AMEX Platinum Credit Card Full Update 2025

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am so happy American Express raised the annual fee on the Consumer Platinum card. They raised it $200, but they're giving us so much more than that in new benefits. I don't know how many people are familiar with Resi, but it's a super intuitive and easy to use system to make reservations at restaurants. You're getting a $100 every single quarter in Resi credit. And the really cool part about that is you could buy gift cards at your favorite restaurants. So, if you do that every quarter, by the end of the year, you're going to have $400 in gift cards to spend on one meal. They're also upgrading their hotel credit to $600 per year. That's $300 in the first half of the year and $300 in the second half of the year. But you can also combine those. So, if you're planning a trip for, let's say, in December, you want to get away for two days, book the first day of your trip in the first half of the year and the second day of your trip in the second half of the year, and that's $600 off of one trip. Again, all of this for the $200 increase. They're also adding $120 worth of credits to get you Uber 1 membership, which to me, I paid for that already, so that's literally $120 in my pocket. They previously had a digital entertainment credit of $20 per month. That's now $25 per month, so $300 per year, and it works on YouTube, which I'm already paying for. So again, money in my pocket. Also adding a $300 Lulemon credit broken down as $75 per quarter. If this is anything like the Sax credit, you're going to be able to go into Lululemon and buy a $75 gift card. Then at the end of the year, you're actually going to have $300 to Lululemon. But also, Lululemon does have items for $75. So, you could be getting free items with this pretty easily. Besides for that, they're adding a $200 a ring credit. Um, this isn't so valuable to me because they don't actually sell anything for $200. So, it's not a freebie at all, but they're adding a Leaders Club Sterling status, which is a really nice hotel program, actually. Free breakfast, only checkout, and upgrades. And with that, you're able to automatically get sixth platinum status, which could then be matched to Avis Herz National to get you elite status at every single one of those. So, pretty sweet, actually. I am super super happy with this refresh. So, worth the $200. Awesome job to the MX team. This is in addition to all the credits that we have already.
