Spotlight: Chesed of Flatbush - Zvi Weill, Co-Founder

Good afternoon. We're standing in the brand new headquarters of Flapush right here in the heart of the Flappish community. I'm here with my good friend Svi Wild, one of the co-founders of Flappish. Suvi, in a nutshell, what do we got going on here? We got a lot going on here. Uh, basically Flappish had a void that needed to be filled. Basically, uh, people need medical equipment in Flapush, and we were relying on many different communities to get it. Uh, we decided we started slow with just wheelchairs and walkers and, uh, boilers, stuff like that. And we've grown into basically anything anything at all that anyone in Flatbush would need medically uh medical equipment. We have a full team of over a 100 volunteers that would deliver it to your door and pick it up when we're finished with it. We also have a different part of this organization which is home healthcare on a case- by case basis. Uh but basically what we did was we turned to Flab and said there's something missing here and we filled that void. >> Amazing. Good to note that they're running their first campaign next week right before Shana. uh is sure to be a tremendous success. They're going to be reaching out to the entire community, both the Ashkanazim and the Faradim. They really help everybody in this neighborhood. This organization was started in Flatbush for Flatbush. Tell me a little bit about the campaign. The >> campaign is very simple. We've been spending the we we're doing this for about 2 and a half years. We spend hundreds of thousand dollars on equipment. We keep replacing equipment, updating equipment, um buying new equipment that that's needed as we go. And basically, we rely on the community and we're just reaching out to the community and saying, "Hey, this is what we do. We certainly have done something for your neighbor, a family, friend or or even for you and we're just asking for some support in return at this point. >> Amazing. Keep up the great work.
