I think half the length of the letter is
a P.S.

about a third of the letter is a P.S., a
long P.S.
The uh
link to the letter should be
should find it in the YouTube

Yeah, do we have the right link there? I
know in the past sometimes I don't

Baruch Hashem Chof Zayin Nissan Tashlag
Tazai in Brooklyn Shalom Uvracha. This
is the 27th of Nissan.
Uh greetings and blessings.
Remember I told you the other night we
had a very harsh letter. I don't
remember how many nights ago it was,
maybe
two or three nights ago.
We had a harsh letter. Um
Which number was that?
Oh, it was 27. It was one of the two
letters that we learned on Thursday
night.
We called it too busy for your purpose.
Right.
Where No, no, no. No, that wasn't even
the the super harsh letter. Super harsh
letter was
24. Working for the Rebbe is a
privilege.
Yeah.
That's what the Rebbe [clears throat]
said. It's come time [snorts] already
that we have to just say things as they
are and be completely open.
And the truth is, it's a privilege to
work for the Rebbe. We're not begging
people anymore. We're not asking you to
do a favor for for the Rebbe, because
ultimately, anyone who does the Rebbe's
work,
he's the one who's benefiting.
>> [cough and clears throat]
>> And we shouldn't have to beg people
anymore. Yeah, remember that really like
um
severe tone from
episode number 24, and I told you,
"Trigger warning, this is like the
harshest letter by far from all the
letters."
Okay, so here's a trigger warning.
Tonight's letter, letter number 29, is
the second harshest letter.
Uh it's it's not as harsh as the one we
learned um
for letter number 24. Definitely not as
harsh, but it's close.
It's a close second. Or how about this?
You judge, and you tell me in the
comments, in the chat, what you think.
Okay.
Ready? Let's do it.
B'acharei havsakah aruchah niskabel
michtavcha im tzu schein al
absurd a teiva matoves matzav briusai.
After a long
break, I received a letter from you, and
thank you for the update on the
improvement in your health. I remark on
this every time, cuz it just blows me
away, that not only the Rebbe is
answering the voluminous mail that he
receives, but he actually wants more.
So, like when you tell someone, "Hey, I
didn't hear from you for for a long
time."
Right? And then you're like, "And thank
you, by the way, for the update on your
health." And I'm sitting here and
thinking to myself, the Lubavitcher
Rebbe
is
he's running a global operation. I'm not
even talking about all the Rebbe stuff
that I can't even imagine, you know, the
spiritual stuff. I'm saying just like
the things that a normal human being
like me can relate to,
just the Rebbe's schedule, the Rebbe's
responsibilities, the size of the
organization that the the Rebbe is
is running,
and he's asking for this guy to update
him about his health. And like write to
me more often. I want more updates.
Always blows me away.
Okay. Umasha kasev aidus hisvaduyos.
Regarding what you write about the
fabrengens.
So, it seems like this guy wrote to the
Rebbe that he is
making fabrengens. I don't know who goes
to these fabrengens. I don't know if
it's
You know, we had interesting we had a
letter.
I think
just glancing through it.
Um
It was
Yeah, number 25.
Letter 25, don't lower standards for
students. Remember the letter to the
person who was involved in the
vocational school, in Colel Chabad,
where the boys were not necessarily from
chassidic backgrounds.
And the Rebbe told that letter writer
how important it is to fabreng with the
boys, and tell them stories at these
fabrengens, and sing niggunim with these
boys at the at the fabrengens, and even
dance with them at the fabrengens.
So, you know, I don't have to tell you
that fabrengens are like a foundation of
chassidic life, but
you see here what the Rebbe is about to
say to this letter writer about the
fabrengens. He says, "You you wrote to
me about the fabrengens." Plural.
Shegambe in a bus and yet in peiros,
that even with fleshly eyes you see
peiros, you see fruits. You mean you
meaning to see you see results.
Apparently the guy wrote to the Rebbe
and said, "I'm making these fabrengens,
and baruch Hashem I'm seeing results."
Meaning people were actually moved by
the fabrengens to to do something
practical. There were
tangible improvements in people's
spiritual lives because of these
fabrengens.
So, the Rebbe says, "The You tell me
even with einei basa, even with fleshly
eyes you see
improvements based on the fabrengens. Af
sheha yeitzer me'avol u'val
bitachbulos meshunos,
Now, I'm sorry. I I
I skipped a line. Hinei einam be'erech
legabei apeiros be'emes. But that's
nothing compared to the real results.
