so many times before he's a role model for me because sometimes there are the small things that need to get done that make that difference and personally I've never met anyone like steuart heightman who is ready to do the big things and to be our family partner together with his wife but to be able to do the small things as well therefore I ask you to please give the proper honors to Dr Stuart heightman our founding part what a SCH what a great SCH to be here over this sh over this weekend think about it the thousand people who want to change po thr to stand in front of you I think we have to take a sort of moment step that and absorb the experience that we've all had over this shabas and today it's an incredible thing you know uh with nor l i saw I ready he used to say that just giv me 10 good men say that all the time imagine he's looking down he sees a thousand men and women what we can do after the inspiration after the message that we receive over the Shas so it's my suppos to speak in front of all of you I want to tell you a story there was this one uh one year my family we went to this uh Pace Up Programs you know the type where you know the greatest great food you guys about him and he got together about 500 people in the room at the time he walks up you could feel the energy in the air everybody anticipating waiting for him to speak gets up to the podium and he says I want to tell everybody why they are obligated to do kir I'm like yes TR ispired we did it again it was like a project Inspire convention without the overhead this is amazing so he gets up in the first question says how many people in this audience have due care are working on Care on somebody a third to a half of the people raise up their hand and go great this is amazing he says well I think this is amazing I want to tell you all something that you need to know you have to be prepared to work on that person for 10 years of your life all of a sudden an eerie silence envelops the entire room you know if you ever ever watched one of those horror movies before the psychopathic killer is about to jump out and kill everybody you know that type of eerie silence envelops the entire room that I don't think he realized it he just convinced 500 people to stop doing k at that let me tell you I once there was one time many a number of years ago I was helping organize a fusa program at the Village SCH at monation tour branches in Toronto and everybody was being set up with these sausas was going great and I was making sure everybody was set up and also somebody walked in and he had no from the person we were supposed to set him up with didn't show up so I'm around I said okay let's learn together the guy was as green as you could like imagine he was green know he liked Judaism he very little we sat down we were learning together El we learned a few other things we learned for many weeks together we had him over to our play shabas our kids loved them nice single guy and we got a great relationship with him but you know what we weren't working on him for 10 years you know what happened he actually after he went to our place for shabas he went to a lot of other people's places for shabas and he learned with other people as well as me he spread around he made a lot of connections he he went from different places a lot of people touched his lives today he's married with a from a from girl kids and he's he's a great guy you don't need 10 years you don't need to do that all you need to do we we have to learn we do not make people from that's a CB's job our job is to care about y That's our job we have to realize we have to know that message C if he wants this to happen all we have to do is make the effort that's it we have to know that we're in the battle everybody in this room if anything you come out of this convention we are in the battle let me ask you a question and this is these are questions of Noah he would ask to his his Tom Eden he would say if said or brother if he came up to you he asked you did you help him with his children how would you feel raash came up to you how would you feel if he asked you to help him with his children would you need not drop everything what can I do how would you feel if Rashi came up to you and he asked you with my children what would you do how would you feel how would you feel if Moser Renu you're in the midbar came up to you and he said can you help with my children what would you do would you just not jump would you not hesitate now what should you feel when the C baru ask you to take care of his children not only that what would a parent do if you saved his children if you helped his children what do you think that parent would be willing to do what do you think aage is willing to do for us if we save his children think about it project Inspire is putting us in the battle that's what this weekend is about it is putting us in this battle to help aish Marvel's children so there's something I want to tell you I don't know if you have heard about this there was there was this article that came out called the claw perspective article and they had they asked all these questions about where is cir today what's the status of cir today where are we going in here today what's it going to take to be successful and how all these different opinions from different authorities here and there was very there was quite a bit of varying opinions as well however one common denominator that I noticed from this article is that many cure professionals felt that in order to be successful they needed to use the F Community as their resource that was their biggest tool for Su in in in their organization which when you think about it that's amazing the way cure of is being done now has to change what happens I'll give you an example you get up one here professional he's very Dynamic he's becoming very successful he's beening many people so we gets to a certain point there's only there's only a human being there's only so much that one person can do so at that point what do you do when you get to a certain amount of success you got to hire another cure of Remedy right you hire somebody else but guess what when you hire somebody else you have to now guess what fundraise for him you know he has to make a living so this one cure of Rabbi is now fundraising for himself as well as this other cure of Rabbi because now he has to do Outreach but now of all these people he also has to do in reach as well the more successful that each person gets in the Cure of organization obviously you have to hire more people to relate and to keep growing and as a result you have to fund raise more and more it's getting a little bit more the more you the more people you get into your organization the harder it is to grow what I'm trying to tell you is the only model the only financial model that makes sense for success is the model that is in this room tonight today and over the weekend it is the only model that can make sense the only financial model that makes sense we need lay people to get involved in kiru help the kiru organizations get involved themselves that is the only way we can reach the numbers of Jews and 90% of Y who are distant from Torah that's my message to you I want to tell you we are the tool we are the model in this true that is the model for success and that is why my wife Andrea and I have dedicated ourselves to project Inspire Okay so we've got a lot of inspiration from this over the weekend right we feel inspired how can we be successful I mean back of your mind we're feeling like we could the energy but really how can we be successful what is it going to take I'm going to tell you D Torah from W that I think really addresses this issue so we just went in last week's para the famous Kaz all Beginnings are difficult many of us have heard this before but what most of us have really focused on is what commitment I'm going to care about another Jew I'm going to bring them bring them back to their Heritage if we make that commitment that's half the battle that's it of course as we grow and as we have new challenges you're going to have to make new levels of commitment as you grow But realize of this claw that making the commitment that's the battle that we undergo it's not that it's hard to do c it's not hard to do c it's the commitment and we've seen that all the we all this weekend but the one thing that we do have to realize that it's going to be sweet it's going to be sweet from here on in make that commitment so I want to make one last Point here there was a r inion a POS a well-known POS in yion and he had this question about kiru that was really bothering him and of course he came to R to ask him this question this is his question goes look at the community look at our friend Community I know we have we have a to do kiru to go out there all the's children are so far away we have here but look at our own Community look at all the problems that we have with our within ourselves with our own with our children that are going that go off the D Financial issues within the firm Community we have so many problems within our challenges within our fir Community how can we go out and do cure he goes what's the priority Noah is the priority to still to go out and do kiru or is the priority to take care of our own needs and visit to the FR Community take care of our own challenges so what do you think the leader of the the leader of the cir of movement in the world said to Torah and MIT what a huge problem and on the other hand we have the FR Community we have our own challenge that we have to undergo so we have aage who children who are distance from Torah on one hand on the other hand you have a K's children who are close to Torah yet they have their own challenges what's the solution to these these challenges that we're all facing these different totally opposite groups what's the what's the solution it's the same solution don't you see it it's the same solution it's so beautiful it's perfect isn't it mean Shay don't you see we have to see what's the best way you want to exercise your amuna muscles there's no better way that have to articulate what a moon is about to an non Affiliated Jew you want to feel the the G of shabus how beautiful shabus is there
