You have to have a passport and a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via a program like TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or Nexus, and then you have to opt into TSA Touchless with each airline. Many credit cards give TSA PreCheck for free, I'll include them in my article as well, when you comment TSA. There’s no need to show your boarding pass or ID, you just look at the camera and proceed to the PreCheck security lane. As with CLEAR, you should always still travel with your ID. Unlike with PreCheck, kids need their own KTN to use the Touchless lane. Some agents may allow you to bring kids with you in that line, but your mileage may vary. Kids can get a KTN via Global Entry for free if their parent has Global Entry. For now, Touchless lines are a breeze and faster than CLEAR/PreCheck, making them a no-brainer.