Meaning you're reporting to me that
you're seeing results, and I want to
tell you, "Yes, and there are even
greater results, incomparably greater
results, that you don't even see. Af
sheha yeitzer me'avol bitachbulos
meshunos, even though the yeitzer hara
comes in and tries to confuse us with
different tactics. U'mehem hatolas safek
im yesh te'ales bisvados. One of those
tactics of the yeitzer hara
is he tries to make you doubt whether
the fabrengens are productive.
>> [snorts]
>> And I'm telling you they definitely are
productive, and whatever you've seen as
far as results of these fabrengens, that
ain't the half of it. That's the tip of
the iceberg. There's even much more.
Okay.
K'mo vu'ar
d'racha b'zeh b'ma'amarei dacha
bisichos. And this, like the way the
yeitzer hara messes with you, is
explained in chassidus. Okay.
Now, there's a redacted part. Dot dot
dot.
Not sure what it was about.
Umasha kasev aidus. Now, this is a
different section, different topic.
Okay.
Umasha kasev
aidus divrei ha'reifeh hametapel bach.
What you write about the doctor who's
been treating you.
Remember the guy reported to the Rebbe
that he had an improvement in his in his
health situation. Okay.
Regarding what you write about the
doctor who's been treating you.
Binagai'a lematzav briuscha, regarding
your health.
>> [snorts]
>> Ve'eich shemelaches ha dot dot dot.
Okay.
What is redacted here is the type of job
that this guy was doing.
Apparently, it was I mean I'm assuming
it was deemed an identifying detail
that if you would know enough from the
letter. Remember, there's no name here.
Right? If you would know enough from the
letter, from the other information, and
then it would also say what kind of
specific work
this guy was doing to make a living,
I guess it would be too identifying.
So, it's redacted. But he was doing a a
certain type of job.
So, the doctor who's treating him,
according to this letter writer's own
report to the Rebbe, the doctor who is
treating him told him that this work,
whatever it was, I have no idea what
kind of work it was. Kasha all of this
difficult for him.
Meaning the doctors treating him and
he's,
you know, not 100% yet. He's on the
mend, but he's not 100% and the doctor
told him, "This work that you're doing
is hard for you."
Especially if you're also doing Chabad
work.
So it sounds like this person was doing
two things. And the Chabad work, as
you'll see later from the from the
letter, is a Yeshiva.
So it sounds like that this uh letter
writer had sort of like a job
on the side. And I'm and I'm and I'm not
even sure like
if the Chabad Yeshiva work was the main
job and the other job was like the more
like
or for money
or if it was like no, he had a main job.
He had a like uh
some type of
business or or maybe it was employment
and then the Yeshiva stuff was on the
side. I'm not sure exactly
how
um
how it worked.
But the point is he was involved in
both. He was involved in some type of
regular job type job and he was and he
was involved in
chinuch of some level for a Chabad
Yeshiva or or school. Okay. And at any
rate, the doctor told the guy
"This work is very demanding for you
especially if you're also doing Chabad
work."
Okay. Valochain, therefore
>> [snorts]
>> Therefore um
he he's concerned that he should
minimize these activities.
Okay. So you you understand what's
happening. The letter writer is writing
to the Rebbe and saying
"Look
the doctor told me I kind of got to cut
back."
>> [laughter]
>> Ladies and gentlemen, um
again
I'm not asking you to know what the
Rebbe is going to say. I'm asking you to
predict
based on maybe you'll be surprised.
Maybe it'll be
completely unexpected. Based on
your learning with me
and any other letters of the Rebbe that
you have learned.
A guy writes to the Rebbe and says
"Listen, the doctor himself says for my
health I got to cut back.
Can't do all this work."
You don't have to figure out how the
Rebbe is going to answer. Just tell me,
is the Rebbe going to tell him yes or
no?
Cut back or not cut back?
You're right. The Rebbe is not going to
tell him to cut back. Now
>> [snorts]
>> how is the Rebbe going to manage
to practically guide this person to not
cut back, especially if there is a
legitimate health concern? And we know
the Rebbe I mean I don't know if you
know, but if you learn Igros enough,
you'll see the Rebbe usually takes
pretty seriously doctor's orders.
Sometimes the Rebbe will say second
opinion or even third opinion.
But the Rebbe takes doctor's orders
seriously. So it's definitely not going
to be like ignore the doctor.
Well, probably not going to be ignore
the doctor. Now
I'm a full disclosure. I I I learned the
letter already, but
I'm just saying this makes sense to you,
right? Cuz you know, this is my second
to last letter that we're learning this
year. So
kind of want to get into some of my
commentary that I hold myself back from.
