I am standing now with the one and only
Harry Ame here live at the Andrew Cuomo
headquarters in central Manhattan right
near Rockefeller Center. Harry, what a
run it's been. We mobilize a community
like never before. We got so many people
registered. Tell me what it's like the
last couple of months.
>> You know, Joe, I am so excited tonight.
I cannot believe that I'm here in the
Zik ballroom waiting for Andrew Cuomo to
come out. Over two million people voted
tonight. I have to tell you in my life
I've seen a lot. I've done a lot and I
plan to do a lot more and accomplish a
lot more. But when I saw the leadership
of this community do I am Dav and
Marshall and Linda and the Jimmy and the
team mobilize and what they did they
shook down every person in our community
to get out there register first and then
vote today or early voting. So we're
going to do well. I believe Andrew is
going to bring it home. I said after two
million votes, it's his election. He's
going to take this from Mandami. I'm
sure of that. We're here. We're waiting
to cheer him on the next mayor of New
York City, Andrew Cuomo. He fought a
good fight. He deserves it. But I got to
tell you, all in all, Joe, our
community, you, the synagogue, every
single week, pounding away, making sure
everybody knew, but I am quoted, "It's
not cool to vote. It's uncool if you
don't."
And we coined it. And you know, I don't
think anybody was left out tonight. 900
p.m.'s coming right now.
>> We're there.
>> 9 p.m. right now.
>> We're there. It's 9:00. The polls are
closing right now. I got the most
impressive
call from a friend of mine from the
Borak Ashkanaz community. He said, "If
your community can do what you've done,
and the way you mobilize and the way you
got everybody together to make sure you
didn't leave one person over 18 years
old to get out there, do their civil
duty, register, and vote." He said, "We
saw that in Burough Park, and we
followed suit. So, we didn't just do it
for our people. We did it for all the
people of New York. We're eight and a
half million people. We deserve the
right mayor to run and control this city
the next four years.
>> Amen.
>> And that's a fact. God bless everybody
that has done their civil duty. And
look, it's all in God's hands now. We're
going to bring it home shortly.
Bless you all, all your families, and
thank you for participating and being
good New York American citizens. I love
New York.
>> And Harry, thank you for all your
motivation, your inspiration. We're a
better community because we have you as
part of us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank
you. Thank you.
