Day #76–Rambam DAILY Sefer HaMitzvos

today is day number 76 of our daily study of rambam and we are still in Hillcrest in the three chapters a day of mishna Taylor specifically in chapters 20 21 and 22. so that means a full week seven days we've been doing hellcatius okay we have a new mitzvah for you a positive commandment get ready positive commandment 212. be fruitful and multiply be fruitful and multiply the midst of procreation having children is a Mitzvah the ramam says that this Mitzvah is incumbent on men interesting the obligation to be fruitful and multiply is upon a man a woman obviously is necessary for procreation that's kind of how it works but she's not obligated some interpret it to mean that she's more naturally inclined to want to bring children in the world so she does not require an obligation but it any rate either way it is not her obligation it is the husband's obligation to father children however it should be known that a woman who involves herself in procreation also receives reward and bringing children into the world is connected with the entire purpose of creation and the purpose of the world as we know the uh sages tell us that mashiach will not come until all of the nishamas who are awaiting embodiment in heaven currently have been brought down to the world so bringing children into the world is not just a statement of Hope and belief that this world is redeemable but actually is directly in a cause and effect way tied with the entire notion of redemption and the Perfection of this world okay we're going to continue to study more marriage and family related laws or which corresponds tomorrow we will see you then God willing