You see that I struggle with how much
commentary should I give, less or more.
Just from my heart to yours. Like the
Rebbe says, "Dvar dvarim yeitz'im min
halev."
I want nothing more
than this shiur should help you to think
like a chossid thinks.
And that means that the patterns
the style, the approach that are
repeated letter after letter after
letter should become second nature to
us.
That's what I really hope. That's what I
want. That when you go through life and
you have your own dilemmas to deal with
you will naturally react in an Igros
type way. You understand what I'm
saying? Okay.
Ah, hinei.
>> [laughter]
>> I love this next word. Lapela. Lapela
Lapela means it's a wonder like
I am totally shocked, right? Lapela.
It is remarkable.
It is wondrous.
Astounding. Apparently you don't sense
the dark, the doubled and redoubled dark
of golus that we're in.
Even when it's pointed out to you
directly, you know, pointed with the
finger. Like this is it, right?
Like
>> [laughter]
>> I am so surprised that you don't see
the obvious like darkness here.
And that not not only that, you come to
you come to a conclusion or conclusions
that are antithetical
to what you ought to be coming to.
You're making the exact opposite
conclusions.
And in fact, these conclusions are the
opposite conclusions that a healthy mind
would make.
Whoa.
Told you this is the second harshest
letter.
>> [laughter]
>> Maybe it's the harshest. I don't know. I
think it's second harshest.
Wow.
And you're not meditating on what I
wrote to you in my letter. Dot dot dot.
Something's redacted.
Again, it may have been too identifiable
as far as the specificity of it.
But the Rebbe says, "I've written to you
about this.
And and you didn't
I don't I don't want to translate
meditate, but you know, think deeply.
It's the same word we use for chassidic
meditation, hisbonenus. But you didn't
think you didn't reflect upon what I
wrote. I've written to you about this.
I've been telling you this.
And you didn't read it in time before
your own will came and bribed you. Such
an interesting term.
You didn't get you didn't
>> [snorts]
>> you didn't read it and think about it
quickly enough. What happened instead
is
I guess maybe you read it and then you
like
put it aside and then you came back to
thinking about it, but by that time
your own will had bribed you.
Meaning to say
your mind had time already to
rationalize. You know what you know what
I mean? It's to rationalize rational
lies.
Your [laughter] your brain kicked in and
already prepared all the excuses.
If you would have reflected promptly on
the letter, you know what would have
happened? You would have seen that this
matter dot dot dot redacted, this this
side job or this other job is not
appropriate for you.
It's not appropriate for you. I already
told you that.
I told you that before that that other
job is not appropriate. Now you're
telling me the doctor is telling you
that this job is too much for you,
especially if you're also doing Chabad
work.
Well, why are we even talking about that
job anymore? I told you before and I
don't know how long ago that letter was,
but the Rebbe was saying, "I told you
before that that job wasn't appropriate
for you. If you would have reflected
sincerely on my letter promptly when you
received it, you would have quit that
job immediately.
But instead, what did you do? You put it
off, put off thinking about it until
your defenses had all been lined up and
you all your excuses were prepared. And
and and you and you read I wrote to you,
don't do that job anymore, but you're
still doing it. You're still doing it
and you're writing to me, 'Oh, and now
the doctor's telling me that I can't do
it.'
She's kabolas This is so powerful.
The Rebbe says, "I didn't merit that you
should receive my words."
Understand what the Rebbe is saying? The
Rebbe is saying, "I didn't merit." The
Rebbe is saying on himself, "I did not
merit. I guess I did not have the merit
that you should receive my words."
Understand when the Rebbe tells us to do
something
and we don't do it.
Okay, I don't want to finish that, but
because I did not merit that my words
should be listened to, that you should
that you should listen to me.
So I guess a doctor had to come and tell
you the same thing.
Meaning to say, I told you previously
that this wasn't good for you. Cut it
out.
You you you didn't listen to me. I
didn't merit that you should listen to
me.
And now you're coming back to me later
and saying, "Oh, by the way, the doctor
just told me I'm
I'm not able to do it anymore."
>> [gasps]
>> The Rebbe is saying, "I wish I would
have merited that you could have
received it from me
in a nice way.
Much more pleasant to get it as loving
advice from your Rebbe.
But instead, you had to get it from a
doctor."
>> [snorts]
>> You had to get it in in much harsher
terms. You understand what I'm saying by
harsher terms? Like
the doctor has to sit you down and say
to you
this is dangerous for you, this is not
healthy. That's that's that's
that's much scarier than
getting a loving
letter from your rebbe telling you
what's good for your soul.
