Deputy Mayor Steven Langert on Responsible Spending

hi my name is stephen lingard and i'd like to talk to you about taxes and spending in lakewood township over the past three years we have been fortunate enough to cut our bonding deadlines by over seven and a half million dollars we've also been able to keep the tax rate stable and to lower taxes in town for the past two years last year of the 19 000 homes in lakewood 11 000 homes saw a tax decrease while eight thousand homes saw a fast fast increase and this year all nineteen thousand homes have seen a tax decrease in their taxes if i if you honor me with your vote and i am fortunate enough to once again represent lakewood in the next three years one term you will hear from me quite often is a term of responsible spending i believe that it is incumbent upon the lakewood officials to watch our tax dollars in responsible manners before we spend anything we need to ask our questions ourselves responding questions what we are looking to do responsibly are we spending our money in a responsible way are we spending our money on things that our council needs that our residents deserve and that will make and that's going to make lakewood a better place for everybody to live so some of the issues that i'm looking forward to tackling with regard to responsible spending of arts and recreation and social service issues i'm hoping that we can maximize our dollars in these issues as well as infrastructure in town whether it be roads street lights and sidewalks or anything else as detached as the taxpayers and residents of lakewood need and deserve i hope that on november 8th you will honor me and by returning you back to office i ask your support for myself my running national albertson and the full republican slate on november 8th just remember let's go back to responsible spending thank you and have a wonderful day
