Don’t be fooled.

One of the most frustrating parts of owning a business is realizing the person you hired is not the person you interviewed. Interviews are basically the greatest acting performance on earth. Everyone's early, everyone's motivated, everyone's a team player. Then about 3 months later, the real version shows up. Suddenly the person who loves hard work needs a mental health day because it's raining. >> I agree with everything he said in the video except for one thing, that 3 months into the job you realize the person is not the right fit. It does not take 3 months to figure that out. It takes maybe maximum 3 weeks. And he's so right, during the interview process if you are able to spend 10 hours with that person, that is the most thorough interview process in the entire corporate world. And yet, one work day is 8 hours long. So by the end of 3 weeks, you will guaranteed know if that person is a star or not. Shameless plug, when you work with a recruiting company like mine, we are able to spot and smell who will be successful and who will not long-term. Why? Because we literally place hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people a year and we have to deal with the fallout if we place a bad candidate.
