Day #87–Rambam DAILY Sefer HaMitzvos

it is day number 87 of our daily study of rambam's sefer mitzvahs and in the three chapters a day of mishna Taylor we are finishing that's that word that I told you I couldn't really translate properly yesterday um so if you're looking for the meaning of the word site though you could look it up you could watch yesterday's class we're finishing and finishing the entire which means we're beginning a new book there are 14 books of mishna Torah so we're beginning a new book uh the book of kidusha which literally means Holiness and will be starting the laws of forbidden intimate relations Okay so corresponding to El recital we have another Saito related Mitzvah and this is negative commandment 105 the prohibition against placing frankincense in the soitas minha offering you remember yesterday we had a Prohibition against adding oil olive oil to her offering a mink offering is a meal offering in her case specifically it is barley flour which we mentioned yesterday so we had the prohibition yesterday of adding olive oil to her Minka today is the prohibition against adding frankincense which is normally an ingredient it is added to a meal offering in the temple okay now okay Mazel Tov that is the end of our Mitzvahs that correspond to say furniture and we're starting out the book of kadusha and Hilton the laws of forbidden relations okay so just a heads up we have a lot of particular prohibitions of incestuous relationships so basically each one of these different types of relatives is its own prohibition so you're going to recognize the pattern pretty quickly and we're going to basically go quickly because it's the same concept over and over again it's just different um relatives all right negative commandment 330 the prohibition against an incestuous relationship with one's mother or the act of an incestuous uh relationship uh negative commandment 331 uh the prohibition against committing incest with one's stepmother that means one's father's wife even if she's not one's mother negative commandment 332 incest with one's sister negative 333 incest with a half sister a paternal half a sister specifically negative commandment 334 incest with a son's daughter meaning a granddaughter through one son okay there are many more of these prohibitions and we will see you again tomorrow God willing
