's something that's hard to find and maybe it's these two Mitzvahs in this week's Parsha telling us once again slow down it doesn't have to be immediate it doesn't have to be now foreign [Music]