A moving
and and also another difference
the doctor, I'm sure
you know, he attributed it to physical
things rather than spiritual things. So
the rebbe is saying like this
I told you a long time ago that that
job's not good for you.
For your soul. It's not good for your
soul. Meaning that's not where your
neshama belongs.
And you you could have reflected on it
immediately and acted and you would have
been moved to act on it. You didn't.
You put it aside until you were
you know, ready to dismiss it.
And now instead of getting it as
spiritual guidance, loving spiritual
guidance from someone who loves you
you had to hear it from some doctor some
doctor's office telling you about it as
physical
uh
advice.
Material, physical, bodily advice.
Same [snorts] same conclusion. The
conclusion is that that job is too much
for you. But you could have had it in a
loving way from your rebbe giving you
spiritual advice. Instead you're getting
it in the doctor's office.
The letter of the rebbe
And not only did that not work.
Meaning even now the doctor told you you
have to cut that work out. But
apparently it's still not working
because you came to the exact opposite
conclusion. The doctor just told you
stop doing that work. But what
conclusion did you come to?
You came to the conclusion that the
Chabad work that they're they're
mutually exclusive. You can't do both.
Your conclusion is you got to cut out
the Chabad stuff as long as you'll have
enough energy to do the old stuff the
the the job the the what you're calling
the source of your parnassah your
livelihood.
Meaning let's say
let's again spell it out. The rebbe says
I told you long ago to cut out that job.
I wish I knew what it what it was I
could refer to it but we don't know. I
told you long ago that's not for you.
It's not for your neshama. Not for you.
But you kept doing it.
Okay.
Then you came to a point where the
doctor also told you you can't do both.
You can't do this job and Chabad work.
So now unfortunately same message I had
told you as spiritual advice now you're
getting it from a doctor. Lot scarier.
Okay. You had a second opportunity to to
to let go of that job and to just focus
on the Chabad work.
And instead what was your conclusion?
You write to me and say
well, I guess I got to stop doing Chabad
work
cuz I can't do both.
Okay.
You still with me?
All right.
>> [snorts]
>> I don't know if additional words are
going to add anything.
Cuz it's already been shown to you
pointed out directly to you
what you should be doing.
Meaning how you should be occupied.
So God willing very soon in a kind
compassionate way
purpose.
The mocking by Nimitz who are to in the
place where you currently are.
You understand what the rebbe is saying?
Should happen in a kind compassionate
way. It's like you're not responding.
I'm trying to give you advice. You're
not responding to it. Okay, so now
already
the message has come to you in a less
pleasant way. Meaning a doctor is
telling you.
The message isn't going to stop coming.
This is not where you need to be. Your
neshama didn't come to this world for
that for that side job which maybe even
calls his main job.
You're going to continue getting the
message to get you away from it.
And I the rebbe is saying like I'm just
hoping that it's going to come to you in
a kind way. It's not going to be a harsh
awakening.
But eventually you're going to have to
get the point.
That your purpose is
in in the Chabad work that that you're
supposed to be doing in the place where
you are right now.
Now we're going to see from the letter
the context
what does it [clears throat] mean the
place where you are right now? This
person's an immigrant. He came from
[snorts] Russia. He's not in Russia.
Where is he now? I don't know.
I really don't know. He could be
anywhere in the world.
Um
that was your job immediately when you
arrived there.
Meaning as soon as you arrived wherever
it was
that was your purpose. That's
what you were supposed to be doing.
And everything else is secondary of
secondary.
Like really really unimportant.
So you should do the thing that is your
real job. You should do it with joy and
in a glad heart.
Until finally you'll understand what I
was talking about all along.
Portion
She got me many loyal
Indian the parnassah gashmis.
Now obviously
I'm not oblivious. That's how I'll
translate it.
To the need for a livelihood. Right? In
other words
the rebbe is anticipating the argument.
But but but but but I need a I need a I
need a parnassah. I need to make a
livelihood.
The rebbe is saying I'm fully aware of
that.
I'm fully aware of the fact that you
need to make a livelihood. Yes, I know
that.
But the Yeshiva
again we don't know the name of it. We
don't know the location.
The Yeshiva has the capacity
to sustain you and your family.
I don't know why you're running after
things that are secondary of secondary
that have nothing to do with your soul's
mission because you need to make a
living?
And I See this is the rebbe. The rebbe
doesn't say to you you have a mission
and even if you're going to starve you
have to do your mission.
