Do not close an AMEX Platinum!

I made a huge mistake that cost me $695. And because you follow me and you're watching this video, you're not going to make the same mistake. You should not be closing your MX Platinum card. I know the annual fee went up and I know a lot of people want to close their cards, but that's the biggest mistake you can make right now. If you close your card, you get 0 refunded on your annual fee, but if you downgrade it to the green card, you will get a full prrated refund of whatever you have left remaining on your annual membership. And not only that, once you downgrade, you're going to have a full 30 days to cancel that green card and get the $95 green card annual fee fully refunded. Remember, you cannot cancel all of your MX cards as long as you have membership rewards points. Otherwise, you'll be forfeiting all of those points. There's only one card that will preserve your points and have no annual fee. That would be the Blue Business Plus card. So, if you do have a lot of points and you want to stash them away without paying an annual fee, you would have to get that card.
