Someone just sent me a picture of a packaged
item that said "car mezuzah," and they sent it
to me and asked me, does my car need a meuzah? So
to start, I think that was just a cute name for
a Tefilat Hederech, a traveler's prayer, that a
person could keep in their car. But the answer to
the question is no. Your car, your van, your truck
do not require a mezuzah because they're meant to
move, they're not meant for settled living.
However, if a person is going to be living in
a trailer home or in an RV for a long time, then
a person should ask their Rav if the way they're
going to be living in their RV or the trailer
home will necessitate putting up a mezuzah.