The rebbe doesn't speak that way. The
rebbe says to you
you have a mission and please I don't
want you to starve. I want you to have
parnassah. Of course I want you to have
parnassah. You will have parnassah from
doing your mission.
See in the rebbe's world
everything gashmis and ruchnis it's all
one thing. Berish borei Elokim es
hashamaim ve'es ha'aretz. The Aibishter
created this world. You know, talk about
the 12 pesukim which the anniversary of
the 12 pesukim is coming up 50th
anniversary.
It's coming up uh alef uh year.
Well, two two sichos alef year and and
um
actually was it alef year? It was alef
the rosh chodesh year. It was the last
day of Nissan. And then Lag B'Omer.
And then the possuk Bereishis Bereishis
borei Elokim which is from the second
set of pesukim Lag B'Omer pesukim.
The the the rebbe said what does it
mean? It means that the child has to
know that the same Aibishter gave us the
Torah to created the world. Nothing in
the world can be
antithetical to Torah. To the contrary
Torah mitzvos
open up pathways for success in this
world. And that that's like a theme over
and over and over and over again in the
rebbe's Torah.
It's not go be mesiras nefesh and and
and and do the right thing and lose out
even though you'll lose out but at least
you did the right thing.
No, it's not in the rebbe's world
success in the most practical sense
is only
through
aligning yourself with what your neshama
needs to do.
So the rebbe is saying to him
why are you you keep coming back to this
this side job that you need to do cuz
you need to make a living? I'm telling
you forget about the side job. Now your
doctor's telling you you can't do both.
I told you already long ago you can't do
both. Just focus on the Yeshiva and from
[clears throat] the Yeshiva you will
have an honorable living.
How we doing in the chat?
How are my people?
Let me know if you're following. Tell me
in the chat if you're following this
letter.
Yeah.
That
uh
my skirt is Chicago.
Furthermore, this will bring a lot more
benefit
than any salary that you'll receive.
Meaning you won't lose out financially
and you'll be doing something way more
meaningful
and productive.
If only you would have taken this advice
two or three years ago.
I guess the guy's been
involved in this other job for a couple
years two or three years.
If you would have followed this path in
the first place
the past two three years
you would be physically healthier
and your environment would be
spiritually healthier.
I mean that that's
I don't want to call it harsh but that's
like that's a real
>> [sighs]
>> that's that's that's a powerful thought
to reflect on imagine you receiving
this.
You would be physically healthy remember
this guy's dealing with health issues
and he's saying the doctor told him that
he's overworked.
You would have been physically healthier
if you would have just focused on
the Chabad work that you have and don't
worry about that other stuff.
And the spiritual and the surroundings
would have been spiritually healthier
cuz you would have been benefiting the
environment so much.
The matter only depends on your will
meaning just make a decision.
With blessings
for success or that you should report
good news in all of the above that's the
end of the letter but then there's a
non-base.
A PS postscript.
Okay.
>> [cough and clears throat]
>> Someone wrote in the comments oh yeah
this one seems harsher to me. Yeah go
back and read uh
the other letter what do we say 24
was the the first harsh letter?
Is it 24?
No it was 20 yeah it's 24 letter 24.
Um
you know what though probably the reason
that you think this one is harsher
is it I mean I'm just sharing personally
is that I remember it letter 24 was
harsh.
But after you sleep on it a few nights
you don't remember the harshness you
only you only remember the love.
Cuz the Rebbe was writing with love and
I bet you the same thing with this like
right now we're reading it and it's like
oh yeah that's that's that's a harsh you
know like if you would have followed my
advice two three years ago you'd be
healthier you know why why do you have
to hear I'm trying to tell you this
and then and and you're not listening
and then the doctor tells you and okay.
Sounds very harsh right now. You sleep
on it a few nights and you're not going
to remember the harshness you're going
to remember the love.
At least
that's my personal opinion. Okay, you
want to do the PS should we do the PS?
Let's do the PS.
A mushlo.
She had not seen the hospital in school
I see I'm worried
need a slam.
Whoa
it
wouldn't be
out of the realm of possibility
that because the advice I'm giving you
is in the realm of material matters. In
other words
spiritual matters be that Rebbe is
telling you how to daven how to learn
Torah how to do mitzvahs here the Rebbe
is giving advice that has to do with
work how you make a living.
So the Rebbe says it wouldn't be
completely outside of the realm of
possibility that because I'm giving you
what some would classify as practical
advice
there may be some this is this is a
harsh truth bomb right here. Some anash
anash means Chassidim Chabad guys fellow
Chabad guys who are who are businessmen
and they will tell you that my reasoning
doesn't seem correct to them.
You you hear you hear what the Rebbe is
saying? The Rebbe is saying you're going
to get my letter you're going to talk it
over with some
anash with other Chabad Chassidim
and they are going to try to talk you
out of listening to me cuz they're going
to say well you know if it were
spiritual advice that's one thing but
this is really practical stuff maybe you
know uh
maybe the Rebbe doesn't whatever you
know God forbid but uh
I guess the Rebbe is saying
>> [sighs]
>> that's
I mean the Rebbe doesn't say it's going
to happen
but the Rebbe says definitely not
outside of the realm of possibility that
it will happen and some Chassidic guys
are going to come and try to
throw cold water on this whole thing and
confuse you.
Uh yeah.
On as this is neat
this is neat chain of fire fire
lightning
they're going to try to convince you
that this is not the
you know this is is not a an approach.
Over a shoe say the hospital to him will
be schmee gamkey.
So
you have permission to tell them the
following in my name.
Interesting that the Rebbe is saying you
have permission to say it in my name.
The Rebbe doesn't give permission to say
in his name not necessarily can you
assume that but the Rebbe is saying I
give you permission that when they tell
you this if they if they should tell you
this
you can tell them the following
in my name.
You
can tell them also in my name.
Oh
my gosh okay. So just imagine the scene.
This guy gets the letter that he should
stop with the other job he should focus
on Chabad work he should do full-time
work in the Yeshiva.
He's going to tell some other Chabad
guys
and they're going to say to him
you think really that that's really yeah
yeah yeah you think that's really the
right advice?
Um
so the Rebbe says I want you to tell
them
and you can tell them in my name if if
you please
that you want to know my full
idea my full stance on this diet team my
my my opinion on the matter? Shikola
nasha boya moros ya dot dot dot srichim
la cable parna sosum by even yash all
your day is ask us me Yeshiva's dot dot
dot. My opinion is not only you should
make your full-time occupation
exclusively in the Yeshiva but I THINK
ALL THE CHABAD REBBE should do the same
thing. I told you before by the way and
I got a little bit of a
uh backlash I have I.
Letter 24 I told you I said I know these
characters I know who the Rebbe was
writing to it's 1956 he's writing to
these Russians and somebody commented on
the YouTube I very Rebbe you're usually
so sensitive and then you said this
thing about the Rebbe is writing harsh
cuz they're Russians and I'm a Russian
and I don't want anyone to be harsh to
me.
>> [laughter]
>> And I felt so bad cuz
you have to understand when I say the
word Russian I'm not using the word
Russian to describe like your nice uncle
who plays chess and drinks tea and
listens to symphonies.
Russian I'm talking about okay please
all the gadget people like forgive me
for two seconds but I have to just say
this.
There's a certain culture associated
historically with Lubavitch.
A very harsh headstrong stubborn people.
Okay?
Now today you wouldn't know that because
Lubavitch is so big so it kind of got
like
mellowed a little bit especially you
know the the feeder Rebbe was in Poland
for a while and they you know he got the
the influx of those
those Chassidim who are culturally
different. Today the whole distinction
is lost on people they don't understand
and then especially with the Rebbe in
America getting you know the American
Chassidim the American boys like that's
a whole different style but there's a
certain culture I'm talking about a very
specific culture it hardly exists today
in the greater world.
It's a very specific demographic of guys
who come from illustrious Chabad lineage
you got to give them that okay? Yejos.
But it's a very specific type of culture
of like
I don't want to tell you other than
headstrong and stubborn okay?
And the Rebbe was dealing with these
guys
and when the Rebbe dealt with these guys
he would
speak to them accordingly. You wouldn't
see the Rebbe write to a to an American
with these
with this kind of language or or
you know some somebody who who who who
who grew up in a different milieu he
would the Rebbe wouldn't speak that way.
The Rebbe knew who he was speaking to.
So the Rebbe is saying to this letter
writer I don't know where he was.
You're in this place there's a Yeshiva
you should be there full-time that
should be your only occupation.
You're going to tell the other
Lubavitchers there and they're going to
sort of like minimize it. I want you to
turn around and I want you to tell them
not only does the Rebbe want me to
exclusively make my living only in
Yeshiva the Rebbe told me that I can say
in his name he wants all of you to do
the same thing. All the guys that came
from Russia the Rebbe says very clearly
the guys who came from Russia should
mean the the the the the
the the Chassidim you know the Chassidim
the the Chabad Chassidim the guys who
not became Chabad when Chabad came to a
to a place but the guys from you know
Chabad lineage.
You came to this place wherever it was
France Australia America I don't know
where it was.
You at least in this town, I'm not
saying that I've said this about all of
the city of that time, but in that town,
wherever the letter writer was,
he was supposed to tell all of these
Russian city, these about city, that
ever don't don't tell me that I
shouldn't do this. That ever told me
that you should all be doing the same
thing. Enough with the side jobs. Enough
with it already.
Okay.
So they should receive that also but
directly.
I'll you day he's asked
This is powerful. I got to read this
slowly.
This could be a Shiva.
Follow this.
Explain to them this. Say it my name.
The
they make whatever jobs they're having
whatever side jobs they have.
They only get that also.
In the merit of the issue.
Whether they work for the issue or not.
The
that's coming to a notch in that place
is only in the mirror of the issue.
Meaning that the merit that the issue of
creates spiritually is what
brings down the blessings of livelihood
material livelihood for the in that
place.
So you tell them
if you don't work for the issue, you're
still working for the issue. I mean
meaning to say
that you're getting credit for working
for the issue and the issue is not
benefiting from you working for the
issue, but you're benefiting from the
issue of existence cuz the you receive
whatever conduit you're using
is only being filled that kind of would
only be filled by that are coming from
the issue.
So powerful.
I'll show you day
But you're insisting the guy supposed to
tell his friends
to take the
that's coming in the of the issue and
you're insisting that you want to be
that you want to invest that
into
crash course vessels of of business
being out in the marketplace and in the
streets
in a way that distracts you that that
it's a piece of and scattering of the
soul it causes profound distraction.
Alarming my feeling is alarming
distraction like I don't get it.
You're torturing yourself to have these
jobs that don't let you
have a have a settled focused life.
You're dealing with all this this
crashness out in the streets out in the
doing who knows what.
Not saying it's they're doing anything
prohibited not forbid. I'm just saying
that I've been saying it's alarming that
you guys are grinding away at these
mundane jobs when
the
you're receiving is anyways in the merit
of the issue. Go work for the issue.
Go work for the issue. The issue of can
can be a source of for everyone.
The whole community. Work for the issue.
And as a result what's happening is
you're adding all these extra
unnecessary layers of concealment.
At the end of the day, you're grinding
away doing these jobs these mundane jobs
and at the end of the day whatever you
make is only because of that come to
this town because of the issue of being
there.
So why are you adding the concealment
the layers of concealment? Just go work
for the issue of direct.
Come and drag us you're forcing that
this flow of blessing has to come down
further level after level until it takes
form as as the livelihood that you're
working for. Work for the issue of
the flow of blessing can come direct
through that.
And furthermore, not only
are you adding layers of unnecessary
concealment
but it also adds
means
waste product.
When [snorts]
the energy the divine
sustaining energy comes through
the the pipeline so to speak.
So the lower that it comes the more
waste product there is. The higher that
it is the pure it is.
That I've been saying you could have
access to the pure level or pure levels.
And instead you want it to come down
through
different light layers of concealment
until it picks up waste product. And
that I've been saying what that means
not just like a
a
concept here.
You end up having to spend some of that
money on undesirable things.
Like
doctors bills may the merciful protect
us and ouch that hits home because the
letter writer himself has been spending
money on doctors bills.
You hear me?
I've said similar things by the way
>> [snorts]
>> about like working on jobs.
I've said even if you'll argue that
you're making more money because you're
working on jobs, you're not going to
keep that money. It's not blessed money.
You're going to end up spending it on
undesirable things unhappy things like
doctors bills.
So that I've been saying
you could be making a straight from the
issue. You're insisting for some
irrational reason you meaning the whole
community of
you're insisting for some irrational
reason not to receive your directly from
the issue but
forcing that flow to go lower and lower
and lower into these crash jobs that
really
are not befitting.
And and not only are you forcing it to
to go into these layers of concealment
but they're picking up waste product
meaning to say that you don't even get
to keep all the money for your
legitimate needs you end up having to
I don't want to call it wasting but in a
way it is. In theory it's called wasting
because
>> [sighs]
>> if you would do it right you wouldn't
have to spend this money this way. So
you end up losing that money
from your bottom line
spending it on things that are not happy
things not desirable things doctors
bills and the like.
>> [snorts]
>> after
brief him
the most
So how about if only they would choose
meaning the whole community of
that least from now on
they should have the aforementioned
livelihood meaning direct with the issue
with fewer concealments.
Then their own needs and the
needs of their households
of their households yeah of their their
families
would be would be sustained would be
enough would be enough for them.
Even their their material needs will be
taken care of.
And plus
they would have lots of us. You'd
have definitely have less
means of I don't know what that means
scattering of the soul distraction.
Just focus on the issue of instead of
whatever jobs they were doing I don't
know.
I've said buying and selling you know
like dealing with
merchandise and
making sales and inventory like what do
you what do you need that for? Like go
work for the issue of and just focus.
So you have less of us.
And you know the best thing about it?
You would be putting your knowledge and
your power and your electricity
into real things.
Things that really matter.
I
don't want to elaborate on something
that's so obvious.
Hello.
This is the problem that everyone
understands these things when they read
it in a
in a in a in a safer.
Okay? Like that I've been saying to the
letter writer you and your friends
you're guys you know you learn
if you would learn this concept that I'm
saying right now if you learn in a safer
you would understand it meaning it's not
a letter to you that you would have to
take personally therefore figure out a
way to make it not apply to you. You'd
learn in a safer as a general concept
about people in general you would have
no problem understanding of a fellow.
And
in fact you would even be able to
explain it about somebody else.
Not just understanding in a general way
understand it a specific way provided
it's a specific someone else someone
else you would tell him oh no no no it's
a very important you should work
directly for the issue. Why do you have
to put your
through different layers of concealment.
But when it gets personal when it starts
talking about you
the whole
back and forth the whole explanation
becomes
irrelevant to you you just lose it.
Forget it.
Wow.
>> [sighs]
>> Moving a portion shame
Indian show pay the
>> It is understood
that
there's absolutely no paid off.
We have to translate that word. I see
even in the English here they didn't
translate that word.
Paid off means to be like particular
about something, but it's more than
that.
It means like a grudge almost.
So the Rebbi's saying
if I can translate into very very
vernacular English, like there are no
hard feelings.
That's basically what he's saying. Like
you should know, God forbid there's no
hard feelings here. Like the Rebbi's
telling him a pretty harsh truth. But
the Rebbi's also letting him know, like
I'm not mad at you.
It's like when your father says, "I'm
not mad at you, I'm just disappointed."
>> [laughter]
>> Right? Okay, so
the Rebbi's saying, "I'm not mad, I'm
just like bewildered, I'm disappointed,
I'm I'm I'm trying to work with you
guys. I'm trying to help you here. I'm
trying to help you."
Not mad at you. I don't want anything
bad. God forbid. No, to the contrary, I
only want good for you. I'm trying to
help you here.
So there's no paid off. Unless you're
safe safe. You're showing sight the
hacker to MS. But you know what?
Comes a time you got to recognize the
truth.
>> [sighs]
>> That
in a monarch of Shogun literally means
it's set on the table, but like
something that's obvious.
And especially something that's
emphasized
and highlighted, meaning it's not just
on the table. It's like on the table and
there's like
spotlights on it,
arrows pointing to it.
The whole and now as was elaborated
above.
Like I really really hope you get the
point. I really hope that you don't need
more explanation on this. It's like
pretty should be pretty clear, okay? All
right. We have a raffle for the stairs
with a blessing for
being able to report good news.
Well, Hashem. Powerful powerful powerful
stuff. Okay. Tomorrow night is our 30th
letter. 8:00 p.m. A little bit earlier.
Why? Cuz
10:00 p.m. is okay for live stream only,
but I feel like it's a little bit late
for an in-person event. We're going to
have an in-person event tomorrow night.
Ladies only. Sorry to the men, but you
can watch online.
Um why ladies only? Cuz SoulWords House
is only big enough for either ladies or
men for a big event like this. And there
are by Hashem plenty of events for men.
And we figured it'd be nice to have a
space for women to go to and to be able
to to
to connect to Yud-Aleph Nissan.
>> [snorts]
>> And I'll just add
you know, the Rebbi's saying here in
this letter
that
you can
connect
directly to the source and it'll all
work out practically. So don't think I'm
overlooking the practical.
You're going to have the material and
the spiritual together.
So I don't know if I should take
liberties to say this, but
I'll just say like this.
I am not aware of anyone who ever took
time out to celebrate Yud-Aleph Nissan
and to connect to the Rebbi
that ever actually because of that was
less ready than they needed to be for
Pesach.
And to the contrary, if you take time
to celebrate Yud-Aleph Nissan
I'm sure that you'll be ready even
sooner and more calmly and with greater
success.
So tomorrow night 8:00 p.m. at the
SoulWords House. Just have a block from
the aisle. Look for the blue door.
Um
women's event. We're going to learn the
30th letter of 30 letters in 30 days.
God willing we will see you there.
